    Cranberry feta chicken walnut salad.
    Cynthia C.

Cute, family-owned restaurant with large portions and is simple yet incredibly satisfying. This salad, soup, sandwich shop has all the combinations you could want and is completely customizable. The young employee actually encouraged modifications to ensure I was completely happy with my order.

We stopped here to get some sourdough bread and realized they have delicious looking sandwiches. We had already eaten so will have to return to try it. However, we managed to grab some pea soup and it was yummy. Will update once we tried more things. Enjoy!!

Wow! What a find. We were driving by and randomly stopped in. The service was lovely. I ordered the half chicken salad sandwich and small Caesar salad. The salad was fresh with fantastic croutons. The chicken salad was memorable. My hubby ordered the Scottsdale sandwich and it was delicious as well. The most notable thing was we also got a slice of the fresh made apricot walnut bread. It was jeweled edible art.

    Chicken noodle soup

What is this chicken noodle soup?! It literally has no seasonings and is so bland. The only saving grace was dipping bread into it. So bland and boring.

It was family homemade pasta night, and it was my responsibility to bring "crusty bread". I wanted to bring bread that was eccentric and electric. Bread from Safeway was not going to cut it and farmers market dominant Proof & Noble Bread are not nearby. I came across Arizona Bread Co, a locally owned mom n pop bakery and restaurant. I rolled up to the counter but was amazed to see how busy the restaurant was on a Saturday morning. The menu looks nice, I'd definitely be interested in giving it a try. I ordered a large sourdough bread, which was sliced for me at the shop. The bread was very good and was a hit within the family. It's nice to know that good local bread is so close.

Scottsdale club sandwich on honey wheat. This is half!

Had been here once a really long time ago. Decided to try for dine in lunch today. We tried a club sandwich on honey wheat. Very tasty ! Sandwiches are enormous. Half would be plenty for most. I tried the combo cup of soup and chicken salad. It was delicious. Came with your choice of yummy fresh sliced bread. Friendly and accommodating service. Comfortable and pleasant dining area. Self-serve beverages. Only negative was staff clean up of dining area including chairs put up on tables started more than 30 minutes before closing time. I'd like to come back for breakfast. Also to buy a loaf of that wonderful cranberry orange bread. Sooo good!

For our bagel, we ordered an everything bagel with charcuterie cream cheese, which I can best describe as everything but the kitchen sink - capicola, mortadella, salami, provolone, artichokes, tomoatoes, roasted peppers, pepperocini, olives and red onion - all chopped up and mixed into the cream cheese. Somehow it all seems to work in terms of flavor, but as for the bagel itself I wish it were a bit bigger and had more chew, although it was decent. The biggest disappointment was with our cinnamon roll and coffees. They were out of the regular cinnamon roll so we ordered the salted caramel one. The sad part was it was cold. I mean who wants a cold cinnamon roll, even the one at Cinnabon is warm. As for the coffees, we ordered the banana hazelnut and strawberry matcha. We assumed the coffees would be hot but were given iced coffees. Only later we noticed they can be ordered either hot or iced, and wished the server had asked for our preference. As for the iced coffees, I'm not quite sure I understand the whole concept of putting them in soda cans, as the foam got stuck to the top of the can and all the flavor sank down to the bottom.

At this one, the mural is awesome -- it pays homage to vehicles from past television shows. (See how many you recognize! I laughed pretty hard at Thomas the Tank Engine since I watched that with my kids.) I am on a quest to try every sandwich from the Cheba Hut menu and I have worked my way through most of the main menu. I am mostly finishing up the vegetarian section before hitting the grilled cheese. (Peanut butter and honey on wheat is great, BTW!) I mention this because there is a "Secret Stash" menu and this shop features the "Bikini Bottom." When I ordered it, the cashier got excited because, "nobody orders that one!" Apparently, I am that guy. The Bikini Bottom: cream cheese, turkey, onions, pineapple, strawberry jelly, provolone, and bacon. I had it on the Parmesan herb bread with the jalapeño cream cheese option and it was quite tasty. I don't know what is wrong with people :D It is too bad that this location is so far from where I live, but it is nice to know that it is here for when I am far from home and need a "toasted" sandwich. Oh, don't forget the Kool-Aid! (Grape, Blue and Red)
