From all the "sunbathing" I did in my younger years dermatology caught up with me and I had to have a mohs procedure to incision out a spot on my forehead. Dr Mowlavi and his staff were excellent. From the front office to the medical assistances to Dr Mowlavi himself, they are all very professional and very positive, upbeat and knowledgeable. This was a first for me and they were very re assuring of the process and kept me updated all along the way as to what to expect and the complete procedure. I had a consultation with Dr. Mowlavi and was upsold several procedures. I told him I'm only interested in getting 1 and he said let me price everything and we will work from there. I again mentioned that I'm only interested in 1 procedure; told me Dr. said I need all procedures and told me he's the best in the business, ect, ect. I requested a written quote with a breakdown. Worst scariest doctor ever! I had surgery with this mad man In 2012. I was alone the morning of this surgery needed only new breast implants . Before surgery early morning in some surgical center outside of his office because I did not want surgery there. Dr Mowlavi came in and he looked disshoveled his eyes were really glazed. i was feeling super scared, he then was marking me in a creepy way. I felt like I was in a three dementional relm of fear Slow motion. I wanted to so fast out of there and he kept me there somehow. TRUST YOUR GUT ALWAYS. I remember after surgery I was screaming crying shaking etc dumped in a wheel chair and sent out the door. I then found out he gave me a breast lift which I never asked for of needed. He also was to reduce a small part of eyes of mynute skin only. He did the complete eyes and I have trouble sleeping due to nill skin to cover my eyes with my thicker skin. Botched big time. Within 24 hours after surgery I fell ill very ill temperature 106. A single mom and it it wasn't for my sons tutor helping me get rushed to the Er I would have died of a serious infection. I was put of intravenous solution. I was forced to stay in the ER. I had a young son and Had to be there for him. The consultation was only ran by his assistant, who told me that I should get a tummy tuck, and a skin tight procedure on top of everything else. Where to begin.... Part 1... I found Dr. Mowlavi on Realself. I posted on Realself for help and advice, Dr mowlavi was one of the first doctors to respond to my questions and doubts. He quickly got my attention. After a few months of reviewing his past patients and delivered results via internet and Instagram I decided to make an online live consultation. That went great and said he could fix my botched job, but wanted an in-person consultation. I made and went, Luckily these were complimentary consults. Through both of the consultations he was extremely confident he could perform and get the results I was looking for. I liked his overall attitude and character when conversing with him. He got to the point and explained what all he was going to accomplish. My trust was in his hands. He offered me a price for Vaser. This was for all of my front torso, love handles and all of that. I quickly made my decision and decided to go through my surgery with Dr. laguna. I had an extreme case of scar tissue and fascia, causing my stomach to look like cottage cheese. I also had fat in my chest. He was going to get rid of all scar tissue and etch me up. This week I finally had surgery! I'm currently in recovery mode. The day I had my surgery, he had two other doctors visiting and learning his techniques, which was pretty cool, He outlined my body on every part he was going to detail. Process for that took a little bit, once that was done I was headed to the surgery room. (This place was perfect because it was a all in one establishment, meaning it has the doctors office and surgery room all in one building) I met the anesthesiologist, once everything was in order I layed down on the table and quickly fell under. I woke up feeling great! A little nauseous and sore but great! I had a mini tummy tuck, The stitches were internal, which means they dissolve, these will dissolve in about 3 months post surgery. I was excited about this. My scar/tummy tuck was stitched in a perfect line. I also got a new belly button and its looking normal. Two drains were installed in my lower abdomen, which naturally drains all the excess fluid. This is great! My results within a week look great! I have normal brusing and swelling. After day 2 I was my mobility was great, day 3 I was running light errands and moving around a lot. Of course I had to be careful not moving around too much and it's a little hard getting in and out of a vehicle. With surgery, its best to have lymphatic massages, I am doing this every other day. This helps with quick recovery and definitely helps with the final results. They give you prescriptions and if you follow them to the T you will be just fine! Everyday that I come for my massage I'm greeted by the doctor to make sure everything is going A-Okay! Staff is very friendly and all my questions have been answered, I can honestly say so far, this has been a fantastic ordeal and could not be happier. I was nervous about having my breast implants removed. One had deflated so it had to be done. Dr. Mowlavi did not rush me to have new implants or to have other surgeries. Rather he suggested I wait a few months to see how the tissue settled after both were removed. He said otherwise the result would likely to uneven. He did give me some ideas to consider if I chose to have further procedures, including a natural, modest enhancement with my own body fat. Surgeons are not known for telling you to wait for surgery so I was both pleasantly surprised and appreciative of his approach. His staff was amazing and treated me like a patient that was getting a lot more done even though my procedure was pretty minor. The scars from the removal of the implants are almost invisible just two months later. read more

