It was Tuesday, so I had to have tacos. My favorite taco recently has been shrimp. Most of the places I frequent, add large grilled tacos. I was surprised to see small shrimp bites here at Casa Romero. They may have been small, but the flavor was still huge and enjoyable. I'd order them again. When I arrived, I was pleasantly greeted and told I could sit any where I wanted. I chose a booth and was quickly served complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were crisp and warm, which tells me they were super fresh. The salsa had just enough spice and was thick enough to cling to the chip when dipping. Before my entree, I also enjoyed a Top Shelf Margarita and an order of Bean Dip. The Margarita was strong. It was strong enough that I only had one and I typically enjoy two. An order of Bean Dip for me is much more enjoyable than a side of Cheese Dip or Guacamole. The mixture of white cheese and refried beans, doubles the flavor. The ambiance is your typical, bright Mexican colors and sorta tacky decor. For my own personal preference, I could dim the lights a tad. Our typical go to Mexican restaurant for carry out was closed today, so we tried Casa Romero. I had the chicken, cheese and rice plate and it was not bad, though not as flavorful as some other places, however huge portion size - I ate 1/2 for lunch and saved the rest (photo is about 1/2 of what they served for 1 plate). My child had the chicken chimichanga & said it was good. My husband had the chicken fajitas - he was impressed with how much meat he got, and had lots leftover after lunch. He noted the veggies were fresh. We all thought the chips tasted a little oily / greasy, but we still enjoyed them overall. The salsa was mild & tasty, pretty flavorful. I'd give 10 stars if I could, we aren't from the area, just here for my husbands work, and the delivery driver came directly to our camper, which even the mail man can't seem to do. The estimated delivery time was almost an hour and a half and we are about 3 miles away, but our food was here in about 30 minutes. Casa Romero has the best Mexican food around, hands down. Not only that, the staff is fast and friendly. We feel like family every time we're there. We always have our birthday or anniversary celebrations at Casa Romero. The food is excellent and the environment always friendly. The margaritas are a must. Be sure to ask for "Texas" style. You will not be disappointed (but make sure you have a DD.) Ask for the cheese dipping sauce when you order your drinks. It is amazing! Get some guac too if you're a fan. I love the fajitas. They come in Steak, Shrimp, Chicken or combo. They come with onions, tomatoes, and green peppers, but they are happy to add extra or take out any veggies. And I cover mine in their cheese sauce. Delicious! The kids love their cheese quesadilla and of course there are always chicken strips and fries or pizza if they aren't feeling the Mexican vibe. My fiance' loves the Steak and Shrimp. He also gets the Queso Fundido as an appetizer sometimes. It's cheese sauce and Chorizo (Mexican sausage) on a skillet. They will give you tortillas, but we eat ours with the chips. I had a terrific experience here on Cinco de Mayo this year! It was of course very crowded, got the last parking space we could find without much walking distance. It was packed, and we had to wait but our wait was very short. Lots of margarita flavors to choose from- and I did see a monster sized margarita at another table but I opted for the jumbo which looked more manageable. Our waiter was very friendly and continued to check on us as we had drinks and waited on the rest of our party to arrive. My food was delicious and served piping hot.
