ARS used to be a great company. No longer. My experience has been horrible. I have been trying (unsuccessfully) for a week to get my tankless water heater serviced, under an annual service plan. First appointment. Noon to 4pm window. They call me at about 5pm and say the service technician cannot make it that day because of a "family emergency." Second appointment. Noon to 4pm window. They call me about 4pm and say "it will be closer to 5pm" At 5;30, they call "you are next" - at 8pm. I give up and cancel the appointment. After appoint number 2 is a total fiasco, I get a call from someone at ARS who claims to be highly concerned. "We want to make this right" "So sorry" and the like. We agree to schedule the appointment for a bit earlier in the day. Promises to bring the problem to attention of management. Third appointment 11:00-3:00pm window. Around 11 I get a call - it will be about 1pm. Around 2:00 I call them - where is your guy? "running late." I quite reasonably asked - why did you tell me it would be 1pm if that was clearly not happening. No answer. About 2:30 I got a call from the technician - I'm on my way. Its now 4:00pm and still no service tech. I call ARS. Now the story is "Sorry, we had to change service techs because the original guy had a family emergency" So, we sent a different guy. He's just around the corner, he will be right there. " I asked where EXACTLY? Dispatcher puts me on hold and calls the tech - turns out he's miles away. (Two claims of "family emergency" in the course of a single attempt to get a service call does make me wonder whether that is nothing more than a convenient excuse. Might be true, of course, but twice during this one attempt to get a service call seems unlikely. ARS has responded to the many negative Yelp reviews, with a suggestion that you call corporate customer relations. "If you prefer, you may call Corporate Customer Relations at 866-803-0879." If you call that number, you get an ARS automated greeting, it rings through again, then hangs up on you. I tried it twice. Happened both time. Just what I expected to happen, actually. My view - All talk, no action. I used to sing the praises of ARS. They were on time, kept their appointments, and never overcharged. I no longer have any trust in ARS. Steer clear. UPDATE Number One ARS did finally show up that day. Hours late, then tried to overcharge me for the service. The service tech was polite and professional. ARS dropped the ball on him. When he told me the price and I told him I understood it was covered under the service plan, it took him about 30 minutes to get his supervisor to call him back. 30 minutes he spent sitting around, 30 minutes before he could get to work. Which meant that for a service call scheduled for 11-3, the technician did not leave my house until about 6:45pm So, for a 11-3 appoint set because ARS totally screwed up the first two appointments - they did not show up anywhere near the promised time, failed to give honest assessments of time, and failed to promptly respond to the service tech's calls for assistance to his supervisor. As I expected, ARS has posted their standard response here. They have my contact information in their computer system. No one has called. I tried to call the corporate customer relations phone number. AND WAS HUNG UP ON. TWICE. I posted a message to ARS via the Corporate website. No response. In addition to their appalling problem about keeping appointments, the service calls for annual maintenance are hard sell sales pitches. Which explains why ARS is annoyingly persistent about calling to schedule the annual furnace inspection, etc. As in multiple calls in one day. If you don't answer the phone, the automatic dialer keeps your number in the rotation and they KEEP CALLING OVER AND OVER AND OVER. UPDATE - Number Two ARS often posts a stock response to a poor Yelp review. As reported above, I called the corporate customer relations phone number listed in their response to my review. I was hung up on before I could even talk to anyone. TWICE. I messaged Corporate, via the ARS customer relations web-form for customer service feedback. No response. I sent a direct yelp message to ARS in response their comment on my Yelp review. In that message I left my contact information - no response. Don't be fooled by their positive sounding responses to poor reviews. All talk, no action. My opinion - steer clear of ARS at all costs. read more

