I'm getting more adventurous in exploring the menu here at Arandas MX Cocina. My recent visit, I tried the, Pollo Feliz and I can honestly say, it may be a future go-to or at least in my top 3 choices. Polo Feliz is one of their chicken specialties. It's a grilled chicken breast with shrimp. They serve it on a bed of mushrooms, onions, bell peppers and melted cheese. On a second plate, it is served with rice, beans, salad and tortillas. It was so much food, I could not clean my plate. The chicken breast and shrimp were excellent. They were seasoned and grilled perfectly. Honestly, when I order it the next time, I may tell them to hold the second plate, except for the tortillas. The service is always good and when it's super busy, I don't mind sitting at the bar. Being a single diner, I hate tying up a table or booth when they could sit a larger group. Arandas is on the backside of my subdivision, I can easily walk there. I'm going to check and see if their new patio is dog friendly. If so, my fur-baby and I may become regulars. read more

Smaller Mexican restaurant located in Godfrey. The facility is clean, recently remodeled with both booths and tables. Service was quick and friendly. The food was ok. Standard Midwest Mexican food offerings. I went with the combo plate. The options for fillings were ground beef, shredded chicken (more like chunks than shredded) or cheese. Anyone that has ever been to Texas or California (or even Chipotle or Qdoba) knows that real Mexican food has different types of meats to choose from, not the Taco Bell quickie menu options. I did like the rice. The chips were a little stale, the salsa was fine and I'm not sure what the sweet tasting dipping sauce was. The margarita lacked in taste. I was hoping for something that would make me want to drive back here again but it was a lot like all the others I passed to get here. read more

Solid 5 stars for our first visit! We were greeted promptly with chips, salsa and a delicious dip. Drink cups are massive which I always appreciate as a thirsty person! Food was fantastic. Server was very attentive. Booths are pretty large & nice high backs. Decor is interesting with various facts that I appreciated reading! It was pretty busy when we went so the noise level was up some, but nothing unexpected for the amount of folks there. Bathrooms spotless. We will be back! read more

Went here for a Sunday lunch date, ordered a margarita which was so good. The queso, salsa, and crema was good as well. BF got a chimichanga and hard shell taco. Taco was soggy. Chimi was meh. Also had the steak fajita, steak was burnt but there was a lot of it. Rice was tasteless, I have had better rice other places. Overall it was decently edible but have had better Mexican at other places. Waitress only came to check once during the meal, had to ask repeatedly for refills. The food was excellent! I had the Burrito Real, my friend had the Chicken Over Rice. The flavor of mine had a wonderful smoky flavor I wasn't expecting but was SO GOOD! The lunch menu is a little limited, but not too bad. The full dinner menu is huge. The server was attentive, but not smothering. Very nicely decorated, we never felt rushed, even though we sat and talked for an hour or more. We will definitely go there again soon! read more

We always get carry out here so can't speak on the ambiance of the restaurant. But the food is always delicious, and a good size portion. Employees are friendly and always smiling. read more

Food was amazing service was impressive and nice ambiance. The music was upbeat and not to loud. There was one couple there when we got there and then 30 minutes later every table was taken. I had the chicken soup which was nice on a snowy day. Their portions are not overwhelming which is great. If you have not been here I say GO ASAP! read more

My husband and I just tried this new restaurant. It's been a few other things so the first thing that wowed me on arrival was the decor. It has been remodeled and has a wonderful ambiance. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server brought out chips, salsa, and kind of a sweeter version of ranch. My husband ordered the street tacos that came with rice and beans. I had the burrito and taco combination that came with rice, beans, and a small corn muffin. I also ordered the cheese dip. We just had tea and soda to drink but there were some cool looking drinks being made at the bar. The food was delicious. Server was attentive and efficient. Jalapeño fajitas were really good. Very spicy which I like. Salsa and "dip" with chips not that good.

I was so looking forward to a decent Mexican restaurant but was so disappointed by the experience. I was seated at a table right next to where they stacked the dirty dishes. Pretty disgusting. From there things went rapidly down hill. The salsa (served with chips) was so mild as to be flavorless. They also brought out a small dish of commercial ranch dressing to serve with the chips. Kind of an odd choice. I ordered a taco salad with chicken. For $12.00 it had to be smallest taco salad on record. The flour tortilla bowl was about the size of a small cereal bowl. Moreover they served the salad on a red hot heated platter that was so hot as to be untouchable. As a result the sour cream melted and collected in the bottom of the tortilla creating a watery mess. This had to be the worst taco salad I have ever been served. It was actually way below the quality that I have been served in fast food Mexican restaurants. If I could give this place a lower rating then one star, I would. That said, let the buyer beware. read more
