Went for lunch -- swanky ambience, full stocked bar. Many of the interesting vegan fusion things I was drawn to the restaurant for were not available, but our server talked at length to the chefs and came up with some good choices. Ended up getting the Phool Makhana Bhel (roasted lotus seeds) as a crunchy, mildly spicy appetizer, which was delicious, and a generous portion. (Deeply flavorful spices, wonderful crunch.) Went with the dal (yellow lentil soup) and ghee-free crispy methi roti (fenugreek leaf spiced flatbread) for my main -- both were deeply satisfying and powerfully flavorful, as well as very filling. My friend's goat biryani was apparently terrific (according to her); we ate a pile of food, but still ended up taking containers home. For the record: medium spice was juuuuuuuust right -- didn't make the eyes water, but had a mild bit of a bite. Super interesting menu, even for vegans! Golgappe shots: 9.5/10 -- really enjoyed this flight of different tastes. I would recommend this for 2 people to share (order more if you're a larger group that wants to try each flavor) bc they served 2 shots of each. interestingly~~ for $10 you can add vodka to your flight. If you haven't been to this place in a while, it's time to come back. They renovated and it looks great! About the food - I say this as someone who loves spicy food but I caution you with this place! I ordered the medium chili paneer last time I was here and the spice level was insane. I did veg soup while I was here this time and it again was a flamethrower. It was delicious but it was really, really tough to eat because it was just so insanely spicy. So, even for spicy lovers, I recommend ordering most things "mild." Definitely the chili paneer and the soup I recommend going mild. The medium butter chicken wasn't that bad though and it was delicious. This place is the best Indian food you can find in Indy! The staff is really friendly and welcoming. Their place is sort of small, dark, and quiet. It's the perfect spot for a date night! We found this spot on the Devour Indy list and I'm glad we chose to try it! With the 3-course menu, we were able to split 6 different dishes and all were delicious. Would have never noticed this place without Yelp but glad I gave it a try! They are tucked on the back side of the Disc Replay near the Best Buy and Castleton mall. My friend and I were greeted as soon as we walked in and taken to one of their leather booths. The host was also working as a server and quickly brought us some waters. We tried crispy corn, which was very interesting--I think frying the corn brought out a bit of the sweetness, and the texture made it easy to get stuck on your teeth. Wow, just wow. The ambiance is amazing and the service is impeccable. The menu is very diverse and they offer a full and extremely well completed bar. They offer all the normal drinks and then a great offering of specialized Indian drinks to complement. Our party of four had two appetizers and they were extremely tasty. The cauliflower dish is almost similar to a Kung Pao chicken but ten times better. Our entrees were very well prepared and so flavorful. We had some with hair that was prepared perfectly a lamb dish and a vegetarian entree. The same care is in the back of the house to as the restrooms are clean and well equipped. Came here with my family for dinner and we were not disappointed. Service was good and food was great. The ambiance inside is quite nice and modern and I like the fact that the lighting is dim and not too harsh. We ordered the butter chicken, saag paneer, basmati rice, garlic/chili naan, and the manchurian. Everything was good but the highlight of the night was definitely the manchurian. Pretty pricey, the ala carte pricing raises the bill to where you'd expect better food. In fact, I've had better flavors at other local Indian restaurants for 1/3 the price. My friend doesn't tolerate super spicy food so we asked for mild but we both felt everything was very spicy. That being said, it was a fun experience as they had an event in the lounge with beautiful gowns and music. Everyone was friendly and service was attentive. Super good samosas. Perfectly flaky and tasty. The tandoori chicken was pretty ok. I arrived around 9:30 pm and they let me know the kitchen was closing soon. Id like to try the chicken again earlier in the day. The place was lowkey fancy and really big. There seemed to be two sides of the restaurant one with tvs, where people were watching cricket. And the other with leather booths and no tvs. My server was also the host and checked on me often. When I took my food to go they gave me 2 cylinder containers. More so for soup or a sauce. The menu is pretty basic and I really wish they had more descriptions because I wasn't sure what to order and there was a language barrier. We had a hard time understanding our server. The food is priced high. Everything is a la cart. They charge 6 dollars for a side of plain rice. I can not justify the prices for the food. Everything was disappointing. The naan wasn't good the chicken was terrible. I ended up having to send it back and went back and forth with them removing it from my bill. I got a virgin drink and it was 8.25. My friend and I came here and didn't realize it's under renovation both the restaurant and their menu. It's cute and modern inside and I'm sure once the remaining renovations are done the place will look amazing. We were handed newer menus to those we saw online but most of the food was unavailable which was unfortunate because it sounded really good. We ordered the momos, samosa, and butter chicken with garlic naan. The momos were good but too gingery. The samosas were delicious but the green chutney wasn't great. The butter chicken was more chicken tikka but it was delicious and the garlic naan was amazing. Portion sizes were quite large as well which was great because I enjoyed that chicken for the next few days. Overall a great experience. If I'm ever in Indy again I'd love to try their other food. read more

