I have so many things to say... One, as an aviation fan I have wanted to go here since I moved to AZ. It did not disappoint - this is actually a second-story restaurant so you can see the runway and planes! I'll note it is at the far end of the runway, so it would be MOST ideal to sit outside at the end of the patio for plane watching. Two, the service was impeccable on a Saturday for brunch. Is everyone who works here in a good mood? The energy is bright, light and airy, the service is attentive but low pressure. Three, they LOVE PETS. I'm not a pet owner but while I was there two people brought their pets along and one was a golden retriever puppy. This wouldn't matter but puppies can obviously cause a nuisance indoors - this staff did not mind. They were not in a slow service part of the day but they treated the pets like patrons and it actually created a really relaxed, collaborative atmosphere. I will note this though because if you're not an animal lover/ are afraid of dogs, their acceptance is a little more than the typical "pets outside" policy. Four, the food. It was beyond exceptional, and it's funny because the typical airport diner isn't elevated. But this is Scottsdale, and we had really delicious, beautiful food - actually fine dining presentation but in these cute mismatched kitschy dishes which brought it back down home. Lastly for anyone who loves birding, you wouldn't think an airport is a great spot but there is actually wildly diverse population of birds in the Volanti entrance. Trust me. I would not only love to go back but I think bringing a visitor here would be the best time. read more

I surprised my dad here with a weekday happy hour Father's Day dinner. He's a huge fan of airplanes so I knew this would be such a fun and unique dine for him. We booked a reservation ahead of time so we're able to snag a patio seat which was the best for plane watching. They have some misters but it still was quite hot on a June day, I'm sure fall or winter would be perfect. They have some great happy hour prices and the portions were very generous. Here's my ratings for each menu item we tried: Tenderloin sliders 5/5 Meatballs 4/5 Take off trio 2/5 Tiny tuna 3/5 Tacos 3/5 Our server was just okay this visit, we would've liked to order more but once our food came he didn't check on us again until we had asked for our bill. I've been wanting to try this place forever and finally did! The location is super convenient right by the airport, and the covered parking is a lifesaver in this heat. The service was amazing - everyone was so attentive. They were out of cold brew, but offered to make me an iced coffee instead, which was such a thoughtful touch. Shoutout to Jared for the great service! I ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, but the dish was just okay for me and felt a little overpriced. The iced vanilla coffee, however, was good! The best part was definitely the ambiance. The open windows let you watch and hear planes taking off and landing, which made for a really fun and unique experience. Overall, worth visiting for the atmosphere and service alone! Steak and egg: 2.5/5- one of the most expensive item on the menu @$30 and advertised with 8 oz of steak; however, when the steak came out, we noticed its smaller than 8oz but wanted to confirm with the server... who confirmed it was actually 4 oz only. We then proceeded to ask for the menu to double check.. and it was listed for 8oz. Manager did come and apologized and gave us half off this item. Overall the steak was very mediocre Mexican lasagna- 5/5-I don't recall what the name of this dish was, but it was listed as Mexican lasagna in parentheses. What a cool spot! We came here for the first time right at 9 when they opened. Our server was so so so sweet and she took great care of us. The balcony/patio area is so beautiful with a great view of the tarmac. Watching planes take off while enjoying some coffee and an omelette is hard to beat. This was our first time for brunch and it was packed. Service was a bit slow. Highly recommend coming later (in the day or later in the spring) to sit in the shade on the patio - otherwise you will be roasted in the sun! We had the Pastel Espanol (Mexican lasagna) the farmers market and the chiltepin sausage and cheese omelette and we all shared an order of French toast. The potatoes that came with the omelettes were amazing - the crispy ones were the best. The omelettes were good with well done centers. The French toast was definitely not worth the price charged. My dad was in town visiting and loves airports and watching planes take off and land. I knew this place would be THE place to take him. I was not wrong! The service here is incredible. Thankfully I had a made a reservation and we were able to be seated outside with a full view of the tarmac. It started to rain while we were there and the portion we were in was uncovered. Our server immediately came to ask if we were ok and we assured her we were ok. She checked in multiple times during the rain (mostly it was a drizzle) to see if we wanted to be moved. She was also just extremely personable and attentive. Probably some of the best service I've ever received. The location is unbeatable. She chatted with us and checked up on us numerous of times. The starter meatballs and bread was delicious!!! The butterfly drink was refreshing, the burger though for $24 and no sides is pretty pricey. It was delicious but I would give it 4 stars. My boyfriend got the $100 burger and shared his sides. For a special occasion splurge that is worth it and 5 stars! We did get a bread pudding for our anniversary but it was not the soft, soaked in yummy bread texture that Im used to of a bread pudding. This was sort of rubbery and weird. Bread pudding would be 2 stars. I dont recommend that. The presentation was nice, the taste not so much. Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday as he is a big fan of airplanes. This place did not disappoint! They had a special on Tuesday and Wednesdays, Date night. On the menu with the date night logo you can choose two entrees and a pitcher of one of their cocktails. This was so perfect for us! I got the braised short ribs which came with mushroom risotto. The meat was so tender and the risotto was so creamy. My boyfriend got the mediterranean stuffed chicken and it came with mashed cauliflower. The sauce that coated the chicken was so delicious! To go with dinner we got the saguaro cocktail which was slightly sweet but didn't over power our dinner. Then we ordered a second round of drinks. And I got the butterfly and it was exactly what I wanted. It was sweet, with a bit of sourness. Finally for dessert we got the butter cake. One way to my heart is this cake! It was creamy, sweet, and the richness of the butter was to die for! Our waitress was very kind and professional. She was attentive and always there if we needed anything. The restaurant itself is located upstairs, so either take the elevator or stairs. I hesitate to write a review because I don't want this place to get any busier than it is. This place is such a gem! We came with a large party of family for a birthday brunch. We had several kids ranging in age with us. We sat on the larger area of the patio and the kids were thoroughly entertained by watching the airplanes and by waving at people walking to their planes. Our server was friendly, prompt and helpful as she was patient when our kids were rowdy and helpful with recommending amazing dishes. Our family got the board and the donuts as a group to share. Every month, my spouse and I do a surprise date night, and this one absolutely blew me away! Knowing how much I love airplanes and aviation, my spouse booked us a sunset dinner at Volanti -- and it was hands down the best dinner date ever. We had a balcony table outside, overlooking the private planes parked just steps away. Watching jets land and take off as the sun set, with black cars pulling up to drop off and pick up passengers -- I was in aviation heaven! Safe to say, my attention span for anything other than the runway action was very short (lol). The food was just as amazing as the view. We started with the Take Off Trio, followed by a couple of Espresso Martinis -- both delicious. For dinner, my spouse had the Prime Filet Mignon and I had the Prime Bone-In Ribeye, and we both added the crusted blue cheese. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the blue cheese topping took it over the top. We finished with their Hot Butter Cake for dessert, which was warm, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Our server was friendly and attentive, making the whole night feel relaxed and special. My only suggestion is to make the wasabi sauce less sweet, more of the kick you'd expect from wasabi. Prices are a smidge high but delicious a cool spot with a very unique twist as far as location. Do NOT get the "Cuban!" It's anything but a Cuban! Puffy, soft, too-big bread (totally wrong for a true Cuban), no mustard or pickles. Greasy, creamy weird sauce. Fries are good but not hot enough. And for $25 it's a fail. Service on the patio (Nick) wasn't great. Nice views of the runway. Can get a little loud outside based on engine noise of taxiing planes. Wish the food was a bit better. Went out for date night on a Tuesday. I have been trying to bring my fiancé to this restaurant for months and we finally had time to enjoy ourselves for the night. We took our engagement photos right before this and this was the perfect place to go to after getting all dolled up!! I LOVE scallops and these scallops are one of my favorites!! All of the dishes were absolutely mouthwatering. The mushroom risotto was delicious as well!! My fiancé loved his short ribs and truly enjoyed the sides too. My sister has been to Volanti several times and since my girlfriend works in the aviation industry we decided to go! There was some confusion as to what menu we could order from as we were sat in between the lunch and dinner menus so we had a very limited menu of maybe 7 items we could order. Everything we did order was tasty and our waiter was very nice. It can get a little loud when planes pull up to the restaurant but I think that that only adds to the ambiance and vibe of the restaurant.
