Seven4One was a great small hotel find in Laguna Beach. It is 1/2 block from it's Sister Hotel, Surf Lodge, and you are doing your valet, check in and can use the pool and Jacuzzi at that hotel. It seems to be pet friendly and leans more towards adults than kids. We came here for a celebration and we were incredibly happy with our experience. Very clean, very comfortable, open and breezy, close to the beach and easy walking to Orange Inn and various other Laguna staples. A longer walk or Uber to Forest Avenue at the main beach. Service was pleasant and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and if we do another celebratory staycation would look at this as a go to hotel read more

The hotel is in a good location in Laguna Beach. The lobby and courtyard are nice. However there were many flaws with the room, etc. First, the shower and bathroom are combined with a mirrored glass that literally exposes the bathroom and shower to the rest of the suite. Everyone can watch you doing your thing. Ugh! Also they have no TVs by design and the A/C is actually portable units with filter hoses. We got there early on check-in day and was told that there would be a good chance to get in early after our room was finished being cleaned. I noticed that housekeeping was finished with all of the rooms and walked to the main building and they apologized because there was a shift change. Check-in was at 4pm and we got in to our room at 3:45. If we had known that, we would have planned accordingly. We asked on one occasion to have our room made up and it was not taken care of. We had our privacy sign off of the door at 9:45 am. It is apparent that this location is a step child to the main building. There is nobody checking on this location. They will tell you that. Also, I would really consider my Ocean View a partial OV. Their ice machine had to be fixed after I called it in. read more

To start with we left a few hours after we got here. I do recommend this place. It was just not for us. This place is unique, a little towards the more expensive end. But, excellent if this is for you. The place is very nice. Very, very clean and does a great job at what it is for. Even a fountain with purified water. Call them to find out if it is for you. Our problem was no TVs, slow internet, no phones. Fireplace in the main room. Walk into the bedroom and defused nice smells, meditation music. No usb plugs. This is for people that want to totally relax and know how too. I am a city boy. Little high strung. I went to the front desk and said we were checking out. This place is not for us. We live in Huntington Beach and to get away for an overnighter so close to us, but feel so away is just what every couple can enjoy. To walk in into a room that is so simply divine really met our needs. After our awesome lunch at The Deck we checked in, were greeted by a wonderful and courteous staff. The grounds are well maintained, and the rooms are reasonably priced for being oceanfront. When we walked into our room, we instantly said this is perfect. From the running diffuser and the white noise machine going that we didn't need because the ocean air and sound arewhy we were there, we took advantage of a quick siesta. The location couldn't be better. You can walk up to any bar, restaurant in the area and even live music at the village. We would definitely stay here again and we'll have to be in the same room again also. I love the balcony and the swinging chairs. And it's an easy walk down to the sand for morning walks. read more

I gave only TWO STARS, for these reasons: 1) Parking is not convenient. You have to vallet for $38/night. 2) there is no heating system in the building. It was cold! 3) The room smell like sewer and they provided an air purifier and oil diffuser to help correct the smell. 3) We are at the bottom floor and we could hear the movements on the room above us. 4) The common area for gathering is not well lit. 5) they had terrace on the second floor with tables and chairs- but we were not able to use it as they were wet. 6) Windows toward the outside, we had to keep it close as it is about two feet away from the neighbor's wooden fence. *For the SERVICE we would give them FOUR STARS: 1) employees were really nice and friendly. 2) They were quick when you call and ask for help. 3) They had two of our cars parked for free at the back. 4) They have an employee around 4am, who cleaned the place, washed the dishes, made coffee and drinks. read more

Had a weekend getaway and stayed in the Catalina suite for the night night. The room was clean, the location is fantastic (super close to the beach), and there's a complimentary wine tea coffee bar downstairs in the lobby. It's a cozy hotel that has a luxury feel while being reasonably affordable. Gorgeous and spacious rain shower in the suite. Check in was quick and easy and they are super super friendly. However, the lights were not working in the room (one lamp was completely out, and the overhead recessed lights were flickering on and off like in a ghost movie). The windows also don't offer a lot of privacy, the window we had facing the beach was also facing into the lounge area so anyone could just look in. Also, the bathroom window as well...... I also asked for some tea from the bar at the lobby the night we checked in and the person who was helping us just disappeared. I never heard from her again and never got my tea. *shrugs* :/ Also, what would a hotel stay be without a $28 amenities fee sprung on you in check-in? To top it off, the essential oils and some of the 'amenities' weren't even in the room. Tip: Metered parking was readily available for us when we checked in, and is waaay cheaper than using valet. There's an app for it that makes it super easy to pay, and it's free outside of 8am to 7pm. Overall, pretty good experience. Not bad! read more