I have been using them to do semi annual checks on A/C and furnace. They came out the other day for A/C. Mind you, my AC was working just fine at the outside unit. All of a sudden, I walk out and they tell me my capacitor is weak and in danger of failing. Now remember, it had been turned on for him to check it. Everything is fine. The minute I walk out to see what they re doing, he tells me my capacitor needs replacing. He shows me the reading. It was reading 43. this unit is only 4 years old. I ask how much it will cost me,,,,,,$300.00!!!!!!! I asked him if I can just pick up the part at home depot or lowes. He says I doubt it without a license. Before I can say yes or no, he puts a new capacitor in. He says he will talk to his boss about a lower price. While he is back out in the truck, I look up the price. 14.95!!!!!! I looked on you tube and could have put in in myself in less than 5 minutes. He got the price down to 175.00 Oh goody. He came back with the paper work and I went totally ballistic. I told him that is the LAST time I will ever buy another part from them. I called ARS and told them what happened. I am on their maintenance plan, but I told the woman that I no longer was going to do business with them and to take me off the auto renewal. She said she would have a manager call me. Right.....have heard nothing. I think he did something to make it not work in order to upsell me something I really didn't need. He also brought me a hard start kit which was 400.00. I said no to that. It can be bought for 20.00 and installed by me in about 10 minutes. I have been duped and I fell right in to it. I feel so stupid. And another thing....I have a large filter that I have to get into the attic to change because its' in the unit up there. They charged me 120.00 for the first filter. I looked on Amazon and got a package of 3 of the same kind for a total of 82.00 . NEVER AGAIN!! But what got me the most was he lied to me by telling me I couldn't get one without a license. Absolutely would not recommend. High pressure sales tactics, overpriced and unethical. My elderly mother contacted ARS when her AC quit working only because she had a contract for regular maintenance with the company. After inspecting, they recommended replacing not only the entire AC unit but the second unit as well since it might need replacement soon. They quoted just under $20,000 for both, wanted to have her sign the contract immediately, and begin work on the same day (obviously before she old change her mind). After telling her the price included a special seniors discount rate, no tax , and 2 years interest free to pay off, she trustingly signed. Conveniently, the warranty had recently expired on both units. 30 minutes later, When I found out she had done this, I immediately contacted ARS and put a stop to the contract. They said they had asked my mother if she needed to have a family member contacted before she signed, which is true, but my mother was convinced they were giving her a great price for much needed work, which was not true. Meanwhile, ARS already had people knocking on the door ready to begin the work. After getting recommendations from neighbors, we had another reputable AC company come over. They found the problem with the broken AC, no problems found with other AC and quoted $5,500 tops to repair all. ( ended up charging $5,000). This is $15,000 less than the "great deal" ARS was offering. We've since found out that ARS has a horrible reputation in the neighborhood. Many have had bad experiences with this company. You would be wise to avoid them unless you want to pay exorbitant prices for unnecessary work. And don' t let them near your trusting elderly family members or friends. read more

My downstairs AC was not working very well, but I will only be living here for 1 more week. I asked if he could do something to fix it for 1 week. Touting the "free camera inspection that normally costs $350" as a way of saying "sorry for the poor service" was a bad move though. It convinced me to avoid further contact. If they "normally" charge $350 for camera service then they have inflated prices. Am EXTREMELY disappointed at their customer service. Was quoted an 8-1 window to get a sink repaired, got a phone call @ 11 saying the plumbers got a late start due to "paperwork" and couldn't be told a new timeframe window. Called again at almost 3 and told that they couldn't guarantee they could even get to me today and I may have to be bumped to tomorrow. On top of that I was told if bumped to tomorrow they couldn't even guarantee a morning time slot. read more

