I don't think Filbertos, Albertos, PePes even, comes close to the perfect blend of eggs, protein cheese and hash browns, all held together tightly and drenching with a balanced amount of juices and moisture with every bite. The meats don't over power the eggs, the eggs dont overwhelm the cheese, the cheeses are sprinkled evenly across every bit of the burrito, so every bite you have potatoes, cheese, eggs and three meats. This is an update to an old review... I no longer live in the area to frequent Art's Burgers. My husband used to work at Big D's in El Monte and Art had worked there too for a moment I believe before he opened Art's Burgers Anyways, my husband does work in the City of Industry and when I have a day off from work during the week, I usually visit. Well, the day I chose to visit was the day we both agreed to get Art's. I know I miss being able to hit up the drive thru for a late night burger and chili cheese fry. I haven't found any place near me that hits the same as this place does. Burger and chili cheese fry were very good as always. Of course, before I headed home, I had to swing back to the drive thru to bring some family some food (burgers and of course the chili cheese fries). While I was waiting, Art came out and chatted with me a bit and had me laugh. He also thanked me for coming back to support the business, to which I responded I do try when I come back to the area. I know we will have future visits here and there, just not always as it's not easy to get that way all the time. I will point out the location can get quite busy and traffic is usually erratic in the area. It's almost a risk getting out of the exit side of the drive thru as cars block your vision to the left side and then you got cars coming from the right side. Other than that, I would recommend a visit to this spot when in El Monte. read more

This place is over hyped and under delivered. Everyone says this is an El Monte Landmark, but the restaurant is MID! I ordered 2 breakfast burritos with potatoes an extra $1.50 each. Instead, I received 2 soggy wet burritos without potatoes. The burritos were just full of warm tomato-y juice that was gross. If you want the texture of wet cardboard in a wet tube, order what I got. A very long overdue review but the food is delicious! The burger truly tastes like an in-n-out burger but a bit better since the meat seems a bit thicker. So seeing this place on tic tok with long lines waiting to order, was pretty excited to try this place out. Ordered the large (4 egg) breakfast burrito with sausage & potatoes. Decent size but mildly disappointed with the taste & the filling inside. Very bland, It was basically a potato burrito, with 80% potato, 15% egg, and 4% sausage, & 1% cheese. The salsa was slightly helpful with the bland-ness, even though I think the salsa was the jar version from new York city. If you're advertising a "4 egg breakfast burrito ", you would think the ratio would be more like 35% egg, 35% potatoes, 25% sausage & 5% cheese. Don't know if this was a new employee or did they just had a bad day, so I will give them another try, and hopefully I won't forget to take a photo of it. For now, 2 stars. Local favorite that is compared to In-N-Out. I'm so glad that it's close to home! I've met the owner, Art, and he is so friendly, funny, and hard-working. It's mostly a drive through a spot, but there is a walkout counter and they have seating outside with umbrellas in a shaded area. Their bathroom is also very clean as well. I believe they just opened online ordering, but their service is straight to the point. You really don't have to wait too long for your food! Food is fresh delicious and affordable! I've taken so many friends to the spot and it's right down the street from other fast food spots, but I definitely recommend this. Make sure to grab your burger, toasted and add pickles! I haven't had arts since before the car crashed into the establishment! It's been a few years since I have had their burgers which I remember being super delicious. Today I went in for breakfast which I had never ordered before. I pulled up the drive through and there was only one car ahead of me. I ordered the egg and cheese sandwich (2 eggs) and I got it on sourdough bread. My son ordered a large big John. The cashier was very polite and offered salsa and yellow peppers. He gave us one salsa and 1 baggy of yellow peppers. I should've asked for another salsa because the one salsa was only enough for about half of the big John burrito. Price was $21 even for the big John burrito+ added potatoes and my egg and cheese sandwich. I really liked how the sand-which came with fresh lettuce and tomatoes and it's also nice having options for bread. My son LOVED the burrito. He only ate about half and said he was full so that means it's a good size burrito. I will say that my bread for my breakfast sandwich was very greasy and so I am wondering if next time I can say no mayo? Not sure if the grease was a combination of mayo and butter or only mayo. We ate in the car since we were in a hurry but they do have parking and a few tables to enjoy your meal there if you'd like. Ordered a double cheeseburger with bacon and a monster fry. Unfortunately their shake machine was down so I couldn't get a float. Also they don't have cola but instead serve Pepsi. Came on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait at the drive thru. Pleasantly surprised by the lack of a wait, as