All four of us enjoyed our delicious food tonight ! 10/10 Me and my bonus son both had the brisket sliders and loved the mild coyote bbq sauce. My boyfriend loved the bbq ribs and baked beans ( made with turkey ). My other bonus son loved his chicken sliders and greens. The hospitality from us server was great, she was very friendly! Coleslaw was amazing just enough tang from the vinegar. The meat was just delicious and Chef was out in the front cleaning up and there was only one other person in there at the time so it was in between hours, but he got on his base and started jamming and did a blues classic session. I had a pulled chicken sandwich that just melted in my mouth. The beans were super flavorful and my side of brisket, which is always my true test of a bbq joint, was fork tender with a great smoke ring and terrific rub. The service was special. Warm, welcoming. Highly overpriced and food was just really disappointing, $22 for a bbq cheeseburger and scoop of potato salad. I was shocked when my burger arrived, i think it was a pre-frozen patty on a huge bun. This experience was so bad I can only describe it in short notes instead of a drawn out story. Online menu did not match the menu for the day. Menu was disjointed and written on a piece of paper that was photo copied several times for other customers. Most items had a higher listing price than what's on the website. The silverware was wrapped in a dirty half paper towel sheet. Ghost town. Busy decor. No comfortable space. Dead at noon on a Saturday. Server kept loudly coughing. We got the Mac and cheese pulled pork skillet and the brisket sliders. 2 pickle coins for 3 sliders. Menu said Slider basket with fries, no fries came with the order. Pulled pork was too sweet and had the texture of baby food. It was served in a Hot cast iron with no handle cover or verbal warning about the temperature. $47 for two items and one of the items was incomplete. Server used her personal phone to charge for food and asked how much we'd like to tip so she can add it on instead of using the register they have behind the counter. This place must've been good in the past based on its ratings, but it is no longer whatever it used to be. read more

I came here for my uncles birthday party. It's a small place with a great atmosphere. They had live music which was nice. But everything else was a nightmare. They need food service training. As the server brought out our feed, she carried it up against her body so that the food was leaning up against clothing that was duet from working and other plates. She brought out the silverware holding it by the eating side. There is one plate of ribs that came out under under arm with her breast resting in the meat. Absolutely disgusting. On top of that the service was terrible. Each persons dish came out individually. So by the time the next plate came out, the other persons food was cold from waiting or they had finished their meal. Mine took so long that we were packing to leave then my food came rushing out. We ordered a veggie try for the tables I pointed out that the dip was already pricked at and half eaten when they brought it out. The waitress. Keep playing with her hair and picking up food and drink glasses by the rim. Dang. People said the food was good, but I couldn't. I couldn't eat or drink anything because it was so gross. I was determined to escape from the local hotel lobby/cafe, which was good, but I wanted to experience a local place. I saw AZ BBQ Shack was a few miles away and decided to give it a try. What a wonderful discovery! The food - the brisket and catfish - were the best I've ever had. The bartender/waitress, Shay, made a mean Old Fashioned and was kind and attentive. I wound up coming back here 3 days during my week long trip, and got to know Chef Joe a bit. It felt special to see him on stage, playing guitar and piano...a distincly unique and local vibe. Sometimes there were only a few of us in the place, but Joe played his heart out. The rotating cast of players that jumped onstage made this place even more special. The musicians were all stellar and brought a smile to my face. What started out as dinner at a local place became much more, as I returned two more times for local Scottsdale experiences I'll never forget. Thank you Joe and Shay and all the locals who I met at the bar. You made this NYer forget about the Big Apple for a few hours each night. :) Super friendly staff and patrons. Great music.