For the first time, I felt compelled to write a review on the horrible experience I had with Cindy Roesler, an upper management level employee at ARS Rescue Rooter. My first impression with this company was when comfort advisor, Scot Watson, came to my home to examine our a/c unit. My sister and I were upset that our a/c unit required a full replacement and Scot did an awesome job at explaining everything and calming us down; we in turn decided to purchase the a/c unit with ARS Rescue Rooter North Houston division. The only problem was that they couldn't install until the next day, so Scot received the okay to provide us with two window units for our 2800 square foot home. What occurred next was horrible. We only received one of the two window units promised to us, and as a home with 4 bedrooms, it was already an inconvenience for us to only have 2 units to use but we agreed. Scot was then yelled at by Cindy when he contacted her following up on the 2nd unit. In turn Cindy Roesler, an actual service manager, contacted me via my cell phone and loudly yelled at me "Look! Do you want the unit you have or not! I can take that unit to someone who will appreciate it!" I calmly explained we were promised 2 units to help us with the extreme heat until our new a/c unit was installed the next day. Cindy's response to my comment was "I'm coming to your da*n house now to get the unit since you don't want it!" I then asked what was the matter with her and was this the negative attitude ARS provided to new customers?! She only proceeded to yell and scream at me. To say I was appalled is an understatement! I have never been not only yelled at but threatened (she stated more than once she would be showing up at my home) before in my life! How can a woman of this low caliber be a service manager?! Kudos again to comfort advisor Scot Watson, who profusely apologized to me and asked that I don't cancel my full order. He actually used his own funds and went to Home Depot, and came to my home to install the second unit that I was promised. This is the type of customer service that Cindy should have shown. The next day the group of men who installed my new a/c unit actually didn't seem surprised when I told them of Cindy Roesler's action and some stated they "were not surprised." How in the world can this despicable woman still have an upper management position at this company? Outside of her, I would recommend using ARS Rescue Rooter; however, if Cindy Roesler is your assigned service manage, run fast to another company! read more

I had issue and the warranty company had to send ARS Rescue Rooter plumber to fix the problem. Everything had to be covered by the company. Firstly, the plumber they have sent to our house was absolutely rude to me and my wife as soon as he entered the house. Secondly, he went to the attic and by looking at the wrong item (I figured this out from his invoice later) he demanded the payments (yes, did not ask, demanded). When I told him that I have to clear it with warranty company he became even a little aggressive and told my wife he has nothing to do here and left house. The plumber name is Juan Bucio (from his invoice). Please take this as a warning and avoid this company as much as you can. Right now, I would prefer to pay more but have someone who would explain what is the problem. I have two engineering degrees and I can understand all details. Called ARS to come check out my 9 yr old AC units. After I get over the sticker shock of the $20K he says I need to spend to replace upstairs and downstairs unit I tell the guy I'll get a second opinion, thank you. He then tells me he can recharge the downstairs with R22 for $850. Again, I'm floored. So I call Polar Express, guy comes out and charges me up with refrigerant for $250 and unit is cooling agan. Now, this is a roll of the dice since I've not fixed the leak and maybe my units are about to throw in the towel but $850 for recharging my system?!?! When another company will do it for $250? This isn't the first time I've had ARS to the house but will likely be the last. read more

I bought a water heater from Home Depot. They use ARS. I scheduled and appointment for 9-1pm. They called at 10 and said they were busy and would be late. They called back at 13:30 and said I was next. I called at 14:30 and asked if they would get it today and they said yes. They called the at 15:30 and said somebody was coming. He showed at 16:30 and gave me an estimate of $1200, but wanted to come back first thing in morning. I called at 9:47 and asked if they were coming. They said yes. When guy showed up at 11:30, I asked when he got the job, he said 9:47. They had forgotten me. It took 2 hrs and charged $1200. ARS never again! read more

I had a Clifford come over for a heater check up, it was working fine that morning. He shows up, doesn't introduce himself and asks me what's wrong with the system....I tell him nothing, this is just a tune up/checkup. He goes in my attic and asks me when was the last time I used it, I tell him this morning...he says it's not working, so I check my heater, and sure enough, it's no longer working.....hmmmmmm....but I can't prove anything, I give him the benefit of the doubt, he goes back up, tells me it'll be around 500 dollars to fix it, now, granted, my system is old, but as I'm talking to him, he keeps on breathing heavy as if I'm bugging him, he tells me he recommends someone to come over to give me a quote about replacing the entire furnace, I tell him no as I already know what I'm looking at if I do replace it....he keeps breathing heavy and tells me he'll get the paperwork ready....he then comes back and charges more than what was quoted....so I tell him I will not pay that amount but was what was quoted, he keeps on breathing heavy lol, but does fix the price....I made a mistake and will cancel the other appointment I made about my hot water flushing "special" with ARS, terrible I called to cancel the appointment, I told them about my service and the gentleman here, all they could say was, sorry about your bad experience......will never recommend ARS read more

