Had a great night out at Arboleda! First off, the service was great! Wish I remembered our server's name, she was friendly and available without being overbearing. She helped me select the Cabana Boy cocktail and was happy to swap it out if it wasn't to my liking. It was tasty, unique, and had a fun smoky presentation. We shared several small plates and everything was yummy. We started off with the foie gras cones, very rich but a fun start to the meal. The beet salad and patatas bravas were also super flavorful and I would recommend ordering! The meatballs were good but I wouldn't say are a must-order. We hit the jackpot as we found this place while we were in Scottsdale. The bartender, Ali, took amazing care of us and made us glad we decided to stay at the bar instead of sitting at a table to enjoy the tapas offerings. She did a great job of making suggestions, and describing the flavor of the dishes as we were deciding what to order. My husband and I both started with a mezcalita - a great beverage with Smokey mezcal and a little kick with their house-made chipotle salt on the rim. We started snacking with the Mediterranean olives and the hummus with feta from the happy hour menu and they were a great way to start. Then we tried the sourdough tomato toast. We ordered two of the whipped smoked salmon cones which packed great flavor, but they were definitely a quick bite! Then we had the lamb meatballs where the flavor of the meat was great and the sauce that accompanied them was outstanding and really made the dish. Ok here's my thing. This restaurant has such a cute vibe, very dark and lowkey and romantic and they have a few unique menu items and a few hit and miss ones. The food is good if you order what people are saying is good though! I came with a large group so we all ordered a bit of everything. And here's my honest review. The fried stuff could be more fried. Most of it was not that crispy and got soggy easily from their fillings or toppings. The meats were the real stars of the show. I got the iberico pork and it was like having a cross between delicious bacon and the most tender steak you've ever had. I was very impressed with the quality. However it was served with this bitty salad and overall I was not full by the end of the meal. They also had lamb meatballs that had great flavor and pairs so well with the sauce and pickled vegetables but again it's not a full meal. As for the tapas they are only good for sharing between two or three people so you may have to order a lot in a group. And sides don't come with the mains so you're either paying for a lot of dishes or hitting up the drive through on the way home haha. So here's a perspective of a (proud) solo diner: Don't let the tapas fool you, you're still going to have a good time and a great meal! If you're an aesthetic junkie, I HIGHLY recommend coming after dark. The restaurant aesthetic plays heavily on the balance of shapes (primarily curves carried throughout arches, sconces, and interior trees), textures, concentrated light, glass and pops of strategically placed color. The playlist accompanies the clinking of glasses and bushels of laughter in light conversation, and as a solo diner, you'll find yourself at home at the full service bar. As an old fashioned girly, I love the cherry foam element (a clever use of man chino cherry residue juice). If you're not into sweet spirits, perhaps order it without. The ricotta toast is a perfect start to any evening- crisp, and luxuriously creamy, well seasoned, and savory (thanks tomato). The potatas bravas...I mean how are you going to hate on potatoes. There's certainly enough to share with three or more. Vibrant is the word that come to mind when I think of The squid ink fettuccine. Certainly the standout of the night! Let's be honest- butter has a way of making most dishes irresistible, but the vibrancy of this sauce alongside the crisp near vegetal crisp from the basil crunch bring this one home. My friend and I shared some dishes to try a little bit of everything. -Patatas Bravas: It wasn't crispy and tasted alright. It was mid. -Turkey Empanadas: I wasn't a fan of the shredded turkey, it was weird and didn't go well together. -Lamb Meatballs: It was one of the better dishes that we tried. Although, I've made a very similar lamb meatball at home before, so I didn't think it was anything special. -Fritto Misto: Basically vegetable tempura. It was really crispy! I wasn't a huge fan of either of the sauces though. -Beet Salad: I love beet salads, but it was so overpriced. I had a wonderful first taste of Arboleda at lunch last week... I say "first" as I'll definitely be back! I'd been wanting to try Arboleda since it first opened, so when Hailey P suggested we meet there for lunch, I was all in. I made a