This was perfect for lunch! I have eaten here a few times while in the area and it was exactly what I had hoped it would be. The space was clean and the food came quickly. What else can you ask for when grabbing a quick lunch. I got the chicken shawarma pita and it was delicious. I also got a side of the hummus and it was well prepared (not too oily and good consistency). Great Mediterranean food and surpasses many of the restaurants in the vicinity. This is my new favorite mediterranean restaurant! We just moved to El Segundo in the spring and we have already ordered takeout from Aristo four times (we don't order out often). Our favorite dish is the Chicken Shawarma Plate and we also enjoy the Dolmathes for appetizers and the Baklava for dessert. My husband and I decided to try some new take-out and selected Aristo for is extensive Mediterranean menu. The Lamb Gyro was delicious and all of the items on the vegetarian appetizer plate. With the rapid decline of one of our main lunch spots (Sabra Beirut Mix) we have been exploring other options, our first choice was to be Hummus Factory in downtown El Segundo, upon walking in we were informed that there would be a 15-20 minute wait before they could even start our order because they were working on a big order and there was no grill space, so we decided to go down the road to Orleans and York, however as we pulled up we remembered that there was a new Mediterranean restaurant in the same plaza so we decided to give Aristo Café a try. Upon first glance it look inviting and the staff was very friendly, the prices were very much in line with other Mediterranean restaurants so we placed our orders, after sitting down a large plate of humus and a basket of pita was brought to the table for our party of 4 to share, the pitas were warm which is not usually the case at many of the other restaurants we visit and the humus was very tasty and of the proper consistency. Next came the entrees, Chicken and Beef Shawarma and 2 Beef Kabob plates, the plates were very nice size and came with rice, salad and the entrée meat, all were very tasty and filling. Combined with the friendly service and reasonable prices I can see us making return visits to Aristo Café when we are in the mood for Mediterranean food. read more

Service is terrible: cashier had no smile, she had a passive attitude when asked what I can add to my gyro, they were arguing blatantly in front of customers about something petty. As far as the food goes, Im waiting 25 min for a gyro... Ambiance sucks, extremely bland, no music (well it's at -1000 decibels), it's quiet but creepy quiet where no one seems happy and everyone keeps to themselves. The bodega down the street has more character and life than ER room. I dont care if this is the best mediatearrean food on the planet. Hands down the best chicken shawarma wrap I've ever had! I've had a lot. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was super juicy. There was a ton of delicious seasoning on it as well as a garlic sauce with a side of fries or salad and it came out to around $8. WOW! I'm definitely coming back to this place, without a doubt. I was on the hunt for a good Mediterranean restaurant nearby and I've tried a couple of places in El Segundo and none of them were satisfying. But this place takes the cake! My co-workers and I already told my entire office about it and we are already planning a take-out day for next week. LOL So I had the veggie kabob plate and wow the vegetables were so delicious, fresh and juicy. Perfectly seasoned! there wasn't an overwhelming taste of spices so that was good! It came with jasmine rice, pita bread, salad, and hummus. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. At first, I thought I was going to have leftovers but nothing was left on my plate. My co-worker had the tri-tip shawarma and she said it was delicious as well. Definitely going back! I'm glad I found a Mediterranean restaurant in El Segundo! Lives up to the hype. OMG THE FOOD HERE! Amazing flavor everything was hot fresh and homemade from scratch very generous portion also ...I ordered the eggplant Parmesan it's seriously the best anywhere my daughter had the chicken on the skewer it was tender juicy not dry like many places the flavor oh my goodness how do they get these flavors? My son had the falafel which I don't like anywhere but his was phenomenal tasting so fresh and hot all of the food perfect!!! My two friends and I visited this restaurant after a day at the beach. We were all very satisfied with our food. I got the lamb kebab, my friend got the chicken kebab and another friend got the vegetarian selection. My lamb kebab was delicious. The servings were very big and I initially thought I'd eat only half however, the food was too delicious I ended up eating most of my food. The chicken kebab got very high ratings and my friend LOVED her falafel. The owner served us with piping hot pita bread (yum) and was also so kind to give us free mouth watering baklava (which he makes himself). The owner was very friendly and made us all feel so welcome. Aristo Cafe is hands down the best Mediterranean food not just in the South Bay, but that I have ever tried. Everything from the shawarma, hummus, salads and sandwiches is amazing. You can really taste the freshness and quality of each ingredient. No wonder they have been in business over 20 years. I stopped in for lunch today and ordered the Fatoosh salad with tri tip. The salad originally came without the tri-tip, but the staff made sure to correct the mistake as soon as possible and apologized gracefully for their error. All in all, the restaurant was pleasantly quiet and it was easy to hold a conversation inside. The staff was friendly and checked up on us often.
