Aroy was my first visit to a Thai restaurant yesterday, Fri., Apr. 10, 2026. Aroy is great! The Atmosphere is cozy, well appointed, & chill. The owners, David and his wife/chef , Ning, were very hospitable hosts. I felt as if I was in their home. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making their customers happy is their main priority. Food is very favor-packed and fresh, the Thai classics are excellent, and for the price, it's a 100% worth it. And their sauces are off the hook tasty. Their name says it all, ... IT IS DELICIOUS. Stopped in for lunch and met David. He was very proud of his wife and her ability to cook. He explained that everything was made to order and handmade. I had the massaman curry and a Thai tea, both were excellent and some of the best I've ever had. read more

Once again this place knocks it out of the park. My husband and I love the authentic Thai food! Always fresh and made to order. The owners are so kind and welcoming. The Garlic chicken, and Pad Thai are the best. The restaurant is bright, clean and makes you feel like you are in someone's home having family dinner. Also, we brought home some mango with sticky rice and my husband who really doesn't like that stuff. Thought it was amazing. We should've brought at least two home. read more

I liked the previous restaurant in this building, Tangerine. It was a solid place tucked at the end of a strip of stores and venues. This new restaurant, Aroy Thai Cuisine maintains a lot of that ambiance. There is a bar area that I don't remember from Tangerine. It looked like you could order food from the bar. The owner does the seating and waiting on tables. His wife does the cooking. I asked him for recommendations and ended up with A hearty Kao Tom with pork. This was a soup loaded with meat, noodles and vegetables in an incredible broth. I had never had this before and while it may become one of my favorite foods, I can't wait to explore the rest of the menu. My wife had the Pad Thai. I noticed fellow Yelper said something about the noodles being wide and flat compared to traditional rice noodles . We are not that well versed in Thai cuisine and thought the substance and flavors were exceptional. Portions were huge and we took home enough for lunch the following day. We also split an appetizer of 3 spring rolls. They were among the best I have had from restaurants. Crispy outside with a warm inside served piping hot with a sauce. This area has several good restaurants in this area but Aroy's stands out as better than it's 4* neighbors. We will return and maybe split a lunch or dinner. They gave us a takeout menu since we are only 15 minutes away. That would be a nice option also. It's nice to have a quality, new restaurant in the South side. Ordered delivery- Pad Thai: made with wide noodles, not thin. Very little flavor and no bean sprouts or peanuts. Penang Curry: it was so thin it resembled a broth .. zero flavor and no likeness to curry whatsoever. Very disappointed... these are two basic Thai dishes. read more

I'm so glad I found this place..I was staying at the Marriott hotel next door.i ordered spring rolls and the yellow curry chicken. So delicious Food was hot & tasteful . The This food here is amazing! Everything is fresh delicious. We tried the clear wrap vegetable spring rolls with beef. Green curry chicken with rice . WOW! Explosive curry dish with a light coconut broth loaded veggies. Pew ee ew, flat rice noodles, veggies, with choice of protein. We chose chicken. Outstanding! When I say this is the flavor I've missed from California due to being stationed there for a really long time....OMG and the owner was so sweet to my son! He walked in and the incense that was burning he moved it to where we waited for our to go order and it made his day! We stopped in on a Wednesday evening. Husband David out front. Wife Ning in the kitchen. All dishes made to order, everything authentic and fresh. The spring rolls appetizer were spot on with a tasty sauce. We had the chicken with cashews and Pad Thai. Both were different from the ordinary Thai restaurant. Both had complex flavors that made them stand out. Portions were sizeable. Another great thing is that it's BYO. We brought a German Riesling that was amazing with the food. Cute ambiance inside! I came to eat with my brother. The server was very attentive and friendly. He was telling us about his wife cooking everything to order and that we could honestly order anything and it would be good. We ordered a papaya salad, stir fried chicken, and pad see ew. I was impressed with the portion size, because we were basically getting two meals in each order. Everything tasted well, but the papaya salad was especially flavorful!We will be back :) read more

