I love love Arsicault and this Mission Bay location is even closer to me which makes it so tempting to grab a croissant anytime I walk past. My favorite is the og butter croissant, so light and buttery without feeling too heavy that you can't eat a whole croissant yourself. Be careful, it's super flaky so will make a mess while you eat. The chocolate is my second fav and what I get when I want to be indulgent but the blackberry hazelnut croissant is such a specialty here and really what I recommend everyone to try. Such a SF staple and worth the wait!

Fast service bakery and one of my SF favorites! Staff are very kind and efficient in packing and serving food. 5/5 - Kouign Amman - My personal favorite pastry at this bakery. The flavor and texture profile are both perfectly mastered. The sweetness is not overwhelming and is balanced through every bite. The pastry is flaky but not too messy, and I would highly recommend trying this on your visit! 4.5/5 - Chocolate Chip Cookie - This pastry can be a bit hit or miss depending on the batch, however, I thought the one I had this time was well-baked! The outside edges had a great crunch to chewiness ratio, and the inside was warm and chewy. The chocolate is also sweet but not overwhelming.

The croissants are the best!!! You even smell the butter and flaky goodness from outside the bakery! The ham and cheese croissant is pretty big and so so good. The almond croissant is tasty too with a bit of almond paste filling inside and loads of powdered sugar on the outside. The amount of flaky layers outside and soft fresh layers inside make it worth it to wait in line. But don't let the line scare you, it goes quick. When you walk in a serve asks to take your order so they can prep and bag them before paying. I bought 4 croissants (plain, almond, ham & cheese and blackberry) for $25.

The Arsicault Bakery empire just keeps growing and growing in the city of San Francisco thanks to their newest and perhaps best location in the city. Located Dr. Maya Angelou Way and Bridgeview Way in a sparkling new development known as Mission Rock, a series of new skyscrapers that the San Francisco Giants baseball team put a lot of investment in, this is Arsicault Bakery's third location in the city. Ten years ago Arsicault Bakery was declared the best new bakery in the country and they have leaned into that bold announcement by creating arguably the best buttery croissants in the Bay Area. Their continued growth and success is no doubt thanks to the ambitions of founder and CEO Armando Lacayo, who moved to the U.S. over a decade and a half ago for a career in finance before launching Arsicault, named after his great-grandparents who owned a bakery in France 100 years ago, with his first tiny bakery that still has long lines along Arguello Boulevard. It's the buttery flakey croissants along with other curated French inspired pastries that have people coming back for more. A friend one brought me their signature croissants one time and I have been hooked ever since, with their Civic Center location being easily accessible, as it is mere steps from the BART Station. With this third location, with a view of Oracle Park, I knew a visit was in order as soon as they opened. Getting there without public transportation can be a challenge, as the one day I was driving in the city on a weekend, parking near this location was scarce but not impossible, as there were spots along Terry A. Francois Boulevard. The line, even on a Sunday afternoon, was long, but moved smoothly as I was inside their café within ten minutes. Since this location of Arsicault Bakery is so busy, they smartly have a sandwich board outside of their café of all the pastries and baguette sandwiches they have for sale on any given day, their coffee menu is featured inside their café, plus they sell additional hot items, including custom-made quiches. In order to get their line through in an orderly way, time is of the essence, and customers have to make some hard decisions rather fast. I knew I wanted a croissant, but I wasn't sure which of the two remaining that they have in stock that I wanted to order. Since their Ham & Cheese Croissant was plentiful, I decided to order that, even though at $7.25 it is a full $2.25 more expensive than their signature croissant, and for good reason, with the savory ham and cheese addition, I could not wait to tore into it, upon being presented with it and it was still piping hot and still so buttery, easily the best croissant I have enjoyed in quite some time! Of course, I had to get some sweet treats as well, and their both their traditional Chocolate Chip Cookie and their glazed Apple Turnover were calling my name, so I ordered those as well, in addition to a Mocha coffee, of which I decided to splurge with an order of oat milk as well, of which I would only learn later that here they do charge an extra dollar for, which is unfortunate for all of us with lactose issues. And since the wait was so long, I decided to order a sandwich for the first time visiting Arsicault Bakery, and their simplest one, their Parisian Baguette Sandwich which had ham, butter and sea salt seemed like the perfect order for me. They have the perfect system here at Arsicault Bakery, as all of your pastries are ordered at your glass counter, placed in a paper bag ready to be rung up at the cashier, then you order your beverages and sandwiches with the cashier, who marks your order with a post-it note. They got me again when they asked if I wanted cheese on the sandwich, which of course I ordered, and it would be an additional two dollars from comte cheese. It would take bout an additional ten minutes for my sandwich order to be ready, and thankfully my handcrafted coffee was ready to go much sooner. My total bill was $42.75 before gratuity was added in, which is definitely on the higher sides of food purchases for me even in the city, but it was for quality pastries and one truly amazing coffee drink, plus the Parisian Baguette Sandwich, which when I received it, I was truly unimpressed but when I took it home to eat, it was so flavorful without much pizzazz that I felt I was feasting on the lawn outside of the Eiffel Tower in Paris enjoying myself in my own French meal! Here's to Arsicault Bakery's continued success, with an additional location coming to the Peninsula later this year, may it be only a matter of time that their next location in my own backyard!

