Their service is really bad! Our truck was recovered yesterday in Hayward after it was stolen from our warehouse. The Hayward PD dispatched this tow company to help us tow the truck from Hayward to the repair shop. The driver was nice but he and the owner got into a physical fight in front of us. (a little unprofessional, no?) And then when it came time to pay the $450 tow fee, we had to pay cash even though the owners said they take credit cards. Don't use this company! read more

I wish I could leave no stars but that's not allowed. My car was towed by this place because my tags were expired. My mechanic had just rebuilt my engine and parked in front of my house. The same day it was towed by Arroyo. It took me a couple weeks to get all my paperwork in order to pick it up and when I did, the car wouldn't run. I looked under the hood and there was a part missing. I called them and they said they would never take anything but now my hood won't latch and one of the parts gone. I can't believe I'm seeing all these negative reviews...it honestly makes me sad because I just had the best experience wth this company. A few hours ago I was involved in a car accident and was obviously very shaken up, crying...the whole bit...when someone who pulled over to help us out offered to call a tow truck for me I was grateful for him to offer that for me. About 20ish minutes later ( and there was traffic too so that's impressive) Rick, from Arroyo tow company came, and immediately asked me if I was okay, helped me into the tow truck to wait as he loaded up my car and just kept ensuring that I was okay and comfortable. The plan was to take me to the tow yard and wait for my ride, but he asked me if there was anywhere else he could take me to make me feel more comfortable...his exact words "I know you just went through a lot but what's important is that you're somewhere where you're safe and comfortable" never have I met someone so caring and thoughtful to actually ask me these questions...I was by myself, very scared (still am) and he could see it on my face and just tried to make it better...on the way to drop me off, he kept me busy talking about other subjects to keep my mind off of what just happened and I felt comfortable. He dropped me off and went on his way after that, and I thanked him for being so kind to me after literally meeting me not even a half hour earlier in tears. So, for all the negativity being posted about this business, I really hope this changes your heart...because just because there's one bad seed somewhere doesn't mean there isn't gems out there like Rick. read more

ZERO STARS!!!!!this tow company is the worst tow company i have ever encountered!! not only did i have to more than 800$ in fees for days that tow yard was closed but apparently there tow truck drivers have no idea how to properly use there tow equipment. the driver had to drag my 4wd suv out of a parking spot and tried to do so by hooking up to my rear shock absorbers which of course did nothing but rip the shocks out so there goes another $300-400 i had to spend on that repair but that's not all!! the stupid incompetent tow truck driver hooked up to something else not the tow hooks and damn near ripped off my rear bumper there goes another $300-400. then the the guy at the tow yard had the nerve to say it wasn't them who did the damage i drive this vehicle every day for work and now the vehicle is not even drivable. this company should just stop doing towing because there tow truck drivers don't know how to properly use there equipment how you gunna break someone's vehicle and not take responsibility for it??? this whole pandemic thing has really hit my family hard and i cant afford these repairs i could barely afford to get it out of the damn tow yard AND my vehicle was wrongfully towed!!!! no im at risk of loosing my job and my only means of transportation i hate you arroyo tow yard!!! and this isn't over!! read more

This towing company is the worst. But i already expected this since i checked their reviews before coming here. Phone operators told us drivers will arrive 15-20minutes. We waited two hours and the lady owner straight out snap at us "well if its two hours then you have to wait two hours" - this is ofcourse assuming the shes the only person in the world that has a job and has to take care of things. She also showed up without her keys, so we have to wait for the other guy that have keys. Oh and u need cash, because debit broke. So yeah get ready to be in hell here. read more

