    Massaman Curry thai tea
    Kyle W.

Stopped in for lunch and met David. He was very proud of his wife and her ability to cook. He explained that everything was made to order and handmade. I had the massaman curry and a Thai tea, both were excellent and some of the best I've ever had.

Once again this place knocks it out of the park. My husband and I love the authentic Thai food! Always fresh and made to order. The owners are so kind and welcoming. The Garlic chicken, and Pad Thai are the best. The restaurant is bright, clean and makes you feel like you are in someone's home having family dinner. Also, we brought home some mango with sticky rice and my husband who really doesn't like that stuff. Thought it was amazing. We should've brought at least two home.

The food was delicious!!! Local wife, and husband owned restaurant, everything was homemade and exactly the homemade Thai cuisine you're looking for!!

I'm not a huge peanut sauce guy, but my wife is and she loved the sauce they came with. We also got the PJ wings, which were PHENOMENAL. Super crispy, very hot and juicy, and full of flavor. I would come here for lunch just to have those again. The cocktails were delicious--we tried the Sun Rise and Thai Fresh Ginger. My favorite dish of the night was my pad see ew. One of our friends got the drunken noodles, which was also great. This was easily one of the best pad see ew dishes I've had. Service was great; food was great; drinks were awesome. I would definitely recommend trying this spot.

The place itself is very cozy and even offers outdoor and indoor seating. Not sure if the air conditioning was broken because this place had a lot of fans roaming. I got the drunken noodles as they are my go to dish for Thai food. A bit oilier than what I would usually eat, but it was very delicious considering I have not had Asian food and a hot minute. A bit spicy as I requested. My boyfriend had the pad kra pao, wanted to compare the restaurant and my cooking, although he says my cooking was good. He finished his dish. We both sure that chicken wings, which were dry and OK.

I always get the Spicy Lemongrass Noodles (baseline usually not very spicy- you can add table side spices to your liking). They vary a little year to year but I always enjoy them. Cold air inside, waters stayed full, but it can be fairly noisy depending who you're sat next to and how busy the place is. Tables can be a bit tight for a couple as you'll only get a 2 top (they get busy and need to save the larger tables for bigger parties). We were able to order before the 10 top next to us, so our food came out super fast! (Yay!!) Could use two bathrooms though, the one they have is large but when they are packed it can be quite a wait. Lots of metered street parking on Broughton and nearby streets. We'll be back again!

Makes it fun to try dishes from different locations, especially for those unfamiliar with Asian cuisine. Very pricey menu. Pad Thai 2.5/5 could have had way more flavor and had zero spice, and they didn't ask if we wanted a spice level at all. Flavor came out once chili sauce was added. Red spicy noodles were spicy and yummy! 5 spice BBQ pork plate was super flavorful, loved this dish! Lychee sake martini just tasted like lychee juice which was great. They also add in 2 lychees to eat/garnish! A good spot, nothing to write home about. Probably wouldn't come back, there was nothing wrong with the place, just nothing exceptional.

Saigon Cafe on Waters Ave. closed, and that was the last place I knew in Savannah that served that exquisite, clear soup. I always get chicken soup (pho ga). The new owners are doing good work, but I'd been spoiled. The broth doesn't have the depth, and it isn't hot enough. It's gotta come smoking, fogging glasses, clearing sinuses. But Boomy's brings the broth. I've been there two or three times, and it's my new pho go-to. The noodles are wider than At Saigon Cafe, but that's fine; they hold their bite longer without getting mushy. Please note: Boomy's is a bar on Congress Street in Downtown Savannah. It's wheelchair accessible and laid back. A Dad out with his two young boys asked if one kid could use the bathroom and was welcomed ... no purchase, no hesitation. And a lady in a wheelchair with her companion and her dog ducked in for a soft drink and a rest. Everyone's welcome. Nothing about its façade or dive-bar vibe suggests it serves bangin' Vietnamese food. Waitstaff is quick to show you the burger menu on the back, in case pho isn't your jam. Because they serve Thai food as well, they're careful to have you choose your heat level. They're happy to give you pepper flakes on the side and Sriracha at the table. But my pho didn't need it. My lunch companion got the rare beef pho. The hot soup came with thin slices of beef wrapping in foil on the side. Drop it in and it cooks. Looked delicious. My pho ga was amazing. I rarely can eat it all, but I did that day. My only minor complaint is that the bean sprouts looked a little less than fresh, but I'm not a big fan of them in soup anyway. Didn't slow me up one bit. But I AM a big fan of their cucumber and tomato salad. Cukes, chopped tomatoes, grated carrots, and maybe grated radish were all dressed with fish sauce, maybe rice vinegar, and a little sugar. If I'd had some cilantro I would have added it; cilantro is expensive these days. Can't blame them for not including it. It may be available by request. Oh, and try the cocktails. I had the tequila cooler and subbed watermelon vodka for cucumber vodka. So refreshing. Go to Boomy's. Get there on one of the few remaining cool days of spring. Or if you come down with a spring cold. Or if you work downtown in an office meat locker, go to warm up from the inside out. It's worth the hunt for parking.

Overall, I'd say our first visit had slightly better food and service, but this experience was still decent. The restaurant is small and located in a strip mall next to the Pancake House. Service was good considering there was only one waitress handling orders for the entire restaurant, with an assistant helping to clear tables. My husband ordered the Tom Kha soup, and I ordered the Tom Yum, though we were both served Tom Kha by mistake. He also enjoyed his eggplant dish with fried tofu. My Sukiyaki Thai Haeng was just okay--not something I would order again, but the menu offers plenty of other dishes I'd be willing to return and try. We were too full to order our favorite mango sticky rice for dessert, unfortunately. One thing worth noting: there is a 5% discount for paying with cash and a 3% credit card fee, which we weren't informed about until after paying with a credit card (saw it on our receipt). Lunch for two was $64. Overall, a solid neighborhood Thai spot with a wide variety of options, though there's room for improvement.
