After our IKEA side quest, my girl and I decided to go to one of our favorite sushi spots, Bento Box. Like always, we were seated quickly and got ready to order. This time, we decided to try something different. My girl got the Thai chicken bento box, and I got the teriyaki shrimp bento box. We also ordered a 50/50 sushi roll, jalapeño bombs, potstickers, and of course, sake bombs because you can never go wrong with sake bombs. The jalapeño bombs were amazing like always. This was my first time getting the potstickers from Bento Box, but I got them steamed instead of fried, and that turned out to be a great choice because they were really good. It was also my first time trying the teriyaki shrimp bento box. Since shrimp is small, I was worried I wouldn't get enough, but they gave me a really good amount. The portion was balanced well, and I appreciated that they included extra teriyaki dipping sauce for the shrimp. The salad in the box was amazing too , honestly just as good as the shrimp. My girl's Thai chicken bento box came with a surprising amount of chicken. I definitely wasn't expecting that much. And like a good boyfriend, I had to steal a few bites from her plate. The Thai chicken was amazing. It was my first time trying it, and it definitely won't be my last. The 50/50 sushi roll was also really good. I love smoked salmon, and putting smoked salmon in sushi is chef's kiss. The flavors worked really well together, and it was a nice addition alongside the bento boxes. Overall, this outing at Bento Box was amazing. Great food, good portions, and another reminder why it's one of our favorite sushi spots. I'm 100% sure we'll be back again. read more

I like to test out places who carry raw fish/sashimi by ordering their chirashi donburi (assorted fish bowl). Selection of fishes were standard. The freshness was awful. Was very satisfied with the Hot Honey Chicken Bento box. This place was very big inside but not really busy. The bento box i got was well priced and had plenty of chicken. I loved the way the chicken was actually spicy but not overwhelming spicy where you can't taste the the honey. Great balanced of flavors. Went here for dinner for my anniversary before a show at the SAFE credit union. The restaurant is big and nice, but I think the ambience it has is more so a place to eat with family or friends rather than a romantic date night. There is lots of available seating in the restaurant and it was relatively full when we dined in. The service was good. The workers were nice. I personally enjoyed my meal, I got a vegetarian roll, the Z roll which was yummy (as well as a hand roll). All the rolls were 50% off which was nice, I do feel that half off is a fair price to pay for the rolls themselves. If you want sauce on the side, like spicy mayo, they charge $1 extra for it. I think I would come here again to try their bento box at least once and more so because of the convenient location of being near the SAFE credit union. read more

I was craving Asian food and this is one of the few open options late night. The service at the bar is quick and the food quality is good. The menu is very expansive, but there are many options for everyone. This is a large restaurant and can handle large parties. The restaurant is clean and easy to access from nearby hotels. 2.5 stars The presentation looks nice (see photos), but the quality didn't match. The rice didn't taste fresh, and the fish wasn't fresh either--which is a big concern for sushi. Tried the rainbow roll and spicy dragon roll, and both looked good but were surprisingly bland with very little flavor. Even the bento box was just okay--nothing really stood out. Service was solid and the staff were friendly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I ended up with stomach discomfort afterward, which made the experience worse overall. Decided to check it out like 6 o'clock on a weekday. Got wings straight burnt with lots of lemon pepper seasoning on it!!!! The bento box had a fortune cookie in one of the slots lol! We went here for a work lunch. There were 9 of us. We arrived around 11:45am, we thought they opened at 11:30, it turned out that they don't open till Noon. We all waited outside till Noon. They didn't open a minute early. The place was empty, we defiantly didn't need reservations. They put an extra chair at a table of 8 for us. We were immediately given water when we sat down. We were asked if we wanted drinks. One coworkers said she wanted hot tea. He eventually came back and took our orders. Our orders came out in a timely matter. After that we didn't get checked on. We were in the walk way from the kitchen to the rest of the restaurant, but he never checked on us. We had to hunt him down to get our check. I ordered the Thursday Bento Box Special. It came with salad, pickled cucumbers, white rice mound, and teriyaki chicken. It was really good. It was a lot of food. I took half of the teriyaki chicken home. We were looking for something close