I booked a week ago and within the hour of booking with a hotel booking app I had to cancel. The booking company said my reservation was canceled with no charge. This hotel, Arabella, ran my credit card and added a $50 transaction fee immediately. This booking app that I have used for over 10 years, usually doesn't use my credit purchase until a couple of days before my booking date or at the hotel itself when already there. My credit card company has a dispute report. Hotel, Arabella, removed the cost of hotel but still has that $50 transaction fee on my credit card. That is still being disputed. No other hotel I have booked in 10 years, has had the procedure to charge me immediately after booking. read more

Stayed 2 nights. Lumpy pillows and cold morning shower. Darkly painted room, lines in TV. Most rooms are upstairs which was not what I thought I booked according to the photos. Gravel walk ways not the best for us older folks. Lack of response to my email to inquire about details and I could not cancel without being charged full price. Skip this one. Grounds are pretty but too much traffic noise to enjoy. read more

Attended a wedding at Arabella Laguna. We spent the entire day getting ready in one of the cottages. Plenty of room for 8 women to move about and do hair and makeup. The garden is a perfect photo op spot. Highly recommend this as a vacation destination or a venue for a special event. read more

Arabella is an excellent home-away-from-home that is only a short walk to the beach and a longer but comfortable walk from Laguna Village. Caveats: there may be no dish soap, lights may be burned out, no one may be there to let you in when you show up, the internet won't work.... very often, something is missing or amiss; but we keep coming back. When I first came to learn about Arabella Laguna is when I first met the owners. They were looking for a new website and I owned a design firm at the time, and still do. So I built them a new website. I'm from Laguna Beach and I can't believe I've never seen this place. Although I rarely ever hung out on the north side though. A couple years later I moved to New York and eventually had to come back to California to visit a client and thought where could my wife and I stay for the week? So I called the owners and got a suite for us for the entire week. I'm glad we stayed there because not only did I get to experience the place firsthand but we actually had a great time. I think we had the Heather Suite and it was really nice. I was so impressed with the way the room was decorated and wow, the bed, was so comfortable!!!!! I didn't even want to leave the bed. I slept so well it wasn't even funny. I love the fact that we can cook our own breakfast and it really feels like it's your own place. We could walk to the store to buy groceries or just downtown. Walk a block and a half to the beach and jump into the most beautiful part of California. Sorry, I'm from here so I'm bias. :o) Diver's Cove right there. If you like to hike there are some of the best trails in south county around. I read the complaints about the noise level. It's pretty much only from PCH which is the main road out front. To be honest it's PCH and PCH is loud and always has been. That's actually the charm of PCH and being beachside. It's not like Florida and Ocean Ave. To be honest, you get use to it. Parking was never a problem. You have a spot in the back reserved if I remember correctly. It's standard Laguna Beach alley parking and it's safe. There's also street parking but can be full at almost any time. I think if you're looking for a quaint, cute as hell place. Arabella Laguna is that kind of place. read more

The owner of this place is the least friendly, most rude person you'll come accross in Laguna. We live close by and cross her from time to time. Before knowing what kind of person she is, we recommended our friends booked there. Their flight was sadly rescheduled to a day later. Because they showed up a day late to a reservation they FULLY PAID for for multiple days, they were told since they didn't show up to day 1, the room was given to someone else. + no refunds. Another couple we know also stayed recently for work and had a terrible experience as well. Avoid! read more

Pretty good location. Located within walking distance to the main beach. Not too much traffic near the area these cottages are nestled in. There is a great little common garden like area that is such a bonus. Great grills, tables, seating and flowers. what a great place to go for a quick escape over the weekend. read more

We rented the Myrtle Cottage recently for our wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and perfect for me and my girls to get ready in on the morning of the wedding. I am so happy to have found this gem! My husband was blown away when he saw the place on our wedding night and said we couldn't have stayed at a more perfect place! I am so glad I found Arabella. Stayed at Arabella with out little dog for a quick beach trip. Loved the location - walking distance to everything including the beach and restaurants. We stayed in the Violet Suite - comfortable and cute - we felt like we were staying at a friends place rather than a rental. Walked to breakfast at Urth each morning and then down to the beach. There is also a grocery store right around the corner. No maid service during the stay but that doesn't bother us. Only downside was the landscapers fired up their blowers, lawn mower and trimmer at 7am. Will be back! read more

We found this gem on trip advisor. My family of 5 stayed comfortably at the Myrtle Cottage. The grounds are spectacular and we enjoyed seeing the two bunnies every evening. One block from the beach!! On a separate note, the wifi was really robust. That makes a difference with 3 kids streaming movies in the evening. read more

