The pizza had a good crunch and was nice and cheesy. We ordered one tray with onions and one tray with pepperoni. Both trays came out piping hot. Overall, the food was good and I would have given this a 4-star review if it weren't for the poor customer service and limited hours. We walked into the restaurant at 8:12pm. The restaurant's hours are listed online as closing at 9:00pm. Immediately after walking in, we were told because of the time we walked in, the only thing on the menu available to order was pizza. Secondly during the middle of our meal, one of the waitresses, walked in from the bar screaming at the top of her lungs. There'd seemed to have been a misunderstanding or argument with another employee or customer. Ambiance was... vintage. Your typical established Scranton area pizza place. This was the second car pizza on our pizza crawl, so we did not stick around in the dining area, but the to-go process was very easy and the vibes were pretty relaxed. We got a half tray of white, and while white pizza is not my favorite, I actually really enjoyed this. There is subtle flavoring with herbs on top that complemented the creamy nature. So I tried this for the first time, i love to try different pizza so after a quick walmart run we grabbed a try. Great flop and look, one bite everybody knows the rules and then we realized it has zero taste. They have very little sauce and even less cheese. I wanted to take it back or send it back in the mail being out $16 dollars plus tip. My wife ruled against sending it back in a box. We came home and I made a pizza. Really I can't see how anybody feels this is good, raised on Old Forge pizza which has its share of places that have gone down hill since they put 14 yr old kids in the kitchen making the stuff but they still have a few good places. I'm originally from here and lived in the Philly area for approx 20 years. The pizza there sucks. Every place people recommend as good is round bland garbage or has the sauce on top of the cheese. Now, the only time I order pizza is when I visit NEPA. Arcaro's has been in my top 3 since I was a kid. Not sure why the Philly area can't make a good pizza. Also, I've had better cheesesteaks in NEPA. Go figure! read more

Found myself back in Scranton for a family affair. There were about ten of us who were hankering for some pizza. Enter Arcaro's. Gave them a call, ordered three squares - plain, peperoni and onion. The combo of that sauce and cheese with whatever secret dough recipe they have is a winner! Was ready in about 20mins, picked up without any issue. Great experience. read more

Tonight was the 4th and sadly the worst experience I've had here. For some reason, they were busier than they have been in the past, and the waitress couldn't handle all the tables. Also, we finished our meal, and it took 25 minutes to settle our bill. Usually when you go out with a group, you like your food to call come together... yet again, pizza came out before the soup. Kind of annoying. The positives: Pizza is good, Pasta Fagioli was amazing, everything is VERY reasonably priced, waitress is very nice (same one every Tuesday) The negatives: Sodas aren't free refills, all the food comes out at different times, you eat of Styrofoam plates, they wont split the bill. A good place to go if you want a cheap bite to eat. I definitely wouldn't take a date there... And if you go with a party, don't expect to be eating your dinner the same time as the person next to you. read more

Arcaro's tacos are my favorite tacos. I've had their pizza and a few other items, but the tacos are the best. The tortillas are similar to the old Hacienda shells. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and there is rarely a wait for food even when they're busy. Get tacos! read more

I am in love with this place! It does get busy, they should have more waitresses on staff, but I never had a complaint, just a compliment!

I cannot recommend this place to my worst enemy. I have never wrote a bad review on here but this is my first. I tried this place on a recommendation and as soon as I walked in the door I was second guessing my decision. The server was very courteous and friendly and everything but everything else is where this place takes a dive. The drinks are no refills, the food comes out ridiculously fast which tells me that there is no way anything is made from scratch. While sitting at the table I could hear the cook bad mouthing a takeaway customer, which I thought was tacky and off-putting but I guess that must be the status-quo at this dump. I looked for a restroom and only saw the women's so I asked the waitress where it was and she told me to "walk through the bar to get to the men's restroom" which seemed rather odd, however it did allow me to see the entire place. I really have to say this place looks like the 1970s walked in vomited everywhere and walked out. DO NOT confuse this place with the one in Old Forge. Their food is Awesome! Arcaros in Taylor is the bastard incest love child of 3rd cousins twice removed. Their food tastes disgusting and just STAY AWAY! read more

It was my favorite restaurant. Since the ownership has changed from father and daughter it went down hill. I came in by myself for once and realized they illegally have people smoking, told me kitchen closes at 10 and I tried to order and 9:40 and was told no, and the new staff isn't the same. It's terrible to see a place of high quality go down hill. The most irritating part is that the bartender knew I wanted food when I walked in and ignored the fact to ask me cause I was in a conversation and comes back with a runny nose and a no answer about food. My girlfriend called to order us pizza and had a question about the sauce. She cannot have tomato seeds and when she asked about the sauce she was treated as stupid and was given a sarcastic rude response. We were calling to order pizza which we were paying for, we shouldn't be treated so disrespectfully when we have a special request to how the pizza is prepared. We will be taking our business elsewhere and spreading the word about the disrespectful staff employed at this restaurant. read more