OMG!!!!!!! I don't even know where to begin! Let me start by saying I knew this would happen to Arian Mowlavi one day. He should even be recognized as a doctor. I went to him about 8 years ago because I was interested is getting a breast reduction, lift and implants. I scheduled my appointment with his assistant Claudia. During my consultation Arian Mowlavi made me feel ugly and had me doubting myself and my body. After about an hour of feeling like crap about myself I was convinced to get a full tummy tuck, Brest lift with implants and a BBL aka a Full Mommy Makeover! The total cost came out to $15,000. Prior to my surgery I was told I can send Claudia pictures of how I would picture my breast to look so I did. Day of my surgery I was all marked up and went under. When I finally healed which took about 3-6 months I was extremely disappointed with the results especially after being convinced that I needed this work. I went back and forth with Arian Mowlavi and Claudia. I just say during my consultation and prior to my surgery Claudia acted like an Angel. As soon as I had questions and concerns and was not happy she became this evil human being. Extremely rude!!! My BBL was not even that, all it did was leave scars on my rear , my breast were still drooping and did not look anything like how I was told they would. So eventually he offered to do a 2nd procedure on my breast that cost me another $6000. I also wanted to get a 2nd BBL but didn't have anymore funds to cover it so I was extremely bummed. I also referred my mom who received some type of CO2 facial that was completely botched and left a bunch of line scars on my moms face that she still struggles with till this day. I had also posted about my experience on RealSelf and was asked to delete it when he made the 2nd deal with me to do my breast again for $6000. I wish I can go back and do more research and wish I had chosen another Doctor. I would have spent less and gotten what I had originally gone in for rather then all the extra because of words that were used to make me feel like crap. After an initial Consultation with this doctor I decided not to proceed, my real issue was how it was handled. I opted for an online consultation for a lipo and the whole process was uncomfortable: -the doctor was bragging how amazing world class surgeon he is and how I should have seen him in person because he is very good and his time is valuable -then he made me find him on Instagram, tell me how many followers (over 100K) he had and talked about how he made all those women "hot". PS: I work with social media and I know for a fact that he bought those followers, the ratio of engagement should be at least 1%, not 3 likes. -after bragging a little more, he asked me to show him what was he dealing with, I showed him my abdomen and he asked me to pull the skin (?) I did it but because I don't have a saggy or a lot of extra, he kept asking me to pull and stretch, I guess it was not what he expected so he said that he could not see very well and I should resc, but he would send me an estimate. I have been to over 10 doctors and none of them recommend for me to "remove excess skin", after I questioned in fact, they said that there was no need. I can't figure out Dr. Mowlavi. He sounds very knowledgeable and after meeting with him 3 times, he convinces me to do the procedure but he also added an additional procedure I wasn't planning on doing, but it made sense at the time. I have visited several surgeons and Dr. Mowlavi's staff is by far the most aggressive meaning they really want your business. They even had my credit checked when I was there, something no one else has done. When I was leaving my 3rd appointment this week, he was in his office with most of his staff and I overheard him say: "time to make some money, folks"... this really turned me off and don't think I trust him to do my procedure now. It's so hard making such a tough decision, you don't want your body to be ruined or to end up uneven and it's a very tough emotional decision for a lot of people. If he would be smarter and wiser psychologically speaking, he would have higher reviews. Just seeing several 1 star reviews makes me doubt, as the other surgeons I am considering, have all 5 star reviews across the board. These surgeons were of all ages, with their bed side manner and attitude not as showy. The only reason I was considering Mowlavi was because he convinced me that Vaser was the best on the market, but other surgeons have warned me against it, that it leaves more of a rippled effect on the skin. I had a horrible first time experience, sad to report. Dr. Mowlavi convinced me I needed "more" product and I agreed to it. The problem is...He never used or gave me the secondary suggested-product! I was billed for it (and paid for it). I contacted his office as soon as I remebered (we had been talking throughout my visit/highly distracted). To date this business has not returned my communications in 6-7 months, or remedied their $1500 blunder, which was human error on their part (and I DO understand mistakes happen!). I'm not asking them for anything I've not already paid for, and am being quite QUITE patient with this situation. I'm paid to review businesses in my career. I would not have rated this visit as "passing" if it were an assignment of mine. I will report back in 48 hours, to see if Dr. Mowlavi or his staff will return my calls and emailed messages. I sent another email out this week, strongly requesting the office either issue my refund or give me my product. I'll report back by Monday, but am tentative on how or IF they'll even respond. The only good thing about the office was the music and Kyle. The office furniture isn't wiped down. The floors and bathroom are dirty. The front desk gals are rude to you, and hang up on you if you're asking for detailed directions. Parking is terrible. You could easily be hit by oncoming traffic, or be accused of tapping another parked car like I was, due to the lack of room. The consultation would have been better if Dr. M didn't push (accidentally?) his belly into my backside as we both looked into the mirror during the consult. No customer service regarding what I wanted, it's what he wanted. Terrible recovery with excessive vomiting and again, a lack of communication, especially with the assistant Doctor. 