reservation a week before for our party of three and the process was seamless. I lucked out with great parkma (parking karma) when I pulled up and found a spot right outside of the restaurant too... Service was super attentive. Jorge was our server. We enjoyed starters including gambas píl píl, crispy vegetable chips, and the house-made dip of the day, which was a baba ganoush on the day of our visit. After those starters, we all decided to go with salads for our main course. Two of us with the greek salad appetizer and one with the chef's chopped salad main. Note: the greek salad is a smaller portion as you'd expect from an appetizer and the chopped is more than double the size, hence it being an "entree salad." All were fresh, colorful, and delicious! Ambiance at lunch was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant is colorful, warm and welcoming and I'm sure when it's not a random week day lunch in the middle of the summer, the place is jamming with a super fun vibe. The hummus served with pita bread was decent. For our entrees we shared the pork and cavatelli. Very fatty, very flavourful, and very delicious. My cholesterol needed to be checked after the meal. The dining experience was a little odd. First an outsider came up to our table and asked us to sign a petition for something. This place is such a great vibe. I went here for dinner with friends and we all had a great experience. I want to give a shout out to our server Jorge, he did an amazing job servicing our table. His recommendations on certain items on the menu were spot on. For drinks I ordered the Sparkling prosecco (recommended by Jorge) I was very pleased with this drink. I was torn between the prosecco and the Sangria. Next time I go back I'm just going to have to get both drinks. I hate seeing Sangria on a menu and not ordering it. For my entree, I had the10oz marble filet mignon, the recommended cook on this was medium and that's what I did. OMG!!! the steak was cooked perfectly, it was so nice and tender. Saw others who had posted on TikTok and Yelp of how they loved this restaurant so we decided to try it ourselves and let me say this we weren't disappointed one bit. Arrived with reservations at 7pm and noticed the restaurant wasn't that busy upon walking in the front door. We were greeted, welcomed and sat immediately by our hostess, not the greatest indoor seating (was a bit warm outside for patio seating so we chose indoor) and sat near the restrooms, but this was a blessing in disguise. I ordered the black barrel old fashion with cherry foam on top and had to be one of my favorite drinks of the evening. I ordered the whipped smoked salmon cones and was impressed with the presentation and light / delicate flavor of the salmon and crunchy cones. We split the chopped salad (trust me this is enough for 2 to share) and we both couldn't say enough about how delicious it was and is on our agenda to order again the next time we come. We split the grouper and it was cooked to perfection with perfectly cooked potatoes and lovely aioli that didn't mask the flavor of the fish. Finishing off the evening with the complimentary baked Arizona & chocolate valhrona cake. If there's one dessert you must try it's their baked Arizona. Deliciously baked apples, ice cream (not your basic blue bunny) but hand crafted that's made with love. None of this matched to what we experienced by meeting the owners / brothers Steven and Mitch who took the time to talk with us about their journey from San Francisco to open this restaurant a year ago and what an amazing story it was. Wow, what a night! The food was beyond excellent. They take such care into crafting these recipes. I got to talk with Chef Evan of the stories behind how some of them came together and they really do put the love into them! The Patatas Bravas were excellent, great crunch on the outside and so soft inside! The Iberico Pork...OMG it's a special type of pork, raised on acorns alone and strict guidelines to be true Iberico. The restaurant is beautiful, I genuinely loved the cozy decor- the lush seating and dark colours. The staff was personable- our server was very sweet and ensured all our questions were answered. This is a 1 year old restaurant in Scottsdale Quarter. The menu intrigued us; these chefs brought their San Francisco style and sophisticated food with them. The restaurant is big and beautifully appointed. We went on a weekday and ate an early dinner when it was not crowded. We were seated at a table with banquette seating. I sat on the banquette side; cushions were plastic and not very comfortable. We decided to share as many dishes as we could. Starters: Hamachi‐ Carrot puree, crispy brussel sprout, chili garlic crunch, and a vinaigrette. Empanada‐ filled with chicken & served