This is a nice location with a varied menu. Not exactly on par with what i consider diner food. I got a grilled chicken club and it was just ok not too flavorful. Sodas were flat and the water tasted funny bc it probably wasn't filtered which given the prices in this mall is unacceptable. Service wasnt attentive although it wasn't crowded. So i wouldn't recommend it. read more

Terrible service. I ordered a burger, my son ordered chicken fingers and fries, my wife ordered a BLT and fries. My burger was the equivalent of a Wendy's burger, and the coleslaw was old and from a bucket. My wives food was cold, and they forgot her fries. AND they forgot my son's food all together. The server never apologized for forgetting his food. And 10 minutes later his food finally came out. I was cutting his chicken, both because he likes it that way, and to make sure it was fully cooked. And on of the tenders was already cut into. That tells me the kitchen staff cut his food open to see if it was done. And when I told the server I wasn't taking his food orbiting for my son's food, the manager couldn't have even been bothered to come by and apologize!!! There was more staff standing around than guests in the restaurant. That should have been the tell to not eat there. TERRIBLE experience and surprised they are even still in business. read more

After opening for more than a week, the anticipated arrival of this establishment located on the 3rd level Court A at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford is over. Around the Clock offers an extensive menu and a family-friendly dining experience. My partner and I came as first-timers tonight for dinner. Upon entering, this two-story dining room is reminiscent of a European train station. Standing on the back wall, one can't help but stare at the huge clock. A nice, lengthy modern bar opens to the length of the inside dining room, with two screens for sports viewing. Comfortable, colorful block-patterned banquettes seat 216 patrons inside, with outside concourse seating for 26 and 18 at the bar. Greeted by the host, she got us a table right away. The menu features breakfast all day, as well as an array of sandwiches, burgers, pastas, entrées, and over-the-top shakes. As an added attribute, hand-dipped and decorated-to-order, house-baked donuts are not to be missed. Patrons will choose their glazes, like sugar, maple, chocolate, and dulce de leche, and toppings, such as sprinkles, chocolate chips, coconut flakes, walnuts, and assorted candies. We decided on avocado toast with pickled onion, tomato, and eggs and chicken avocado club with fries. The food was very good, the portions were just right, and Robbie provided fast, friendly service. The price was comparable to the diner in the area. As with any new restaurant, this place was immaculately clean. This isn't open 24 hours a day, but it opens at 10 a.m. each day. We had a wonderful dining experience and made one of the owners, Peter, known, which we can recommend. read more

There were plenty of restaurants but we decided on the diner because the day was still early and we didn't want anything too heavy. WORST MISTAKE of our trip. My mother and I ate here today. We were shown to a booth almost immediately but we waited for our server for about 12 minutes. It turns out the same guy that sat us was our server. It was not busy at all. I ordered the open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce. My mom ordered the strawberry shortcake waffle. Food arrived delivered by food runner. The turkey part of the meal was covered in gravy but the mashed potatoes came out naked. The cranberry sauce portion was way too small. The server came by and I requested more gravy for my potatoes. Unfortunately, I didn't see our server again until the end of the meal with the gravy. Also, my mother had requested syrup but that also only "magically" appeared at the end of the meal. The food was ok but it would have been so much better with more gravy or even butter but that was a no go. Our server was a good looking and personable guy but in the food industry good looks alone won't get you the big tips or the return business. Just saying. I got the impression that overall no one really cared what the customer experience was because no one asked. Not even the female manager at the register. I really don't think the tariffs are affecting the gravy portions. read more

This place looks nice but has major operational issues, and potentially food safety issues. There were little things that were off, like the tap water tasting strange, but we had a major problem with one of our meals that the wait staff there were pretty indifferent about. One of us ordered a vegetarian wrap, and for some reason the kitchen put shrimp in the wrap. We flagged someone down and told them there is shrimp in the vegetable wrap. We didn't get really any concern for potential allergies, or an apology, all we got was "there's shrimp in the wrap?" and after confirming she grabbed the plate and walked straight to the back without another word. Fast-forward about a half hour the rest of us were all done with our meals and the wrap had not come back out nor had anyone come to check on us about the situation. I flagged down our waiter and asked him to check on it, he did and said it was coming right out. This same interaction repeated about 10 minutes later after flagging him again. They could have fed shrimp to someone with a serious allergy and no one there seemed to care at all or have any kind of sense of urgency to remediate the situation, nor did they do anything to acknowledge the trouble they caused... I would classify their overall attitude as passive indifference. To add insult to injury, when it finally came out it didn't have the side of avocado we asked for about 4 times at that point (they didn't bring it out the first time either), but they got it right on the 5th ask. If I were a restaurant, maybe I would have at least comp'd the $4 side of avocado slices... after all of this, but they couldn't bother with any gestures like that. Look, I get that accidents happen, but a restaurant that doesn't take allergy safety seriously probably doesn't take food safety seriously generally and it's not worth taking a gamble on. read more

