Ordered for delivery and was so impressed! Everything was piping hot when it arrived and packaged well. They even sent a little paper plate with it so I could dish out my food, which was so thoughtful. The chili naan was so good and had the perfect amount of spice to it. The chana masala was good too! Delhi Palace is by far my favorite restaurant in all of Indiana. Their food is absolutely packed with flavor, and every dish I've tried has been consistently delicious. This place is tucked away beside very popular chain restaurants, and it's definitely a gem. The waiter was extremely friendly. Although it was pretty empty the vibe felt very relaxed. We ordered the garlic naan, chicken curry (medium), and chicken makahani (butter chicken, also medium) and it was honestly 10/10. No weird chicken pieces, nice temp, you can tell it is extremely fresh. I believe we found our new go to for Indian!! This place has a buffet for lunch also, I'm not sure what that all entails but based on our dinner experience I'd check it out. read more

On this day I went to Lockefield Commons to try the sushi bento place. However. As soon as I got out of my car I saw a sign saying lunch buffet available at Delhi Palace... and next thing I know, I was there holding a plate at the buffet line...!! And the food was great... they had some things that I never had seen at a buffet before, like mushroom tikka masala. I loved the selection and I cannot forget how good chicken tikka masala was. Today, I needed to do a lunch date with just myself. I stopped by Delhi Palace for their lunch buffet. My first time visiting was the peace that I needed for the day. During that 45m lunch, I didn't think about test results, work, emails, or anything else . The food, service, and experience were fantastic. Everyone who worked there was super helpful! My only problem was that I wished the posted their buffet prices because I didn't know what the price was until I was paying. I'm going to preface this by saying that when I ordered my food, I didn't look at the time and realize I was being a giant a**hole ordering a bunch of food right before they close through a delivery service. They are absolutely amazing for still delivering phenomenal food despite this! We got samosas, the house special naan, keema naan, and garlic naan with lamb Rogan Josh, and gulab Jamun. We requested utensils, but they were not provided. I was totally cool with it given the obscene amount of delicious naan that was delivered though. The house special naan was ridiculously good, with a generous amount of garlic and cheese. The samosas were perfectly crisp and generously sized- absolutely delicious! The Rogan Josh was spicy without being overpowering, and the Gulab Jamun was incredible. Overall a wonderful experience, and I am looking forward to dining in person there in the near future! read more

I look forward to trying out their popular buffet after COVID times. I was craving some comfort food and end up ordering the plain and simple (yet so delicious and flavor packed) chicken tikka masala with a mango lassi for dessert. One of my favorite parts of the meal was the pickled onion chutney topping. This was some of the best chicken tikka I've had in Indy! Despite the restrictions, my ability to try new restaurants remains possible. So, I decided to stray from my usual eateries in the International Marketplace; I awarded Delhi Palace with my business. It was a decision I certainly don't regret. Dehli Palace serves traditional, somewhat Americanized, Indian cuisine. The menu is similar to other popular Indian spots in the city (e.g. Shalimar and India Palace), although I found its quality to be higher. If you have an Indian favorite, Delhi Palace likely serves it; however, more obscure dishes are less likely to be found. I placed an order through Yelp, and it was delivered by Grubhub. My food was still very hot and fresh when it arrived. Prior to placing it, I called the restaurant to get clarification on some menu items. The staff member with whom I spoke was very helpful, and he was thankful for the business in these difficult times. I ordered tandoori chicken with a side of roti. The portion of chicken was gigantic, juicy, and couldn't have been more flavorful. I ordered the dish extra-spicy, and evidently, the chef listened. It was nose-running, sweat-dripping spicy. The large side of rice was perfect, and since they included a side of tikka masala sauce, it was like having a second meal. The roti, baked in the tandoor, was phenomenal. My coworkers and I ordered "family style" so we could share everything. We called the day before we wanted to pick it up, told them our order and what time we were going to pick it up. They were very friendly. We wanted to pick it up the next day around 11am, and even though they don't officially open until 10am right now, the owner said he gets there early every day to open and that our food could still be ready around that time. Payment can be made over the phone or when you pick up your food. Food was ready around 11:15am, it was hot and fresh as it just got done cooking, even still warm by the time we ate it for lunch (around 12p). I have yet to dine inside of Delhi Palace, but I did order delivery from them tonight through Doordash. Great experience with both the food and delivery. Being a long-time patron of both Shalimar and India Palace, I knew the menu at Delhi was similar and really wanted my favorites. I also saw some things on the Delhi Palace menu I don't remember being available at the other two restaurants so there are some more items for me to try in the future such as the chats. Those would be great for lunch sometime! Tonight, a Tuesday evening, I placed an order for two orders of vegetable samosa, an order of vegetable pakora, the Punjabi Bhaji, an extra order of Basmati rice, two orders of naan, an order of the pappad, and some mango pudding. (Yes, it is all for me! LOL) Just when my stomach was grumbling, my food arrived, and earlier than expected. I dug in right away. Everything was piping hot and delicious. The hot, crispy outside of the samosa and pakora with a hint of saltiness was divine. The bread was soft with crisp spots and perfect. I loved the pappad and my entree, too. I was/am too stuffed for my pudding so I am saving that for later, but I had one little taste of it and it was so good. I requested my entree "hot" and boy was it! Unlike Shalimar, if you ask for "hot" here you get it. That is one thing that I am always unsure of when asking. I think sometimes it is toned down for people like myself. When my dad and I would get "medium" at Shalimar, it was sometimes not spicy enough, especially for me, but their "hot" is more toned down than Dehli Palace, too. My food tonight was GREAT, but my aging stomach can't handle knock-your-socks-off hot like it used to so I may reword my spice level next time so it isn't QUITE so hot. Delicious though! This was my first birthday without my dad, but this meal made me feel more like he was here enjoying it with me. I feasted like a queen. I have enough left over for at least a few more meals so I will be in hog heaven all this week. My dad and I used to pass Delhi Palace quite often and had been talking about visiting sometime.