with a mojo picon sauce,  Charred octopus - served with spicy pickled persian cucumbers. These starters were delicious; the presentation was beautiful. The sauces that accompanied each dish were complimentary to the protein. The empanandas were crisp, filled with creamy chicken, and the mojo picon sauce added the needed acid without overwhelming. The hamachi was tender and delicious. The charred octopus was cut into bite-sized pieces and was perfectly cooked with the char flavor. Salad: Chopped salad-romaine, mortadella, provolone, sundried tomatoes, gigante beans in a light red wine vinaigrette. This salad was an understated winner. I loved the cubes of mortadella and provolone and the zing added by the sun-dried tomatoes. The gigante italian beans were creamy and not mushy. Perfect lead in to our main dish. Main Dish- Pappardelle with short rib ragout, with grana padano. The pappardelle were light and cooked perfectly. The tender beef short rib ragu was so rich and yet light. The entire dish was showered in finely grated padano. Mama mia am I in Italy? Desert‐ Baked arizona‐angel food cake, prickley pear sorbet, lemon sherbet, bruleed meringue with a prickly pear syrup poured over. This is a riff on baked alaska. This was a softball sized desert of angel food wrapped in bruleed meringue. The prickly pear syrup was poured onto the desert table side. This was the perfect way to finish our meal. What a treat! This is one of the few places in the valley to get actual Spanish tapas. The space itself is stunning with hardwood accents and a tree at the focal point of the dining room. The whole place felt as if you're in the living room of an upscale Spanish villa. Service was immediately attentive and warm. Our favorites were the patatas bravas, the orecchiette pasta, and the mushrooms. Most of the menu was able to be modified to be gluten free which was fantastic. The spaghetti noodles they subbed on the orecchiette were so tasty that we asked the server the brand and she brought out the box so we could take a picture. The uno mas cocktail was bright and refreshing and the sangria packed a punch and was not too sweet. I heard about this restaurant when it first opened but waited to come to check it out. It doesn't disappoint the food is delicious and the service is impecable. We had lunch at the bar and the papas bravas are out of this world. My hubby had the burger and fries (yes fries are very good). All hits, no misses ! One of the few times I've walked out of a restaurant fully satisfied. From the service to the menu, sheer perfection. We were dining out with my 80 year old in laws who are still very careful about COVID but have slowly been trying to get back out. We expressed this with the restaurant and they gave us the best seat for them, corner, outdoor and semi-secluded. Every single dish was amazing and we tried a lot ! The Charred Octopus, Gambas Shrimp, Squid Ink Fettuccine, Olive Spheres, salmon, Spicy Lobster Spaghetti, and Carbonara. The chef(s) has an adept hand with seasoning and cookery. It was soooo goood. Came in for happy hour and was seated right away by a very friendly host! It was really cute inside, but the food wasn't all that great. The patio is pet friendly which is a plus! I got the dreamsicle drink and it was a 5/5, then got the sure thing, which was pretty nutty tasting, I was not a fan. I usually LOVE olives, but the mediterranean olives just weren't it - they were heated up, which was odd and not mentioned on the menu. As weird as this sounds, the nduja ricotta toast tasted very sweet, with a cotton candy texture strangely enough. The dip of the day was hummus and that was pretty good - but only came with one piece of pita, that was not cut up, which was weird. Also, got the arboleda burger, which wasn't my favorite burger, but I think others could enjoy it. I would come back for drinks, but not the food. read more

Arboleda The menu has small plate options, that are great for sharing, and trying an array of Cusine, or do what we did, we ordered 4 small plates and each of us ordered an entree, it was perfect, but if you're not as hungry as we were the small plates are pretty generously sized for one. It seems like the same flavor profile has made its way into many of the restaurants, making the dishes good, but getting rather boring, my tastebuds almost can predict what something is going to taste like, before popping it in my mouth. .Arboleda did an amazing job of switching things up! The menu is exciting, and best of all the dishes surprised my tastebuds, we were all so excited over each dish that came to our table! Some of the highlights we had was the Croquetas De Jamon Iberico, phenomenal! Hamachi Crudo, this dish was the most surprising, a whole new flavor profile, so dang good!
