Very poor service. Called on a Saturday evening (6PM) to arrange 'emergency' plumbing service for a clogged drain used for the AC line. Was told it was an addl $150 but would have someone out within the hour. I called at 7PM and 8PM for an update and was told the Houston call center could only send a message to the dispatcher. UNPROFESSIONAL, ATTITUDE, AND WASTE OF MONEY. Trust through HomeDepot for heater repair service from ARS, first visited for tune up and found the problem of 2 years old furnace can't fire up the ignition, then a week later for 2nd visited for technical repair & charged with $109 in Dallas, Texas area. Technician name tag "Paul" came with unfriendly attitude, diagnose heater problem like 10 mins (don't see any tools, tool bag carry along with him) and judge the circuit board has been fried with throwing "A Bunch of ERROR codes" ??? without explaining the reason of issue and issue location. this will cost another ~ $500-600 labor to fix with part warranty. There is a loop hole scam that I aware from this guy, which I have hired different heater professional that found the issue of defected limited relay sensor module(nothing to do with the fried circuit board) and fixed within 2 days. So I just paid this unprofessional ARS guy for nothing and there is no receipt proof after I paid in cash as well. read more

Day One made a appt for when I get off - they setup 4pm-6pm with a 45min on the way call, after rushing to home to be available for appt, I never got the 45min window call, so called them at 3:15pm and was told they were on their way, than 15mins past and get a call back stating that the tech said it was too late and he was going home (mind you, its literally 3:15pm CST) and they knew I was not available until after 3pm (very unprofessional) Day Two - had someone at home for early appt - they come out and quote was 920 dollars over other companies and I said you know your quote is inflated and he literally said "I know, we're not the cheapest and then he tries to up sale why" he spoke like he was doing me a favor....... I called ARS for an emergency visit on a Sunday, as my AC had stopped working in 100 degree weather. The tech found that the contactor and capacitor were blown and he had spares to replace them. He gave me the quote, and when I asked how much of a mark up he was charging compared to the market price, he couldn't say. I gave him the go ahead to put the parts in, but grabbed my phone to Google the parts. Turns out, he was trying to charge me $660 for 2 parts that cost $30 at Home Depot. Recap: I hired ARS Rescue Rooter for work to be done on Sunday since I was unable to use water due to sewage backup. They lied/ignored me until after 9pm then said they wouldn't be out to do anything. They came out and it took 2 days to diagnose my issue. Tuesday at 3pm I canceled any work to be done the next day. They showed up anyway, and started working without letting me know they were there. I went outside and let them know that I canceled the day before and they said they didn't hear anything. I canceled the contract with a manger and I feel they are now overcharging me for work they started doing that day. Do not hire ARS Plumbing they will lie to you and when you cancel they will try to fleece you. I hired a different company that quoted the same work to be done for $4,500 as opposed to the $9,850 that ARS is charging. Find any other company. Their management didn't care, their dispatch didn't care, the only people that were respectful were their call center associates. Details: My parents were in town and they used my house and noticed that the toilet was draining slowly and then noticed that the sewage was backing up into the master shower right, that drain being the last drain before leaving the house to the outside sewage pipes. After running a snake and using drain-o, the issue was determined not to be within the house. Opening the outlet (or cleanout) cap located outside the house, sewage gushed out showing that it wasn't draining to the city sewage line. Since the issue was outside the house we found ARS Rescue Rooter online and called. They said they would be out that day. Calls started around 1pm on Sunday requesting service Original Appointment was set from 4-6pm Sunday Sunday 5:27p Gabriel (dispatcher) called me to tell me that one tech was sick and one tech got into an accident asking if he could reschedule for Tuesday. I let him know that I couldn't use my toilet or shower and had to work the next day, I had to have service, and I asked what time could they be out. He relented and said they would be there during the 8p hour. Sunday 7:57p I called to get an update, since I had no contact, the call center said they couldn't get a hold of a dispatcher but they would send them a message requesting a call back. Sunday 9:11p I called to check on service and the call center said they would have a dispatcher call me. The dispatcher said that she couldn't get reach the tech on-call and no one would be out that evening. She let me know that she has escalated the issue to the management level and a manager would call me Monday Morning. No manager called Monday or Tuesday. Monday 11:28a I called again to request service to get someone out to my house in order