Delicious. Really awesome all you can eat sushi for $20. Every roll I have ever tried has been amazing. You even get some pineapple for dessert at the end! When you come in, if you specify the all you can eat option, you'll receive a paper menu and you will check off what you want and how much of each. Err on the side of not enough because you can always order more as you go. However, if you are wasteful and don't eat most of what you've order, you'll be charged extra. Oh, BYOB! My only complaint is the size. It's small which is nice and private on one hand but for larger groups or busy nights you should absolutely call ahead and make a reservation. read more

This may have been the best bang for your buck ayce sushi restaurant I've been to thus far, and im at about 5 and counting(hopefully, ). But that is overall, sometimes hospitality is just as if not more important than the food itself. My husband and I saw a positive review on our town facebook and we are huge sushi fans so we decided to check it out. I read a few reviews and everyone seemed to love the place, only common complaint was it is tiny. We got there about an hour before closing and were greeted by a very nice host who asked us confidently if we have a reservation. It was a very awkward exchange of shock and awe when we told her that we did not. She haughtly and arrogantly said, "We are by reservation only." It took about 3 minutes of my shocking look and response that no where on their limited facebook nor posted on the outside of this restaurant to make anyone aware. Her excuse was that everyone in town "just knows." Anyways, she ended up seating us but didn't really want to. Also, the entire time we were there the restaurant did not completely fill once. The specialty rolls were unique and filling but somewhat out of the ordinary. They did not offer sashimi, just sushi and no dessert options. We were also never formally given a menu or any type of pricing. The host also looked over our order and kind of was concerned we didn't know The procedure for ayce sushi and ordered to much. Our family Loves this place. Food is great, and the price is unbeatable. BYOB so that also keeps the price down when we go with friends and family. (but $20 is a super bargain). My sister in law has a severe shell fish allergy, and the chefs make special precautions whenever we come in. We never have to worry about cross contamination. Very friendly and helpful staff. Let me just say: first impressions say a lot (at least to me). Originally, i called and made a reservation for my girlfriend and i at a certain time very easily (6pm). Upon arrival, and on time, i waited a while before a worker approached to assist me. I stated my name and the time of the reservation, she then pointed to a table for two where we could sit, and after waiting a minute while being seated, was told my reservation was at 6:45pm. i insisted that there was a mistake because i clearly said 6pm. She then, in a rude manner, read the appointments, made us get up and sat the two people who arrived after me because they were the ones who made the reservation for 6pm. Even then there were still plenty of seats and no reservations after the seated people and up until my wrong reservation time. She then told us to we'd have to come back at the noted reservation time and at no time during all that did she apologize for the inconvenience. My girlfriend and i could not believe how not only they wrote down the wrong reservation time but acted so immodest about it. All this lead to the decision of my girlfriend and i not coming back for our wrong timed reservation. I would rate it lower but out of kindness, something the female worker seemed to lack, will refrain from doing so since i never tasted their food. read more

I hate how I had to be turned away from eating delicious sushi, despite hearing raving reviews from one of my close friends. This review is based only on the short interaction I had with their hostess, not their food I never got a chance to try. The hostess immediately took a look at us, and asked if we had a reservation. We said no, and she responded that they were awaiting a large group of people to come, and would not be able to take us. I thought it was odd, especially since the tables (there were tables of two, and four nearby) were not prepared for this "large group". But I said fine and left. Mind you, another couple had came in seconds after and they were immediately seated! How unfair is that?! She didn't even ask the couple if THEY had a reservation. I was led to believe they were slightly racist, since I was pretty much the only brown face there with my friend. So I'm pretty unhappy. read more

My wife, kids, and I frequent Arigato almost every week. While we usually do take out, we'll eat in about once a month. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The sushi is delicious - I've never had a roll I didn't like. And if you dine-in, the $20 all-you-can-eat special cannot be beat. I love the fact that you can order not just regular rolls, but a lot of specialty/exotic rolls. I like spicy, and all of their hot and spicy rolls pack just the right amount of heat. My favorite place. Appetizers are great, rolls are great and the service is great. Whether it is me and my son or a group of 10, we always make a reservation as the seating is limited. I see comments on poor service and we have never experienced that from our first time coming on a Saturday night at 5 without a reservation and they gladly accommodated our family of 4. My family and I came to this restaurant on a pretty mellow night. We were all hungry and an all-you-can-eat japanese restaurant sounded perfect. We walked in with reservations for 5. We checked off what we wanted and waited about 20 minutes for a platter of 10 rolls. We finished it in 10 minutes. The selection of sushi rolls they had was phenomenal and the timing was great. However, we noticed well that it was a little fast. We realized that they left out 2 of the 10 rolls we ordered. Then we order our second serving of a few more rolls. We asked about the missing roles and they said they'd be right on it. 30 minutes later, no second serving and no missing rolls were served. The timing in this restaurant is absolutely terrible! I got so tired of waiting that I just wanted to leave at that point. By the time my temper was all the way up and my impatience was at a breaking point, they dolled out the rolls. Would not recommend coming to this all you eat. It's really an all-you-can-wait. Service was so slow that you should predownload some netflic shows. It's THAT long. read more

I love this place. Between take out and eat in, we go at least twice a month. We are on a first name basis with the staff. Always a hug and a kiss from Nikki. The food is delicious, service is great, all you can eat for $20 and BYOB. What's not to love? Oh, and the pinapple boat and oranges are the perfect ending. We've recommended Arigato to so may people and have NEVER received negative feedback. I want to address some negatives I read in other reviews to put them into perspective. First, reservations are important. On weekends they are a MUST. This is a small place, few tables and a loyal clientele. One person stated they were asked if they had a reservation. They were turned away because they didn't. The next group came in and were seated, not asked if they had a reservation. I guarantee they were seated without question because the staff knew them by name too. You accuse them of being racist? I accuse you of being ignorant. Second the waste policy is clearly stated. You will be charged for excessive waste. $20 is a bargain for AYCE. Over-ordering is not fair to the establishment. Leaving all the rice is BS. You can eat 3 times as much without the rice. Sushi "rolls" have rice. That is what you're ordering. Eat what you order. There are non all you can eat options too. Order by the roll and leave as much on your plate as you want. And lastly, someone said you only get one time to order appetizers. Did you ask? We reorder shumai and shrimp tempura as well as other appetizers nearly every time we go. The app order gets torn off your sheet and given to the kitchen while the roll order goes to the sushi chefs. When you get the sheet back to reorder, the app part is missing, but all you need to do is ask. Please, do not let these few negative reviews skew you. Call to make a reservation, go there, enjoy the food, and form your own opinion. If you like sushi, you'll love this place. My only complaint? They are closed Sundays. read more

Where do I start! What a wonderful restaurant. This quaint, clean restaurant was located near a strip mall. The place is new to North Haledon. We went in a large group of 12 (6 adults and 6 kids). We all loved the place. The atmosphere was great. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing!!!!!!! It was so fresh and the sushi and sashimi was fantastic. It was a BYO which was even nicer and the bill was very reasonable! We all said we would go back! It was 20 minutes from our home but well worth it.
