Hubs loves the area so here we were. He saw supper club and our destination was decided. Not sure, but based on other reviews the decor has been changed somewhat, no annoying video screens and not so much quirky. Not a true supper club either; no relish tray. Food was hit & miss. Very nice warm bread loaf with cinnamon butter to start. Both ordered seafood & chicken buffet when we were told it was same fish we were going to order. Salad bar was fine; lettuce mix was fresh and constantly replenished. Seafood chowder was very tasty!! Fish on buffet- ugh! Mashed potatoes- inedible- from a bad boxed deal! Baked potato was fine as were the hush puppies. Hubs enjoyed the pot roast from buffet. Service was good. read more

I was really hoping this place would be good as I moved to the area a year ago. Upon arriving we were quoted a 30 min wait. Not bad and expect even more than that at busy supper clubs. However, 30 min and then 60 min came and passed and over an hour later we were seated. The issue I had was the restaurant was nearly empty. And it was a weekend so maybe that' s saying something. I overheard the hostess mention they were short staffed and she continue to push back seating times even for those with reservations. After being seated our waitress was pretty much non existent. We had to ask for bread. We had to ask for water. Meals came and still no water. Had to ask again. The salad bar was a mess. Dressing all over the spoon handles and toppings all mixed and spilled into each other. The food was meh. Will not return. Head to Sauk instead and hit up Green Acres or Dorf Haus. The service was great, but that is where the praise stops. The silly looking moving pictures on the walls seem very out of place. The food tasted like it was cooked with a burnt pan and the veggie sides were mushy. One of my companions "well-done" steak was still bleeding and when sent back and returned was still pink. I have gone to Arthur's for dinner for years but prices have recently gone sky high for no reason--Arthur's is a local institution, and basically the only game in town. The steaks and prime rib are usually excellent, as is the broiled shellfish, but you feel as if you are paying for all of the unnecessary decor and razzle dazzle electronics instead of the food. No veggies on dinner plate--in a restaurant in an agricultural heartland. The salad bar is fresh--but 1970's all the way. Soups can double as wallpaper paste--always thick and gummy. The bread is uninspired small white loaf. On a recent visit a "loaded" baked potato was about the size of my index finger--and one dollar extra--and served with cheeze whiz instead of real cheese. Ick. Again, in the middle of dairy country . Some of the former servers have moved on and their replacements are not as attentive or friendly The bar area is lively and the drinks are generous, but pricey as well. A seasonal patio area recently opened to enjoy drinks al fresco. There is a dance floor and live groups play on weekends. Arthur's has lots of rooms for banquets and private parties. Unfortunately, instead of noisy waterfalls, sports screens, and more Spanish Inquisition decor, it would be nice if the restrooms would be upgraded, the lobby waiting area improved for traffic, the dessert menu expanded, and the prices adjusted to match the zip code. Spring Green is not Manhattan. The word around town is that attendance on weeknights has dropped off due to the price increases. If any competition opened its doors within five miles, Arthur's would probably soon close--which is sad--but true. Update: restrooms have been improved. Waiting area now available, but very congested and confused traffic pattern at door. Decor still an assault on the senses--and prices unreasonably high. We spent the night in this town and noticed the huge electronic Breakfast sign. Long drive back required a decent breakfast. I already love supper clubs, and was so grateful to have breakfast. The decor is beautiful, fountains everywhere, including the bathroom. That could have been Frank Lloyd Wright inspired, and they have tributes to him, and his WI ties, here. I got the egg and cheese on a homemade biscuit, I added my side of bacon to it. I thought 1.99 was a typo.This is delicious and big. I had a bite of my husband's pancake. It's the size of the 49er at OPH. It tasted homemade, and I loved it. He offered me a bite of the steak and egg biscuit. Steaks served for breakfast are never good enough. This was so tender and charred perfectly. Our server, Ivy was great, and she even brought out someone to help us with exact directions.This answered this city woman's question, why would people live out here? read more

