WOW - What an experience!!! I have never written a review - for any product - good or bad - but this experience demands that I do. Would you believe there are honorable plumbers left in existence? I didn't for more than one year! Yes, more than a year. Let me try to tell you my tale of frustration, exasperation and MORE!!! In December of 2015 all 14 of my brass fixtures in our Master bathroom; TUB - hot, cold and mixer fixtures, tub, faucet, tub lever and drain AND both bathroom sinks - 3 piece each, hot, cold and mixer and both sink drains - were discolored, chipping, oxidized and driving me crazy. I had been assured when I purchased all of the above from a major chain store, that it was top of the line American Standard polished brass. I contacted American Standard (sent pictures also) and was told that they no longer manufactured polished brass and that was that. The customer service person said that I could possibly find replacements through plumbers who knew where to purchase discontinued fixtures. They sent me a list of the SKU's of what I had purchased and said they could be of no further service. I then started on my journey. To make a really long story as short and clear as is possible I contacted a large plumbing group. They sent out a plumber who agreed, if "I would be patient", he knew where to get replacements and he would take care of it. After 3 additional phone calls to the Service Center over a period of 3 months, always being assured that it was really happening - I was then told that plumber was no longer with the company, but they knew about the problem and they would send out another plumber. They did and he told me if "I would be patient" he would take care of it. After 3 telephone calls to this plumber, even I, who was extremely patient (though, not too smart) called the Service Center and asked to speak to the head of Plumbing. A very nice young man told me that he was brand new and had inherited some problems, me being one of them and "if I would be patient" he would take of this. He didn't. Now more than a year had passed and my patience was worn thin. FRUSTRATION was a mild word to describe my displeasure. I called ARS/Rescue Rooter in Itasca. They had installed a new furnace for us and I inquired about their plumbing service. A young man named Marco Botello, Manager of Plumbing took my phone call and was kind enough to listen to all of the above and promise that ARS was different and they would see what they could do. He sent a plumber out, who took pictures and then we discussed the possibilities - always treating me as a valued client and never promising what he could not do and always taking my phone calls. He came back to me after truly researching the problem to give me the bad news and the good news!!! The American Standard brass fixtures couldn't be replaced and only American Standard fixtures could be used. Why? Any other brand would demand that they break the wall in back of the fixtures to get to the pipes. I didn't want that as the wall is one piece of marble and the expense would have been horrific. Obviously, the other three plumbers found that out and didn't have the guts to tell us. Now, the good news and it took someone who cared about a client and wanted to solve a problem. It seems so simple, but nobody else ever thought of it except this young man. Marco Botello, Plumbing Manager explained that all 14 fixtures could be removed, stripped and re-electroplated and reinstalled!!! So simple and soooooo smart! It did! They were taken out by ARS Plumbing and reinstalled by ARS Plumbing. Edmundo Mendoza was the plumber who did the work. He was more than pleasant, neat and efficient and made everything work the way they were meant to, but most importantly the fixtures look as good as the day they were installed. I am not writing this review about the fixtures. I am writing this review about 2 employees of ARS Plumbing. Who were nicer than nice, kinder than kind and solved a problem that no one else could or would take the time to render such fantastic service. Marco Botello went ABOVE AND BEYOND. In today's world that is worth taking time to write a review and applaud his efforts. How smart is ARS to have such caring and professional people in their employ and because of their employees, they have customers for life. We are truly grateful for all that they did. I own a Property Management company in Chicago. Every year before the season change to winter, I call several HVAC companies to come out to the 50 buildings that I managed, some are Residential and Commercial to do a preventive Maintance check to ensure that the furnances are running properly with no issues. This project was done by other HVAC companies, precise and on schedule time. So today, I called a company by the name of ABC Plumbing and Electrical to come to my personal residence to do a preventive Maintance check on two furnances in my home. However, The ABC HVAC company contracted ARS Rescue Rooter to come to my home and service my furnances. ARS called me to schedule an appointment date. The representative stated that they had an opening on November 1, 2024, between the hours of 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Which I concured that time and date. I waited in my home for the technician, who never called and was a no show. I called ARS around 9:20 and asked what happen to the Technician. The Representative told me that the Technician PROBABLY, was stuck on a current job that he was doing and was not able to get to me tonight, however, he asked me did I want to reschdule. At this point, I am frustrated because if the Technician was running late, or could not make it, a simple telephone call would have surfice, he did neither. This was so unprofessional and it is dishearting that a big company like ABC contracted the job to a company that is so unprofessional in the way they treat the clients and some of the work they do, per some clients. I am not sure if ABC reads the negative comments regarding ARS, maybe they should and contract other companies that has a A Star rating. Although,, I could have contacted one of the 26 HVAC companies thats on my roster for the buildings that I manage, but I try to keep business and personal on a separate agenda. Normally, I always google a company before hire. Some of ARS reviews are notorious. Well, in my humble opinion, I will never recommend nor call them again. I may have included them on my roster for plumbing, electrical and HVAC needs. However, now that I know who they are it's a no go for me. They have lost a very good client with opportunities for possible work all year round. I will be notifying ABC Plumbing and Electrical company to give them a synophis of my experience. read more

