My party arrived at 11:30 am that day to tell the front desk staff that, though we understood we couldn't check in then, we would be attending a music festival that day, so we wouldn't be returning until later that night. The woman at the front desk looked at me like I had several heads and was no help whatsoever. We left to go to the music festival and returned to the hotel around midnight. The man at the desk told us that all the rooms were booked and that he had no rooms to give us. I showed him my check in information on the Hilton app and he took us up to one of the rooms, unlocked the door, and found that there were people sleeping in it! Although we were 3 hours from home, my party drove through the night to get home. On Tuesday, July 21 I wrote to Hilton explaining the situation and my utter dissatisfaction. I still have not received a response. I have been a Hilton member for years now, and have NEVER had an issue with any of the locations that I have stayed in, but to say I am unhappy with this situation is not strong enough. I would never stay at this establishment again and, after being ignored by the corporation and their customer service, am seriously considering never staying at a Hilton property again.

We thoroughly enjoyed the convenient location of the hotel and the complimentary breakfast too. The hotel itself was busy with other guests and had a good energy to it. Water and coffee available for free all day in the lobby. Free continental breakfast in the lobby was more than adequate...offering fruit, cereal, breads, yogurt, as well as some hot options including bacon. sausage, omelettes and eggs. Fitness Center was better than expected with modern treadmill and elliptical machines. Conveniently located right off of Newport Avenue and near Hancock Street (3A). Lots of shops and eating options in the immediate area. Very close to the North Quincy (Red) T Train Station. Parking was $15 per night.

Dunkin' is right nearby for coffee runs, and Lucca--a great spot for dinner--is just a short walk away. * Quiet Stay: The hotel and surrounding area were calm and peaceful. Great for getting rest. * Room: Not the most modern decor, but clean, well-maintained, and the bed was comfortable. * Amenities: There's a restaurant and full bar on the second floor, which is a nice bonus if you don't feel like heading out. Cons: * Only one working elevator while I was there. In the mornings, it got jammed up with cleaning and service staff, so you could be waiting 5-10 minutes just to go down. Frustrating, especially if you're trying to get out the door quickly. Fix the elevator situation and it's a 5-star stay. Solid pick overall.

I once stayed at a Motel 6 where the bed felt like it was made of cardboard with a duvet on top. At…read morethe price point of a motel, some things are forgivable. When we come to a four-star hotel, my standard become a higher. Something I cannot corroborate is issues with cleanliness. I brought a blacklight, and nothing stood out. The only thing I noticed was some water spots on the bathroom sink, which is a non-issue. What I can get behind is the age of the rooms. The furniture had more than its fair share of dings and other signs of aging (such as the poor nightstand in the photo I attached). As for the mattress, it was notably springy, not necessarily uncomfortable, but either of a lower quality, or very old. Speaking of bedding: The blanket was a european style of a blanket/comforter that inserts into the top sheet (not a big deal, just strange). What is a bigger deal is the lack of a fitted sheet. While tucked in, this is suboptimal for someone who tosses and turns like a rotisserie chicken (such as myself). Before I forget - the chair that comes with the desk was unexpectedly uncomfortable. I've sat in better metal and wood chairs than this nonsense - and it is supposedly cushioned! Finally, the room I was in was noted as accessible, though not requested as such. However, some things did not seem well adapted to a person with disabilities. The shower has a step as opposed to being roll in, there is a grab bar in the shower, but no such bars around the toilet. The only things I was able to notice is a doorbell connecting to a siren/strobe (which can thankfully be turned off via a lightswitch to prevent 3am pranks), the shower bar, and lowered shower controls (though not toiletries, it seems?). If you are in need of an accessible room - proceed with caution. Finally, there is the brunch. This was pretty basic with some pastries, porridge, breakfast meats, fruit, and scrambled egg product (I doubt it is real egg). The quality was not great, but the price tag was somewhere just under $20. I think the brunch is emblematic of the whole experience. That being: it was acceptable, but at this price point and caliber, it needs to be better than just acceptable. The only really good thing is that there was a hook outside the shower to grab a towel right as one leaves.

A relaxing getaway in the South Boston…read more After a trip to Montreal and NYC, we were seeking a little solitude from our typical trip to Boston. In most cases, we would stay in the heart of the city. This is a great side trip outside of summer, when the rates are great and you don't want to go as far out as Cape Cod. This trip took us from plane to city, from train to boat, from taxi to city and from car to village. In Hull, we were 30 minutes or less from everything we needed to access; Plymouth (the rock), Milton (the grand babes) and the towns of Cohasset and Hingham (for coffee, food, and shopping). The owner of the Beacon Luxury Waterfront Inn greeted us, as we arrived before dark, with easy upfront parking. Into the Atlantic suite, with water views (and although fall, the weather was temperate, not hot, but not too cold yet). We selected this room, as it was on the corner with water views. The suite itself was huge with a private bath, jacuzzi tub, fireplace and I must admit they were both used nightly to not only to slow down from all the traveling but also after sightseeing, outings and spending time with family. Each morning a simple continental breakfast is served. This is probably the thing we liked the least, but we knew what to expect. We prefer a bed and breakfast with a full breakfast, but we did enjoy our room and slept comfortably with the amenities available. If anything, not being food focused got us going earlier in the morning for a new adventure. I highly recommend stepping outside the city sometime and exploring the smaller places. This is what makes New England so charming. #OutsideBoston #Hull #TheBeaconLuxuryWaterfrontInn #NewEngland

The entire suite passed my white glove cleanliness ritual. The smell was so delightful. It was almost like smelling fresh air inside lol. This place was so calming & relaxing. I didn't want my little getaway stay to end. This place is definitely a 10 out of 10.

