Denied me service to soak off my acrylic nails because they "didn't have time" and asked me to come back later. At the time that I walked in, there was only one woman receiving a pedicure at the time by another employee. In addition, a lady who walked in right behind me was quickly accepted for a no chip manicure right after I was turned away. It is unfortunate how prevalent racial discrimination is in this area, even for something as simple as getting your nails done. read more

I went here on a whim after finding that my usual nail salon down the street was all booked. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The nail tech did a great job on my pedicure and the price was much cheaper than I expected ($25 for a basic pedicure). I also got my eyebrows cleaned up for $10. The only downside to the salon, and the reason it took me many years to visit despite living very nearby, is that it lacks a clean appearance compared to the salon down the street. They did a meticulous and a simply perfect job! I'm probably biased since I next to never go in to get a mani-pedi. Only had a couple in my lifetime. But I was getting married and wanted to have my nails looking their best. This place was nearby my work so I decided to give them a shot. They were very accommodating. They seem to have the latest supplies for any nail salon i.e. special towels, fancy drying systems for both your feet and hands... They even made sure my pedicure didn't smudge since I only came in flats by putting my feet in baggies. Didn't smudge at all. It's been almost a month and my pedicure still looks great! I was left at the pedicure bowl mid pedicure while the technician helped someone else who had been waiting. She didn't even say a word to me. Ador Salon is an excellent local nail salon that offers other services as well. Every time I have gone the staff is extremely friendly, professional and takes great care with my nails. I got gel acrylics here about a month ago. It felt very rushed. The man did the nails and then a woman painted them. She walked away when she was done and I was left sitting there unsure of if I could leave or not. So I sat there for a little and then left. I walked outside and put my gloves on. The paint smudged completely. I had to go back in for them to fix the polish. About 2 days later, the paint was chipping already. I've gone to a few nail salons and this was the worst experience. I spent 40 dollars and it turned out smudgy and chipped a few days later. read more

I have been here several times and every experience has been relaxing and fun. Street parking is generally easy to find. This is a family run salon- small & simply decorated. prices are good- spring for the Royal Pedicure add-on for addt'l $10. It's totally worth it. Milk & honey! I took my sister and cousin for pedis and they were really happy. I am expecting a baby and my sister told me people have asked if there are any spas I like (for gift certificate treats) my first response was Ardor. I love a good pedicure. I've been a loyal customer this year. However, the last time I went, the male technician was applying a highly noxious chemical on a customer while my nails were drying. I requested they turn on the little fan at his station to blow the fumes away from me. He refused. They changed my seat and opened the door to no avail. Before I left, I tried to clarify why I needed the ventilation and despite the language barrier, I think they understood. But, his response really clinched this bad review : he said, "We have to take care of the customers, " and he then said, "When you go into a restaurant, there are smells. While the place is reasonably clean, we booked a 3pm appointment, got there at 2:50, I walked down to get coffee for my Mother while she waited for her appointment to start at 3. When I returned at 3:05, the person who was supposed to be doing her nails was working on someone else's (who had not been there at 2:50). We waited until 3:25 for my Mothers appointment to start. Why make an appointment if it isn't going to be honored? I'm still sitting here waiting for my Mothers nails to be finished (4pm). While I have been waiting, I've been treated to having a sucker shoved within an inch of my face by the toddler of the owner - apparently she gets free reign of the place. Popped over for lunch time mani pedi and was able to get in right away. The shop itself is cute lil neighborhood spot - not glamorous but clean and organized. The woman who did both my mani and pedi seemed like a sweetheart and very efficient. I will absolutely come back for the friendly service! I am shocked by the positive reviews for this business. I went here on Saturday, July 27th and my no-chip manicure is already chipping on Thursday. I booked an appointment because I had a gift certificate from someone who based the purchase on positive reviews. I would not have picked this place on looks but I am open-minded (very cluttered and dark). Their prices are too high and the male who did my nails rushed through as he FaceTimed with his children. I asked him to do another coat but he said "no." I called today (8/1/19) to see if they could do a polish removal and they said "yes." By the time I arrived (5pm) they were closed (OPEN sign still displayed with a closing time of 7pm). They are now closed for a 3 week vacation. I will have to pay to go somewhere else to get this fixed. I usually don't review because Yelp can be particular about what is posted but I felt obligated. Fantastic! What a find. This location, previously called something else, is under new ownership. I got a gel manicure and and an eyebrow wax, and couldn't be happier. The salon itself is clean, pretty, and cozy, and the owner was super sweet. The location near the Central Street Metra station is extremely convenient (and makes for good people-watching!). Of course, none of this would matter if the work were bad, but it most definitely was NOT! Quite the contrary: I am thrilled with the no-chip manicure I got here, as well as the brow wax.