I had a new furnace and air conditioner installed this week by ARS and wanted to commend my Installation Technicians - Arnie and Alex for an outstanding job! To begin with, it was an extremely cold day and they both worked all day (8 to 4:30) in the cold to complete the job. Additionally, I had some special considerations as I wanted to tear out the sheetrock in the utility room and insulate the wall after they removed my old furnace. They gladly accommodated my request and I was able to do the demo and reconstruction while they worked on modifying my return air duct work to help reduce the interior noise. BTW, this was suggestion by Dave and it was both clever and very effective. I was very pleased with their workmanship and how they were able to accommodate some of my special requests for location of the electrostatic air cleaner and humidifier. In addition, I wish to commend Ted, my Comfort Advisor, for his outstanding service. We spent nearly four hours together in creating a design and specification for my system which would satisfy my objectives. My major motivator in replacing a perfectly functioning, eleven year old furnace was to reduce the interior noise. Together with Ted and with the assistance of Dave, we were able to design a high efficiency system which accomplished all of my objectives and is performing wonderfully. Ted followed thru with a visit during the installation and then a phone follow-up two days later. His service, knowledge and willingness to ensure my satisfaction are both excellent and highly commendable. I would whole-heartedly endorse ARS for any HVAC needs based upon the outstanding representation of these four individuals! read more

