Tried this mom and pop pizza place for the first time and had an uneven experience. Purposely ordered doing the slow time to get food quickly. They aced that one, it was ready for pick up immediately. The inside was a clean handsome little place. Ordered a medium all meat pizza that was good and fresh, bbq wings that were ok, and breadsticks that were burnt and awful. We decided to try Arno pizza while we were in the area. I have had this on my to try list for over a year now and finally had the opportunity to stop by and give them a shot. I called in my order at 11:30 and they told me 15 minutes. I arrived right at the 15 minute mark and the pizza was walked out to me by the lady I assume I spoke to on the phone. She did not tell me the price of the pizza on the phone when I ordered so I was a little taken back when she said "$16.95" for a large cheese pizza. My daughters like cheese so that what I told them we would order. I gave her the money and we walked out to go eat in the truck. The atmosphere of the place was nice and small. It was quiet as I was the only patron in the bussiness this day. They had two tvs and one was on the Price is Right the other was local news. It looked very nice and cozy on the inside. The large cheese pizza was very hot and cheesy. The sauce was very tasty and the crust was thin. I was all about this pizza and I think it is really good. My daughters liked it as well and they gave it a 5. Food- 5/5 Atmosphere- 3/5 Service- 3/5 Price 3/5 My overall review is a little pricey but excellent pizza. So I finally got to experience this place after hearing great things for a few years. Actually on a lunch break about 3-4 years ago I tried to to come here and my gps kept taking me to a place called jokers cafe and car garage place. So while in the Buechel area looking at Christmas lights tonight with the family we decided to try again. Once again the gps on my iPhone took me to the same wrong spot. This time I was able to spot the place as it was a bit down the street and across the street in a shopping strip called Buechel Square. It was during covid restrictions so we did a takeout order and ate in the parking lot. Service was very quick and fast. We got a large cheese pizza for me and my daughters to share. My wife got a Greek salad. She said the Greek salad was very good but it was very heavy on the peppers. So she picked some of them out. The pizza had a great flavor. I'd say it's kinda a New York style pizza but the slices aren't New York style sized. But still had a very nice cheesy taste with very good flavorful sauce. Glad we finally found this place. Im a big pizza guy and I'd say this pizza probably is top 5 in the city when it comes to taste. So we will be making return trips for sure. For a large pizza and the salad it was right over 20 bucks. So pricing is affordable too. I would try and put Buechel square or one of the names of the other businesses in the same strip that's in my pictures if using a gps. The best thing to do when visiting Arno Pizza is to go in with no expectations. It's a small restaurant with not very many tables. We started with drinks and the breadsticks as an appetizer. There are no fountain drinks here - it's all plastic 20 oz bottles or glass bottles. Even water comes in a bottle. They do provide chilled glasses and ice. The breadsticks had a good flavor to them and I liked the marinara sauce as well. I ordered the white pizza. It was a bit out of the box for me but I really enjoyed it. The crust is thin but tasty. And you can never have too much cheese! I'm not sure if there normally isn't table service but the person who took our order disappeared for a bit so it took a while to get boxes and checks. She was quick to get us taken care of though when she came around. The pick up counter was steady the entire time we were there. I would absolutely get pizza from here again. read more

I heard some good things about this place so I tried it and called in a carryout order. I gave my name clearly to the guy behind the counter when I got there. He just pulled an order sitting on the counter in a heat delivery bag out and gave it to me. I foolishly didn't check it assuming this place was halfway competent. When I got home, I found it was incorrect. The kids started eating the cheese pizza (that I didn't order) so I didn't go back to get a refund. This is a small pizzeria on Bardstown Road. There is are a few tabled inside to eat and it looked like some outdoor seating as well. There was music playing in the dining area with a tv also in the bar area. Our group started with breadsticks and marinara sauce. They were well cooked and I would get them again. It is important to note that the restaurant only had 20 oz bottle drinks. We were also given cups with ice. They had many speciality pizzas, as well as build your own options. I got buffalo chicken pizza. I thought it was well cooked and would get it again. The buffalo flavor was good. One of my favorite parts of the pizza was the crust. It was thin crust, but was not to crispy (which I liked). Our waitress was nice and quick to greet us, get our orders, and bring everything out. However, once our food came out it took a while to get our boxes and checks. I would recommend giving this restaurant a try. read more