Arsicault Bakery has exceptional coffee and fresh creative pastries and bread. I found this middle gem in the Mission Rock neighborhood across from Oracle San Francisco Giants stadium while walking from Golden State Warriors Chase Center. Honestly, don't think I would have known about this very sleek, clean and efficient Cafe nestled near the Visa building which I can still remember was a vacant parking lot for Giants games. The staff was very helpful at this quick counter service with both sweet & savory selection. I choose the cranberry scone and ordered a cappuccino. My order was ready fast even before I was able to take photos the interior & exterior. Nice! My cappuccino was warm, foaming and very delicious. Excellent! The scones was still warm from the oven. Flaky, filled with many cranberries and very satisfying (I am usually not a dry scone expert yet loved this semi-sweet offering. So if you are ever near Mission Rock across from the Giants stadium popped in and enjoy enjoying your treat on an outside Cafe table "Arsicault Bakery is a renowned French bakery in San Francisco, founded by Armando Lacayo and named after his great-grandparents, who operated a bakery in France over a century ago. Famous for its high-quality, buttery, and flaky croissants, the bakery is recognized for its traditional offerings:

Don't be deterred if you see a long line out the door when you arrive. It's there for a reason (because this place is delicious) and it moves quickly! Their croissants are incredible (I got the chocolate croissant, which was perfectly flaky and buttery and they were very generous with the chocolate filling), as well as their sourdough bread loaves (better than the highly acclaimed Boudin, in my opinion). Their coffee selection is limited, so head next door to Blue Bottle if you want more specialty coffee options (think in terms of syrup variety). The place is cute inside and the service is solid, but seating options are limited.

Ambiance: A very well lit bakery with some limited seating outdoors and a high top counter on the inner wall to stand. The bakery is filled with good displays of the pastries with ability to see into the back as well. Wait time: Notoriously an extremely crowded place which proved to be true when going. You can expect a line of 20-30 people to get in and order, but the line does move quickly. Service: The staff are extremely nice and friendly with good knowledge on baked goods. Food: These are probably some of the best croissants I have had in the Bay Area. The bread is extremely flaky and light with the taste of freshness. Both the chocolate and almond croissants fillings were flavorful and not skimpy on the filling. The Kouign Amann was also just as good but the croissants are another level of perfection. Coffee was very okay and I was not impressed with the flavor of the Mocha I got and didn't really taste the mocha at all. Would definitely skip the coffee and just get the baked goods instead trying a local coffee shop instead.

The croissants are huge! Waited in a long line out the door but it was quick about a 20 min wait. Tried the ham & cheese croissant which was super buttery, huge, cheesy, warm, and delicious. The chocolate almond croissant was also so good, so much powder sugar, so fresh and warm, such huge amounts of almond paste inside and the chocolate is so rich. The morning bun tasted like a Cinnamon Toast Crunch in a bun!

    Plain Croissant

SO GOOD!! The plain butter croissant was one of the fluffiest croissants I've ever had! I loved how buttery it was on the inside and how well it maintained its shape even after biting into it. The chocolate almond croissant was also so good. It was definitely sweeter than the butter croissant (as expected) but not too sweet. The chocolate inside was rich and creamy, the almond filling was almost like marzipan, and the croissant itself was very good, just not as voluminous as the butter croissant (also as expected since it's filled). I totally get the hype around this place!! They were out of chocolate chip cookies when I went around 1pm on a Tuesday, so I'll definitely have to come back for that. The area inside was nice to do some light work, and the location overall is great if you're near Oracle Park or UCSF. Dreaming about their butter croissant right now!!!