First off, it took over 10 minutes before anyone even came by to ask for our drink orders, the hostess even came over and said someone would be coming in two minutes, which didn't happen until 5 minutes later. You would think a restaurant with a big clock on the wall would be better at being on time lol. When the drinks finally came, the Cokes were completely flat, No fizz, no flavor. I've had a medical procedure making it so I can only eat very small portions. I asked to order a kids meal (literally just 3 tenders and some fries) because I physically can't eat an adult portion, which is chicken tenders, fries, onion rings, and coleslaw. They refused, saying they only serve kids meals to children when dining in. Even after I explained my medical condition I was told no by the waitress after she spoke with the manager. I decided not to order any food instead of wasting $20 and only physically being able to eat two chicken tenders. Funny thing is they'll let you order the same kids meal for takeout without the ability to verify if it was going to a child or not. Even if I had children at my table and ordered two kids meals "for them" and I decided not to order an adult meal and then ate that food I'm sure nothing would have been said. Instead they didn't get any money from me. And left me with a bad impression upon this restaurant, specifically the manager who quite frankly doesn't seem to have a shred of human decency or compassion for other people. It's not like we were a huge party of people trying to "get one over" on them The food that was order by others did arrive relatively quick, but The home-fries, eggs, and bacon my boyfriend had were last luster. Definitely not worth the wait or the attitude. Really unfortunate experience. read more

Grade A services are hard to find so close to retail shopping. American dream mall may not be fully operational by the restaurant definitely has it under control. Very few good places to eat in the mall but this "Diner" has everything you could want to enjoy. The service is over the top with customers care and go out of their way to help you enjoy the experience. The food is actually better looking than the delicious photos in the menu and taste even better. I recommend bypassing some of the other restaurants in the mall and going straight to the 3rd floor right at the exit of the elevator or escalator you won't regret it!!! read more

This is a solid choice for diner food. We had eggs Benedict, waffle, bacon, and yogurt parfait. Everything was prepared nicely and service was great. We are from the south and realize that food in this area will need a little salt added for our taste and we take that into account. We didn't try any lunch items. read more

This is one the worst places to visit at the American dream mall. The staff is extremely rude. I complained to the manager and she was equally rude. It took 30 mins for us to get a glass of water. You don't want to ruin your visit to the mall by coming to this place. I recommend avoiding it all costs. read more

Went at a not busy time took several minutes to be greeted by a server, but friendly. Food was subpar order Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and a pastrami Ruben. Prices were unreasonable portions were small and flavorless. The Ruben meat was dried out tough and disappointing. The chicken patty was small undercooked and also disappointing soaked in honey without "hotness" when asked how the food was was polite and gave my opinion the manager became adversarial trying to appease me but all I wanted was to try for myself. Believe the poor reviews not sure how this place stays in business. Very slow service poor time and not worth the price. Family day for us, so we had a party of 12. We were able to make a reservation three hours ahead of time while we enjoyed the mall. We came to the restaurant and we had to wait for a few minutes while they got the table together. Once the table was put together, we were accommodated right away. It is a big group so we all had questions. Our waitress was able to answer them immediately which was great. Our drinks were slow to receive but I assume it's because our party was large. The appetizers came out, we had bang bang shrimp, wings and the Mac and cheese bites. The Mac and cheese bites were ok but the shrimp and wings were delicious! When the main meals came out, everything was delicious! We got burgers, a chicken wrap, shrimp Alfredo, a fried shrimp breakfast, strawberry waffle, chicken sandwich's and a Cesar salad. Everything came out perfectly! For dessert we had the s'mores milkshake, chocolate ice cream and a strawberry cheesecake. The cheesecake was to die for!!! Horrific experience! I actually was shocked because the first and only other time that I went there everything was excellent from the service to the food. It was so great that I decided to take a friend there for lunch... this time I was actually embarrassed! The service was atrocious & the food was not good at all! The first time was for breakfast & it was great so maybe that's what we SHOULD have ordered? We both ordered burgers and they just weren't good. Also everything we needed (ketchup, extra napkins, etc) we had to ask at least 3 times before we got them. The table next to us had a similar experience where there order was wrong and the table behind us which was a party of about 8 people had ordered and nobody got their food except for the kids that were with them! EVERYONE was complaining... it was like the manager called out and nobody knew what to do. Even worse? Nobody working there spoke English so it was a challenge and a half trying to even get our order in! Maybe just a BAD day, but I'm sorry to say that I will be hesitant to try it again. read more