to fix the issue since I could not use the toilet or shower Monday 12:02p I received a message that a technician was on his way and he arrived soon after. During his visit he tried to see if he could flush out the pipe, but found dirt and roots when he tried to 'snake' the drain. He tried to run a camera to find where the issue is, but his camera was broken. He was able to get the pipe working enough to not back up into my house. He let me know that another technician would be out on Tuesday to finish the camera work to find the issues. Tuesday 8:46a The dispatcher called to confirm that someone would be coming out the same day, which I confirmed Tuesday 9:52a technician arrived and started work on getting camera work to find the issue. Tuesday 10:49a technician finished work and let me know what was happening. Found 3 compromised portions of the sewage drain, but couldn't get past the last block due to the almost full collapse. quoted me $9,850 to 1.) Replace main building sewer between house and property line up to forty foot by pipe bursting, and/or open trench. Includes New double cleanouts near house with two risers and 2.) Locate and repair water leak in front yard, pull permit with city for inspection. I signed and agreed to have the work done and paid half down: $4,925. They planned to start work Tuesday morning sometime. No confirmation sent to me. Tuesday 2:30p I contact a second company and they quote me $4,500 total for the same work to be done Tuesday 2:48p I contact ARS and let them know I want to move reschedule work to be done to October 11, while I figure out logistics and to cancel the work to be done on Wednesday. Wednesday 8:19a Gabriel called and asked me if I had rescheduled the work. I said yes I had rescheduled and to cancel the contract completely, he hangs up. Wednesday 8:30a I found the ARS Plumbing team on my lawn starting work. I told them I had canceled the work today and had canceled the contract this morning. They had already begun doing work and had started marking the yard with spray paint. We needed our main line cleared. ARS's website shows $99 but the rep wouldn't confirm the price when we made the appt. Quoted $317 when they arrived without even looking at the issue. Told them no, so he dropped the price to $150. I agreed because we needed the work done. A week later, the line is already stopped up again, which means he didn't clear it properly the first time. They want to charge again stating the reduced price negated any warranty. Funny, he didn't say that the first time. I've never had a plumber that didn't warranty their work for at least 90 days. This place is corrupt!! No urgency what so ever when having a real emergency. They never come on time within their timeframe. Tony showed up the morning of march 24th to fix a leak in the wall which had water flooded in my middle bedroom. He cut a hole in the wall but for some reason he couldn't finish. He says, " someone will be here between 12-4. My water is still cut off because the actual pipe hasn't been fixed yet. So finally Scott shows up around 3 and he does some welding to fix the problem. He currently doesn't charge that day because we agreed he'd come that following Monday to repair the sink and tub drain as well. So he said it would be around $1489 which is a rediculous amount of money for little work. I decided to get my home owners insurance involved because this is pretty expensive and it should cover the damage and repairs. I cancelled my appointment with Scott and he told me I still owe $550 for the leak fixure. Their is still a hole in my wall you never patched back on. So at this point they're reporting that I owe $1489 to a dept collector all a sudden since I haven't paid them yet. But Scott never did $1489 worth of work YET?! I'm shocked they actually did this ! They called me on the 23rd right before 2pm telling me that the tech should be there soon. 4:20pm still nobody: I call and I am told that he's en route. I receive an email "Meet the team". We set up an appointment today for them to come out and unclog our washer drain. I am not sure if their in home service is good, but their customer service is awful. They set the appointment for 12pm. I was on the phone with a client when they called and left a message saying they were on their way. They called again to confirm I was home about 1 minute later. Again I am still on the phone with a client, so I text the phone number and say I am here I am on the phone with the client. I call their office 9 minutes later say "hey sorry I was on the phone with a client, is the tech on their way?" they told me no, they cancelled the appointment because I didn't answer their phone call. Mind you they called me over an hour before my scheduled appointment time, and I called them back within 10 minutes. Hey sometimes things happen, I ask if there is something they can do. The lady on the phone who was rude, and short, said I guess I can put you back on the roster for today, they will call you 30 minutes before they get there. 