Good enough pizza, with a variety of specialty pies. While it's a good joint for local dine-in/take-out pizza and Italian comfort food, by no means is the is a travel worthy destination location. I am really dramatic about my food, especially if it involves salad. There was a mis-communication about the type of salad I wanted and it was mostly my fault. The owner OR manager quickly saw I was upset and did not charge me. I was amazed how much he cared about one customer. Their pizza is great- especially the Grandma Pie!! And I LOVE the buffalo chicken salad, regardless of the lettuce leaves used. When I dined-in last weekend the service was friendly and attentive. Nice little corner spot on the main street in chatham. People are friendly, it is a pizzeria in the front with a dining section in the back. They offer hot bread at the dining in the back. I have been here multiple times. This place is definitely good value. Their pasta lunch portions are pretty big for around $7-$8. My favorite pasta dish is the tortellini aflorno. Its comes in a pink sauce with fresh mozzarella melted on top. Ive tried other pasta dishes, all which have been good. I would definitely stop in this place if you are looking for quality Italian food at a great price. read more

Have now eaten here several times - and admittedly it took a little while to settle out on this one. I try to base reviews in terms of what a restaurant presents itself as or claims to be - or what its rabid fans (if they exist) claim that it is. By that yardstick, Arminio's is a neighborhood joint more than a fine dining experience - so I could go to a better restaurant and rate it lower if it seems to over-claim. Right. So our first experience here was ordering a pizza take-out. Got home with it and found the crust to be somewhat on the tough side. Hmmm. Much later, did the dine-in thing and found the pizza to be really rather good - mind you, I'd still like a tiny bit more crust and WAY more cheese, sauce and topping than what seems to be the local norm in NJ - but this has a very tasty zip to the sauce that seems to often go missing. Also did the classic carbo load dinner here - spaghetti bolognese. Perfectly seasoned nothing-fancy-about-it spot on. Have also found both in-house and delivery service to be quite cheerful on all occasions. Still struggling with the BYO local custom in a case like this... what I crave right to the core here is a pitcher of Michelob to make the 1982 flashback complete. read more

Dined here in the back area on a Monday evening with two friends. Had the vegetarian pizza and a pasta dish. We chose the place because it was so close to the station and I had a train to catch soon (barely made it post-dinner though!) The food was good and so was the ambiance. Not good at all! I ordered 2 pies on a Friday evening for pickup and was told they would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived in 15 hoping to get a couple of freshly made pizzas. That didn't happen. They pulled 2 pies from the bottom of a stack that were sitting on top of the oven. When will this practice stop? Don't they realize that the pizza continues to cook on top of the oven? Or don't they care? I got home to 2 pizzas that were stiff as boards. Gross...barely edible. It was like eating stale bread. I will never go back. read more

TL;DR Avoid slices at counter if you don't want food poisoning. Freshly made pies are great. For many years my family and I have had nothing but positive experiences with Arminio's' pizza - it has been consistently fresh, affordable, and tasty, with fast and helpful service. Unfortunately I now feel the need to add a disclaimer to that due to a bad experience. Just last night, when a friend and I were in town, we stopped in to buy a slice from one of the displays in the front of the restaurant; while mine tasted pretty normal, I woke up in the middle of the night with brutal food poisoning. Contacted my friend and they were experiencing similar symptoms. Very disappointing from an otherwise great pizza joint; I wouldn't necessarily advise against patronizing Arminio's, but I would strongly encourage potential diners to avoid the slices from the displays and order a pizza made fresh instead. Lesson learned on my part - that said I doubt I'll be going back. read more

Burnt sandwich. Obvious burnt visually & burnt smell. Couldn't eat it. Paid good money for the sandwich not to mention the place was chaotic & they tried to charge me again after I paid online. i used to like this place. USED to. Until i ordered to have it delivered to my house the last 2 times. the first delivery (just pizza pies and garlic knots) had stale garlic knots, the last delivery was this weekend, when i placed an order the day prior for 3 trays of different things for 15 people for a party i was hosting. the delivery guy was rude and obnoxious, there was no hello, it was from the start yelling at me how i gave the wrong address and wrong phone number (why would i call and place an order the day prior for catering for 15 people and give the incorrect address/contact info is beyond me) and he did not have a receipt. All he said it was $112. no receipt. i was not going to argue with the man, but i will not be ordering from them anymore. time to explore the other places in town. read more

Arminio's is literally right across the street from me so I've gotten take out here many times. My favorite dish is the Penne Pomodoro. It comes with a plum tomato sauce, basil, prosciutto, and onion. I ask them to sub the plum tomato sauce with a vodka sauce and it is oh so tasty. Throw a little parmasan cheese on there and you're solid. They also have lots of salads, chicken dishes, many pasta dishes with many different sauce choices and pizza too. They offer lunch portions on many of the menu items and the dinner portions are generous. For dessert, try their chocolate mousse cake. The only thing I do not recommend is their Cesar Salad. It does not come with the traditional dressing. Other than that, I will continue to frequent. read more

The location is very convenient and usually you can get food for carry out pretty fast. But like the other reviews state the food is mediocre at best. The pizza tends to be light on sauce and cheese, and is not always fresh. Order anything that requires fresh preparation and it takes a lot longer. Suspect there are better pizza places nearby but just haven't found them yet.... read more

We have ordered from here a few times, the delivery service is always fast and they are always very pleasant. The pizza is delicious, and we enjoy having the buffalo wings as a side. We live just over the Chatham border in florham park and they are still happy to take the drive. Definitely recommend giving them a try! read more

Okay, it's the local pizzeria in town....convenient for sure. Looks like it appeals to kids' taste of food not for adults looking for tantalizing pizza. Even though I live around the corner to the place, it wouldn't be my go-to pizza place only because I'm such a foodie. This is the go-to pizzeria for the middle and high school kids of Chatham. The food is pretty good (go for pasta night on Mondays), but the pizza isn't the very best I've ever had. It is a comforting taste of home, and I won't ever degrade it. They do have a great salad menu and their entrees aren't bad either, but for a $10 pie, it's a great deal. I use to live in chatham and I have been going here my whole life. I still live near by so I have tried a lot of the pizzeria's around. I still believe that their plain cheese pizza is the best. I have tasted pizzas from madison, summit, morristown, florham park, etc...obviously this is my personal opinion, but I highly recommend them. I have not had much of their other food besides the pizza but from what I have had, chicken parm spaghetti, it i very good. What I like best about their plain pizza is the crunchy thin crust and the pasta sauce they use. It is sweet and flavorful, almost like margarita sauce but not quite. Give them a try! read more

Arminio's has been my pizza place for a decade now. They have the best pizza in Chatham, and overall my favorite in the general area. Pepperoni and fresh garlic is the way to go. Sandwiches and entrees are good too, though I am primarily a pizza person. The eggplant/chicken parm sandwiches are worth it though: massive, hot, greasy, melted, and delicious. Four of us had dinner on a Friday night. Service was what you would hope, very attentive, pleasant. Homemade marinari for the calamari was excellent. All four of us wiped our dinner plates clean with the bread. Side of whole wheat pasta with marinari was cooked well. I don't usually eat the full side, but I did this time. This is one of those casual Italian bring your owns that you go to with friends to relax, unwind and not take life too seriously. Enjoy good food, bring a bottle and leave any pretentiousness at home. This is a great value. read more