After reading the plethora of negative reviews for this place, I had to do some internet research to make sure this was the same restaurant we experienced yesterday. Granted, we just ordered from the Drive-Thru, but we both thought our Prime Rib Sandwiches were the best Drive -thru meals we've ever had. Thick, juicy slabs of tender Prime Rib on a toasted Ciabatta Roll, Krinkle-Cut Fries were perfectly crisp outside, yet fluffy inside.They even came with a cup of Au Jus, a cup of 1,000 Island like dipping sauce and a Pickle. All of this was $6.99! Even the Soft Serve Shake I had was Thick, Rich and very chocolaty! I've never been in the restaurant, but this meal was definitely worth 5 stars! read more

Stopped in for our first time on a Friday evening and had fried pickles, a salad, prime rib with baked potato and 3 jumbo fried shrimp. All of the food was fresh and delicious and service was spectacular. Portions are big. They serve a loaf of warm homemade bread with a whipped sweet cinnamon butter too - yum. We watched one table serve themselves and proceed to spill their beers and break glass everywhere! If there is any front of house management, they were taking a nap somewhere. Where to begin? We came here on a Saturday night when we were in town celebrating our "Babymoon". We were greeted by a friendly host and we were sat at a nice private table. The atmosphere was nice. However, our waitress did not come to our table for 15 minutes. The place was not that busy, even for a Saturday night. I have a lot of experience with waitressing, and I was appalled that she did not even greet us with a "Hello, I'll be with you shortly" when she was at the tables right next to us. When she finally came, she poured us water and had her fingers around the top of our drinking glasses. EW! She didn't tell us her name. As far as the menu, the steaks were overpriced and there was no size listed for them. I ordered a filet mignon without knowing how big it would be. My husband asked what soups were at the soup and salad bar, and she said "I have no idea, they've changed them like 3 times tonight." We just stared at her until she finally asked "do you want me to find out?". Of course we do! Neither of us eat pork and we wanted to know what soups there were. There are these weird tiny t.v.'s at every booth and table, which have some pretty scenic video feeds. Having to look at them all night of course we were curious about what they were showing. When we asked her she just said "I have no idea". As far as the food, I thought my steak was small for $30, and bland. My husband enjoyed his walleye. I have a gluten allergy and thought the service was excellent in handling of my allergy. I ordered the Cajun Seafood special. It was under seasoned and the crab legs were over cooked and soggy/soft. The pawns were slightly over cooked. The scallops were properly cooked and were good. The special came with the salad bar. The blue cheese dressing was good (for the best dressing go to White Stag in Rhinelander). The dish that was excellent was the beef barley soup! I should have had that for dinner. read more

My wife and I and another couple ate here on New Years Eve 2019. We had made reservations and were seated promptly. The waitress came over and told us we could only use the table for 45 minutes as they were expecting to be quite busy. My friend and I ordered the buffet and the wives ordered an entree and the salad bar. We all went to the salad bar. We didn't realize they had part of the buffet on the salad bar. My wife took a piece of fish from the table that held the salad bar. The waitress come over and in a loud voice, said to my wife "Oh, I see you decided to get the buffet." We finally figured out that they had part of the buffet on the salad bar. My wife was really embarrassed. It ruined the night out for us. When the check was handed to me by the rude waitress, I told her to take it back and make it out for 4 buffets. I told her we don't steal anything and wanted to pay the maximum. She did and I paid the bill. No tip. Arthur's hasn't made another penny on us since, and we used to eat there about once a month. Been stopping here from time to time while commuting between home and our cabin. On Saturday September 7, 2019 we had dinner and I forgot my credit card. Halfway home we called and they said it was at the hostess desk. We asked them to mail it and they said it would go out in Monday's mail. One week later still no credit card! Called and was told the 'mail is slow' in their area. This is total BS. It's not even 100 miles from my home, which usually only takes one day, two at the most in this area. With all of the credit card fraud running rampant in this Country, you would think they would take this task a little more seriously. We won't be back. read more

