The brisket hash with sweet potatoes was amazing

Great massive outdoor space!!! Great place to plan a celebration or large group gathering! Loved it as I attended a party about a month ago! DJ was rocking and the crowd was awesome!

Attended the Fam Jam block party and the vibes were immaculate! The venue is spacious, with multiple bars and a mini food truck park. Both Around the Corner and its neighbor building- Leeland House were utilized for its space and were great spaces to grab a break from the Texas heat. I was unfamiliar with this area prior to this weekend and would check them out during a regular business day. My only point doc was the drink pricing at Around The Corner. Not sure if it was due to the nature of the event, but adding gratuity on to single bar tabs is ridiculous. My boyfriend paid almost $40 for two shots, myself paying $52 for two drinks. I get wanting to make money but it's not a good way to retain customers. I'll opt for drinking elsewhere.

I didn't get to eat food but I heard they have an amazing brunch, great steak night, and delicious wings. The service was great. The bartender he was very kind and personable. The ambiance was nice as the xl patio is an option or inside depending on your preference. While visiting Houston I went twice during my time simply because the music was a great vibe and the service was consistent. Parking in front of the venue.

This place is massive. Two buildings, two patios and a huge outdoor space in the middle of it all. The set up and decor is fun and inviting. Also surprisingly for how busy it was the service was very quick. And most importantly the food was delicious! Would love to come back and try more of the menu too bad i only got to try the shrimp and grits and the honey chicken biscuit.

I came here with a few friends on Saturday brunch. There was a DJ on the patio and the outside area has shades and fans. The food I ordered was Shrimp and Grits. It was good, however, I feel it needed some more spicy/salty flavor to balance out the sweet sauce. The brisket hash was delicious and a good size for one person. I did notice some grease from the fried potatoes in there. The mimosas were worth the price for $15 a carafe. They came out with the mimosa as soon as we ordered. Overall, I would come back here again, and probably try the different brunch menu options. I also did see online their menu is different for dinner.

Yummy food and good service at the bar! Fun place Gage is a fabulous bartender and server! Food is fantastic and service is great!

My wife and I came for the first time and we really like the vibe. Gage the bartender did a GREAT job! I highly recommend this spot.

This was my first stop back home right off of the plane! My date and I both had the shrimp and grits. He had a side of chicken sausage that was decent. The lightly scrambled eggs were so good (idk it's the simple things about life). Finally the shrimp and grits were perfect. The grits were smooth, the cheese added even more richness but it wasn't overpowering. It looks as good as it tastes! I had a Perrier to drink to break down the cheese for my begrudged cheese lovers but it wasn't harsh on our stomachs at all. The ladies that worked inside were very polite and knowledgeable about the menu. There was a pretty good crowd in there nevertheless our service was fast. It gives sweet, quaint and country.

Vibe- Literally the same chill vibe with great music as Leeland House that is literally right next door and I found out they're owned by the same person so go figure! There's plenty of seating options outside and inside. You find your seat and then order at the bar. Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I got a beach please cocktail to drink and a chicken sandwich without the chicken and extra onions to make it vegetarian; they were both good. Parking- There's parking right in front of the building and if you get there right when they open you'll probably get one, but if not there's street parking.

Great Thursday Night spot!!!!! Decided to stop by around 5pm for the Thursday steak night. It is definitely a cute spot with a mature crowd and a good date night spot. This bar is located in the East Downtown area. It's an inside and outside bar with a great vibe. The crowd was mixed and the music was good variety. I tried the steak and it was good but the potatoes were not fully cooked. I took a bite and the potatoe was hard. I ordered a lavender lemonade which was strong and a Lemon Drop. That grilled pineapple is a must ordered. Very decorative for the holiday season. The service was great. The bartenders were attentive and made sure I kept drinking. The parking is in a neighborhood so it's limited so get there early. Give this spot a try.

The food was so so good !!! I ordered the honey chicken biscuit, and it was so yummy. However, there were several other options that really appealed! Coffee is self serve, and you go up to the bar to order. The vibe is cool, it's set in an old house and there's a nice little patio, too. Music was a little loud once the DJ at Leeland House started. Staff was sweet and food came out really fast! Dogs are definitely allowed (always a plus) and there is parking on the street or paid in the lot.