Val showed up well within the quoted time and very quickly set up to rod the main sewage drain in my house, which had clogged the previous day. Within a couple runs, the blockage was cleared. Based on the fact that he hit little resistance while rodding the drain, he said that it was more than likely a soft blockage. He informed me that the price also included a camera inspection, if I wanted to do it. I told him yes and he immediately called the office to set it up for the next day. Val was courteous and explained everything he was doing so I understood what was being done to correct my problem. I commend him for his knowledge and politeness the entire time he was in my house. He cleaned up everything completely and it was as good as new when he was finished! Great job, ARS and Val! The following day, Chris B showed up to run the camera through my sewage drain. He arrived within the time window and was set up with everything in about 10 minutes. He explained everything we were seeing from the camera as he worked his way through the sewage drain. He ran almost 70 feet out, which reached to the city sewage line in my front yard. He found no blockage and noted that the drain itself was in excellent condition. He felt confident enough to offer a full year warranty on the rodding that was completed the previous day being that the pipes were completely clear and in excellent condition. Like Val, Chris was polite and courteous the entire time and really knew his stuff. This is why I continue to call ARS for different services needed around my house! I called ARS for a leaky kitchen faucet. The company answered their phone right away and I was able to set up an appt to my convenience within a days time. I was so glad the plumber Manny arrived to my home around 8a.m. He is very professional and I explained I tried fixing the leaky faucet by myself and discovered Kohler sent me O rings instead of cartridge I needed. I tried to fix the faucet by myself and I failed terribly. Manny explained everything he was doing and even ran into a problem I had with this style faucet 2 yrs ago. Even with the new cartridge, the faucet was leaking. I need to replace the entire faucet. He showed me a style faucet ARS has available in truck and or I can choose one of my liking. He suggested 3 good quality brands. He did not charge me for this visit because the faucet was not fixed. I thought that was very nice and unexpected. He also explained to me the importance of preventive maintenance and showed me the residue in my water line by disconnecting a cap on the faucet. I could not believe the black residue that runs thru my faucet ! I was sold on purchasing a plumbing home service plan. He was so thorough, very kind and professional and I greatly appreciated his explanations. I am relieved I have a licensed professional plumber doing the work in my home. I am truly happy that we choose ARS as the company to replace our air conditioner and furnace. first the are backed by Home Depot which has a very good reputation.as a company that serves it customers first and foremost . from the time we called Home Depot until the time the ARS compant sales Rep contacted us was less than one half hour. Armando Garza was very professional and helped us whit choosing the right furnace and air conditioner for our home he did not pressure us and took all the time we needed while answering all our questions. our applications were approved and he told us our equipment would be installed the next day between 8 & 10 am the installation team of Arnulfo C. and Euegen were here at 8:30 am they introduced themselves and proceeded to explain what they were going to accomplish for us. I was very impressed with their professionalism the put on their foot covers laid some trap and went to work with a no nonsense attiude during the time it took them to install the equipment my wife and I asked many questions and they took the time to answer with a smile on their face and said any question you need answered just ask. Let me tell you these two men are top of the line. they finished the project and cleaned up like they weren't even there. and explained all the functions of our equipment until we understood all the aspects. I had concerns about ARS and the experience I had with the work they did at my house because of a sewer backup. After talking to a manager with ARS, he truly showed the company's commitment to customer satisfaction, and making my situation "right". Some notable points with my experience: Initially, the tech came out because of a sewer backup. While he was there, he noticed that my water heater was not installed properly and the pipes were deteriorating, causing leakage that I had not noticed. He fixed the problem on the spot, no call-back needed. Had it not been for their all-around concern for me, the customer, it was likely that in coming months the pipes would have broken. Even if you've never have a water heater pipe break, it doesn't sound like the most pleasant thing to deal with. The tech explained his opinion of what needed to be done. He didn't rush through the job, was prompt, and courteous. I've used ARS in the past, and it was the same tech who was out a few years ago. Turn-over and fly-by-night is not an issue with this company. "Emergency" calls are not a problem; backup of sewers cannot be dealt with in a few days, and ARS was willing to come out immediately. While the work was ultimately was outbid at a much lower rate by another company, price is essentially the only drawback I had in the end. read more

ARS has "Rescued" us many times. My Furnace went out when the temp was in the 20's. We woke up and the thermostat was set for 72%, but it was about 52% in the house. The Technician came out and told me what I knew I would hear. Our 15 yr old furnace should be replaced. They could replace the Mother Board, again, but this would probably just be a band aide, and cost a lot!!. 2 Weeks before Christmas this is not what I wanted to hear. ARS said they would send out someone to give me an estimate on what a new unit would cost, we had spent $1100 in a just over a year in repairs. I never thought we would be getting a new furnace, but was pleasantly surprised. Later that afternoon Scott came out and evaluated the situation, crunched numbers and today I don't wake up every day wondering when the furnace wont come one. Excellent service, follow up phone calls etc. I have the 1 year contract, so I get parts, and labor discounted. They call me to remind me to have my air conditioner, sump pump, water heater, plumbing inspection, and furnace cleaned and checked. In need of air conditioning unit. Chris K arrived at my residents on time with all the information needed regarding units brand, pricing and installation of the unit. Chris survey the area where the unit would possible go and explained how the Technicians would explain in more detail the installation process. There were a few unforeseen issue, which Chris and his manager solved. Chris's manager was very pleasant and professional. Arnie C, the installation technician arrived promptly at the time stated. View the area were the unit would be placed, explained the details of the installation. Arnie and his partner went to work completed the job, cleaned the work area. Arnie also asked if I had any questions, he answered the few I had, stated to not hesitate if there were any issues or more questions. Chris has called to make sure the unit was working properly, which was very nice since it was cold the next few days. I have never meet a more professional team like Chris K, Arnie C and his partner. I am very pleased to have done business with ARS. Thanks to ARS, I now have a properly installed unit to use when summer gets here. Thanks again. read more

