FINALLY! I've been wanting to eat here for EVER. Thought I would get to go for my birthday this year but they closed for remodeling! So we decided to go for an early Mothers Day dinner on Saturday. OH MY LANTA! Ok, I'm a fan of Korean food anyway, but this was above and beyond. One of the best dinners I've had in a long, long time. I'm glad we had a reservation; it was way busy. The service was prompt and our server was super nice. We started with crab tofu which was so good I actually thought about picking up the plate and licking it. My kids both loved their food- udon for the girl, the SCSS Sandwich for the boy. Husband had the pork bulgogi (Best bulgogi I've ever had, by miles!) and I had the seafood dol sot hot pot bibimbop which I loved. The seafood was a large portion and perfectly cooked. There was a really nice balance of flavors and textures. It was exactly spicy enough for me without being too much (they serve a hot sauce with it but I didn't use that because I'm a bit of a wuss). The crispy rice at the bottom of the pot was the best part though. All of the banchan dishes were delicious too but the standout there was the kimchi. I wonder if they make their own. It was a thing of beauty! The portions were large and the food came out really fast. I am excited to go back when it's warmer and sit out on their pretty patio. Arario was one of the best food experiences I've had in Reno, hands down. The service was great, however the wait to get in was about 45 minutes, which I believe is typical of this place, because of how good it is. I would recommend getting a reservation unless you're willing to wait. I got the teriyaki bowl and my girlfriend got the spicy pork bulgogi bowl. Each of these were some of the best food I've had in a very long time. The flavors were absolutely incredible and melted together in your mouth. The environment was also good, and everything looks very classy and modern inside. The bar area looks like it would be nice to give a try as well. No need to go to over priced steakhouses in the casinos, just stop by this cute little restaurant in midtown, great prices and flavors. This is the first restaurant in Reno that I've visited since February, before all the closures and restrictions began. I saw that it was favorably rated and the food options were definitely to my liking, so I made a reservation for my folks visiting from out of town for Saturday night. We were seated inside at a comfy booth and were soon greeted by our energetic, very delightful server Maria who made our dining experience that much more enjoyable! To start, we ordered the porky pops and potstickers along with cocktails, I got the "Faust," a potent but well-balanced rum-based drink. The drinks and appetizers were superb, kudos to the kitchen staff and the bartender! For the main course, we got the pork bulgogi, miso black cod and chicken bulgogi. Finally made it into the restaurant for dinner. It's nice, casual relaxed atmosphere. Seated right away but take note - even with 2 people you need a reservation to get a booth or nice table. We didn't have one and we were seated right next to the kitchen (with open door) and it was very noisy! We got there at 5:15 and there were only a couple other people there, so really no reason to put us at a crappy table, but my complaints end there. Once our waitress came, it was easy to ignore the bad table. She was an absolute delight. She was fast, personable, friendly and knowledgeable. She got our drink orders going and suggested the "gogi" bowl and we were happy customers. The beer was only $5 (thank you for not gouging like every other midtown bar/restaurant) and it was great. The food was so good. I mean really the best. I think I heard they are closing for an update (maybe taking the carpet off the floors?) But looking forward to going back later. Watching the Olympics, we felt inspired to get into the spirit of the host country and headed over to Arario for the first time. We were so happy we did! From the moment we walked in and even though it was busy, we felt welcomed. Our server took great care of us, told us about the different dishes and brought us four different complimentary, yummy appetizer bites (radishes, kimchi, seaweed and zucchini) while we waited for our order. After reading all the great reviews about their kimchee fries, we were hoping to try them but did not want bulgogi because we do not eat meat. No problem! They made them for us vegetarian style and they were delicious! I would have been satisfied with just those! For mains, my husband ordered the Poke Bowl, my daughter had the Arario Udon and I decided on having the Miso Black Cod. We all shared tastes and thought the presentation of each dish was beautiful. Plenty of food! I think the next time I go, I may focus on the tapas because that is my favorite way to eat, small plates, and there are many more things I'd like to try. read more

We have been to this restaurant 2 times before and we loved the service and food is great, however we tried going this past weekend on Saturday and the guy they had as a host was not very helpful and he was giving us the runaround on the phone and when we arrived, he was not very friendly either. The space was nice and had indoor and outdoor seat available. The service was good as well I didnt feel as if we needed to ask for much which is always a plus. The food all sounded good and they had alot of cool options so we ordered a few dishes. The best was the Beef Galbi and the geso. Surprisingly the brussel sprouts was a hit as well. The rest of the items were nothing special. One was a beef sandwich but on ciabatta and impossible to eat right as it fell apart. The others were rice plates that had way to much filler and none of the good stuff. Nice ambiance. The bar and decor was perfect. Food was so good. Poke was perfect. The tofu soup and udon soup was perfect for This weather. Wasn't a fan of the bulgogi beef because it was too sweet. Something I was wondering was about parking and no one seemed to have mentioned it here.. So, there is a very small parking lot behind the building, maybe 8ish cars, and if it's full there is another parking lot about a street behind which is 2hrs during business weekdays. There is street parking, but you'll need to be comfortable parallel parking :) Oh and bathrooms aren't inside the restaurant. It's downstairs under the most left staircases. Sometimes they will be locked so ask your server for the code. Other than that- this new Korean fusion place is worth trying. There are a lot of great things to try such as the Arancini- basically a fried kimchi rice ball, and their fusion of beef bulgogi pasta. The burger they offer is pretty tasty too! He says that this is the best Korean food he has ever tried. We ordered the shrimp tempura, fried tofu, grilled squid, japchae, tofu and shrimp soup, fried rice, bibimbap, donut dessert, .... the list could go on (mainly because my husband wasn't disappointed with anything and was determined to try more and more. I stopped here on a jury duty break, our server knew our time constraints and was able to work around our tight schedule to get everything on the table quickly without sacrificing a bit on flavor. I was excited to try japchae after hearing about it and the dish certainly lives up to the hype, I really enjoyed my lunch! Everything I tried here was delicious and I'd most definitely recommend checking this spot out, I doubt you'll be disappointed (if you like Korean/Asian food). The only odd thing was that you had to walk out of the restaurant, down some stairs and into a hallway where you put in a pass-code just to get to the restroom but I suppose that all the restaurants in the complex use the centralized restroom so it wasn't much of a bother to me. read more

Came in at 8:30 pm and was warmly welcomed. This place was still busy with tables and 2 bar tops almost full. Its on the 2nd floor with spacious outdoor seating, but tonight is too cold. Had the teriyaki chicken on rice with cheese, egg, green stuff and scallions. The chicken pieces were thick 4" strips of a huge breast piece. This teriyaki is not sweet, savory shoyu type. A very mild almost yellow sauce. The bibimbap was served in a hot stone bowl that crisped up the rice that was on the bottom to a nutty snack. The egg on top made it perfect. The food remained hot until the last bites. The opener pickled were very different, aside from the kim chee. I liked the pink pickled cabbage the best.