I walked into this initially inviting bakery, came late to the party, there were only 4 food items to choose from. Chose a tasty Almond Croissant along with an Americano Iced Coffee. Fast efficient service, limited seating, take your order towards the bay edge and enjoy your break with this baked good. Setting of bakery is more like a convenience store. Order and go, no real ambiance.

There is a French bakery which is known to have the best pastries in San Francisco. This particular pastry is the croissant. To me it's been the best croissant in San Francisco and the best I ever had in the USA. This bakery opened another location in San Francisco. It is located in Mission Bay ( Not the Bay) in the city and county of San Francisco. I wanted to investigate if it keeps it consistent across all the different locations across the city. The place is called Arsicault. On a Winter stroll in the Mission Bay neighborhood in the city of San Francisco walking on the path between Channel street and Dr. Maya Angelou ( my fellow Mission High School in SF alumnus) Lane. I landed at the Arsicault located on Bridgeway street. Inside is a ready to browse and order layout. I had to try their croissant and it was flakey like ones around in SF. It was buttery and soft. It was as if I had the same flakey ones in SF at the Arguello and Civic Center Arsicault locations. I also had their ham and cheese croissant which was delicious not too cheesy but also flakey. Overall consistent like all the different Arsicault locations around San Francisco. Now I am still waiting for the Arsicault at 88 Spear street location to open up so I can inspect the flakes in SF. People visit Arsicault by car , scooter, boat, bus, and "train" and some travel across the country by "plane" and some walk in the thunder and "rain" to try the best croissant in San Francisco which is "top grain " Arsicault is a French bakery they "make" the best croissants in the USA which they freshly "home bake" and they transform your taste buds to become wide "awake"with the buttery flavor and what only remains after you eat it in SF is breadcrumbs and "flake"

I arrived shortly after 10:00 AM and was 4th in line with people continuing to get in line behind me. A staff member would signal for the next customer to come in when she was done with the previous customer. I asked for 2 plain croissants and a chocolate almond croissant. The croissants were placed in individual bags and then a medium sized bag with a handle. The bag had an Arsicault Bakery sticker. The croissants smelled wonderful on my 40 minutes walk back. The croissants were soft and flaky on the outside and the preserve found its way into the layered pockets of the croissant. The croissants were well worth the walk.

I've gone a few times around 10-11 AM and gotten through the line pretty quickly, plus they've never been sold out of anything. Another plus of this location is its proximity to Golden Gate Park; when the weather is nice it's great to pick up pastries from here, find a grassy area in the park to put down a blanket, and have a mini picnic. My favorite thing to get here is the chocolate almond croissant, especially since it's fairly unique and not too many other bakeries do it. Everything is perfect from the almond filling, the flaky croissant, the crunchy baked almond filling on top, and the melted chocolate. It's pretty heavy and dense though, even when hungry I can only get through half of it. It's still good later on (even after a day or two) but nothing beats it fresh. I also like to get the plain croissant and their kouign amann. The kouign amann has the same buttery, flaky layers as the croissant and has this caramelized sugar coating that I love. Don't love their chocolate chip cookie - too much chocolate and not enough cookie. But everything else I've tried from their is so worth the drive over, line, and prices.

Definitely go early to get everything fresh, but you probably won't run into a line if you don't. Highlight of the menu was absolutely the kouign amann - it was so buttery and flaky with this caramelized sticky sweet inside, rivaled in my eyes only by the Arsicault one. We also got the seasonal one (raspberry and guava) which was also really good. The passion fruit bostock was also interesting with this spongy cakey texture with an almond topping. The banana chocolate almond croissant was another favorite of mine, it's also such a unique item and definitely a must order. We sat inside at a table so we could eat some of the pastries right away which I highly recommend - everything lost freshness after a few hours and I probably wouldn't get anything from here again with the intention of eating it later. They have a ton of cakes too, tried the chocolate mousse cake, the berry cake, and the passionfruit orange and guava cake. The chocolate mousse was my favorite and runs on the sweeter side compared to other chocolate mousse's I've had. The other two are also amazing and have a bunch of different layers. I also tried the prosciutto burrata and cherry tomato tartine - an open faced sandwich basically - which tasted good but was kind of difficult to eat, either with hands or fork and knife. Would definitely come here again both because what I tried was so good and there are so many other things there I'd want to try.