My house was being painted and uninhabitable, so I got to be a visitor in my own town. A friend recommended Arabella Laguna. Very nice. Since I was only there a few nights, I chose the Heather suite. It overlooks the garden courtyard but had a partial view of the ocean. It's a studio, meaning it's like a hotel room (king bed) with a full kitchen and a fairly large bathroom with shower. The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The bed and bath linens deserve a special mention as they were extra nice. I'm noise sensitive, and PCH is close. But, I slept soundly. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook, or at least make coffee. Apparently, the larger units come with a dishwasher. There is no A/C. I live nearby and nobody has it. You don't need it. There's no maid service, but I think the price reflects that. If you want fresh towels, you trade them in at the laundry room. There is a home type washer and dryer, no coins. The location is great. The beach is 1 1/2 blocks away. 2 blocks to a Von's Pavilions. The village is a 5 minute walk. Good restaurants and nightlife are within easy walking distance. 5 minute drive to Trader Joe's. Free WI-Fi. I see this as a great way for someone to experience life as a local in Laguna. Good value. Highly recommended. read more

The location is good but the room was almost at 90 degrees so hot felt like the heater was on!! Very old buildings so even if its cool outside the rooms are extremely HOT! I wish I could get my money back it was the worst experience.. Ants coming in from cracks in then bathroom in which they made themselves in my luggage. read more

Heather, who manages the property, is either incredibly lazy and unprofessional or a cheat. She promised a partial refund in August, 2021 on a cancelled reservation that she was able to 'back-fill' with replacement guests and yet never followed through. There had been so much back and forth leading up to her August promise, I was 'over' the protracted process, causing me to be slow to check my credit card statement for the refund until late September. I was shocked to discover the refund had not been posted. I then called and emailed her at least 10 times over the course of 3 weeks -- and she only responded when I left a message that I would have to dispute it with the credit card company and take other legal remedies if needed. She finally responded 3 weeks later by email only, in the middle of the night both times (1 am and 3 am). Heather is a disaster. Avoid staying at Arabella for that reason alone. read more

Why stay in a ho hum hotel, when you can stay somewhere that feels like home? We stayed here recently and felt so at home that we didin't want to leave. Our cottage was spotless and the bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in outside of our own home. There is a charming common garden where I enjoyed reading a book on many an afternoon. The location can't be beat. It sits directly across the street from the beach. When we stayed here we felt like we had our own cottage in Laguna Beach and we were able to relax and really enjoy our vacation. I highly recommend it. read more

The room decor was charming and location near town / beaches was a delight, but definitely not a good location for sleep or relaxation. Without a means to cool the room down, the windows were wide open, making a quiet reading or night of sleep impossible. The unit had no hot water for bathing as well. I rented the cottages for my clients who flew in from Canada. They absolutely loved the accommodations! The classic laguna bungalows were ideal each with their own kitchenettes. I have stayed here twice and recommend it. It is in walking distance to the beach, very close. It is easy to walk downtown from here. There are also good food options close by. The rooms are quaint and quiet with cozy outdoor seating area. The rooms offer good privacy. There is a functional kitchen - which is a big selling point. The cottages are cute and the location is good, but the street noise can be a little loud and the parking is terrible and at your own risk which, in our case, meant a dent in our hood! When I sent an email, first I got no response. So I called 2 weeks later and they basically didn't have a lot of sympathy. Don't think I'll stay there again. Oh well. read more

We really wanted to like this place, but got stiffed! We booked AL via booking.com for our anniversary weekend. The itinerary said to arrive after 4pm, so we arrived at 7:30pm. When we arrived, the lobby was locked and the lights were out. There was a number printed at the front door, so we called it. Well, that number just rang and went to voicemail. We sat on the front steps for about an hour while we tried to figure out what to do. In the end, we ended up getting a room at the St. Regis, and had the most amazing time there. We highly recommend St. Regis. If a business says you may check in after 4pm and they aren't there to accept guests at 7:30pm, that's a problem. We left messages for the hotel management and NEVER HEARD A WORD. Not a good way to do business in my opinion. We have no plans on going back. There are many reputable hotels in the Laguna/Dana Point area. I would avoid Arabella Laguna! read more

Stayed here a few weeks ago and was somewhat disappointed. We had a room upstairs and it was sweltering, blistering hot, virtually intolerably so, and extremely loud. Even though the day cooled down to a nice temperature, the room was baking hot until 4am. The only way to sleep was to have every window open and then the street noise was so loud that no-one really slept at all. We felt like we were trying to sleep in the middle of a loud racetrack with trucks and cars jolting us constantly with their awful loud noise. Such a disappointment because the rooms are cute and the kitchens and decor are very nice. Why doesn't this place invest in air conditioning units, even small portable ones? Then the guests could close the windows and be comfortable. I got a portable one at home for 300 dollars and it works like a charm. We were promised parking and laundry and did not receive either of these. The parking spots were all full when we arrived late at night and we had to park in the street at a parking meter. My husband was very grumpy up at 8am in his pajamas feeding a parking meter on our vacation! He tried to use the laundry and it was being used by the hotel cleaning staff so he could not use it. Both of these promises of parking and laundry were highly untrue. The grounds are beautiful, the location is also very good and close to downtown. Sadly, we found ourselves not even wanting to go back to the room our whole stay, and so never really got to relax. I hope they fix these issues. read more

Loved this place. Rented both the Lavender and Delphinium suites. Couldn't have been more pleased with the decor, cleanliness, convenient location. Proximity to everything I enjoy in Laguna Beach was a perfect short walk. We never needed to get back in the car during the entire weekend. The garden was also so very pleasant for relaxing.