We love getting their Indo Chinese dishes like the Hakka fried rice, chili chicken, schezuan noodles, and the Chinese bhel. The only critique is the service is a little slow during peak hours and they bring certain dishes out before others so things can get cold. We had an amazing time last night there for dinner. We brought two budding chefs, and my husband, who chose to celebrate his 70th birthday there. The appetizers were out of this world. The staff was very attentive. My meal was supposed to be mild. Depending upon where I ate out of the bowl, it was either the hottest meal I have ever had in my life, or mild. The staff cheerfully brought me a delicious yogurt sauce to cool it down. Hopefully next time, the spice is not so inconsistent. We had a lovely time... The setting was nice but some things about the place were strange. There's no drinks menu, they didnt have many paneer dishes when we went, and they also didn't have some of the desserts at that time. I tried the chicken biryani and the aloo achari. I didn't like the aloo much but the biryani was good. I also enjoyed the cheesecake. The pani puri shots are cute and there are fusion dishes so I would visit once for that. I had heard great things about this place on Yelp so decided to try it for Devour Winterfest. You can't miss this place when driving on 82nd street. It's the big gray and orange building next to Best Buy. There is parking all the way around the entire building. We didn't wind up ordering off the Devour menu and did a sampling of many things. The potato samosas were good. The mint sauce was great. The butter chicken and mushroom curry were fantastic. The garlic naan was awesome. I've never had roti so I didn't have anything to compare it to. It was a little dry for my liking but maybe it's supposed to be that way. The New Delhi butter chicken and mushroom curry did not come with a side so if you wanted rice or bread you had to order it a'la cart. The portions of those two dishes were plentiful for $15 & $16. We ate our fill and had enough for each of us to take portions of both home but did have to order a second garlic naan. The noodles were really good too. I did not care for either of the desserts we had. Not my taste profile. I would definitely go back but when I got home I started researching prices and there are several other similar restaurants in Fishers and Broadripple where the entrees come with rice and are a few dollars cheaper. I'm new to eating Indian food so I don't know if any other places are good or not. My friend said the mushroom curry was top notch. This place was definitely tasty and worth a try. read more

I would have given 3.5 stars if I could. It had a great clean atmosphere, which was nice. However, their menu doesn't have very good descriptions. This is acceptable when there is a very thorough server to explain things. There was a heavy language barrier, unfortunately. When I realized that everything was a la carte, I left after having an appetizer of samosas. The samosas themselves were decent, not great. Overall, I can't justify paying $12-15 for an entree, then $6 for plain rice to go with it, and even more for naan bread. I went across the street to Amber Indian and got all three for $16. I hope they adjust their price points, as the place did have a cool atmosphere. read more

We had dinner after church on Sunday. Hubby wanted Indian food but a fusion style so I jumped on Yelp and this beautiful place/Resturant popped up immediately! The place is gorgeous! The menu has a good variety items you'll recognize and several you won't. There was a group of us so I was able to try several appetizers. The crispy corn was tasty, the Angare mushrooms were excellent and you have to try the Golgappe shots just because. There is a choice of Garlic, Cheese or Chili Naan. I didn't try the chili but the garlic and cheese were both very good. 4 good sized pieces. My entree was the Paneer Labadar. I really enjoyed this. I ordered medium heat and it was just right. I was kind of surprised that rice was an add on but there are 3 choices, Jetta, Saffron and Lemon. The saffron had raisins, cashew chunks and overall great flavor.
