Wildflower at the Phoenix Airport deserves way more than five stars. I stopped in near closing time and ordered the vegetarian lentil soup before my flight. The soup was delicious, though it was warm rather than hot, and I'm admittedly a little picky about that. When I mentioned it, the employee couldn't have been kinder and surprised me with a complimentary chocolate chip scone. Now for the embarrassing part. Somehow, while leaving, I managed to create a full-blown dramatic airport scene by tripping over a refrigerator and performing what can only be described as a slow-motion fall. Thankfully, I wasn't seriously hurt--just a few bruises and a wounded ego. The lentil soup was hearty and flavorful, and the chocolate chip scone was absolutely to die for: flaky, warm, and tasting like it had just come out of the oven. I boarded my flight and later realized my phone was missing. After using Find My iPhone, I discovered it had somehow ended up behind the register during my graceful tumble. I put it in Lost Mode and made it play a sound. This is where the story gets incredible. Destiny, the General Manager, found my phone and went above and beyond by arranging to have it shipped all the way to California. Great food, exceptional people, and customer service that is truly unforgettable. My stomach is growling just thinking about that lentil soup and scone. I'll absolutely be stopping at Wildflower every time I fly through Phoenix. read more

I've been a huge fan of the potato cream cheese soup since early chandler mall days...so circa 2007?? Everytime ive gone the soup was consistently good and reminded me of the old days. My coworker ordered us lunch and per my usual I ordered the potato cream cheese soup and she ordered a sandwich. 1- her order was wrong. She ended up with a half sandwich and salad 2- my soup was literally watery cream. No potato. No ham. No flavor. It was just warmed up water and cream. Not the usual thick creamy dill soup loaded with shredded potatoes and ham. About 15 mins after eating my food I felt super sick. Not too long after my coworker was sick too. We imagine it was something with the bread since that's the only thing we ate in common. But it could also have been cross contamination. Not sure exactly. Stopped in last week with a friend and did a half salad and a half portion of soup. I'm not typically a soup person but the potato cream cheese is gluten free and it's monsoon season here in AZ! The soup was cold, so I took it to-go but the salad was delicious. I will skip the soup next time and just get my normal chicken caesar salad but this is a great lunch spot. This is a nice place with a large outdoor patio and lots of inside seating. There is no table service. Prices are reasonable for Scottsdale. You order at the counter and pick up your order to eat at a table or to go. They make great baked goods (loved the cookies) and wonderful fresh soups. The soups vary, with daily specials. They also make wonderful salads and I really like the grilled cheese sandwich, which has a tasty mix of a few kinds of cheese melted together, and their freshly baked bread. It's a nice location to take kids because across the street is the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, and you can see the beautiful big red train from the restaurant. read more

We'd never been to Wildflower before and had just finished playing at the Railroad Park across the way around noon, so we decided to hop over and grab some lunch before the drive home. We looked at the other restaurants in the area, but Wildflower seemed like the best choice for a quick bite versus the other sit-down full service places nearby (we were getting close to our toddler's nap time). Positives: 1) Broccoli cheddar and potato cream cheese soups were amazing. 2) Our toddler absolutely demolished the kids meatballs, and there were some awesome options listed for kids. Negatives: 1) We waited for over 30 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. 2) When the food did arrive, one of our soups came without a spoon so I had to go up to the kitchen area and wave down a waiter to get one. 3) The milk/drink for the kids meal never arrived. 4) BLTA with a cold slab of American cheese tossed on top was a little weird. I think overall the kitchen is a little understaffed, and they're trying to keep up the best they can, but they got overrun today. I'm usually at Wildflower earlier in the day and love the Chicken Salad sandwich, but today I happened to be there later and ordered the Zesty Lemon Chicken Pasta dish. The smell of the garlic bread was so good, I couldn't wait to get home. It was delicious and the Zesty Lemon Chicken Pasta dish was as good as any upscale Italian restaurant. I loved it!! It was a generous portion, so I'll be having it for dinner again tomorrow. I will definitely be ordering it again! read more

