They do a potty break for people in the wave pool so it allows workers to take restroom break and forces parents to take kids to the restroom to go pee and poop before returning to the pool: that's a good strategy to ensure the pool remains clean of any accidental poop from tiny kids.

Affordable Waterpark- My group consisted of elementary…read moreschools age kids and high school kids it was our first time going there. We went on a friday night 4-8 and paid $16 per person. Everyone said they had a really good time and that they would love to come again. The slides got a thumbs up from the older kids and the splash pad did as well from the little ones. The water was warm in the splash pad but it did feel a little underwhelming not much to do. The one and only pool is big it goes from 3 ft to 6'6 ft deep. The water was warm but it definitely need of some TLC the paint/floor is chipping off and the stairs need to be deep cleaned or power washed. The grout looked black in some parts. The lazy river is 3 ft deep and there were plenty of inner tubes for everyone. I did see feathers and a little bit of trash in the water. Safety does seem to be of high priority with the amount of life guards and staff that are roaming the park. Given that it's mostly high schoolers they all seem to be doing their job and paying attention. The food was over priced but with the rule of no outside food we didn't have much choice but to purchase our meals in the park. The burger alone was $11 and the hotdog $4 ( I round up because I don't remember exactly amount). Over all we had a good time and would come and visit the park again in the future.

I should've written an update when it was a solid 5…read morestars but this summer (2025), the City of San Marcos partnered with Premier Aquatics and unfortunately, sometimes with change, things go a bit downhill. Before Premier Aquatics, there were plenty of chairs and lounge chairs in the shade, the pool was open during the summer 7 days a week, 12-5, and every Friday night was 'Family Nights' from 6-8. The lifeguards brought out a huge obstacle course and all the kids loved it. Not anymore. The pool is open less hours for recreational swim. M-Th 12-3. F-Su 12-5. There are way less chairs, and no more 'Family Nights'. It's pretty obvious why the rec hours are limited...Premier Aquatics makes more money off swim lessons than they do with recreational swim. They offer more pool passes at different price points, but none of them are through the City of San Marcos. You're buying it straight through Premier Aquatics. My kids still enjoy it, but....meh. 3 stars.

Our room was located in the newly remodeled villas section, which had its own private pool and jacuzzi. It is away from the main pool area, which was much more quiet and more relaxing. They also have an adult pool in the main pool area, which had a view overlooking the breathtaking golf course. Breakfast at The Vue was pretty solid. The food at the main pool was OK, but the food at the adult pool was even better. Overall, I really recommend this resort if you have kids. No "are we there yet?!" from the kids because it was just a hop, skip, and a jump away. The resort itself is amazing -- our suite was right by the playground, so the kids were entertained while we got a tiny breather. And the best part? We could watch LEGOLAND fireworks right from our room at night. Ping pong, games, and laughter galore -- this place is basically a kid paradise... and a slight adult paradise too because the beds were comfy. And the staff? Absolutely the sweetest ever! They were so friendly and helpful, and one of the ladies even went out of her way and bought a cake for my daughter's birthday -- I mean, can you even?! We went back-and-forth with if we wanted to stay there and pay that cost, or if we should stay at another local hotel for our visit. We are glad that we stayed at the hotel. Though the price is high, they provide a lot of great entertainment and things for the children to do right within the hotel. Also, the theming for the hotel is so cool for kids. We loved that there were two separated spaces for adults and kids. We ate at the hotel as well for breakfast and dinner. The food was good enough. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad at all.

As you are driving, the main line turns into two lanes, and then three, and then multiple, with nobody directing traffic--so of course you have a-holes speeding from the back of the line to cut in front when a new lane opens. Actual parking was surprisingly open for the shitshow line you have deal with to get there. Food Absolutely disgusting. I ordered "summer special" BBQ burger for $22 and had to choke down every bite(burgers are typically the one safe menu item I can order if I'm unsure of quality--not here!). Luckily I was able to at least wash that down with a $15 12 oz beer--which took me a good 20 minutes to figure out how/where to buy. My gf order Udon noodles that was served in so much sauce that it looked like ramen soup. They topped it with steamed shredded chicken that looked like cat food. She also ordered a water bottle for $7 that they failed to bring out to her, and when she went to go get it, they gave her a warm one that had been sitting out when she specifically asked for a cold one--mind you it's an 81 degree day and the air conditioning isn't working inside the cafe area. Rides If I had to do it again, I'd get the fast pass, but the day was already half over after two rides. We were halfway through the first line when we downloaded the app and looked at the wait time, which was 65 minutes, so we waited it out for this ride that lasted two minutes. Not wanting to face the same fate, we went to a ride that the app said only had a 15 minute wait--we ended up waiting another hour. Water Park Feeling majorly let down by everything else so far, we figured we'd try to make the best of the day and spend the afternoon at the water park. So we waited in line, just to be told it's an extra $30 per person to get in. At this point I started laughing to myself in disbelief, unsure of how this place remains open. There is a smaller splash pad by Lego Movie World, that we went to instead, and kids were running and slipping and falling everywhere. They need to add some sort of traction to the ground--I can believe they haven't had a lawsuit from a kid cracking their head open yet. Direction Staffing is rude and clearly inadequate. Nobody seemed to want to be bothered with questions, and nobody had answers anyways. There are not enough directional signs, I had to track down an employee to ask where a restroom was, and had to download the app/map for everything else. Final Verdict I will never come back here. I'd rather spend my time and money at the Zoo or go the extra mile for Disney. I actually look forward to this place going out of business. I thought robbery was illegal.

I also appreciated that they had a separate bunk bed room for the kids! I loved that the actual park had a lot of "fun zones" you can go into and cool off and let the kids play with all the legos. It helped break up all the walking and take a cool down break from the heat. I also loved that it was really baby friendly! They had a nice nursing room with private nursing stalls, changing stations, play area, fridge and hot/cold water dispenser. At all the snack kiosks they also had baby friendly snacks! I mean, when I was a kid...I was happy to use any pool over the summer...but my kids have a choice of fantastic city owned pools. Las Posas pool is smaller than Woodland Park pool- there's no diving board but it's heated and there is a fun splash pad. The shaded area is smaller than woodland park pool...something to keep in mind. The lifeguards are friendly and enforce rules. I prefer Woodland Park pool simply because it's closer to my house and there's more shade, but Las Posas still earns 5 stars!
