The folks here are very professional, funny and down to earth. Rick was the guy that did my tattoo which he covered and old one. Anyways my husband and I got to be really close to the owner Justin, he is really an awesome guy and he has passion for all his work and we are part of his family vice versa. He did my husband's tattoos, which turned out amazing. Then next he will be doing my tattoo which will take time to do. Check out this place , no bs, just down to earth artist with passion. Will always be coming here

got this done on Friday the thirteenth and I'm extremely unsatisfied due to the fact that the "spade" isn't symmetrical and really bumpy on one side. The line work is amateur for someone that's been tattooing for 18 years. After actually seeing the tattoo at home, I decided to drive back to see if they could fix the spade but dude said he'd have to charge me $20 which was no problem then he said he'd do it for free... so which one is it? just to be polite i said i'd come back but why even go back to get a touch up if this tattoo is already shitty.

Best tattoo shop in Vallejo. Long time Vallejo resident and stumbled upon this shop only to realize how great a tattoo place can be. Totally down to earth artist, no sermons, no bullshit, just good tattoos. I have over 30 tattoos, I only wish I found this shop sooner. The quality and service are above and beyond. I got a tattoo from this place during one of their friday the 13th specials. My tattoo is completely crooked, and I am embarrassed because of how bad it looks. I had to wait there forever to be seen. I plan to get this tattoo removed eventually. There are much better tattoo shops out there. My tattoo looks horrible. The tattoo also smudged due to the "after-care" they suggested. The plastic was unnecessary and caused my tattoo to spread. To make it worse it was the OWNER, Joshua, who did my tattoo. He even commented that it wasn't straight because I was "moving too much." Been trying to get tatted here for about two months. Same run around story... Vick told me he'd be ready at 6pm to tatt me. Doesn't call me until 7:15 talmbout "you ready" Called last week, left my info with the lady-apprentice. On the phone with her for about 5 minutes. Tell me the artist will contact me shortly... still waiting for that call back Yesterday 10/30/2020... I walk in at approximately 2:40... give her my ID, sign their waiver...... "Vic will be here shortly from our other shop" 40 minutes late, I ask "is the other shop in Vallejo? Fairfield, concord????" The other artist says "no it's in Vallejo" So they call Vick and see where he's at "oh it's gonna be like another 15 minutes" Fuck these clowns read more

Right as I walk in a see a guy coming towards the door so I offer to hold it open for him because I thought he was leaving. Then he gives me a douche bag tone saying he works there. Then he's like "well you're not going to say hello". I seriously thought you were a customer leaving. My bad. Normally I use this whole yelp crap for negative reviews! This is the exception! Justin took a grungy old eyesore of a building and made it beautiful (AND VERY CLEAN!)! With its beautiful marquee outside showcasing "Shipyard Tattoo" and 30' American flag flying proudly above the shop, you almost get a sense of Hollywood when you first arrive. That sense rings true as you walk in the door and are warmly greeted by all of the artists and whoever is at the front desk! Some shops stick to what their artists do only and aren't always super welcoming of new ideas, but this is far from true with these guys! Their creativity and "can do" attitude is really comforting, especially when it's something that has sentimental value! Justin has always been a huge help and I look forward to getting more work done! I'm always referring people here and I will continue to do so! Good work Justin and crew! read more

Nobody rushed me with "hello what do you want" or shoved a color wall in my face before I even sat down. I actually felt like a person, not just another number to get in and out. It wasn't until I was sitting there that I realized how used to bad treatment I'd gotten. Other salons trained me without me even noticing, packed into a tiny space, treated like I'm on a conveyor belt, rushed out before my nails even had time to properly dry. I had honestly forgotten my time and my experience mattered. Delane's brought that back for me. The professionalism was on another level too. No games with the price going up if you don't tip in cash, which is honestly tacky and rude and tells you exactly how little they think of their customers. Nobody crowding me in next to three other people either. It was calm, it was peaceful, it actually felt relaxing instead of stressful. And the cleanliness. Towels were fresh, equipment looked properly cleaned, none of that murky blue water sitting in a dirty container that's clearly been there for who knows how long. Even the bathroom was clean, and that alone tells you a lot about how a place is really run. I spent $150 ($50 deposit, $100 day of service) for gel nails that haven't even lasted as long as regular polish. Not to mention, when I arrived there were no instructions on how to get into the building. No signage. No way to communicate with her. I almost left until she texted me 7 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. I'm pregnant and I was out waiting in the rain as I had taken a Lyft there. I want my money back! Reviews arent normally my thing but, this is a case I am willing to make an exception as this shop is worth every ounce of praise. The place; The first thing I noticed walking in is this shop has an immense amount of atmosphere. The wood boards, stained floor, and nautical color choice give it a real designed look (many other shops I have been to seem to just messily throw pictures all around on the walls). The attentiveness to detail made it pretty clear I was in a place that was all about quality. The Artist; Justin is immensly inviting and proffesional. He pays attention to exactly what you want as a customer, while providing a sense of confidence and honesty about his abilities as an artist. He is easy going and patient so it makes it really easy to bounce ideas off one another to get your tattoo exactly right. Please don't spend money here, they don't even deserve one star!!! I scheduled an appointment about a week in advance to get a tattoo that I needed by a certain day and I talked to Justin who was aware of the deadline and he agreed to do the tattoo. I paid a $50 deposit and had an appointment booked and showed up at the appointment time and was told he wasn't in because he was out of town getting married. I completely understand having other priorities and getting married seems to be a pretty good reason to skip a tattoo appointment but I didn't receive any notice that he wasn't going to be there nor did I receive a refund for my deposit. I've texted Justin twice and called the shop multiple times asking for him and he has never been in and hasn't returned my texts or my money. read more

Love this place so much, I've come like 3 times to complete and add to the piece on my leg and Justin hooks it up every time. Legendary, always makes funny comments and jokes and keeps the mood light. The shop is so clean and they have a bunch of super cool flash designs on the wall. Hands down the best tattoo shop in Vallejo... I've been tattooed at three different shops and this was the highest quality Studio. The artists were knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. Got some flash done here in Friday the 13th. Such a fun and laid back shop. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Also accommodating. An artist let my friend stay late to finish up his tattoo until 2am with no complaints. I plan to go back to get my birthday tattoo this year. read more
