3 slices of pizza
Chris M.

I haven't been to this place in a long time wanted lunch and figured I'd give them a try. The service was good. They had difficulty fitting 3 slices in a box and it took them 5 minutes to do so. But, the pizza was good. I got a slice of plain. A slice of Margherita and a slice of rigatoni vodka. All the pizza was tasty. The ambiance has a restaurant in the back and a small eating area in the front and outside. I do recommend them and I will return in the future. Also the selection of slices is enormous.

The whole restaurant smelled like cologne. The manager tried to kick me out even though i ordered a soda and it was ridiculous.

BBQ Chicken Slice
Steve S.

I recently tried this restaurant, specifically for their pizzas slices, and it was great. I am a big fan of buffalo chicken pizza, and this place makes an excellent slice. I tried both their BBQ chicken slice and their Buffalo chicken slice. They were both amazing. Each slice is loaded with lots of chicken, which is so great. You definitely get your money worth here for a slice. I loved both of them equally, and would love to try some more of their pizza slices that they offer. I will definitely be coming back here again for some more of their delicious pizza. Cant wait to try some more of their pizza and other menu items too

Sort of a light, fluffy dough, but crispy? Not thick like a focaccia or heavy like Sicilian, but also, not unlike those two? It's not New York Style. My sister-in-law loves to get their salad with grilled chicken. They give you a lot of chicken (this is takeout, we do both). It's nicely grilled and seasoned. I got the linguini Alfredo because they have that big wheel of cheese, and I think they make it in the wheel? Again, this was takeout. Not my favorite thing I've ordered there. But again, it's a pizza place, get pizza. The staff is really nice. I mean it's young people (I'm very old), like college age, which in my opinion can be hit or miss. You know they like to make those TikTok dances. That's all they care about. But these kids are uniformly friendly and customer-focused. Nice kids. And the place is cute inside.

I asked if they had more cheese coming out and they showed me the full tray of cheese and said they had some. I asked for a fresh slice but instead they went for the lone dried one under the glass. When I asked if I could get a fresh slice another employee came up to me and said I couldn't and that the batch of pies on the racks behind all came out at the same time a while ago. Huh? I asked again if I could simply get a fresh one from the trays behind him and was told no. Weird flex but okay -wow. I said no thanks and simply went to pay for a water bottle for my son. The manager asked if he was ringing me up for a water and a slice to which I replied "No they refused to serve me a fresh slice"- thinking he would have a focus on customer service and even remedy this. Nope. Just replied with "So just the water then?" Disappointing. There was no line, no rush. Any decent slice shop will proactively tell you to wait a few min for a fresh pie but this place didn't seem to care even when asked. Sadly, I have been here before and enjoyed the slices but we won't be returning any more. Save your money for a place that actually values customers.

For the pepperoni slices/pie that add the PERFECT AMOUNT of pepperoni- and you can ask for very little crust or a lot! They provide the most personal experience when it comes to choosing what you want on your pizza, they aim to please! All the guys behind the counter are such a joy, when you walk in everyone says hello & they remember your name too! The owner (Louis, I think) has a passion for making real authentic Italian cuisine. Among the service, the product, the cleanliness, price & order time (so fast) I give Villafe "Trat. 5 stars- you don't need to drive k to Manhattan for a real taste of NYC pizza! Just remember on Fri & Sat night, put your order in early bc they are super busy, just what you would expect from a superior pizza/italian food restaurant. Those are the reasons they are my go-to pizza place! Oh & my sons absolutely RAVE about their buffalo chicken slices/pizza. I ordered pickup and drove around the street a few times looking for "Antico Arturo" and didn't see it. I wasted 15 minutes of my life looking for it, calling the place in Red Bank to see if my order was being made down there, then going back and walking into La Pastaria to ask if they sell under the name Antico Arturo. (It's not like there's anything on the sign of door or windows indicating if you ordered Antico Arturo that you've come to the right place.) The lady told me yes. I asked if they were changing the name of the store. She told me no. I asked why they sell under the other name. "We just do." Oh, cool. Anyway the food is edible but not much more than that. Pizza tasted fairly close to high school pizza. It is nothing like the picture you see on the Antico Arturo website. I guess that's the one you get in Red Bank. Also they charge $21 for it and this pizza was like a small personal pizza size, maybe 12 inches. The picture online looks like a big nice pizza. It's completely false advertising. I don't know how this place gets away with it.

There was a significant amount of bread "hangage" because of the small size of the cutlet. I asked for extra sauce on the side, which I didn't get, but that wasn't a big deal because the chicken was cooked perfectly and not dry. Though it would've been nice to have the sauce to dip the extra bread in. Pasta salad is great! The veggies are still Al dente and the vinaigrette that it's tossed in is lovely. I'll be back. *Pasta salad could have been packaged separately.

Recently got together with my old friend, who I haven't seen in a while (he's got some family…read moreissues going on, and is also trying to start an acting career in what little spare time he has. He's actually gotten some bit parts in independent films-- a Mafia wanna-be, a low-level thug, a Mafia enforcer, a bodyguard to the Mafia Don. He hasn't quite reached Sydney Greenstreet status, obviously, but he gets an A+ for effort. I've told him that when he gets the part of Seamus McGonigle, mystical poet and creator of whimsical artwork, then he'll know for sure that he's finally "made it" as an actor. Anyway...I digress...sorry...). I rode along as a passenger recently to visit his father in a nearby care facility (a major family issue, obviously, but I talked with his father at the place, and... although he seemed physically frail...we discussed old movies and he still seemed pretty sharp mentally, thank God!) and, afterwards, my friend was hungry, as was I. We weren't all that familiar with restaurants in the area, but he caught sight of Zio Gino in a tiny mall off of Shunpike Rd. and suggested that we try it out. I was agreeable, being both tired and hungry (I had to work the next day and wanted to make as early a night of it as possible). There was enough free parking in the lot fronting the mall, and the restaurant itself appears to be your standard neighborhood pizzeria. As much as I love pizza, I wasn't really in the mood for it. Thankfully, they offer a full-scale sit-down dinner menu. As I do in any Italian restaurant that's new to me, I ordered the Pasta Fagioli, and the lasagna. Service was pleasant, and efficient. Our orders were placed, and we were served with relative swiftness. I can't remember what my friend ordered, but I was served a moderately sized salad, and the soup in a large bowl. It was tasty and plentiful. The lasagna, too, was a large portion, and was tasty. Did it surpass the memory of my late mother's lasagna? No (I judge any lasagna I eat using the yardstick of that treasured memory), but I enjoyed it. Prices weren't cheap, but I can't think of any restaurants these days that serve plentiful portions of tasty food that charge "cheap" prices. Also...it is Chatham. If I have to register any complaint, it would be that the food could have been hotter (was that the result of microwave heating? Maybe. Probably.). I scarfed down everything on the plate and in the bowl, so obviously it wasn't a complaint of such gravity that I was forced to make an issue of it, but...it could have been served hotter. All in all, I'd recommend this restaurant; I'd like to return some day in the near future to try their pizza when I'm in more of a "pizza mood." And they also deliver and do catering. There's a catering menu printed on the back of their regular menu.
