Based on the exceptional reviews, I called Schrader to come out and fix the problem. They sent technician Michael Badgley. I was initially given two quotes, one for roughly $800 and the other for $4,000. After a quick inspection of my home, Michael determined that he would have to dig a hole in the back yard at a cost of $5,700. While I didn't really understand how the quotes kept changing, I agreed to the scope of work as I'm not a plumbing expert and needed to get the stoppage resolved quickly. Bewildered, I later sent the receipt to my neighbor, who informed me that my house was pier and beam, not slab as it indicated on the quote. I recalled Michael asking me where the crawl space was and I wasn't able to identify it (my fault as an uniformed homeowner) although I showed him the area I thought it was in inside the master bedroom. He passed right over it without a second look. Later, after speaking with my neighbor, I was able to go over and find the crawl space myself easily. Michael fixed the pipe under the toilet in the main bathroom and then proceeded to tell me that I would need to replace all of the pipes at my house at a cost of $30k. He couldn't even assure me that the problem I had just handed over $5,700 for was fixed. The icing on the cake was the $100 bill that I had tucked into my lunch tote on the kitchen table in view of the technician, and when I returned later it was missing. That was certainly my own fault for leaving it unsecured. I was concerned about the entire process and wrote to the owner, John Schrader. I waited several days with no response to my email or phone calls, which spoke volumes to me as a customer. After my third attempt to contact him, I was finally passed off to a service advisor. I explained my concerns to him, that the crawl space was never properly identified and that I wasn't sure that the repair that was done was necessary. He offered me a refund of $750 "to remove my bad review" which I hadn't yet written. Less than 2 months later I experienced the same stoppage. I called Schrader again and was told that the pipes needed to be replaced. I finally called another plumber who identified the source of the stoppage, this time to be at the front of the house instead of the rear. They fixed the problem for only a fraction of what I paid to Schrader. He explained that the first repairs were unnecessary. If you like being robbed, by all means give Schrader Plumbing a call. I absolutely feel violated and taken advantage of as a single female homeowner. If you want to save your hard earned money and get the job done right, get a second opinion.

This is not a thing I would do with any other business. (They did give me an estimate.) I have been bit by so many business in the 25 years here in Carrollton. Since finding Carrollton Plumbing several years ago I have had to call them several times and I trust them. They fixed my leaks. Yes more than one and made separate repairs that turned up while they were here. Something needs to be understood I am not related to and do not have any financial interest in Carrollton Plumbing. I recently received a water bill that was 4x the prior month, with not add'l water usage. I called CPS and the very next day they sent Luke and Jared out to test for leaks. The guys could have jumped straight into a more expense test with the main box, but instead they were methodically, went water device by water device (ie, sinks, faucets, washing machine, each toilet to see if any of those were leaking - also finding the fittings to my toilets were original to the 1983 house (which I had them replace - for a reasonable price). The last test proved (we hope - haven't' received a bill yet) was a leaky toilet. Yet they went ahead and then tested the main controller, first the house then the irrigation system. Fortunately, no pressure change - so all was good (whew!). Best of all Luke explained all the way through what he was doing and spoke in a way I could understand what he was doing. They did a great job servicing my water heater as it needed a flush after four years. Note that I was unaware of this maintenance was even needed! My bad! Thankfully it's behind me now. I also had them look at my sink disposal and two toilets. They provided good advice about the condition of a water valve on one toilet and after discussing price options, I decided to get the toilet pumps updated. Overall, they took just over an hour for all the repairs and then explained everything they completed by taking me on a "tour" of the repairs until I was satisfied. They cut numerous holes in our walls and still failed to restore proper plumbing. Instead, they bypassed and canceled two manifolds, which resulted in no hot water to our kitchen and laundry room (documented). When they returned to "fix" the problem, they made things worse by creating dead‑end lines, causing hot‑water circulation issues throughout the house and leaving multiple areas with only lukewarm water. They then attempted to charge us an additional $800 for this. After multiple follow‑ups and excuses (all documented), the company ultimately stopped responding altogether. We were forced to hire a licensed plumber to correct their work by running new lines to our kitchen and laundry room. The price quote ended up being a great value. The two guys that arrived were friendly and professional. Just nice guys. They got to work right away, and were done in about an hour. Included in the valve replacement cost, they excavated and replaced the old and inadequate builder-installed utility box with a much better one. They substantially elevated the water pipe junction to ensure it remains easy to access in the future, installed an additional water shut-off valve, and added pea gravel for drainage.
