We have been wanting to try this Market for a while. We ordered take out. We ordered chicken and beef kebab plates. They were delicious, the meat was fresh and seasoned well, they give you a great serving of rice pilaf, and the salad was fresh with the most beautiful red tomatoes. We will definitely be returning. I enjoyed looking around the market as well. Being half Armenian, I'm excited to know I am able to get some of my baking ingredients there. The family is very nice and welcoming. This is a grocery store and take out restaurant. First you must order ahead of time and pick up. I had the chicken kebab (meat seasoned well but baked in oven and therefore no char) that came with rice pilaf which was a little dry, garlic sauce(very good) and cucumber salad (average). Also had hummus that was below average, I can make better. I would go back only to grocery shop to cook at home. read more

I went to this market first time today. Nice small market. Owners were nice too! I ordered a family combo tray for $40, the rice was awesome and so were the 4 types of meats in the tray( chicken , beef, pork and lamb) also came with pita bread and your choice of hummus or garlic Sauce for the dip, I haven't tried garlic sauce yet so I chose that over hummus. When I came home and opened the tray I thought the amount of meat given would not be enough for us (2 adults, 2 kids), but to my surprise the food was filling and there is enough left over that it will be our dinner as well. Everything was so good, I love the rice and out of the meats, I loved the lamb and beef ( they were all good btw) . I also bought some beef and chicken dumplings from the freezer section, hope my kids will like that. read more

Best place to stock up on East European and Arminian food in Fresno area. The square footage is not big, but it has all the goodies larger places have, however this store is super-clean, and everything is fresh. People who work there are honest and friendly. I love their baba and garlic sauce. I have only ever had the chicken kebab which is usually good. Others have noted the chicken can be chewy but its moist and they use breast meat. All in all the owners are friendly and its a good value. read more

This is such an incredible market!!! A true treasure in Clovis. Such a great assortment of quality imported products. Great house made food too! We ordered a couple wraps and entree plates that had outstanding flavor. The rice pilaf was my favorite and the beef was amazing. I shopped around while I waited for our order and I was able to find a great deal on halloumi cheese (which is hard to find to begin with). I found some spices that are hard to find as well like sumac and zaatar. I also decided to splurge and buy some kielbasy and French butter. I even snagged some beautiful fresh local produce. This place has it all from all over the world and local too. Wish more places like this were here in Clovis/Fresno area! I will be going back soon and often!!! read more

Passing through on travel. Saw the 5 star rating on yelp and couldn't agree more. Meals in our pary- chicken shish kabob, pork shish plate, lamb plate- all of us agreed our meals were delicious. We eat Mediterranean food often, and agreed this place is at the top of our list. It's a market where you walk up to a counter and order. Only downside is there are only 2 tables outside to eat on. We went in July and it was too hot to eat outside so we ate in the car. Totally worth it though. Highly recommend this place. read more

I recently visited this hidden gem in Clovis California. I catered A company celebration. The owner was very helpful and she exceeded my expectations. I work across the street from Ararat Market and have had their food before, which is delicious. Since I did not have time to take a lunch hour today I figured I would drive over there real quick and pick up a kebob plate. I guess I was naïve to think I could accomplish this in about 15ish minutes since I work so close. BIG MISTAKE. I walked into the market which was an uncomfortable 90 something degrees inside (no air running whatsoever). I had to wait about 5 minutes or a little more for the woman in front of me to order. I then placed my order, paid and was told it would be about TWENTY MINUTES. If I had not already paid, I would have told them never mind but then I thought surely it could not take 20 minutes to put a to go container with rice, salad and a kabob together, could it? Since I had already paid, I just sort of stood back against the cooler and tried to stay out of the way of others in the tiny and uncomfortable store until my order was ready. There is not only nowhere to sit down, there is nowhere to GO. You are trapped in this tiny market, in everyone's way that is also coming in to shop/place an order. At 5 minutes I was starting to sweat from the heat and looking for a hair tie to pull my hair up because I was so uncomfortable. 5 minutes turned to 10, then 15, then 20 and then finally at 25 minutes later (and with only one other person/order in front of me) the lady at the counter went in the back and came back with my food. She asked me if I needed any forks and I was so frustrated I told her I didn't need ANYTHING but to get back to my office since I'd been in their store for 30 minutes at that point. So, while their food is indeed delicious, DO NOT go here if you need to get in and out quickly or in any kind of efficient manner. By the time I got back to my office I had been gone for 35 minutes instead of the 15 minutes I had originally said I would be gone. Admittedly, the food is really great BUT they need some work on the delivery of that food. Perhaps a start would be to enlist the help of the men in the back who we could see just aimlessly wandering around during the busy lunch hour rush. I will continue to enjoy their food when my company caters it in for meetings but I will NEVER go back there on my own and order just one plate of food. read more

This hidden little gem is amazing! The staff is very friendly and the food is always on point - fresh, juicy (as far as the meat goes) and flavorful. It's about $8-$10 per plate but totally worth it because you get large portions. I've yet to try everything they have to offer, but so far I've had the chicken kabob plate and the Greek salad which have both been tasty every time. Don't even get me started on the Sochi Cheese Bread either. It's an amazing melt-in-your-mouth creation of eggy, cheesy goodness all baked together on fresh bread. Seriously, it will change your life. If you're in a hurry, call your order in about 20 minutes ahead of time and it should be ready by the time you get there, otherwise you may have to wait a while as the food is prepared fresh. One last thing - DON'T go down the street to Tofa's Mediterranean grill which is walking distance from this place. Why? Because that's what I did before I gave this place a try and found out you'll pay the same prices for half the amount of food (which is mediocre at best in terms of flavor) and the service is poor. read more

Incredible food, sweet family run business! The counter lady is so adorable and nice, she always makes sure my order is perfect before I go, and throws a free candy bar in if I bring the kiddos. Best to order ahead if you are busy or are in a rush, because this tiny place can be packed!
