They always say that the small, out of the way places are the best, when it comes to food. This place gives you home cooked, family comfort food. That's what Casa Lupe Real is, family pride at it's best. From the chicken grande burrito, that you literally didn't need teeth in order to eat it. I have never had a tortilla melt in your mouth. It was phenomenal. Not to mention, it probably weighed 2 pounds. The fajitas are exquisite. You will definitely leave the table stuffed, from this absolutely fresh cuisine. If you're a fan of margaritas, boy, do they know how to make a good one. Likewise, their fruit, Long Island iced tea is dangerous it's so good. This family run restaurant is a true gem of Saratoga. Came in and placed an order to go. Service was fast and friendly and I was out with my Shrimp burrito with chips and salsa within 10 mins. The batch of chips I had were not great but the salsa was good. If you prefer mild, perhaps skip on this but the red salsa had a good kick to it and the verde salsa had a slight tang which was also good. In regards to the shrimp burrito, my first few bites had too much beans and sour cream but the rest of the burrito was enjoyable. At times it felt like there was not a lot of shrimp but I guess the roll of the burrito had most of this in the bottom half where it definitely felt like a generous portion. It was a pricy burrito that totaled to $26 with tax and tip but it was large enough the two of us to devour and be stuffed. Well, yelp did it again and found me a restaurant that we had never been to. This appears to be some kind of chain but maybe a family chain as there's several locations but this is the newest location in Saratoga and it's been open about 16 months. The staff was fantastic. Very attentive and very energetic especially for a Saturday afternoon. Overall, it was pretty busy but not standing room only. Do you know that they break their hours in the middle of the day to get ready for dinner. We ordered everything from the chips and guac to House salads and to the combo plates. Everything was fresh and hot with tons of flavor. The beer was very cold and nice tall glasses. The ambience is cool very Mexico feel but light and bright with an outdoor patio. There are some TVs there, but we were not interested in that as the food was too good. Service was fast and the food was hot. We will return there for sure. read more

Just like the Cass Lupe on Bernardo in Sunnyvale, this one loves up to the name. Miguel branched off on his own and it's just as good as the original. What I like about this location is that it has an outdoor front patio area to eat and there are a few different things, most notably is the salsa. Still have the red, but now they have green which is pretty good. Service is also just as good as Sunnyvale location. Always attentive. Def check this one out if you are in the area. I have frequented this restaurant at least 10 times to dine on patio with our dog and also for takeout. The food is outstanding, the draft beer mugs are ice cold, and the everyone is very friendly and laid back (unusual for Saratoga) . The food is authentic and not greasy. I have tried the burritos, chimichanga, tostada, numerous variations of the 3 combo build your own, steak fajitas, and churros. Every time every meal has been delicious. read more

He's always there, always hustling: greeting guests, serving tables, talking with regulars, socializing, and keeping the energy just right. Whatever the game of the day is, it's on in the bar, and the ambience is consistently warm, welcoming, and comfortable. He's built a loyal, friendly team around him--many of the same faithful faces who are always genuinely happy to see you. That consistency matters. Even when dealing with a landlord who was less than easy to work with regarding the outdoor seating, the owner handled it all with grace and professionalism, which says a lot about his character. The food is excellent, period. I always get the fajitas and they never disappoint. The chips are great. The salsa is great. And yes--the bathrooms are always clean, which may sound small but says everything about how this place is run. This location has changed hands so many times over the years with other restaurants, but the owner has truly done wonders here. I sincerely hope Casa Lupe is the one that stands the test of time--and the test of petty reviewers. What else do you want? Get over yourself and go eat here. read more

The food was just as delicious as the other Casa Lupe located in Campbell! Please see pictures below and let your eyes do some feasting. The people were super friendly as usual for Casa Lupe and the surroundings were warm and comfortable. Inside there are big screen tvs to watch games on. There are 8 tables outside that look very comfortable to sit at while enjoying food and drink. Great place to visit, enjoy delicious food and drink at. Casa Lupe in Saratoga is really, really good. Awesome value for money. Chicken Fajitas are excellent and so are California Enchiladas. Invariably, we order these two dishes, at a minimum. The owner is always there and welcoming and it is walking distance from our house. I only wish it was also open on Sundays (and perhaps closed on Monday) but of course that's my preference. read more