5pm rolls around and no one has come. I call back in and speak with another person. The only notes on my account were that they called and I didn't answer. Nothing about a new appointment, or putting me back on the roster, just that I didn't answer. I should have taken the insanely low yelp reviews for what they were, the truth. I would advice against people using this service or this company because of how poor their customer service is. The tech was sent out from our furnace manufacturer. We are dependent solely on social security and told them that we had no extra money. The tech told us it was the control board which was still under warranty and wouldn't cost anything; however he said labor to replace it would be $800.00. Labor of $800 to take 10 minutes to plug in a control board??? We told him there was no way we could afford it so he charged us $109 for a service call. As I said we get by on SS and ended up having to post date a check because we had to wait for our funds to get to the bank before the check could clear. These people are scammers because they never told us we would have to pay a service call. As I said we were under a warranty because our furnace was only installed 4 years ago and should have a 10 year warranty. They didn't even bother sending us a receipt even though I specificaply asked for one. I won't recommend this company to anyone. If I could have given zero stars I would have. I purchased a Solar attic fan from ARS in January, and it has never worked. I paid $1,600 for it. No one will even come out to look at it. They have set 2 or 3 appointments, but never show up, and never call. I have now talked to almost a dozen people, and they tell me different things. Wish I would have seen the reviews prior to hiring for the job. 750 to unclog an under ground drain from a downspout. Approximately 10 feet of underground piping that was clogged with dirt with hydrojet water. Unbelievable! That price what plumbers would charge for emergency service. Ridiculous. Appreciate the competency, but what a shock! They did mention the 69 dollar trip charge up front. How about mentioning the approximate price to unclog a drain pipe up front. I just had a drain stopper repaired and the technician trashed my bathroom. Gunk was everywhere. Then he used the toilet and got junk all over it as well. Ruined the trash can as well. I called ARS because I believed them to has some integrity. I am learning that integrity is not a character trait of this company. I had a plumber from ARS come out he found the leak and quoted me a price to cut out some pipe and reseal it. Me being desperate to stop the water leaking behind my walls I agreed that to have him cut out the pipe and seal it. When he came in the house after saying let me go get my supplies i noticed he did not have any pipe with him just what appeared to be some type of glue. I stopped him and said wait you just gonna glue it? He responded agon telling me he was gonna cut out some pipe and seal it. Five minutes later he come out of my utility room and says he done. I noticed he did not have the old cut pipe with him so i assumed it was in my utility room. Well guess what no pipe. I inquires with him and notice his reply in the pictures above. I then called ARS and a manager came out, i explained to him that the job I agreed to have done was not done he then goes to tell me something about sealing coupling. However that is not what I agreed to pay for. At one point the manager tells me that he does not know about pricing and has nothing to do with pricing and 5 min later he tells me that that is the price I paid is the starting price for spot repair. . ARS promotes respecting your home by wearing ahoe covers and protecting your floor. The plumber that came to my home never put on shoe covers and look at the floor wear he smeared stuff on my floor and left it behind my washer for me to clean. When i brought this to the attention of the manager he said he had nothing to do with that and he would have a talk to the plumber because his job is to come out and take pictures, never once did he apologize. He did tell me what I needed to buy to fix it. He was professional and respectful of our property. Wore booties and kept things clean. I contacted ARS to fix the water shutoff valve by the house. The evening before, I shut the water off to replace a faucet valve and when I went to turn it back on, it broke. It was broke in the off position! I explained the issue in detail, but they said they needed to see before they could comment. I totally get that, but I have a point about it later. They also explained that there would be a $50 service call that would be waved if they could not fix the issue. I agreed to the terms and they sent someone out. Earlier that morning, before I decided to call them, I dug out the area to expose the pipes going into the house and the pipe coming from the street. There was about 1.5 feet of exposed pipe in both directions. I also dug deep enough to have some working room under the pipes. Initially, I was going to try to fix it myself, but I am not very good at soldering plumbing. When the plumber got to the house, I showed him the issue and he started to try to fix the valve in place. I would have been super happy if he could have fixed it there! When he needed the water off at the street, I turned it off, when he wanted it back on for a test, I did that too. I helped as much as I could, but stayed out of his way. About 20 minutes into