This business has no reliability or accountability for its service and does not care. Do not expect them to call or show up or even do what they say they will do. If you want examples, happy to share after a rather disappointing and frustrating (and costly) full HVAC replacement. They've struck out FOUR times already during this single engagement with them and unfortunately it's still not over because they have to come back and fix the AC that wasn't installed properly (per required city inspector). Suggest using a smaller more personable company where the workers have skin in the game and care about their work. read more

I called ARS because I had a clogged drain. They charged me $150 to clear it, but they werer not able to get it after spend several hours working on it. They told me that they would need to come back out the next day and run a camera to find out what was going on (another $300). When they ran the camera, I was informed that I had a collapsed sewer line and it would cost $1,900 (5' of pipe) to fix just the problem area. He then tried to tell me that it would be better to replace the entire sewer line for $5,000. He then proceeded to get on the phone with his "boss" and was able to knock the price down to $4,000 because I was such a "good guy". For some reason I got the impression I was being scammed, so I called another plumber out to get a second opinion. This plumber was able to clear the clog in 15 minutes. They said there was no collapsed sewer line at all. After nearly a week of talking with ARS, I was finally able to get my $450 back. Even after I gave them a copy of the invoice from the new plumber stating that there was just a clog and no collapsed line, ARS still wanted to send out a plumber to re-camera the line to prove that they gave me a misdiagnosis. Needless to say, I would never use this company again. read more

Do not waste your time with this company! I have used them once for a plumbing estimate and attempted to use for the actual plumbing service and electrical estimate and was very disappointed by their lack of professionalism and realistic appointment times. They give the standard appointment period of 4 hours, however they never showed up or called during the appointment time. I waited two hours after my scheduled time had completed to give them a call and was told that the service guy was out to lunch (both times). The electrician never showed up at all on the day scheduled so I canceled that estimate. Speaking to customer service was an even more pain because they were full of no answers and could only tell me that they were unable to help give me a better estimated time and that I had to wait because there were customers ahead of me. None of the customer service reps that I spoke to were eager to fix the problem either. I don't know about you, but I don't have ALL DAY to wait for a service that was supposed to happen between my allotted appointment time. Also, insteading of getting the service guy there asap after I called (two hours after the stop time of my scheduled appointment) I was told that they would reschedule me for the next day! UNBELIEVABLE. Don't waste your money on a company that doesn't care about its customers (all customer service personnel were rude, unsympathetic, and unhelpful) or their time since they give you bogus appointment times. I would not recommend them at all! Also, the estimate that I did received was incredibly overpriced, and that was with the "discount" that magically appeared once I questioned the high price. read more

As of December 14th or so, ARS has issued a 10% credit because of the mess that was left behind. The corporate office was courteous and prompt when dealing with our complaint. The overall star rating has been increased from 1 to 3 because of their responsiveness and reasonable credit. We consider this matter closed. read more