I'm SO THRILLED they are here and much closer to me. I used to go to Casa Lupe in Sunnyvale all the time and the food is just like that location! But smaller and more cozy. We both got the California Enchilada and it brought back so many fond memories... AND I remember the chips and salsa - homemade chips - thick and tasty with two kinds of salsa. Yes we had to have 2nds on the chips and salsa - it's THAT good. AND I admit - I LOVE eating the beans, enchilada with a bit of sour cream on a chip. It's like a PERFECT bite of flavor and textures!! I recognized the owner from the Sunnyvale location and he's friendly and super nice. I really hope he stays and we definitely will be coming here more often! We weree pleasantly seated outdoors. The patio is comfortable, it is a good distance from the busy stteet. Service is friendly and unhurried. Very relaxing. I very much enjoyed my chile relleno. I was so happy to see it on an ala cart menu since i often want a small meal. I tasted my husband's enchilada verde but found the verde sauce to be too vinegary. That's disappointing since i normally love chile verde burritos. His tostada had ample chicken but would be better if the lettuce on top of it had a bit of dressing. Instead it was a pile of tasteless lettuce. We plan to return and try some different items... the desserts look especially intriguing. Our go to place!!!!! We eat at Casa Lupe a few times a week actually (done in and take out) and love it. The food is always so fresh and steaming hot regardless if we eat there or bring home. The staff was friendly, fast, and attentive, and the dining area felt cozy, warm, and welcoming. The aroma from the kitchen immediately set the tone for a great meal. My wife ordered the chile Colorado--tender and full of flavor--while I went with a create-your-own combo of chicken tacos, enchiladas, and tamales. Each bite was delicious and well-seasoned. The only reason we didn't give a full five stars was the chips and salsa. The chips were served warm but tasted a bit stale and lacked the crunch we expected. Overall, a wonderful experience. Our first time going here, was excited to see a Mexican Food place here in Saratoga. We really enjoyed our dinner here. Sue had the choose your own adventure (they didn't call it that) where you could choose from several different dishes and have them together. She was able to have them make one item that wasn't in the official combo as part of the combo. I had the Fajitas with Chicken and Shrimp (which was also a custom combination). Both of us enjoyed the food very much. I am usually disappointed when I have Fajitas outside of my favorite place for Fajitas, but Casa Lupe Real was the first one to not disappoint and thus I now have an alternative which is much closer to home. It did take a very long time from when we ordered to when we got the food. The folks working there were very friendly and kept our drinks as well as chips and salsa going until we did get the food. Don't know if this delay is normal or that we came at the peak rush (the place was packed, though we didn't have a problem getting seated for two people). So I would suggest that you not expect very quick service, but we found it worth the wait. The food was clearly prepared from scratch. We'll definitely be coming back! read more

NOTE: They *do* have shredded beef, aka barbacoa. It's something I'm always looking for, and you can't tell whether they have it from the menu. They do, and it's delicious. It's a super friendly place, everyone who works there was welcoming and helpful. The food was super delicious. I judge a Mexican food place by their refried beans and their beef. These refried beans were super flavorful. I asked for shredded beef rather than ground beef or carne asada in my entree and it was fantastically meaty and juicy. I did add salt to everything--those of you who don't want everything super salty might love it here too! I would give this a much higher rating except two things stood out to us. We frequent the Campbell location of Casa Lupe and have been going for a solid decade and a half. First the salsas both leaned on the sour side like lots of lime maybe? Now if this is your jam then this place is for you! We personally love the chunky salsa at their sister location in Campbell as well as their red salsa there...it's spicer and less sour. Chips were great though! Second we noticed a decrease in serving size. We ordered fajitas and usually at our regular location it's overflowing even if it's just onions and zucchini they are adding extra of. At this location we could see the bottom of the hot plate (it was visibly sparse) and though the chicken is cut in larger pieces the zucchini is cut rather thin and flat making it easier for it to be mushier and over cooked quickly. Over all the service was great and we loved the location of this place. We liked how there was an abundance of parking and how they have an outdoor patio. I think I would like to see them adjust their portion size a bit maybe even if it's just 10-15% more. In terms of salsa I realize it's just personal taste but we love us some spicy chunky salsa...not too tart! read more