to the convention center and stumbled upon this place. A large spacious restaurant, I was a bit skeptical, but we were hungry! Very glad to find that the food here was actually pretty tasty, and very reasonably priced! Bento Box special #1 was what I picked, and you could select the sushi roll with it. My husband ordered the daily special, and the amount of meat was huge, lol. The tempura was my favorite, it wasn't over battered, and tasted fresh! Even the Teriyaki chicken was clean tasting and not drenched in sauce like a bad cover-up job, lol. Came in on a Wednesday evening around 6. Crowd was pretty empty. My friends and I were seated at the bar and given waters and menus. The food prices here aren't high but they also aren't serving anything of high quality here either. For chicken thighs doused in teriyaki sauce, a simple salad, mixed shrimp tempura, white rice and 4 California rolls or was $22 before tax. Some of the sweet potatoes in the tempura mix were burnt, the shrimp was really good I'll give them that. The deep fried California rolls were solid. Simple but big and filled with imitation crab. The chicken teriyaki wasn't bad they just were cooked and sauce was poured over them. Didn't knock my socks off. I honestly feel like I could make something better. The server also told my table it would be an extra $1 charge for a side of siracha. I've never been to Bento box and I am in no rush to go back. It's what the kids call mid. While looking over the menu and preparing to be seated, one of our friends needed to use the restroom. Later, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and returned, this time recording the experience to see if it was a one-time issue. Waitstaff, armed with their ipads were ready to take your order with a smile. Upon entering you'll see a sign that says "50% off all sushi rolls". I was excited until I saw that most rolls were $25-$29, of course they're half off! We tried a jalapeño bomb appetizer, forgot the name of the roll but it has jalapeño in it and bacon topping and was about $28 before the discount, and a tofu teriyaki bento box. Appetizer was aesthetic but overpriced. The roll was good but the bacon was not, the tofu was cooked agedashi style served with a teriyaki dipping sauce. First time here after always passing by. Amazing service. I food was great, no complaints at all. Got the bento box #3 and the spicy garlic edamame BEST EDAMAME IVE EVER HAD. Johnathon, Luis Irene, and Erick helped me and were extremely polite and had good recommendations. I believe overall the service was better than anything they do a good job with their employees. My friend and I came here for dinner on a Friday night around 6:30PM. We were seated pretty fast, but the restaurant started getting noticeably busier after we ordered. The inside of the restaurant is pretty spacious, and there's a bar area with a few TV monitors propped on the walls. It does get a little loud depending on the crowd. Our waiter Erick was very personable and kind. He was busy running around and taking care of other tables during the busy dinner rush, but he checked in and connected with us whenever he had the chance. Sushi rolls are apparently 50% off, but my friend said they always have that offer up. The menus price the rolls around $25, but they end up half off. We each got our own roll. I ordered the Alex roll, which came with spicy tuna and shrimp tempura on the inside, topped with salmon, unagi sauce, and spicy mayo. I personally really like the way the sushi was rolled and cut - there were no "end" pieces with the huge tempura sticking out, which I'm not a huge fan of. And each piece was sliced in a manageable size to eat. The roll was cut into 9 pieces. It might look small, but I ended up full and satisfied with just the one roll. If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. Went for dinner tonight with my family and ordered a noodle and chicken plate. I ordered it mildly spicy. When my food was delivered it was so spicy it was not edible. I asked my waiter if they could remake it for me and he said yes, but that I would still need to pay for the meal. I was shocked to hear that and asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Ashley Le, came over and refused to remake the dish. She said "spice level is subjective". I told her I would not be paying for the meal because I wasn't satisfied and didnt even eat it. I told her this was horrible customer service and she said, "Customer service is subjective." She said she would not be removing it from the bill. We went back and forth like this for about 5 minutes. I finally said "you can either take it off the bill and let us pay for the rest of our meal or we will leave without paying for anything". This finally got through to her and she reluctantly removed it from the bill. This restaurant has completely gone down hill. It was completely empty at dinner time on a weeknight, and now I understand why! Medium quality food, horrible service.