checking, he determined that he would need to replace the entire valve. I asked how much that would cost, and he said "you're looking at around $900." I was taken back a bit, but I needed the water back on, so was probably going to agree. He stepped away for a bit and came back with a quote for $1,300! He said they'd send a crew in the next day or two, so they weren't even going to do it right then. I said, "A crew? I already dug it all out. Why so much?" He said, "I don't make the prices man." I just stood there for a moment and politely declined. He said, "Well, you still have to pay the service fee," which I paid. So, why two stars? Because, it would have been nice if the guy on the phone would have warned me that if they needed to replace the valve, it would be over a grand! To me, it seems like they know that people will turn that offer down, but it is an easy $50. I mean the guy did try to fix the valve, so that's where the 1 extra star comes from. If he hadn't tried so hard, this company would get 1 start. I ended up calling a friend of a friend that is a certified plumber, working towards his master plumber (not exactly sure what the proper terms are). He came out that evening and replaced everything for $450. He said a lot of the big companies will charge a lot for issues they know a home owner absolutely has to have fixed. Like not having water. Maybe these guys do a good job on gigs they actually work on, but looking through these reviews, that seems unlikely. The $99 drain cleanout fee they list online is for the outside cleanout only, once they walk in your front door it goes up to $400 plus the $69.99 show up fee. The tech was great, did a nice job. I had already cleaned out under the sink and prepped the area because I knew he was going to have to enter there. It took him about 1 additional minute to lay down a little mat and undo the pipes so he could feed the auger in. And for that 1 extra minute of work the fee was $301... I think doubling the price from $99 to $200 is somewhat fair because there are unknowns once you get in the house, but $400 is ridiculous. Problem was solved and he was gone in an hour. Made an appointment and was given a 2 hour wait time between 12-2:00 and then they called and said they are running behind and will be an hour late and then called an hour later to reschedule for next day. Next day plumber showed up and found where the clogged drain was located and would need to send another plumber out the next day to finish the job. I was charged on the agreed contract price and was surprised to see another additional charge for usage of camera which was suppose to be included in contract price which i feel like was an over charged amount already. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! My husband and I just purchased a home in Grand Prairie. After our first night in the house, we noticed the shower wasn't draining as it was supposed to which then caused the toilet to be out of service for about 20 minutes after you shower. We contacted ARS Rescue Rooter on a Saturday. The tech was supposed to show up between 4-8 PM. Ramauldo showed up at 6:30 in his company vehicle but in regular street clothes. Comes in to discuss our issue then proceeds to tell us he will have to come back in the morning to cable and camera the lines for us. He arrives an hour and a half later than his appointment time which was 7am. Again out of uniform. He then proceeds to ask us if he could use a 5 gallon bucket and paper towels. The quote we received was $770!!!! I'm sorry but if I'm paying you $770 you BETTER have your own bucket and paper towels!!!!! Ramauldo made a complete mess in the bathroom and didn't clean up after himself. After he left my husband and I were completely shocked with the amount we paid. My husband then proceeds to call to discuss if the price we paid was accurate on the following Monday. Since they claim they have set prices! As he was talking to the CSR, they stated that they would look into it and give us a call back. A week goes by and no word. My husband then calls them again. They tell us the receipt they're looking at only shows $660!!!! You could imagine our surprise when the yellow copy of our receipt showed $770! The CSR says she would pass this along to manager and they would contact us back. You guessed it! Another week passes and no call back!! He calls again this time asking to speak to a manager. He then speaks to Jamie W who confirms that they see our price as only being $660! He asks my husband to email copies of our receipt which shows $770 paid in cash. Jamie W tells my husband he will review and get back with us. And again, a week passes and no call back. This has been 3 weeks and still nothing has been resolved! Absolutely ridiculous!!! So what does my husband do, he calls them again. This time he talks to Jamie W who still cannot tell us why the price difference but has been given permission to grant us a partial refund. I guess this is their way of getting us to shut up and go away. All I know is we will NEVER use this company again nor will we EVER recommend them to anyone. Not a great experience, but I will say first off, they fixed the problem. So we start having the toilets draining very slowly and we know that it's