The food tasted great but wasn't spicy enough. When I asked for Indian Spicy, I was expecting my mouth to be on fire after finishing my meal and it wasn't even close. The decor is very nice, environment so friendly and overall a good time.

I ate here a while ago with a friend. The food was pretty good. We got the butter chicken, naan, and Hakka fried rice with chicken. We ordered at the medium spice I think? It wasn't spicy to me. But the flavors were good! Service felt a bit slow and it wasn't busy when we went on a weekday night. Overall food was pretty good. Nice interior. Music was a bit loud for a place where it's designed to be a bit like a lounge.

Came here and we were the only table for a little bit then about 3 more groups came after us. I feel like the service was not as good as it could have been the food was alright too nothing out of ordinary. If I ever want some Indian infused food I could somewhere else that's better

This is such a cool spot to grab food. It's close to so many places on the northeast side of Indy, it made it easy to stop in for a lunch with my friend. We did the winter menu and split everything. 100% worth it! If you aren't into Indiana food or are just starting to try it - go here! There's a little fusion in some dishes and I couldn't stop eating everything we got

Highly recommend. Very flavorful and beautifully presented food. Friendly, attentive staff. Very clean inside, nice atmosphere. If this was downtown Indy it would be much more expensive; we are lucky it is local and fairly priced!

This place is the best Indian food you can find in Indy! The staff is really friendly and welcoming. Their place is sort of small, dark, and quiet. It's the perfect spot for a date night! The servers do a round robin style service so they are so attentive and are checking on you often. We ordered the butter chicken and peanut masala. The buttered chicken was the best thing I've had. When you put it over a bed of rice it was to die for. Really well developed flavors. We had cocktails from their full bar and enjoyed the evening! Will definitely be returning!

We found this spot on the Devour Indy list and I'm glad we chose to try it! With the 3-course menu, we were able to split 6 different dishes and all were delicious. We especially loved the Chinese Bhel, which we'd never had before. It was crispy and very flavorful - a great appetizer. The desserts (Kulfi and Halwa) were interesting and fun to try as well. The portions here were just right and the service was nice, attentive and quick.

Would have never noticed this place without Yelp but glad I gave it a try! They are tucked on the back side of the Disc Replay near the Best Buy and Castleton mall. My friend and I were greeted as soon as we walked in and taken to one of their leather booths. The host was also working as a server and quickly brought us some waters. We tried crispy corn, which was very interesting--I think frying the corn brought out a bit of the sweetness, and the texture made it easy to get stuck on your teeth. The garlic naan was wonderful, and my 1947 Tikka was tender and juicy. There are no bones, so you can eat it easily with a fork and knife. Would definitely come back for lunch!

Wow, just wow. The ambiance is amazing and the service is impeccable. The menu is very diverse and they offer a full and extremely well completed bar. They offer all the normal drinks and then a great offering of specialized Indian drinks to complement. Our party of four had two appetizers and they were extremely tasty. The cauliflower dish is almost similar to a Kung Pao chicken but ten times better. Our entrees were very well prepared and so flavorful. We had some with hair that was prepared perfectly a lamb dish and a vegetarian entree. The same care is in the back of the house to as the restrooms are clean and well equipped. Highly recommend and will be back often.

We will be back for sure! The butter chicken was flavorful, the paneer was smooth. We also enjoyed the saffron rice and the garlic naan. Service never let our water go low, the ambience was contemporary and clean. I also liked the music. The samosas come 2 to an order and was a decadent potato start.

Lamb curry is really good, a lot of meat... Butter chicken is good, very rich. Chili Naan is good.

Came here with my family for dinner and we were not disappointed. Service was good and food was great. The ambiance inside is quite nice and modern and I like the fact that the lighting is dim and not too harsh. We ordered the butter chicken, saag paneer, basmati rice, garlic/chili naan, and the manchurian. Everything was good but the highlight of the night was definitely the manchurian. Not too mushy with the right amount of kick in spice! Will definitely be back to try more of the indian fusion items off of the menu!

Pretty pricey, the ala carte pricing raises the bill to where you'd expect better food. In fact, I've had better flavors at other local Indian restaurants for 1/3 the price. My friend doesn't tolerate super spicy food so we asked for mild but we both felt everything was very spicy. That being said, it was a fun experience as they had an event in the lounge with beautiful gowns and music. Everyone was friendly and service was attentive. The crispy corn was interesting but would have been better without the raw red onions (too strong).