This place is just ok. I stayed here with my husband on my birthday and while the staff was very nice and the lobby looks nice, the rooms themselves were definitely standard at best. You could tell that decades ago this used to be a small apartment complex and the room we stayed in was a studio. The bed wasn't comfortable (it felt like an old mattress) and the room was completely bare bones. The "fancy" amenities in the room was the diffuser and the sound machine, which, don't get me wrong, we liked a lot. After our trip we bought our own sound machine because we liked the one in the hotel so much. There is no tv, but we don't watch tv when we go on vacation so not a big deal. The bathroom is very small and uses a sliding door/barn door for the shower and toilet...not exactly something I like, but whatever, I can deal with it. Parking was weird and the spots are TINY. Again, you can tell this was an apartment and the parking garage was for the residents who lived there. A group of guests parked a massive SUV rental and I remember them having a hard time getting out, lol. I forgot to mention the whole check in aspect. Maybe they changed it, but a couple years ago after we reserved and paid for our room, there was no information about parking in our confirmation. We tried to call the hotel beforehand but the first time we called, the person on the other end sounded like they weren't even in the hotel or Laguna Beach. It was really strange, but the person advised that parking is available for guests in the back of the hotel. On the day of our trip we ended up parking at a metered space because we didn't know where we could leave our car to check in to our room. We also had to call the phone number at the front door since the entrance was locked...what hotel does that? Anyway, we did move our car into their "garage", but we only knew about it because the front desk showed us the alleyway into their garage. Honestly I could look past all of what I just mentioned and I don't expect every hotel to be like a Waldorf Astoria, but the main thing I really did NOT like about this hotel is their courtyard. At night the guests were talking and hanging out in the courtyard and you can easily hear them! It was incredibly annoying and aggravating, especially when I'm trying to sleep at 11pm. The sound machine could not drown out their voices. If the hotel is not going to monitor guests during after hours at least close off the courtyard during the evening. The guests weren't being loud but this place is small and sound easily picks up in this area. I really hesitated writing this review because the employees were nice and isn't horrible, but I couldn't help but feel like this place was lacking and not that great. The following year we stayed at a different hotel in Laguna that was cheaper and was considered a "3 star" hotel (SCP Seven4One is supposed to be a "4 star" boutique hotel) and let's just say that the difference between the second hotel and SCP Seven4One was like night and day. The only things that I genuinely liked about SCP Seven4One was the sound machine and that the hotel is right across the street from Ralph's (I bought some fruit and cakes and stored them in the hotel fridge, haha). Otherwise SCP Seven4One is not a place I would stay in again. read more

I debated on writing this but ultimately decided I needed to. This is in no way bashing the hotel because I do think it was ok. The staff is very kind and the place is relatively clean. It def looks like a revamped motel or apartment complex but it's nicely done. In our opinion the place is not worth the money. We were in for $726 for a one night stay. We got an "ocean view" room. And while it was technically ocean view it wasn't a full view. You can see the ocean between the two buildings in front of the property but that's it. They told us several times that the rooms were sound proof but also is not the case. There is a 2nd floor deck right outside our room and having several people out there with music blaring, I can assure you that the rooms are NOT sound proof. This was a huge bummer for us. We were truly looking to relax and for a couple hours there it just wasn't possible. We were also charged for a "Guest Amenity" fee, $25 twice the day we checked in and once the day we checked out. So more of a buyer beware. Yes the place is cute and clean. I did think the bed was comfy and the rooms did smell nice but it wasn't worth the money in my opinion. read more

Be warned Seven4One removed all air conditioning from the suite ocean view unit 205; they have not communicated this on their website. I made this reservation 10 weeks in advance and I was not informed that air conditioning was removed. Do not recommend. Deceitful. We needed an air conditioned unit for our disabled dog. They stated they would refund my whole stay and have yet to do so. read more

We stumbled upon this gem of a hotel for a weekend getaway to the beach, and could not be more thrilled! The hotel is nestled on PCH, and the hospitality from check-in to check-out was five star. We were welcomed so warmly upon arrival, and upgraded to a corner suite with a full living room kitchenette (sizeable fridge, no microwave or freezer but luckily we had no need for those) and cozy king bedroom. We had a view of the ocean just past the cute courtyard outside of our room, which was perfect. We were offered complimentary wine and were so pleased with the zen beachy ambiance of not just our room, but the hotel overall. The access process is seamless with keypad codes throughout the property and both indoor and outdoor common areas with lounge seating and crackling firepits. The hotel was clean and thoughtfully decorated, and all of the accommodations were comfortable and just what we were looking for for a restful getaway. We will definitely be back! read more