This business is the most fraudulent and worse place to have your car towed by also they are affiliated with the Hayward Police Department which makes everything worse as there's no help from the police to rectify issues either. They had towed my grandpas limousine because the police had called them because supposedly we didn't move our car with 72 hours in front of my home but in fact we did and we have camera footage of that however that is irrelevant as that is hayward pd's issue. The driver of this company towed my limousine wrong first off all it is a RWD vehicle which means if you tow it you must tow it from the back unless you tow it from the front and then put a wheel Dollie on the back tires obviously their drivers are inexperienced and have no idea how to do their job and then as soon as they were leaving our home the driver broke the headlight of our vehicle and then my grandfather had followed the vehicle as it was on the road the limo started to wobble all over the place and the driver had to stop at 3 places because the driver obviously didn't know his job and the limo was being skidded to the tow yard and we also have recorded video proof of that and the limos transmission and suspension was damaged in that process and if the owner of the company is reading this (you should know better and train your employees) then they eventually took it to the tow yard we go to the hayward police station to pay the fine and then as we went to the tow yard the gate was open and the rude employees were like hurry up and pay as the gate is closed we're gonna charge an extra fee that doesn't play out smart because the gate was open and it was within business hours and then they said alright take it for $120 today and we're not responsible for the headlight and he agreed however they scammed him and put in the letter we assume no responsibility for anything wrong with your car and so as my grandfather was driving the car home he experienced how damaged the car was and we filed an insurance claim against the company to get compensated for our damages and the owner called my grandfather or maybe employee talking so rude he was like you are a FRAUD and this and that and he was like nothing we did wrong on your vehicle!!! How the hell do you know that??? You first of all have drivers that don't know shi*** and then you want to tell me that my vehicle was not damaged well you're wrong cuz you didn't drive my car or properly tow it so don't think consumers are stupid and don't scam people!!! Stopped by this place because they listed a car for sale. The two men that assisted me provided a high level of customer service that I was pleased with. They made me feel comfortable and answered all of the questions that I had regarding the vehicle. I test drove it and had more questions and they took their time to ensure that I felt comfortable making my purchase. I will definitely do business with them again. I had to use the rest room and all they had was a porta potty so you know I was scared lol I asked if it was clean first and he assured me that it was. Much to my surprise it was one of the cleanest I had ever seen!! The men I encountered were very professional and didn't try to scam me due to me being a woman. I came in at 8 am thinking they would open at that time. Nope, called their phone number and the lady said someone would come in in 15-20 mins. 8:30 am rolls around and some guy shows up and opens the gate for me. As we're walking into the office I asked him if they open at 8 and he said yes we do but I told him that I was here since 8 and no one was here on time. He smugly said that we're all human beings and that we all operate the same. So much for professionalism. I am not one to write a horrible review on a business, but I created an account just for this reason. Jimmy which I believe is the owner of Arroyo Tow is for a lack of better terms, a piece of work! Jimmy does not know how to speak to people, and is willing to go ballistic over a very small bill. They will tow your car and expect payment before the job is completed. I would not recommend anyone using the business for personal or business reasons. They seem like a very crooked bunch of guys and gals. I am not sure if the company has a chance to get rid of Jimmy if he is not the owner, but they may want to consider that moving forward, especially after reading numerous other reviews on this business. read more

I recently was in a wreck on 880 and i was so confused about the hole process since it was my first time.So when the tow truck operator arrived,his name was ,Clint,he asked me to get in his tow truck,because my saftey was his top priority, he escorted me with his fladhlight,opens the door helped me into his truck gave me a chocolate candy bar and says Eat this because it will calm you down and when i get back i will explain everything that happenes. So he shuts the door,loads up my car,when he got in he was do calm ,he really made me feel like i was jane and he was superman.So he explains my options,and when i told him that i have no way of getting home,he got somebody to cover him and ,in his personal car,drives me home,helps me with my stuff and made sure i got into my house safely.I have never experianced anything like that ,that guy is some kind of gentleman ,if i was 20 years younger i would keep him forever,thank you Arroyo towing read more

