Whenever I'm in the mood for fries or a hamburger and In-n-Out is too crowded, I like to go to Jim's! I've been coming to Jim's since I was 5 and it's been a family favorite. The breakfast menu is pretty good! I've tried their hamburgers, fries, shakes and ice cream. My orders differ based on what I'm in the mood for. The fries are always perfectly made fresh which is my favorite! From their hamburgers, chili dogs, fries, chili fries, breakfast, sundaes, avocado burger, sandwiches, and sundaes, they are pretty consistent with everything. The only item I am not fond of are the breakfast burritos. I've ordered the burritos a few times and it's always been a bit disappointing. The inside is kept clean and there is plenty of seating. I would recommend Jim's to anyone in the area looking for a cost efficient, filling meal :)

My go to place when I was in middle school since it was walkable. Always got the chili cheese fries there. Great portion size and value. Large chili cheese fries is stuffed in the large to go boxes and large fries or onion rings is filled fully in a white paper bag. Quick service at drive thru. Got a small chili cheese fries and small onion rings since I wasn't sharing today. Tastes just like how I remembered in middle school. Super cheesy on top and great chili. Pro tip, let it rest a few minutes after you get it so the cheese melts fully and the chili soaks in to the fries giving it soggy slight crispy fries. Would recommend you don't leave it out too long. Once it gets cold fries and cheese get tough. Onions rings today tasted it was fried in relatively new oil. Frozen onion rings but has the hard crispy texture. Goes well with ranch or ketchup. Diner style restaurant that has been here since I was growing up. Would come back for chili cheese fries

How this place is rated 4 stars is f***king wild. This wasnt my 1st time here, but I stopped going years ago because I didnt think the cost of the food matched the quality. But I was desperate for breakfast the other day, so I decided to give them a shot. Its kind of hard to f**k up breakfast. But guess what? They did! I ordered a bacon and egg omelette, which also came with toast. Pretty simple. The bacon was hard as s**t. The eggs were as well. There was absolutely no cheese. What kind of omelette doesnt have cheese? Seriously, the bacon was like jerky. Then the hash browns.... they weren't hash browns, they were like lays potato chips that were deep fried. I've never seen any hash browns like that in my f***ing life. $14 for a plate of ASS. Never again.

I was craving for some fast food and knew this Jim's location has a drive-thru. I went on a Saturday at around 5:30 pm. I was surprised to see the drive thru not busy. However, many of the parking spots in the back were full. I was particularly craving a double cheese burger, so I got that with a side of chili cheese fries. I got the burger with no adjustments. Something that stood out was that the patty was crispy. For the ratio, I felt there was a good amount of onion, lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions. For the future, I'll probably adjust the order to grilled onions with no tomato. For the chili cheese fries, it tasted okay. There was nothing that stood out for it, so I wouldn't get it again. Note: American Express is accepted.

My husband and I stopped here for a quick breakfast. He ordered ham and eggs, and I ordered an egg sandwich. Both items were pretty good. I'd like to come back and have lunch here someday.

Drive thru is conveniently located along Rosemead Blvd. The drive thru line moved relatively quick. Great option for takeout. Food was unfortunately just average. The portions are large but quality of the food was underwhelming. Total order came out to roughly $22. Patty melt - Two thin patties on sourdough, caramelized onions and cheese. The bread was very dry, cheese and onions were barely there. Zucchini fries (small) - Mostly batter and very greasy. French fries (small) - Between thin cut and Belgian fries but the serving I got was either hollow potatoes or stale. Still searching for comfort diner food in the area that comes close to Paul's Place in OC.

I was order number 88 tonight Ordered tonight a chili fries with pastrami on top. With a double cheese burger only. Came home to realize there was no pastrami on top. Paid for the pastrami and had none on my fries. Please do better. Idk if it was the cashiers fault or the cook.