Stopped by with my friend for dinner before the Lizzo concert. The service was great. There was a new guy there that was super sweet and got our order just right. Not too busy on a Wed evening but a great vibe. $2 off cocktails and I believe the sharables are also 1/2 off. I forget when HH starts but it ends at 8 or 10. Tasty crispy cauliflower. So happy my friend shared with me. Bbq Bacon Burger was cooked perfectly, bacon was crispy and they put the bbq sauce on the side as I asked. Also made my fries truffle per my request and they were delicious . Nice and crispy shoestring fries and garlicky with delicious chunks of Parmesan. The Cinful cocktail was very good. Tasted a little carbonated which I liked. The flavor combo of the concoction was a great mix. My friend loved her Down South. Said it tingled the sides of her mouth but in a good way. (Hahaha, do you see what I inadvertently just did there? ;) ) The timing of the food and drinks coming out from the point we ordered was reasonably quick which was appreciated since we had a concert to get to. Ive had brunch at Leeland House and just had a work event at The Grove last week. Both were quality experiences so I knew Around the Corner wouldn't let me down. Order at the bar. My friend and I could not figure out how to order from the QR codes on the table although that is what we were advised. The QR codes only show you the menu and don't have an ordering option.

It also helps support local restaurants during slower seasons while raising money for local charities, which is something I always enjoy supporting. Unfortunately, our first Restaurant Weeks experience at Private Client was underwhelming. We ordered from both the Restaurant Weeks menu and the happy hour menu. For our first course appetizers we had the Bang Bang Shrimp and the Ceviche Acapulco. The Bang Bang Shrimp were very hot, fresh, crispy and delicious. It wasn't mayonnaise forward like I would've liked but the portion size was more generous than expected. The Ceviche Acapulco missed the mark. The bowl was filled with juice, which took away from the dish. For our main course, we ordered the 14 oz ribeye with mashed potatoes and broccolini that we asked to be cooked medium well. Unfortunately, it came out fully cooked, hard to cut, and under seasoned. We also ordered the lamb chops with couscous and broccolini, also cooked medium well. Those were the best out of the main courses we ordered. They were tender, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and well seasoned. The sides were just average. For dessert we tried the molten chocolate lava cake that was heavily drowned in raspberry sauce. And a scope of vanilla bean ice cream both were decent, but nothing to rave about. From the happy hour menu we ordered the Golden Hour and As You Wish cocktails, along with a Brut and a Rosé. We really enjoyed the As You Wish cocktail and the Rosé. We also ordered the sliders, which were easily one of the BEST things we ate, second to the lamb chops. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The interior is warm, modern chic with rustic touches, and the space feels open and inviting. The service was good, but not good enough to justify what happened at the end of the meal. Every menu clearly states that a 20% gratuity is automatically added only for parties of six or more. Our party consisted of just two people, yet a 20% gratuity was still added to our bill without being mentioned. We NEVER mind tipping for good service, and we had already left a generous tip more than what was promoted as a suggestion before realizing the gratuity had already been included. Being charged an automatic gratuity that contradicts the restaurant's own stated policy on every menu and without informing guests is unacceptable. If you decide to dine here, be sure to carefully review your bill before paying, no matter how quickly the card reader is handed to you.

Service: not great, we had a manager start off as our server but she was awkward in a "not socially aware" way (ex. she kept saying our server had to use the bathroom, even when our server came to the the table and looked so embarrassed; she also told me my non-alcoholic drink order would not taste good without knowing it's what I drink at home), rushed us (every time she said she would give us a moment she'd come RIGHT back to the table within seconds) Our actual server started off rocky as well, perhaps wasn't having a good day and she was visibly annoyed with the manager. She was short and blank with us until she realized we're very nice lol and by the end, her tone and energy had completely shifted for the better. The foreign object: about 2/3 of the way through the meal, I bit into a small piece of blue plastic.