Luckily, this place had both of those qualities. It's tucked in a small, quiet area, but really close to the interstate. This hotel looks very nice from the inside and out. Mini Fridge? Check. Coffee maker? Check. Microwave? Nope only for suites. So I can get something cold/ keep something cold but have no way to warm it up? That is a strange world we live in when 80% of the Hilton properties I stay at have no problem getting a microwave to my room but Marriot is the main rival and they can't get microwaves? Not to sound like I am harping on the issue they do have a community microwave in the lobby that you can use and feel weird about when you are popping popcorn and across the lobby in the lounge a couple are drinking and wondering what the hell you are doing. Also as a Marriott Platinum member I feel like it is with a shrug when I show up. At the Fairfield Inn's I get greeted with some enthusiasm, but here at this Courtyard I get the "go take something out of the fridge, I guess" attitude. Not asking for a red carpet but a little something for the loyalty that I show you would be nice. The hotel is clean and I have never found any issues with anything but did notice a mouse death hotel trap at the bottom of the stairs (which is sort of off-putting) The internet can be hit or miss at times which can be tough when working on things for work but 99 times out of 100 it is working. This is the my go to property when working South of Boston. There is quick access to plenty of dining around the area and Target is less than a mile down the street and the Ikea Store is under 5 miles away. But maybe they need some competition in the area to get some microwaves put in all of the rooms. (Just let it go CJ, and stop your 1st world complaining.)

The woman who checked us in was very friendly and gave us a tour of the common areas - entrances are locked to the public and secured with a password for extra safety - our room was big - I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer Nespresso coffees with lots of fix ins available (even dairy free milk in the fridges!), grab and go snacks like Himalayan Gold popcorn and flavored almond mixes, and fresh made more substantial snacks like a chia seed pudding with coconut flakes and pineapple that was so good, I had it twice! Also available at any time in the fridges were Apple streussel yogurt parfaits and hard boiled eggs. Chocolate chip cookies are baked throughout the day. - nicely decorated lounge area on first floor and deck patio space - you are able to leave items in a designated shared refrigerator space in the kitchenette on the first floor, a clever solution to no fridges in the rooms (at least not in mine). The thought of a communal, unmentioned fridge with strangers did give me pause though, but it's nice they offer it. Room for improvement: - I understand I came in a heat wave and summer is not prime season in Salem, but the room was so warm. The air conditioning would not go below 67° setting, but the real room temp was always much higher according to the thermostat (this morning it was 76!) I was sweating and had a hard time sleeping. They gave us a box fan when we asked if the AC could go any lower...I wasn't even sure it was on....and that helped a little but still wasn't enough. Please let people turn down the temp so they can sleep without waking up sweaty! The AC units also made a decently loud bubbling noise - this seems to be in a part of town near where an unhoused group of people hangs out. To walk to the off site parking lot, which was not far away at all thankfully, you have to walk through a big park full of many unhoused people, some begging or shouting. It made me feel a bit unsafe and I wasn't thrilled to leave my car in an area of town like that. Head's up. On our last day here, there was also a seemingly unhoused woman hanging out on the front steps of the hotel's (beautiful!) lawn for many hours. At one point when we walked by, she was starting to get aggressive and shout at people walking by. - the bar in the lounge area, prominently featured on their website, is non functional as they do not have a liquor license, which would have been a nice place to enjoy a cocktail - the tvs have lots of streaming apps advertised on the TV main screen, but none are logged in to the hotel's account. I guess that's standard in some cases, but it felt frustrating to not be able to watch a lot of what was shown to us. - not the hotel's fault, just a product of the location (which was otherwise very convenient and centrally located!), but there were loud cars with booming stereos driving by at all hours of the night on a weekday that occasionally woke me up. - the lot they let you park in temporarily while you unload luggage, while a nice gesture and made moving bags much easier, is very tight and took quite a few maneuvers to be able to get out of. - there's really only one heavy duty lock on the door, but overall the closing mechanism felt very lightweight and I didn't have a ton of confidence in it. We were only given one key for two people staying in one room. Overall, the location and service were nice, but the temp issue was pretty hard to get past since it made me feel so stifled. The snacks came in handy more than once, but for the price, I'd look around at other locations before automatically coming back here, I imagine you could find something cheaper that isn't on the fringes of a sketchy neighborhood. It is right next to Hauswitch, which was one of my favorite shops in all of the many, many options in town, so that's a plus, but they really need a better AC system for summer guests. Thank you for a cozy stay other than that and for such welcoming treatment!