Wanted to try the burgers bc of the name and ordered online for pickup. You can either go to counter OR the drive thru which is very convenient. Overall, burger meats were underwhelming and not well flavored. If it wasn't for the bacon and other condiments it would not have tasted good :( - California Burger - too much mayo slabbed on - like the avocado and melt style though- 3/5* - 1/2 pound burger - again - meat unflavored :( disappointing - 2/5* - pastrami burger - same issue w the meat patty - 3/5* - Carne Asada Quesadilla: - lots of meat surprisingly :) - but oddly contains lettuce and jalapeños which I def did not like 3/5* - Chili cheese fries: - most of the fries has enough sauce and chilly and cheese - so pretty much the only thing I ordered that wasn't meh - 4/5* Pickup service was actually pretty quick. I think I'll def come back for the chilly cheese fries if I'm looking for a quick bite and want a low key casual ambiance.

    Chili Cheese Fries

Best chili cheese fries I had! They were delicious fries where hot, chili and cheese on point and the drive thru is good service. Definitely coming back to try the cheese burger

Ask the Community - Jim's Famous 1/4 Pound Burger

Does anyone know what the "garden burger" is? I always forget to ask when I'm there in person.

A vegetarian patty....usually made from oats, mushrooms, cheese, ground wheat. Some are tasty, some taste like shit on a bun.

The smell of the food they were cooking smelled so delicious. It was hard to not want to try the food. Sean had explained the menu to me since it was my first time going there. Joey (owner cooking on the grill) recommended sweet heat croissantwich they have that's not on the menu. A customer in line had chimed in how they had done a collab with Gooey Center cinnamon rolls and they put a maple sausage in the middle. I had ordered a few sandwiches but was only able to try the sweet heat croissantwich. This was amazing it was a crunchy yummy goodness that I can't explain. It wasn't spicy and you can taste a slight sweetness. It was the perfect bite each time. I had also ordered a hashbrown on the side. It was so crispy and it didn't need ketchup or anything else. I can't wait to come back soon to try the breakfast burger which they're known for and the S.P.E.C sandwich. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich sounded pretty popular as well. I believe the smash burgers is what started it all but you definitely gotta try it for yourself.

I, for one, immediately noticed the huge mural that heralds our Greatest Laker Ever the moment I pulled offve Live Oak into the small lot that abuts Fantastic. Digging further, I discovered that the "Eat Fantastic" quintet of restaurants that dot the greater LA metropolitan area ARE IN FACT a modernized spinoff of the "Cafe Fantastic" chain that Gen Xers like me fondly recall. Sheeeeeeeeeiiit. True story- All throughout my time at San Pedro High, my best friend Mick and I usta demolish their Combo Burger Platter (burger/fries AND onion rings, side salad and drink) for only $3.65. 40yr flashback over, your favorite Yelp correspondent went for Fantastic's pastrami sandwich combo. And while it doesn't come with a quintet of items guaranteed to fillya up- I can vouch that the pastrami is legit!!! Well seasoned, peppered, served steaming hot aboard a French roll gently slicked with mustard. I've had my share of fabulous pastrami in my time- Katz Deli in NY, Brent's Deli in Northridge and more locally and if you're in a severe 'strami fix...then Togo's #9 will do ya, too. This doesn't compete at those lofty levels, but for its price I'll order this eight days a week over the razor-thin pastrami dispensed by the overrated The Hat chain of pastrami-phixated locales! While this was a takeout order, I can attest that all of my.prior dealings w/ the Eat Fantastic staff has been just fine. Courteous and swift service.

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. Tasty burgers and a must try for sure if your around! Cheers!

I ended up in Montebello by chance and looked to Yelp for some help with lunch. I ended up at a little food court that had a few solid looking options, but sometimes when you see a burger and smell a burger, you simply need to eat the dang burger. There was no line when my wife and I approached the window to order and we ordered a double cheeseburger, a grilled cheese, an order of fries, and a milkshake. Now, instead of simply giving us the price the dude working told us how it was going to take a really long time because he would have to make the burgers and the milkshakes, which ya know, is kind of how it works when you order food. So instead of questioning his logic, I just said forget the shake and ordered the food. The food took literally 8 minutes to come out and I can't imaging the milkshake would of caused that much trouble since they are ordered all the time, but who am I to say? The food was great, as For The Win always is. The french fries were great and so was my burger, but the lackluster interaction with the kid working really put a damp on the experience. Overall, For The Win is still my favourite burger chain in LA and it's going to take a lot for someone to knock them down (although Burgers Never Say Die and Irv's are up there too). Maybe one day, I'll even get to try a milk shake! Hopefully you have a better time ordering then I did.
