When I am craving Mexican food, Chapala is one of the restaurants that is in my rotation. My recent visit had me enjoying the, Chipotle Mango Tacos with Shrimp. I honestly don't know how it happened, but shrimp tacos are now my favorite taco. This one knocked my shoes off, it was that good. It was a simple taco, filled with shrimp, avocado slices, cheese and chipotle mango sauce. As most Mexican meals, it came with a side of Rice and Beans. I enjoyed a Regular Margarita and a Peach Margarita. The Peach one was recommended by another diner sitting at the bar. I always sit at the end of the bar and have two Margaritas. One accompanies my chips and salsa and the other goes with my entree. That's my logic and I am sticking with it. The staff is always friendly and helpful and when it is super busy on a Taco Tuesday, they hustle to make sure everyone is happy. read more

Used to be a big fan however prices were recently raised 15-20% while food quality and service has gotten worse. Even though it wasn't busy half of the food was delivered after the other half of the table was finished. No refills offered on drinks or salsa. Chips tasted store bought. Too many good Mexican restaurants in the area to return to Chapalas. read more

We came here in the afternoon on February 5, 2026, with a group while visiting family, and it ended up being such a great experience. Our server, Cesar, was outstanding -friendly, attentive, and incredibly on top of everything. He handled our group so smoothly and made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. This visit was especially meaningful because we were celebrating a family moment, and the staff really helped make it feel special. My mom had such a great time and truly felt special, which meant a lot to all of us. Beyond Cesar, the entire team was welcoming and kind. There's a really positive energy in the restaurant, and it shows in how they treat their guests. Great food, great service, and just an overall really enjoyable experience. Everything about this place is great! The food was 10/10, the service was excellent, the decor and ambiance is beautiful, portion size and presentation were great, we had a lovely time here. You absolutely have to try their tacos al pastor. They are the best I have ever had. Will definitely be back. read more

Came here yesterday with family after a golf tournament. Figured we should try Chapala since we are staying in the hotel. I ordered a sweet tea to drink and it had a lemon on it and that automatically earns a star. For food, I got the number 10 combo which is a chimichanga and enchilada along with rice and beans. And a very surprising cornbread muffin which GETS A STAR. I am an expert at enchiladas and I mean it when I say that was a SOLID cheese enchilada. Gimme a star for that one The chicken inside of the chimichanga was good but a little bland. Cesar our server was amazing, he dapped us all up and he was very wonderful with his energy and enthusiasm. I hope to visit again. BUT before I end this review, I must say something about the hotel because I can't find it on yelp. This restaurant was recommended to me by several friends and family. I finally got a chance to visit and I was glad I did. The interior is very spacious, clean and well decorated. Our server, Ceasar, was excellent. Never had an empty glass. Was always checking on the table and was very personable. Excellent service. Now on to the food. This is definitely a hidden gem. I'll start off with chips and salsa. My wife and I enjoy a less chunky salsa. The salsa here is exactly the kind that we like. It was delicious. The chips were hot and the bowl and chips always stayed full. I ordered the House fajitas and they were phenomenal. Shrimp was cooked perfect as well as the chicken, chorizo and the steak. My wife ordered the steak street tacos and said that they were some of the best that she's ever had. My son ordered the ribeye steak and shrimp and he loved it. Everything that we had was great. Great new spot to get your Mexican favorites. Newly remodeled in a nice large space. Service was excellent. They have an extensive menu to satisfy all your food and beverage needs. Lots of frozen drinks and imported beers to go along with the south of the border foods. We will be back soon. read more

We visited this restaurant several times as we were staying in the hotel. The staff is friendly and greet you upon arrival. They immediately asked for our drink orders and brought over warm chips and salsa. Each and every time we visited, this was the same level of service we got. We were able to try some of the food options and they were all delicious. I even took back the fried ice cream to our hotel room two days in a row. Casar was very thoughtful and kind as we received some news that our kitty at home with sick. He could tell I was a little distraught and came over and put his hand on my back and told me everything would be OK. Well, we are home now and everything is fine, but that just meant the world to us. We will definitely be visiting this restaurant next time we come back home to St. Louis. read more

This place is so good! Second time eating here and it was just as good and tasty as last time. Also, I recommend the quesadilla birria! It was so good. My waitress, Cesaer, was the most nicest guy i've ever met! He needs a raise or bonus! He filled up my drinks and always checked on us! (i drank 4 or 5 cups of water). Great and quick service. The salsa is really good, just the right amount of spice. All of our party enjoyed our food. I had the Quesadilla Supremo, plenty of chicken, and a great portion.