The food is good, but oh my heavens do NOT order the Matcha drinks. Matcha is not supposed to be white in color..... They are heavily diluting this in milk or they're just not using enough Matcha. All I know is this is hands-down the worst Matcha I have ever tried in the Scottsdale area. read more

The gluten free banana pancakes were delicious! I have to say (warning: more GF blah blah) I asked if the oatmeal is gluten free because it doesn't say it is on the menu. The cashier asked and came back with a yes buuuuuuut I didn't trust that. Again, it doesn't say GF on the menu, which is where I feel it would have been confirmed, since other items DO say gluten free, like my aforementioned YUMMY banana nut pancakes. After discovering Wildflower during our stay in Sedona, we were thrilled to find another location once we got to Scottsdale. We had no idea it was a local chain, and after our first experience, we were more than ready for round two. We walked in just after opening and were greeted by Mae--an absolute gem of a human. She's been with Wildflower for 14 years and clearly takes so much pride in what she does. Honestly, if every restaurant had a Mae, the world wouldn't need anything below a 5-star review. I'd passed on the avocado toast this time (meh in Sedona), and went for the lemon pancakes with berry compote--and wow, no regrets. Mae overheard that my sister and I were planning to split them and had the kitchen plate our halves separately. It was such a thoughtful touch and really made us feel taken care of. Everyone else was just as happy: the regular pancakes and the breakfast burrito were both big hits again, and Mae's recommendation of the cranberry scone and blueberry muffin was spot on. Loved the side of bacon - would pass on turkey sausage patty next time. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. We'll be back in Scottsdale this fall, and you can bet Wildflower is on the list--hopefully with a side of Mae. read more

Good for either takeout or to go with open seating. You order at the counter and the server brings the food out to you. This one is located in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I opted for the WF Two; half Asian salad and half almond tuna as well as an iced oat milk latte with honey and cinnamon. The portions were generous. I've had the tuna sandwich before and really enjoyed it. It's tasty and filling. The salad came with field greens, green and red cabbage, cucumbers, organic carrots, celery, jicama, scallions, toasted sesame seeds, crispy noodles, and Thai peanut dressing. I was really surprised because the food here is usually fresh but then again I normally don't order their salads. Not sure if I will order the salads in the future because it's not very appetizing. Had an awesome early dinner here with my GF. I'd come to the Wildflower in Tempe many times when I was growing up so naturally I've got some good memories with this place, however this was my first time at this location. I always loved their Passionfruit tea here and it tasted just as refreshing as I had remembered it being. This is my favorite iced tea I can get probably anywhere. I tried the chipotle chicken melt today and it was very yummy I must say. I took the tomatoes off as I wasn't feeling them today, and it did improve the taste for me. Call me crazy, not every sandwich requires them. My lady got the Mac and cheese with a side elote. She liked the Mac overall and said it was pretty good, and the elote had an interesting taste, not bad by any means and not too spicy but there was a hint there. The passionfruit tea remains my favorite item here and, though I was not blown away by the sandwich, it was still delicious. The booths are comfy and nicely maintained, and very conveniently feature outlets underneath each and every single one of them for those looking to have a meeting with a coworker or a spot to connect to WiFi and complete some work. The atmosphere was mellow and the music wasn't too loud, and the service from staff was very attentive, the bussers were very on top of things. Assuredly, we look forward to coming back and trying more items and we feel so lucky to have this right down the street! There's even one by my girlfriend's place at the Chandler Mall that she can order from as well! This was a staple in my childhood. Fabric seats were stained, there were tables that sat un-bussed for almost an hour while we were there. Just kind of an ick feel to it. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich but wrapped in lettuce. I thought it would actually be wrapped in the lettuce but it was just a lettuce leaf with the sandwich filling and then another leaf thrown on top. Had to eat with a knife and fork.