Four of us tried Punjabi Tadka after looking at the review. We ordered Chicken Soup, Soya Chaap, Tandoori Shrimp as Appetizers. Good thing they gave us the soup completely bland without any salt, pepper and I liked the idea as the guests can season it as per their need. 07 out of 10 Soya chaap was hard, lacked flavour and the chutneys served didn't help enhance it either. 04 out of 10 Tandoori Shrimp was basically shrimp covered in tandoor masala and cooked on a pan. The onions and green peppers served were soggy with the masala. Highly disappointing but we expected better from the Main course. 03 out of 10 Main course we ordered garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and chicken noodles to begin with. Chicken noodle was mostly spaghetti in marinara sauce with chunks of chicken. We couldn't eat after 1 - 2 spoons. We had to return it. 01 out of 10 Naan was fluffy and the best of the dishes we tried at Punjabi tadka, 09 out of 10. Chicken tikka masala was just a very sweet tomato gravy that made us somehow finish the naan 03 out of 10. Apart from the food though the staff was polite but he lacked common etiquettes. After appetizers and before the main course, he would bring the larger plates to the table without even cleaning the table. We had to ask him to clean the table while we held the plates. We had to find the person to fill in the water bottle and the bottles were not very user friendly. The bill was around 90 USD without the noodle which is fair for a team of 4 but the quality of dishes were not up to the mark. Again I hope it was due to Sunday evening staff crunch.

Idk if the ambiance has ever been great here as its inside is not pretty & the bathroom is very gross & never clean. The 2 orders of Chicken Makhani I received today tasted so strongly of WAY too much ghee to where I couldn't even taste anything else. It was lacking proper flavor & the chicken was very, very dry and tasted old. Super disappointing. I send people to this place allllll the time, but not anymore. The raita was the absolute worst part of my meal. I paid $5 extra for 2 things of raita & had to throw both away because they were SO bad! I don't know why, but it was so excessively full of black pepper that I honestly almost puked. Not only that, it tasted very, VERY strongly of green pepper. Raita is NEVER supposed to have green pepper & I honestly couldn't tell if that was the issue or if it was actually expired/rotten. I was super excited for this food & it was so incredibly disappointing especially because it wasn't cheap...huge decline in food quality & definitely not worth the price.

Let me just say, from the very start this place blew me away. From the first phone call, the customer service was outstanding. The gentleman I spoke with was so kind and patient with me, especially since I didn't really know what I wanted. He made recommendations, and I felt totally confident in my order. When I went to pick it up, the interaction was fantastic again. Now, I'll be honest--the exterior might not grab your attention right away. But do not let that stop you, because the food here is absolutely amazing. The rice? Fluffy, soft, almost silky. Cooked perfectly. The chicken tikka masala? Wow. I ordered it medium heat (about a 3 out of 5), and it was spot on. Nothing overwhelming at first, just the perfect little kick at the end. The flavor was rich, balanced, and so satisfying. Pair that with the garlic naan, and it's like they were made for each other. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes. I noticed they also offer a lunch buffet, which looks like it could be awesome--such a great way to sample everything and really discover what you love. 10/10 recommend. If you've never tried Indian food (like me), this is the perfect place to start.

Yes there is water from a water cooler, BUT with teeny tiny cups that are maybe 3 inches tall. You can get some other drinks such as specialty drinks or canned/bottled things from the fridge. On the other hand, despite being a carnivore, I thoroughly enjoyed the food here. For starters I had the hot and sour soup... yeah I know, not exactly Indian, but Indo-chino. It was different than expected, but very good. Actually a bit spicy and seemed to have ginger pieces in it along with a lot of unindentifible things and absolutely delicious. I tried the Bhaji Pav, which is ... well I really have no idea, but it comes with a large dish of goodness, seems to maybe have lentils or chickpeas in it. It's pureed and has a wonderful spice combination, maybe a hint of curry, but not spicy at all. Comes with finely chopped onions, a lime wedge and 2 soft buttered buns. I would definitely order this again. The most impressive looking dish was the Thali, basically a sampler dish, which has naan, a savory yoghurt based drink, several cups of various dishes and even a little dessert. I might get that next time to explore more of the options here. And as I already mentioned, the staff is very sweet and patiently explained the different dishes to my group. With 8 of us not having any clue, I have to say, this lady had the patience of a a saint.

Gift Certificates Refused Despite Clear Written Terms…read more I purchased gift certificates from Honest Indian Restaurant that were valid through December 26. The written terms specifically listed December 24 and December 25, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as holiday exclusions. December 23 was not listed as one of the excluded holidays, and the terms did not state that the entire surrounding week would be excluded. On December 23, my family and I attempted to use the certificates and were informed they would not be accepted because the restaurant considered the entire week to be a holiday period. The matter was escalated to the manager, who upheld the decision not to accept the certificates. After driving over an hour with my entire family, we were unable to use gift certificates that had already been purchased under the written terms provided at the time of sale. As a result, I lost the value of the certificates despite attempting to use them on a date that was not listed as an excluded holiday. Based on this experience, I will not return and cannot recommend this business.

It's clean, has a great lounge vibe, a pool table, and plenty of seating, making it a nice place to hang out with friends. My biggest complaint is the wait time. Both takeout orders took around 40 minutes for just two items, while dine-in customers who ordered after me were served first. I also found it odd that some menu items only include fries if you dine in. If a meal is advertised at a certain price with fries included, I think takeout customers should receive the same meal they're paying for. Overall, I'd recommend this spot if you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere and aren't in a hurry. If you're stopping in just to grab food to go, be prepared for a wait.
