We live in Huntington Beach and to get away for an overnighter so close to us, but feel so away is just what every couple can enjoy. To walk in into a room that is so simply divine really met our needs. After our awesome lunch at The Deck we checked in, were greeted by a wonderful and courteous staff. The grounds are well maintained, and the rooms are reasonably priced for being oceanfront. When we walked into our room, we instantly said this is perfect. From the running diffuser and the white noise machine going that we didn't need because the ocean air and sound arewhy we were there, we took advantage of a quick siesta. The location couldn't be better. You can walk up to any bar, restaurant in the area and even live music at the village. We would definitely stay here again and we'll have to be in the same room again also. I love the balcony and the swinging chairs. And it's an easy walk down to the sand for morning walks.

Had a weekend getaway and stayed in the Catalina suite for the night night. The room was clean, the location is fantastic (super close to the beach), and there's a complimentary wine tea coffee bar downstairs in the lobby. It's a cozy hotel that has a luxury feel while being reasonably affordable. Gorgeous and spacious rain shower in the suite. Check in was quick and easy and they are super super friendly. However, the lights were not working in the room (one lamp was completely out, and the overhead recessed lights were flickering on and off like in a ghost movie). The windows also don't offer a lot of privacy, the window we had facing the beach was also facing into the lounge area so anyone could just look in. Also, the bathroom window as well...... I also asked for some tea from the bar at the lobby the night we checked in and the person who was helping us just disappeared. I never heard from her again and never got my tea. *shrugs* :/ Also, what would a hotel stay be without a $28 amenities fee sprung on you in check-in? To top it off, the essential oils and some of the 'amenities' weren't even in the room. Tip: Metered parking was readily available for us when we checked in, and is waaay cheaper than using valet. There's an app for it that makes it super easy to pay, and it's free outside of 8am to 7pm. Overall, pretty good experience. Not bad!

If you are seeking a fair priced Boutique, Intimate, & Beach vacation - This is it! Location is key when traveling so: walkable shops, steps away from the beach, everything you would need for an ideal vacation. I also learned that SCP also serves a greater purpose than your traditional corporate property management companies. Every time you stay at a Soul Community Planet property you make a positive impact to the community and environment.

Love this boutique hotel. Kyle took great care of us and went above and beyond. Perfect place for someone who wants a clean, quiet room with simple holistic amenities . We love the common areas and Zen like decorations. Beautiful view of the ocean from on the top floor suite. This hotel is in the heart of Laguna Beach we love it here and this will be a top choice to stay in Laguna Beach. This was our first time staying here and we will be running Back! A+ service from our host Kyle and his team

We stumbled upon this gem of a hotel for a weekend getaway to the beach, and could not be more thrilled! The hotel is nestled on PCH, and the hospitality from check-in to check-out was five star. We were welcomed so warmly upon arrival, and upgraded to a corner suite with a full living room kitchenette (sizeable fridge, no microwave or freezer but luckily we had no need for those) and cozy king bedroom. We had a view of the ocean just past the cute courtyard outside of our room, which was perfect. We were offered complimentary wine and were so pleased with the zen beachy ambiance of not just our room, but the hotel overall. The access process is seamless with keypad codes throughout the property and both indoor and outdoor common areas with lounge seating and crackling firepits. The hotel was clean and thoughtfully decorated, and all of the accommodations were comfortable and just what we were looking for for a restful getaway. We will definitely be back!

Outside courtyard area for day or evening with fireplace sunshine.

Wonderful getaway & time away!! Distressed! !! Always clean & fresh - nice viewing deck & fire pit -4 areas to relax before retiring to sleep...Definitely will be back- enjoy when you go -it's a zen boutique hotel. Thanks to all the staff

The service was excellent and can see that staff takes great care and attention to making sure everything is taken care of. We very much appreciated all the amenities this inn had to offer such as the welcome drink, evening cookies (delicious!), sauna, sunblock at the pool, towels, lovely breakfast.. all complimentary (breakfast with resort fee). We also appreciated the 10% military discount. We stayed in room 23 which was a standard queen bed with garden view and liked that spot because it felt central, private, and quiet. The room is on the smaller side but it was fine. It does not have a fridge but they provide an ice bucket. We ended up putting our bottled waters on top of the AC box and that kept it cool. Being that the inn is beautifully historic, there weren't many outlets inside the room. The bath robes were very plush. Both lamp shade knobs didn't seem to turn properly but we made it work somehow. Otherwise, we felt well taken care of throughout our stay and so glad we came. Aside from the inn, there is a walk to get to Victoria Beach. We walked south along Coast Highway to Victoria Place and found the underpass from there. We also took the free trolley outside of the hotel to get around town. It could be quite a wait for the trolley as we waited 30 mins. There is a QR code on the sign to track the trolley locations.