a problem because about 5 years ago, we had the same problem and had to have our main drain cleaned. No big deal. The last company, a different one, of course, was able to snake our drain from the toilet that I had removed and it was pretty simple. They were in and out in about an hour. So I totally expected the same thing this time. We looked online and of course the "$88 drain cleaning" caught my eye and we called ARS. They wouldn't quote us over the phone, well, it's after hours on a weekend and this is their answering service beyond that. "What's the difference in cost if have them come out tonight (Saturday) or if they come out on Monday?" "That would be an additional $150." Okay, so it's worth living with a slow drain for two days until Monday. We schedule for Monday morning. First off, they'll give you a window of 8am-12pm. They then called at 8am and told me they'd be there in 30-45 minutes. Mike, the first guy arrived at 9am. Fine, I can believe that traffic isn't great, so no big deal. I had already left for work and The Wife took care of the visit. She said that Mike was not aware that he at one point stood uncomfortably close to her and she took a step back. He seemed to be pushing for an up-sell instead of just doing what we were asking for, "clean the drain," for $300, he was trying to convince us that we needed a clean-out installed at the tune of "I can't quote you the price." but when we asked "Over or under $1000?" He said over. Mike was knowledgeable but pushy. No thanks, just snake the drain. So then, he has to call in a different person, David, to do the work. What? Who thought this up? So The Wife waits around for another hour and he shows up and he gets on the roof (yup, ARS, for liability purposes, I'm sure, won't run the snake down the toilet. I get it, it just wasn't an issue the for the last company) and runs the snake down the vent 5 times and gets roots every time. This clearly means we have a lot of roots and David says that there's likely more roots but his snake is at it's limit. He suggests that we get a camera down there to see what's going on and to possibly locate a clean-out and it's free of charge. Great! That's awesome. Please send out the camera guy. We pay our $320 and our drains are working. David was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. So today 1/31, Darrell, the camera guy shows up at my door. He summarizes where we are and says that we should get a camera down there because at any moment, the main drain line could clog up again. Also, it would not be free of charge, it would be $300+ and because of the mistake, he could offer it to us for $100 off AND if the drain needed to be dug up and replaced, we could apply that $200+ to the repairs. He then says something about having to locate the drain before running the camera down which, now that I think about it, why would that need to be done? The location of the drain line doesn't have any bearing on looking for roots. Anyhow, I decline the camera inspection and Darrell tells me that he's been doing this for over 20 years and he'll probably be back because the drain would clog. "It's a $100 gamble. If it clogs tomorrow, I'll pay full price and I'll have to call you back." And he continues to tell me that he's seen it so many times. Well, yeah, but you haven't convinced me. How many times have you said the same thing and it didn't happen? Your anecdotal evidence is of no value to me. Especially when you're trying to sell me your services. He says okay and he gives me his card so I'll know who to call when my drain clogs again. Well, that's not necessary either. Definitely have had better, but am glad that everything is draining properly for now. Update: 8/8/2018 - drains are still clear. Don't even know where I put Darrell's card. read more

I don't even know where to start with how THANKFUL I feel for your company! I have a home warranty but could not get ANYONE on the phone to help with an emergency leak. After calling the city and having the water shut off I sat on hold for an hour with the warranty company with no answer. My parents suggested I contact ARS. I am SO glad I did! They came out immediately and George D. was so kind and professional! I am extremely impressed with the swiftness as to which he came to my house, diagnosed the problem and then made sure he could get someone out today so I could have the water on for my kids. To top it off, I was so shocked at the price. For an emergency plumbing service it was extremely reasonable. I will recommend you guys to everyone! Thank you for keeping this mom sane! ** I will update this review after the repairs are complete** :::UPDATE::: I have to say I am SUPER impressed!!!!! They sure did come right out and fix the broken pipe. The gentleman explained everything he did and why he did it. He told me the city would be out to ok the work. It was a situation where the builder just mickey moused my outside plumbing. I felt I was charged a reasonable price for the repairs and I am going to have them come back to replace my tub drain and toilet seal. Not only that, but he also told me that if I took the receipt of the plumbing bill to the city they would credit my water bill due to a major leak. I never knew that before. Thanks ARS!
