I cannot believe this is in Manassas!! I did the deluxe tasting which included 12 wines for $15??? Wait, thats not all cheeses, meats and chocolates were paired and I received a souvenir glass. I know there are plenty of wineries in the area, so there are many choices, it's worth coming here. This is actually not at a vineyard but a stand alone tasting room. Staff is hospitable and knowledgeable. (Hayley was awesome!) The environment was very comforting and upscale. The wines are produced at Morais Vineyard in Bealton and are of the Portuguese nature. Such a lovely bar with wonderful service and great ambiance! If only it was a wine bar instead of a tasting room for one vineyard. The wine tasting which also includes a tasting plate of cheese, meat and chocolate was presented beautifully, but the wines were just not my favorite. I think VA typically excels in white wine which is not my preference and the reds were just okay. Merlot was very light, Cab Franc is very earthy and then a blend of both. Finally, the Portuguese grape also a red is the most heavy red but still lacking some smoothness. If the tasting room does not stay, please make it a wine bar!!! read more

This place is absolutely amazing! The building itself is absolutely gorgeous and the inside environment was very organized, clean, and welcoming. From the beginning, everyone working there was warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable of their wines. My fiancé and I did wine tasting , which also was accompanied by light snacks to pair with. Our favorite one was the "chocolate shooters." We have been to many wineries, but never experienced a "chocolate shooter." If you're looking for a relaxing place to drink some delicious wine without having to drive 1+ hours to a winery, then this is your spot! Went here yesterday afternoon with some friends. I have been to Morais Vineyard before and love their wines. For this satellite location, loved the ambiance and decor, but was extremely disappointed in the service. There were only 2 employees there to handle a large group of customers (they were great, but way overworked). We had planned to do the deluxe tasting but after waiting for 20 min between sips, shortened to the classic tasting. We were there 2.5 hours to have 10 tastes of wine! We would have loved to order a glass for the one we liked the best, but after the horrible service, we just couldn't wait to get out of there. Looking around, many customers were in the same situation, sitting at a table with empty glasses. The waitress kept apologizing for the slow service and I asked her if they were short staffed, she said no. Loved the place and the wine, but service is everything and it was horrible. I have been twice and had two very different experiences. The first time I went in with some friends right when they opened and I got the impression from our server that we were bothering her. She offered very little information and interaction during our tasting and almost ignored us. Needless to say we didn't stay long. The second time I went in with a different group was completely different. Our server was fun and had tons of information to share. She was very busy with multiple tastings but never once made us feel ignored or slighted. We stayed for another glass after the tasting thanks to her. I do recommend the executive tasting with the pairings if you go. The only other issue is the hours. It can be hard to tell when they are open so check their website before you go. read more

Up and coming place to be! Old Town Manassas is really expressing their European flair. The space is warm and inviting, the large barrel is fun and the chandeliers are amazingly appropriate for a wine bar. The crowd was a great mix of wine snobs, young professionals, and class act women. The wine is superb and the staff is friendly. I need to start this review by saying that I have no relation to the owners, although I kind of wish I did! Ha! We do share the beautiful Portuguese family name of Morais, however. Our families are from completely different parts of Portugal, so more than likely we're not related. I came upon this tasting room while on a work trip this week. Being from San Diego, I wasn't too familiar with this part of Virginia. I googled nearby wineries and out popped, Morais Vineyards and Winery! I was intrigued as we share the family name! That never happens to me! I was bummed to find out that the winery didn't open until the weekend and I would no longer be in town. Upon more investigation, I found Aroma Tasting Room, owned by the Morais family! I made it out to Aroma as soon as I could! My friend and I were warmly greeted by Lisa. We had a deluxe tasting...you can't beat 12 tastings, a pairing plate and a souvenirs wine glass for $17! Here's the kicker though, ALL of the wines we sampled were scrumptious! All well balanced and flavorful! I'm not saying that because each bottle had my last name on it! My friend loved them too! The pairings offered were perfect and I can't say enough about how friendly and attentive Lisa was! We felt so at ease! The establishment is elegantly decorated, capturing old and new world vibes divinely! I took home as many bottles as possible and I know I would make the cross-country trip just to visit Aroma and also the Morais Winery in Bealton! This is the best wine tasting room in northern Virginia! Really cool little bar in Manassas at the old redskins shop. Whether you want a tasting paired with meats, cheese and chocolate or a bottle of your favorite Morais Vineyards this spot is great. Every detail from the tulip center pieces to the appetizers, served along side the wines, were eye appealing. The Manager, Megan, was poised and knowledgeable about her wines. Great place to come for happy hour. Not too loud so you can actually enjoy a conversation with friends. Nice areas for seating, a variety of booths, tables, and a bar. They have wine slushees, too, which I admit I get almost every time. The people I've gone with have gotten "regular" wine and enjoyed it also. They have cheese, salami/chorizo and crackers for sale. Aroma is a gem right in old town manassas that my wife and I just discovered today. The staff is great and very friendly but most importantly, the wine is great! We did the classic tasting which consisted of the first 8 wines on the menu; 4 reds and 4 whites. However, they do have 11 wines in total. I am very much a red wine guy and not usually a big fan of whites but I actually liked their whites. My favorite was their Touriga which is their boldest red; would definitely pair perfectly with dark chocolate or a nice steak! read more