Company was called out to repair water heater for my neighbor. Walter arrived and backed his truck, jumped a curb and ran into my mailbox. Luckily, I was home to see entire incident. When I asked his what happened he said, oh, I wondered why my truck wouldn't go. Something was stopping me." I immediately, called the corporate relations department in TN and spoke with Keila. She stated that they would look into it and give me a call back. I called the local office and conferences called Keila since they were pointing fingers at each other. The representative at the Houston office was like, it's just a mailbox. I explained it was my property and it's the principal of the situation. Keila, stayed that since it was a corporate issue become I called corporate first. We hung up, Keila called back a few days later and stated that the contractor would call to schedule appointment. I agreed! One week later, no one has reached out! I called yesterday to check on status and was told your case is closed!! Closed, how??? Not one manager has reached out! Not an apology! I have a maintenance plan with ARS. One of the selling points was priority service appointments. I called the other day to schedule an appointment for today. I was told the first available appointment would be between 1 and 5 today Friday. No problem. At 2:25 I received a call saying it would be closer to between 3 & 5. At 4:52 I called and was told I was next but could not be given a time. Here it is 5:41 it is 95 degrees in my house and I have to leave at 6:30 for a 7:00 appointment. SCAM ALERT!!! I had a drainage issue and had this company come out to assess the problem. A plumber named "Angel" came out and could not locate my main clean-out so he used a "hydro jet" and went through my sink clean-out. He cleared the backup and gave me a verbal and written 90 day warranty. If the problem occurred again within 90 days, he would come out and clear the line again, "no problem" is what he said. The following day, a supervisor with ARS Rescue Rooter Houston came out with a camera and told me my house does not have a clean and that it would be $2,500 for them just to install a clean-out! (This is where the scam begins) 5 days later, the main drain backed up again so I called them back out. "Angel" came back out and as he was about to clear the line again, the supervisor who came out and gave me to $2500 estimate for the clean-out showed up. He told Angel to not clear the backup because I need them to install the cleanout for $2500. I told them I will call around for other estimates because $2500 seemed high. The supervisor got an attitude and told me no company will beat his price. They both left without honoring the 90 day warranty and leaving me with a backed up sewage system. Later that day, another plumber came out and immediately located the clean-out leading me to believe that ARS rescue rooter knew where the cleanout was and they were just trying to scam me out of $2500. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

Repair persons never show up during the "window", which is four hours. They also hire inexperienced people to service air conditionars during the summer. Ours was fine till we had a tune up as part of our service package. This led to us having no ac for a week. The technition forgot to turn off the frion valve, our ac iced over and then they told us we had a leak and tried to charge us for it. read more

David installed two toilets for us and was the best! He brought his tools, replaced the toilets and took them (and all of their boxes) away. He was very professional, went right about his work and was gone! He did a great job and we will use ARS again in the future. read more

Our local Home Depot referred Rescue Rooter to do tune-up on our 5 Tons Air Conditioner unit for $78 dollars. When the technicians from ARS arrived they inpected the outside and inside unit but did no service to it. The "Tune-Up Service" consisted of physically inspecting the unit. After completing their inspection they created a report recommending cleaning the inside and outside coils, replacing the capacitors inside and outside, replace the pan and other miscelanious for a total of $3740 dollars. They explained that because the unit is 10 years old, it has reached the end of life and that if they cleaned the coils it could start leaking coolant. The proper thing to do is to replace both units, and this is when things went south... I asked them for a quote and they asked me if I am ready to do this today and told me they could not tell me a price because "prices change daily". I asked for a written quote sent to my email to examine and I will get back to them. After about 5 minutes they knocked on my door and told me that I could save $2k by ordering today (still no price). After pushing for the price they said $11k and I told them there is no way I can put that much together in less than a couple of weeks. Next thing they dropped to $10K and soon to $9.8. Upset about this I told them I could not do that much without looking at the quote, the person coaching them on the phone said "I will call you right back". He did so in 1 minute and said they could do it for $8.5K. I asked to see the quote to which he replied, "when you are ready call us back". I paid $78 dollars for them to sell me an AC and did not even get a written quote. read more

Horrible customer service and unreliable company. We came across a sales rep at a Home Depot and tried to set an appointment with him. He was very polite but when he called in to the dispatcher Lola or Lolo and she had a difficult time understanding him. He spelled our last name twice and my husband told her the name on the third time but she still didn't get it. After that when the sales rep gave it to her a fourth time, she became rude and yelled thank you and then hung up! He was embarrassed by her lack of professionalism and apologized and told us he would make sure we got scheduled. I was called after that to schedule and I tried to let them have another chance so I scheduled for a Monday afternoon. I get another call a couple of days later to schedule and I let them know that I had already been scheduled for the upcoming Monday, the lady was confused but said ok. However, Monday comes around and no one shows up. Then a few days later someone calls to schedule me again!! They had no idea that I had already been scheduled and that they were a no-show. This company is a mess. If they can't get it together to even schedule an estimate there is NO way I would trust them to get any work done. read more