This place is in a strip mall so I didn't have high hopes. I walked in and the guy behind the counter shrugged when I asked if the pizza was any good! Then I asked -?are you the owner? And he grinned and said yes! I knew I was probably in for a good pizza. I was right. We got the deluxe and it did not disappoint! This small, Mom-and-pop business serves subs, sandwiches, salads, sides and outstanding pizzas (and specialty pizzas). The flavor of the pizzas is wonderful. Their location changed as of June 2016. Currently, they are located in the business district of West Buechel (off Bardstown Rd. Right after the intersection of Six Mile Lane) In June 2016, they moved across the street (diagonally) from the old location. The new location is a bit larger and the interior looks much nicer than the interior of the old location. The front of the store is marked by a large PIZZERIA sign on the window. Other times that I have eaten from this business, it's always been take-out. This time, we decided to eat in the restaurant because I was waiting for a different business to fix my car's tire. My experience dining in the restaurant was just as good (if not better) as the experience of take-out. The take-out pizza has ALWAYS been tasty. Now, I realize I was about to experience the great take-out pizza accompanied by what I assumed would be excellent service. I was not disappointed. We ordered a large, Ultimate pizza. It comes with 4 different meats and about 5 different vegetables. Before getting the pizza, we were brought water in a frosted glass. The frosted glass was a really nice touch and made me like the place even more. Next came the authentic Greek salad. It contained no lettuce at all (as if customary for real Greek salads), but did have green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, Kalamata olives, red onions, pepperoncini and crumbled feta cheese all tossed in a savory greek dressing. The "Ultimate" pizza had about 8 toppings, including 4 types of meats (pepperoni, sausage, ham and bacon) and 4 vegetables (green peppers, onions, mushrooms and black olives). While we did not make any substitutions, that option is available. I think it's wonderful the way their pizza is not greasy even though it has 4 types of meats on it. The pizza is luscious and juicy, but not greasy. I just cannot say enough good things about this pizza establishment. Ever since I 'discovered' Arno's practically in my front yard several years ago it has become a 'regular' (by 'regular' I mean I go there practically EVERY day! Sometimes just to chat or have a drink but more often than not I order something to eat) I take my friends there and it has become a 'regular' for some of them as well. We got the traditional pepperoni pizza, but the taste was far from that of a run of the mill pizza place! The crust was crispy but not burnt, the sauce was really great (most important in my opinion) and the toppings tasted good as well. The owner was very friendly and service was fast when we first got there; we got our pizza in 5-10 minutes! From a family of pizza snobs, pretty good pizza, nothing majorly special about it but still decent. We had the ultimate pizza, a cheesy bread, wings and salad to try it all. Around 40 bucks for everything which is definitely a steal. I would recommend it for sure if you are craving pizza in that area. Today I called up Arno for the first time to ask if they delivered. The clerk said no before abruptly hanging up on me. I called again with the pretense that the call was inadvertently disconnected; when I asked the clerk if the call had indeed been disconnected, he hung up on me again. My final call was executed with the hopes that I may be able to speak to a manager. A different clerk answered this time-- clearly, the staff was beginning to have a great deal of fun at my expense (the audacity!)--with a much different reply: "Ain't no managers here. Just us workers". Following this final rude exchange, I was hung up on once again. My experience this evening was preposterous. I was especially appalled about the way each customer service representative treated me like a nuisance--almost as if I was inconveniencing them on which may have very well been a slow night a work. The aforementioned possibility of the slow night may have resulted in boredom amongst the staff. That is the only way I can think to describe the possible cause of this ornery, sophomoric behavior. ps. They even called me back at some later point, just to perpetuate the situation before hanging on me for the fourth time. With only a couple of reviews I was unsure what to expect, especially with no pics of the pizza! Wow! I'm so glad I gave this place a try. I picked my pizza up (they don't deliver). The price was reasonable for a specialty large 16" pizza. I got the white with no tomatoes and add pepperoni. It was so good and I can't wait to try another pizza there. This is definitely different from Louisville style pizza. You can tell the crust is homemade and it's not too thick and not too thin. I loved it! Just try it!! read more