The Sheriff found our dear old truck joy-ridden and abandoned after it was stolen, called this towing company which cannot be called A$$hole$ as per Yelp's policy (see previous experienced yelper's comment) to tow it, and called us. We made it to the storage yard before Arroyo Tow showed up, so we waited for them and thought we would pay the towing fee of $175, not the $80 charge to open the gate or the $80/day for storage. You guessed it, not with those guys! It gets more interesting. When they finally arrived it was immediately obvious that they were requiring us to pay unwarranted charges, and . . . -- just because! -- I took a picture of our trashed vehicle still loaded on their tow truck which the driver had parked outside the gate. This is when "Jimmy" (the "boss") crossed the line, yelling that I was not allowed to take that picture and he wanted me to delete it immediately, or else . . . . I recently helped someone whose car was stolen, crashed and sent to Arroyo. On the positive side, the employees and drivers were some of the nicest people; they really tried to help. On the other side, the boss there is angry, foul-mouthed and threatening. He treats the employees and customers worse than dirt. I watched an employee load a white BMW with front end damage on to a flat bed tow truck. The boss then came and used the fork lift to smash the side of the car and lift the fork scraping the handles off the previously perfect doors. My car was stolen from my garage and Arroyo Towing was the place it was taken to. The HPD charged me nothing to pick it up, but Arroyo Towing would not even let me see it! I was never allowed to speak to the manager about the problem. When I finally was allowed to see it, the cost of towing and storage was more than I could afford. I took this company to small claims court and they were ordered to return it to me if I gave them $900. (by this time the charges were well over $2000). I did as ordered and the extremely cocky man-in-charge told the judge the vehicle had been scrapped without his knowledge. What tow company scraps a perfectly fine vehicle? The man also said he never loses in small claims court. Well, he sure did this time. I am waiting to hear back from the judge to see what they have to pay me for "losing" my car. Please take these jokers to court if they have done you wrong. I am working on getting their business license taken away, so maybe this will be a moot point. I sure hope so. I just had to deal with these jokers, 1/3/18. When I got there at 8 AM, I had to wait a couple hours for this joker to show up. When he showed up, he had a attitude, I wasn't in the mood for any attitudes. My car was stolen, found and towed to this pitiful place. I needed to know if my car would start and if it did start, it needs to be warmed up before moving it, or the engine will act crappy. He wouldn't let me in the yard to start my own darn car. Anyways, he threatened me that if it don't start, he would forklift it out of the yard. Who the heck runs a business like that? He was a jerk. I'm 60 years old and disabled. Had I been 55 years old and not disabled, we'd a been throwing blows. This fool had no respect whatsoever, and If I run into him again anywhere in Hayward, I'm gonna give him a real piece of my mind. I feel sorry for victims of crime who have to deal with this rinky dink shady place. Do the Police Departments know what kind of place this or do they even care?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, OK, it's now 12 hours later and I'm still ticked off, but I want to add something. For 90% of people who have to deal with these yards, it's a one shot deal, we're not going to be returning customers, highly highly unlikely, that's why they can treat people like crap, what do they care? In my case, once the cop calls them up to pick up a vehicle, basically at that, they've made their money one way or the other. If I was running one of these kinds of places, at the very least, I would show some empathy for victims of crime, like if that's not enough, they get victimized again having to pay these disgusting, outrageous fees, which the city government has got to get involved and fix it, it's broke. read more

After reading some of these reviews I should consider myself "lucky". Anyway, HPD called these shady people to tow my vehicle for past due registration. (In addition to that I had a flat tire so I couldn't move the car). The police officer M. Fontes#428 told me it would be around $150-160. We waited 40 minutes, I begged the cop to allow me to do without the towing but he was unmoved. Finally the tow truck driver came and asked questions regarding the conditions of the vehicle (normally they ask questions to prospect future sales); they told me all I had to do was to go get my registration taken care and to get a day pass. I did, and when I called them they told me I needed a release. (I figure is time to pay back the favor so it's an all win-win for the city and the towing company) Sure enough, the City of Hayward via their police department charged me $235.00 just to sign the release. The towing company when I got there I saw a group of people laughing and telling Spanish jokes. They told me it was $220.00. They said because it had been more than six hours they were charging me more, and that if I would have gotten there later than 5pm they would have charged me $80.00 for a "gate opening" extra fee. I must say this: other vehicles parked on the same block cited for overdue registration, all they got was a warning, meaning an orange sticker saying to take care of it, I never received the same courtesy, and instead they just towed the vehicle. Notice we're home owners for about 25 years parked just in front of our own house. This is a total scam and the City of Hayward ought to be ashamed for contracting shady companies to represent their business, and for charging outrageous fees for signing release forms. Highway robbery. Stay away from this company! If you decide to do business with these individuals you will regret it, as they will reap you off. The only reason I give them one star its because there isn't anything lower otherwise they would get a 5 minus. read more