Hired them as plumbers to help us with get Gas services turned on a property within city limits, so we needed a permit. Over $3,600 dollars and 13 days later, we still have no permit. We ever received a call back from them, I had to call them for updates, they missed not only 1 but 2 City of Houston Inspections! Just plan ridicules. We turned to their Corporate Office for help and even that was not helpful. Save your money folks, this company will just take your money and stress you out!!! read more

They started out fine. Dependable. Then their quality went down, way down due to this last visit. They installed a new AC unit, compressor and coil, but it did not pass city inspection. The problem was a small leak in a line and an AC vent touching a wooden support in the attic. After a week and a half, problems still not fixed. They keep sending people out who are not qualified to fix these repairs or who were told that the AC is not cooling. I have cancelled all my maintenance contracts with them. read more

Now I don't normally give reviews because everyone is asking for one. But this is a special case. In my situation, I had a water heater go out and was leaking. Went to Home Depot and ordered one with install. ARS was the contracted installer whom I have never used before. However, Home Depot said the water heater ordered was a special order although their online said they had units available. It would take 30 days to arrive (STRIKE 1). ARS found another unit that fell within their contract with Home Depot. A very genial gentleman, I'm hesitant to display his name on this media site but the completed install was Aug 15 in 77064 zip code so ARS knows who this is. But water heater didn't work (STRIKE 2). I was very irritated and upset, but the installer did not lose his cool even when I said Home Depot had another unit on their shelves. He was pretty sure they did not but said he would go to Home Depot to look with me. Of course, I was wrong, but still this gentleman installer did not lose his cool with me and said he would contact home base for another unit. He called me later that day with another unit and came later that day even though he had other installs to complete the install. Now I have hot water. What was stupendous about this installer was his demeanor. He remained calm, reassuring, confident and never lost his temper or calm even though I was being a jack ass. For that alone he deserves a rating of A+++++. And yes, I means five +. Even though problems usually come in 3's, I avoided that third strike. Kudos go to that installer. read more

Gas to our house had been cut off for about six months while we were doing post Harvey repairs. When we turned gas back on we could get pilot to light so we called to see about getting it fixed. "Repair technician" shows up in polo shirt and pants, ask what was the problem we told him we have tried several time to light it but with no success He looks and without trying to light it or actually touch it he tells us we need a new one. Then tells us it will be over $2500 because our is out of code. I said date code on it says it's five years old and ARS sticker seems to imply you guys installed it. Well he says code change pretty often and we are going to bring it up to code. Then he starts in with telling use we need a whole house water softener for $4000 that is maintenance free and doesn't use salt. How he thought we needed this is also unknown since once again he never actually touched anything other than his little clipboard. When we seem to balk at the price of water heater he then went into instant hot water heater system. The service call we hoped to get was nothing more than a sales call so ARS was just a big waste of our time. read more

I would give zero stars if that were an option. Had a tech named Ever come into my home today to check out an issue with our AC unit. Well, he completely trashed our attic. My husband & I go into our attic often. We use it as extra storage since our house isn't too large. Everything has a place up there. Ever knocked things over into open insulation, some items were on the opposite side of the attic from where they belong (as if thrown). Totes full of keepsakes knocked over and spilled over into loose insulation and he didn't say a word.... He even left a mess of insulation in my hallway without letting me know. I have a toddler.. what if he would have found all that insulation on the floor before I did? Basically paid $100 to have him come into my home, trash my attic, leave a hazard for my child and give us an outrageous quote. He didn't even put the AC unit in the attic back together. My husband is currently cleaning our attic up and putting the unit back together. It's safe to say that we won't be using this company ever again. read more