It was as if each ingredient was fresh picked from a garden. My buddy ordered the Chicken Wings. I grabbed one and again was surprised. I didn't expect much from the appearance of this place. It wasn't until I actually tried the pizza that I could understand the true meaning behind their help wanted sign. I came in today looking for something nostalgic that could bring me back to my younger and innocent youthful days. looking for the ideal pizza, a hybrid of sorts, a square McFarren school lunch slice/bullit county detention center type of combo, and boy oh boy let me tell you!...it was exactly what I dreamt up and more!!! Very reasonable at double priced and we loved the fact that we were able to save the family style portion of grease for future use just like grandma used to do! It wasn't until finished eating did we realize that the job application the owner offered me, (to which I obviously obliged) wasn't for me after all. This hard working pizza savant actually took the time to fill it all out with his information and desired starting pay, references and everything! Lunch was very good, italian sandwich with homemade bread could not have been better. Took my wife for dinner. She really liked the grilled chicken salad with outstanding dressing. I had a 12" 4 topping pizza that included fresh garlic. My wife normally doesn't eat pizza but ate 2 pieces. I knew it was good but that convinced me.2 ice cold imported beers and the total of $25 was a good price. The place is spotless and the owners are enjoyable to talk with. The place is next to Etscorns. I would say there is a 95% chance you will like it. This is about as good of a review as i can give to anyplace. Just sorry it took so long for me to try. read more

Great little place although they have now moved almost directly across Bardstown road from the listed location. A small family owned and operated Pizza/Italian outlet that has great food at a great price. My step-daughter and her coworkers have been lunching with Arno for a while. Tonight the whole family went to give it a try. My wife, step-daughter, son-in-law and grand daughter spit a large Pizza. I opted for a small antipasto salad and an Italian sub. My wife later decided she wanted more than the Pizza so we also got 1/2 dozen mild chicken wings. The antipasto was great. The meats, cheese and veggies were are fresh and flavorful. The homemade Italian dressing was incredible. My sub was the same, fresh and flavorful on a fresh hoagie bun. My wife let me try one of her wings and its was among the best I have tasted. We will be returning and are seriously considering forgoing delivery pizza in favor or Arno's carryout. . read more

Good (not great) pizza that doesn't leave a lasting impression. My family and I were in the mood for some good pizza, and not wanting "fast food" pizza (Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Dominos...) I just had to check out Arno Pizza because of all the great reviews stating friendly service and great pizza. So, we stopped in on an early Saturday evening to not be greeted by anyone. It was really awkward - based on the blank stares from one gentleman seated at the bar and one lady standing behind the bar I thought they might be closed. No one greeted us. No one asked if we were dining in. No greeting at all. Did I mention it was awkward. We walked across the length of the restaurant to the bar when finally she asked "do you want a table". Now, that's a greeting! The restaurant was very clean although some of the chairs had a worn, used look to them. I didn't feel that they were dirty though. In fact the best part of Aron's is how clean the dining area was. The menu has some nice choices, but when trying out a new pizza place I always go for a classic pepperoni. The pizza was good. Nothing great and really not memorable. The toppings were fresh and adequate. The tomato based pizza sauce was bland and lacking, not a rich tomato taste. Compared to papa johns or Pizza Hut, it was great. But compared to better pizza choices in Louisville, it doesn't really leave an impression. Now, if I lived close by, this might become my carry-out pizza choice. A better option to Papa Johns. But, the dining experience is just awkward and not welcoming, so carry out would be a better choice. Every pizza place has its own "flavor" and that becomes its lasting impression. This pizza doesn't really have a personality. It is good. But it is what it is and nothing special. If all you typically eat is fast food pizza, you'll love Arno pizza. If you really love pizza, you'll be ok with this Arno pizza, but it isn't worth a long drive across town to check it out. There's just more enjoyable choices. read more