First time trying this place and it has only been here a few months. I always go with Massaman Chicken on my first try because to me that is hard to get right. Happy to say it was excellent and flavors of sweet carrot, cinnamon, and clove stood out with just the right amount of heat. I ate in the small bar area which had comfy seats and a TV, but the dining area looked inviting as well. David was kind, helpful, and kept me company since I was eating alone. Enjoyed meeting his wife (the chef) as well. Will definitely return to try the spring rolls and dumplings. read more

If I could add more stars I would. The best Thai spot in town. Amazing atmosphere and charming ppl. The food is out of this world flavorful fresh and delicious. This place is new, I ordered the Thai tea (5 stars) and Pad Thai (4.5 stars). I eat a lot of Thai food and this didn't miss the mark. I would have given this place a perfect 5 stars, but with the Pad Thai I received wide rice noodles instead of the "rice noodle" listed which is usually the traditional rice noodle served with Pad Thai. It was still delicious and the food is cooked fresh to order. I will definitely return to try more dishes. read more

Stumbled upon Thai cuisine when visiting Savannah from Hilton Head area. Only one's in the restaurant but had good conversation and great food. The spring rolls were crispy and full of flavor. Entrees were huge for lunch. Might attract more attention with lunch menu...smaller portions for a good price. read more

The co-owner is friendly and happy to chat with guests, though he literally stated he "hates" working there (perhaps half joking but assured us he wasn't) but does it for his wife's dream of owning a restaurant. Don't blame him. Working 7 days a week at this stage of life...but he's friendly. We travel quite a bit and often eat Thai food because one of us is a pescatarian. Back home Thai is our go-to, so we eat it quite often. As much as I want to leave a great review because I wish them well, I would not return here. I eat Pad See Ew and Panang or Masaman curry often. Most restaurants offer the base dish with veggies at one price and then you can add your protein (including tofu) for an additional price. Here many menu items are automatically with chicken. If you don't want chicken and want tofu instead you add $5 to the price! So they remove the chicken, add tofu (which typically costs less per pound, or about the same) and charge $5 more. I have been in many dozens of Thai (and Asian fusion) restaurants. This was a first. Not cool. Based on this alone I wouldn't return here. The Pad See Ew was not wide noodles. More fettuccine width. The sauce was nothing like any other I've had and I could not eat it. My husband ate it bc he was hungry but didn't love it. The masaman with shrimp was like a soup. The most watery masaman I've ever had. The flavor was good, however, just way, way too watery. The shrimp were small. There was in no way enough rice for this watery dish, but a second rice will cost you another $5. For comparison, where I eat regularly, the curry is $16 vegetarian plus $3 for the protein including shrimp. A side of jasmine rice is $2.50. And where I live the cost of living is more than here. So, honestly, I wish them well but this was very disappointing and the cost value isn't there, especially for those who do not eat "land" meat. That you can bring your own wine without corkage is awesome and I hope many go there for that perk and find dishes they like. My feedback to the chef/owner is to make the dishes vegetarian by default and charge extra according to the actual value of the protein. Paying MORE to have the chicken replaced with tofu is not fair value. read more

Went with a group of 8. The owners welcomed us and answered our numerous questions. Since everything is cooked to order they explained we might not all our orders at once. It was worth the wait. Food was delicious and plentiful. All of us said we would be back! read more

My husband and I were in town just passing through. This place was near our hotel. Found it on Yelp. Got good reviews so we tried it out. EXCELLENT! Everything is made from scratch so it takes a bit longer to get your food. No alcohol is served so BYOB. There were 3 of us in the party and we all got something different. All the dishes were amazing. The fresh and regular (lightly fried) spring rolls were soooo good. Green curry dish was delicious, pad thai, and can't remember the 3rd dish we ordered but it too was amazing. It is a bit spicy so if you want it less spice be sure to request. If we pass through again we will go again!!! read more