45 seconds spent checking the sutures and telling me about nothing. I overheard him saying that he wouldn't perform someone's surgery because he "wasn't feeling it." I didn't know that you had to have a good vibe in order to work on people. I have never seen a doctor more condescending than this doctor!!! I went in with my sister who's had her breast reconstruction done with him 3 years ago. It never looked right to begin with. She had to have one of her breasts redone by another surgeon. I could go on and on about the experience 3 years ago... Her left side started having a lump as big as a golf ball just last week. When we showed him a picture and asked him if this looks normal to him he got loud and raised his voice and started acting like a bully. I told him this is exactly what he did 3 years ago and my sister was intimidated by him so she stopped complaining. I told him that I have seen several breast reconstructions and none of them look this way. He raised his voice again and said "who's the doctor here? I found Dr. Mowlavi on RealSelf after months of searching for the right doctor. I decided on Dr. Mowlavi after looking through every single photo and reading the reviews. I submitted an inquiry through RealSelf and got a call from James on a Sunday to discuss my inquiry. I couldn't even believe he was taking the time to talk to me on the weekend. It made me feel so good so I scheduled my consultation for a few weeks out. When I arrived to my consult, I was impressed with how nice the office is. It was clean and beautiful. It was crowded but I didn't wait long. Dr. Mowlavi thoroughly impressed me. I knew what I wanted but I didn't know much about the procedure. Dr. Mowlavi answered all of my questions, was extremely friendly, and had all around good bedside manner. (Let me add he did not try to up-sell me AT ALL.. much appreciated because I felt like he actually did care about exactly what I wanted) Fast forward to now: I could NOT be more pleased with the result. No idea how he has a rating of 4.9. Firstly, in the waiting room, you have to fill out some forms. On these forms, there are TWO sections that I do *not* recommend signing. The first is a section that I took a picture of & attached to this comment. It is completely unacceptable that a doctor puts something like this hidden between a bunch of forms that have to do with your health, hippa, insurance, & photography waivers. Maybe this is why he has 4.9 stars because he sues people when they try to post negative results he gave them. You are not obligated to sign that. There was another form called an "arbitration agreement" that basically says you cannot take him to court if he botches you. You can only take take your case to arbitration, & the arbitrator assigned to you IS PICKED BY THIS SURGEON. The lawyers of this surgeon encourage arbitration because arbitration usually goes in favor of the physician. LEGALLY, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIGN THIS DOCUMENT. BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT, YOU ARE GIVING UP YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO FILE A MEDICAL MALPRACTICE SUIT IF THIS DOCTOR BOTCHES YOU. I did not sign it, & when I gave the papers to the receptionist, she said, "oh, you forgot this one." & I said, "I'm not signing that." She said, "you HAVE to sign it." I said, "No, I don't. It even says on the paper that signing that is VOLUNTARY." & she said, "ohhh." Before my appointment, Dr. Laguna called me over the phone & spoke to me about the procedure & gave me a quote. When I went into the office of the lady that discusses prices with you, she gave me a quote that was $1500 MORE than what the Dr. told me. I told her he gave me a different quote & asked her if she could go ask him why it increased by so much. She said, "okay" & walked out of the room, but just chit chatted with her coworkers outside of the door & came back in & said she spoke to him & he said he thought the procedure would take longer & he felt I was going to take more work. She never even spoke to him. Very suspicious. He & his assistant did not leave the room when I was undressing, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Like, get out for two minutes while I take my clothes off & put the robe on.... I've seen a lot of reviews from women saying that he kept pushing different procedures on them, telling them they should really get X & Y procedure even though they only came in for Y procedure. But during my consultation, he was mostly just showing off his work (which I had no interest in). Kept showing me BBL's & ab sculpting, but my natural body is better than most of his "after" clients, so I just ignored it all. When we finally started discussing the procedure I was interested in, he kept cutting me off, ignoring my questions, saying that what I was asking didn't matter because it was just a simple procedure & any other surgeon telling me they had a special technique was full of shit. He cussed a lot & seemed unprofessional. I asked him if he could show me before & after pictures of previous patients that had the procedure I wanted done. Over the phone, he told me he performed hundreds & hundreds of this specific procedure during his career. However, he came in with only two before & after pictures. You get more than you pay for with Dr. Laguna. My body has NEVER looked like this. I am 4 days out from surgery and the results from my vaser liposuction, contour sculpting, body lift procedure are amazing. I told the doctor that I wanted to look like a superhero and in 4 hours, he did it. Dr. Mowlavi is a legitimate artist. I searched for years for a surgeon to do my liposuction, and when the time came to really make the call on who yo trust, I was stuck with a 3-way tie. Dr Mowlavi really changed my life!!! Over the past 2 years after the birth of my 2nd child I developed medical issues - hernias, recti muscle separation, urine leakage (when coughing; etc.), excessive heartburn,/acid reflex. When mentioning my hernia & muscle weakness concerns, Dr Mowlavi took the time to explain to me how he could help alleviate those medical issues. During surgery Dr Mowlavi discovered a total of 3 hernias (1 of which was HUGE), he confidently repaired them ALL along with muscle repair and a tummy tuck.