Literally the strangest place in Wisconsin. (We went to this establishment after visiting house on the rock). From the workers to the oddly placed water fall, it was by far a confusing experience. Also, I wasn't a fan of the small tv's by every table? The content on the large tv screen was african animals which I found to be very out of place. My family and I went to Arthur's the night before visiting The House on the Rock. We are from Chicagoland. Most of us got the buffet dinner. I personally ordered a separate dinner (grilled chicken sandwich on a king roll and beer fries) and ordered the buffet salad (all you can eat) for $3.00 on the side. I would have to say the food was really good. The salad was very fresh and tasty and my mom said her hamburger was the best she ever had. All of my family members really enjoyed their meals. We had an awesome server named Mary. Thanks again Mary for being so friendly and accommodating. We all said that if we were ever in the area again, we would certainly visit this restaurant a second time. read more

Giving my review based on several holiday party's that I have attended at Arthur's. I will start by saying the staff at Arthur's always goes above and beyond to accomodate us with all our needs. Not only are they professional, they make our events fun and a night to remember! With our events, Arthur's usually accomodates anywhere from 150 to 200 people and they never miss a beat. On top of providing us with the best music entertainment, the food (hors d'oeuvres, main courses, and of course the dessert) is absolutey DELISH! We have an event coming up soon and I simply cannot wait to be pampered by the Arthur's staff! I highly recommend them for any party or wedding that you may have in mind. I'm from Wisconsin. Arthur's is a great small town Wisconsin restaurant. Good buffet, fun fish fry, great drinks, and something you don't find everywhere. LIVE music (and good local talent) after the dinner hour. The Arthur's kitch, ...well, they have a cool sword. The place has career staff in addition to good attitude youngsters and is impeccably clean. If you are looking for vintage French wines go to Chicago. We have had decent meals here in the past, but now this is the second trip in a row where the only part of the Restaurant operating correctly was the bar. My wife and I Showed up just after 6 PM on and were quoted about a 45 minute wait. We enjoy having a cocktail or two before dinner so no issue here. We were finally seated at just after 730 PM. Again I understand waits can be difficult to judge sometimes, but here's the kicker. The restaurant is nearly empty. Maybe 15 or so active tables between all the sections. Our waitress comes over and we order immediately as we are now running behind schedule and have to be somewhere at 9 PM. I order prime rib and my wife has the seafood platter. About 8 PM I ask the waitress about the food as 30 minutes after ordering seems a long time. She says it should be up soon as the drive through sometimes backs up the kitchen. Finally at 825 out food comes out 55 minutes after we ordered. I ask for a box and the bill, as we eat very quickly and leave. She was kind enough to get us a dessert to go for our trouble. This is the second time there has been excessive waits on the food. They need to hire more staff in the kitchen and waitstaff and get a front of house manager that knows what they are doing. 2.5 hours to receive an entree at Arthur's is ridiculous. read more

This was our first visit to Arthur's & we were very disappointed. We drove almost an hour to meet family here for the Mother's Day buffet. It was a lot of food but none of it was anything to brag about. The salad bar was lame - just spring mix lettuce with a variety of dressings. There were only a couple of other salads & one of them was coleslaw. The dinner buffet had beef which was good, but the ham & broasted chicken was very dry. The mashed potatoes were good, but the dressing tasted like Stove Top. The breakfast area & desserts were ok, again nothing to rave about. A very over priced ($16.99) buffet for mediocre food. It's a shame that such a nice area has only one supper club & it's not that good. Won't be back :/ read more

Worst meal I've ever paid for. Went for the live music, decided to eat first. Big mistake. We had the fish and chicken buffet. Everything deep fried was burnt and dry. The baked fish was almost the texture of jerky. The shrimp in the "shrimp scampi" still had shells on them. Lettuce on the salad bar was wilted and watery. Terrible. read more

This was one of the most disappointing dinning experiences of my life. I ordered a King cut of prime rib medium rare and received what was more like a petite cut that was very rare and was as much fat as it was meat. Kim ordered a rib eye well done and it came out medium rare. She sent here steak back and it came back still not done. I have another question, what is the 17% surcharge that is not a tip? This sorry excuse for a meal came out to be close to $70.00. I wound not recommend this place to anyone and plan on putting a post on face book warning my friends not to dine here. As far as I'm concerned the only thing Arthur's has in common with a supper club is your prices. The reason I gave you one star is it's the lowest rating you have!!! Plus, if your going to charge $25.00 for a steak you should at least include the salad bar and not charge for refill's of soda.