I contacted ARS to provide an estimate / service on clearing an outdoor sump line. I have two aspects of the review - Mark D (#200) service and ARS coordination -- 5 stars for Mark D and 4 stars for ARS coordination.of this visit. On the date of the rescheduled appointment, Mark D (#200) came to the house, provided an estimate, and then proceeded with the work. Mark was able to pinpoint the issue. Mark is very professional and explains everything very well. Mark did an excellent job and I rate him as a 5 out of 5. While Mark did a great job, for some reason the ARS coordination was lacking from its normally excellent performance. ARS missed the first scheduled appointment due to flooding in the metro area, so we rescheduled for another day. ARS then called to say that they could not meet the time window for the second appointment. So, we rescheduled for a third time. Had I not been an ARS customer for a few years, I would not have scheduled a third appointment. However, missing a scheduled appointment is not normal for ARS. For purposes of this rating, I give ARS coordination a 4 out of 5. Normally, it is 5 out of 5. read more

After being approached by an appointment setter at our local Home Depot, ARS was dispatched to our home that same day. Our Comfort Specialist Joshua was prompt, very knowledgeable, professional, and above all friendly & helpful! A quick inspection of our current system was performed. Shortly after, my family and I were provided several models of AC/Furnace systems to choose from. All of which were to be backed by the ARS warranty on parts and labor, adding additional peace of mind with our large purchase. Based on our needs, and with Joshua's previous experience as an installer, he and his team were able to design a much more efficient setup that worked within our budget, but more importantly provided the most value. The install was a white-glove experience. The technicians were friendly, clean, respectful of our home, and worked very efficiently. They set expectations going forward in how to maintain the system and how to reach out to them should we need anything in the future. Ultimately we got the best bang for our buck with ARS and would recommend their premium services to our friends and family. read more

We just had Mark D. over to our home for drain clogging problems. He advised us to use this enzyme declogger for our kitchen and bathtub drain clogs before paying for a rodding charge. He had some in his truck, so we were able to use it right away. He gave us a schedule for how often to use the product, how the enzymes worked, and that when we run out, to get an enzyme cleaner from the hardware stores. Mark explained many things to us very thoroughly. I appreciate his advice on the water overflow valve cover. Good advice: loosen it and leave it screwed partially on one side when needing access behind it. Those can tricky to put back on! He will educate you while serving your needs. He is the only person I will call in the future. Also, if the enzyme cleaner does not work for the tub, then he is able to discount the rodding charge. We are real glad that Mark is the one who came to our home! Also, he recommended a product called "zip-it". It's a plastic 20" barbed-like rod that can be handy for quit clearing. I can't say enough about the service Shaun provided!! He was friendly, polite and considerate as well as professional. There was a strong possibility that our job might have turned into a huge project, but Shaun explained the situation and went to work. Lucky for us, it was a less complicated repair! Some less scrupulous people might not have been honest about the severity of the problem and stuck us with a huge bill. The work was done quickly and neatly and showed that Shaun respected that he was a guest in our home. I highly recommend Shaun and ARS for your next plumbing project! So often we hear all of the complaints and none of the compliments, so I called Shaun's manager to let him know that he is definitely an asset to their company. We are planning to do some remodeling in the near future, and we will definitely call ARS and request Shaun for our next project. If you have a plumbing emergency or are planning some changes, I definitely suggest that you consider ARS and ask for Shaun by name! You will not be disappointed! read more