I had the tomato risotto, which was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The fish tacos were also very good. One pleasant surprise was the salsa--it was fresh, flavorful, and had an authentic homemade taste. The mango turmeric lemonade tasted fresh, healthy, and refreshing. What truly made this dining experience special, though, were the magnificent views overlooking the ocean waves. The beautiful scenery elevated the entire meal and made it a memorable experience.

My room appeared to be next to what sounded like a utility or service room, and there was loud equipment noise running throughout the entire night. Sleeping was nearly impossible. I reached out to the hotel by both text and email after my stay and was told the matter would be looked into. It has now been over a week with no follow-up or resolution whatsoever. For the rates Surf & Sand charges, guests should not be placed in rooms with constant overnight noise issues, and concerns should certainly not be ignored afterward. Very disappointing experience from a hotel that presents itself as a luxury property.

I researched every hotel I could find that was within walking distance to the beach in Laguna. I was not sure what to expect since reviews were a little inconsistent. I was very impressed by the ambiance of this hotel! It's gorgeous! It's warm, tropical and beachy. Very unlike a chain hotel. There were a lot of beautiful details that made the hotel unique. The bed was very comfortable too. Our room had direct access to the pool and that was a nice feature. Other reviews mention the high cost, I agree, it was costly with additional fees. However it's not an economy hotel. It's directly on the beach and I expected to pay a premium rate because of that. A welcome note and fruit were left in the room upon arrival. The staff were great, Sam checked us in and he was very sweet. There was another young man with long hair that was also very kind (I didn't get his name, he gave great direction on some local shopping). Maria made an amazing champagne spritz and she was also very hospitable. Would stay at Casa Loma again 100%. It was a very pleasant experience!

Lovely ocean view and can hear the rolling waves with the sliding door open. You can easily walk to the main street and beach front. - Comfy beds - Clean rooms & cute california style throughout lobby and rooms - Check in woman was very friendly, and explained everything about our stay - Welcome drinks - Pet friendly ! Cons - Our room was not serviced for our 2 night stay. We removed our dnd sign from 11-3 and no one came. For $600 a night this is wild to me that our mats were still wet and no coffee refilled, I didn't see the cleaning staff once throughout our stay. - There is no true restaurant at this hotel. Bites and drinks but no substantial meals. Wasn't surprising to see takeout bags all throughout the halls. - As others stated $75 a night parking fee is wild but you can take your car out as much as you like since there is no Valet - zero amenities in the room -- you have to pay for toothbrush, no water bottles or even carafes of water. Overall the staff, outside of the lovely check in woman were essentially non existent. No cleaners, and even in the morning there were 2 men but they didn't greet or acknowledge anyone. Again for $300 it would be fine and expected but for $600 and on some days even $1K a night on the 4th of July this is wildly overpriced for what you get.

The housekeeper is excellent. My room was extremely clean for the duration of my stay. The gentleman who checked me out at the end of my stay was very pleasant. However, I am only giving three stars because first impressions are lasting and the woman who was working the Office check-in desk when I arrived made me feel like an annoyance who was interrupting her work. She was efficient but less than welcoming during the check-in process. Unfortunately, I had to interact with this woman two more times during my stay and each interaction was equally unpleasant. My goal in staying at The Tides was to destress but she made me feel like "Bad Dog". Soon after checking in, I had to return to the Office to ask for assistance with accessing the WiFi and a day later, I had to ask for assistance with accessing the pool. I assumed that I needed to use my hotel key to open the gate to the pool. The Office woman made me feel like a fool when she rolled her eyes and said in a tone that I interpreted as exasperated, "There's a latch at the upper top corner of the gate." She was right. There was a latch but it was painted the same color as the gate and I didn't notice it. I only noticed the key hole. My bad. As I floated in the pool, I said to myself, "You are Bad Dog." Someone needs to explain to this Office woman that without these pesky visitors, her business will have no customers and she will have no job.