I've used ARS on my A/C for many years and had them replace the ducting in my 2 story home. That crew was excellent. I was sold on these guys to come out and fix anything when it came to my A/C. With the ecomony taking a dive,it seems this company are trying to sell more than necessary. My upper A/C was not blowing cold air so I had a sales guy come in to find the issue. He said I had a bad evaporator and a stuck compressor and it was going to cost $9000 to replace. I commented that replacing A/Cs in the past used to cost around $5000, why so much now? His reply was a bigger unit and higher SEER rating, Hmmm....... When I told him to pack it up and I'm going to get a second opinion. I asked why not replace the old evaporator coil and recharge the system? I know that the compressor was not running without freon for any length of time and I immediately shutdown that unit and called for service the next day. He called into his office and after a short discussion, agreed to do this. A replacement evaporator coil and a $500 hard start capacitor kit and I was back up and running. The job took about 5 hours to complete and the crew left at around 7pm. Price was acceptable, at around $3000, it was a good day. But checking the crew's work was the surprising thing. Up in the attic, I have Aprilaire filters,the kind that you slide out and replace the pleated sheets, high efficient stuff. I check them every 6 months. I noticed the volume of air for the downstairs does not blow as hard and there is dust particles in places I never see before. So I go up to check the filters.. The one unit, not the one worked on, which is on the other side of the attic and you have to creep around some of the support brackets to get to had the cover of the April Aire filter housing missing the large cover. I found it laying 3 feet off to the side on the blown in insulation. Not likely to have fallen off as these are positioned in a slot on the housing and a flexible catch secures the cover. Someone in my attic took it off. Two things come to mind. sabotage the system by creating dirt to clog the evaporator coil (future big expense job) or someone was hot and wanted to cool off while crew was putting together the other unit. There was at least 3 people in the attic and I know it can get crowded up there. My suggestion, follow up on any crew's work and look around your attic for anything out of place. BTW, the exhaust pipe for my gas water heater was not over the part that is on the top of the heater. Carbon dioxide can build in the attic and bad things can happen. This is right next to the attic stairs so I like to makes sure the lights are off and certain things are not messed with. I am hesitant to using ARS again as management needs to reevaluate their staff or start to loose more business. read more

I will let you as a reader decide if you want to use ARS. I had a brand new heating system installed in 2017 by ARS. I just had my fall inspection on the same unit just inspected by ARS ( Oct 2018) and when the tech was done with the inspection, he spent twenty minutes writing up his findings. He handed me THREE FULL PAGES (small print and one page full of several diagrams) as to what he suggested that I needed to have done to repair with my NEW heating system they installed last year. The tech told me that if I want to go forward with his recommendations too please contact him. There is NOWAY I will ever use ARS services again! read more

Wish I had read the reviews before dealing with this company. I had someone else lined up to come out, but a rep from ARS called and offered me a great deal. Tech never showed up. I called and was told someone would call me right back. Still nothing. We sat in our miserably hot house all day for nothing. Now I have to start all over again to try and get an appointment with someone else. The service was recommended through Home Depot.. they will be hearing from me as well. I will make sure no one in my area ever makes this mistake. read more

Ridiculous! we called ARS for a seasonal A/c service, We had no problems at the time . however the technician did find a bad capacitor which he showed us. He wanted to charge us $350 for a $20 capacitor and $250 for a hard start kit. I have prior A/C service experience and I can install this part in 10 minutes. I guess these guys believe all consumers are ignorant. B E W A R E ! read more

After the first appointment no-show, I rescheduled for the following day. Simple slow drain in my kitchen. Guy comes out looks at my clean out and say $215. I respond "No. I got a coupon that says $69" He grunts and says "Oh. OK." So he proceeds to start snaking my kitchen drain and tells me to run the hot water. So I run the hot water and water starts pouring into my kitchen!!! This has never happened before. I yell and he stops and tells me I have a broken pipe! Another truck shows up with a camera and they run a line about 2 inches into the drain and tell me yea my pipe is broke. It must have broke a while back because some bricks are stained. He's willing to cut me a deal and fix it for $3000. I tell them no thanks and panic. Another plumber comes out the next day and surveys the problem. He asks if I tried snaking the drain myself and tell him no ARS came out. He tells me well they must have broke your pipe. He fixes it for $400. I should sue those wacks. read more