I had very bad experience with above company. I got company information from representative in home depot and appointment was set up. Company representative (Gino) arrived in my house on schedule and as I had 3 AC/furnace units spent almost 3 hours in my house. After that he told me that he will send me an estimate and his recommendations. After 2 weeks no paperwork was sent me to me, I called few times main company trying to obtain estimate but even they have information on file and confirmation of visit to my house no recommendations or estimate were produced. I talked to their manager Scott who said he will make sure I will get needed information. Nothing happened. I wasted 3 hours of my personal time on weekend and got no feedback. And as it turns out that company has no accountability for their employees action (or not action) I would strongly advise against using this company as they simply may waste your time. PS. Now is June my AC unit is completely broken and I had to go emergently with other company. read more

know this seems way too many stars but truly they deserve this. Had estimate last week for new furnace and a/c. I was not given a bait and switch , iwas not talked into a furnace i didn't need or could afford. Ron the salesman was very polite and understood what i needed exactly. I was told they would come and install between 8 and 9am and Bill and Kevin were on time. I was shown id's ( nice touch home depot ) and, i kid you not , these guys acted like this was fun installing a new furnace and a/c in 92 degree weather. Happy , polite, courteous, knew what they were doing and pleasant all around. I had a 60 yr old furnace and 25 yo a/c. this was a big job. they did a great job installing, i didn't lose one plant near the a/c unit. I was shown how to change filters and size , etc . shown how to use the thermostat and they didn;t talk to me as if i was a moron. thanks you ARS and Home Depot . This company thru the partnership they have with Home Depot is exceptional! Nate, Joshua, Jeff and Xavier did a phenomenal job installing both the furnace and ac unit. Our unit was 20 years old and needed to be replaced. We went to Home Depot and this is the company that Home Depot works with in our area. Nate in the sales dept, came the next day for a very very detailed estimate. They gave us a great price and included a free UV air purifier. Two days later they were able to install it. Joshua one of the installers walked me thru the whole process on day of installation, they covered all floors and did a great install inside and outside for the AC. This is the type of company you want to have to do your Install. They also have incredible warranties that come with the HVAC installation. Jeff and Xavier were also the installers and all three of them were very courteous, professional, and I could not be more please with these employees and this company. Highly recommend! read more

Upon ordering our AC unit and furnace  through ARS we were a bit skeptical of the products. Once we met with their team they made it clear that they were dedicated to helping us through the whole entire process from purchasing to installation. Although when the initial project was completed we were not happy with how the return vent and other pipes looked aesthetically. ( I'm a little OCD) ARS and their management team was dedicated to making us happy and were back out to our house to figure out the issues we had and developed a plan to correct the issue. Ultimately, when everything was said and done ARS was dedicated to providing us great customer service and the attention to detail to make sure we were more than  happy with our new ac and furnace. It may have taken a few times but they did make it Perfect. Additionally, management called and followed up to make sure we were satisfied. I called ARS for a service call on my furnace only to find out it basically needed to be replaced. Also, my A/C unit needs to be replaced and lastly my water heater too (which i was already aware of). Anyway - the sales process was very thorough - the sales rep did not pressure me to make a decision right away, but there were some gaps in what I was told. Long story short, a manager was involved and i was taken care of. Now to the installation crew - SUPER!!! Multiple guys showed up and worked together as a team. They had a new water heater, A/C unit (central air), high efficiency furnace, whole house humidifier and air cleaner installed from start to finish in about 4 hours (give or take maybe 45 minutes). The install crew was great at getting my opinion on the discharge pipes,etc. and also walking me through not only usage of the system, but what to service and how. Aside from the sales "hiccup" I am VERY pleased with ARS. read more