I heard stories that the wait could be extremely long. Maybe that was the case when they first reopened, but there wasn't much of a wait when I went. Not going to comment too much on service because it's what you'd expect from a typical drive thru. Pricing: Pretty reasonable and cheaper than some bigger fast food joints! Pretty surprising for a small business, so I wonder if they're eating into their margins with their pricing model. As for the food. Before I begin, I want to preface that I think calling Arts Burger an "in n out" dupe is a disservice to Arts. For me, a dupe would mean something that is cheaper. I don't think it's fair that they are constantly compared to In n out, when they are both great in different ways. They're priced similarly and honestly I think they taste quite different. Besides a similar looking menu and exterior (of which is not exclusive to In n Out), their burgers taste quite different. Double cheeseburger: good size patties, complimented well with fresh lettuce. Cheese melted well and was delicious with the banana peppers on the side. I like how the lettuce wasn't shredded either. Size was amazing, I can usually eat a 3x3 with fries but man was I full after this one. My only qualm is that I think the patties could use a bit more seasoning? It just felt like something was missing. Probably wouldn't get a bacon with it next time as well. Nothing wrong with the bacon, just not my preference. Monster fries: this was something I really really wanted to love. Wont really comment on the fries itself because I couldn't really taste the crispiness or seasoning as it was... well drenched in the toppings. Not a bad thing, but unfortunately the monster fries were not my cup of tea. It just felt like there was so much going on, from the thousand island sauce to the lettuce and the tomatoes. I know there are people love that though, so I didn't account the fries in my final rating. I would definitely try out their regular fries next time though! Menu versatility: this was the highlight of the restaurant and why I hesitated on writing a review until I was able to try more items (I ultimately decided to write it anyways and update it when I came back). At Arts, I love how many options you can get on the menu: from nuggets, onion rings, different types of fries, breakfast items, different sandwiches, to even having a boysenberry option for the shakes! We came here on whim trying to figure out what to do for dinner. It was so quick and easy to order via the drive thru since we live close by. The burger is a good size ans very similar to the size of in n out but has bacon. It was perfectly cooked and not greasy. This applied to the chili cheese fries as well which I split with my mom. It was a great dinner and it did not leave me with an overstuffed feeling. I definitely want to come back and try other items on their menu. For $4.10, this is a better value than any other onion ring places. 4.2/5 Yes their double cheeseburger tastes like In-n-Out because of the toasted bun, spread, fresh vegetables, and grilled onion (add both raw and grilled for max taste). The meat taste like the typical frozen patties you get at like maybe Rally's. Considered an in n out drive thru knockoff type of location. I know that arts is a staple in El Monte and people cherish it dearly but I believe the quality definitely fell off after the reopening. There was both a long line for the drive through and walk up window, in total I waited about 40 minutes. Workers try to work fast but I don't think it was fast enough. Gave 2 stars for the burger itself and price, it wasn't so steep for a combo and the burger did redeem the wait. We tried the breakfast burritos at Art's and they were very delicious! I got a small egg & cheese burrito and my boyfriend got the Big John Burrito with burritos (size large). I regretted getting a small on the way home but as soon as I ate my burrito I realized I made the right chose. The burritos are proportionately stuffed with tasty egg and cheese so I was satisfied and full after eating my small burrito. My boyfriend ate 1/2 of his burrito for breakfast and the other half for lunch. The staff who helped us out were very kind and polite, got us our food very quickly. I come here to order food for my staff and only 2 employee are able to get my order without and issue and fast. All other employees give me such a hard time and have even rolled their eyes and showed frustration in front of me. One of them even said in front of me "I can't do this " but I told him from the beginning it was a long order. I also wanted coffee once and one of the guys said "there's no coffee" while the other one said to him "there's coffee in the back". You can tell by their face who is who. One of them is so eager to help while the other is serious and really looks unwelcoming. The food is good, the onion rings are good too. Chicken sandwich is one of my staff's favorites. pulled to see what the hype is about. the line honestly was 3 times as long as in n out and i'm not sure if it was worth the wait. the food itself is very good, very similar to in n out but tastes more "homemade" if that makes sense. the main difference is you have a lot more options here. tried their double cheese, chicken burger and two of their fries. the double cheese is your basic double double, though it felt a bit smaller. the chicken burger surprisingly was good. for those families with kids who love chicken tenders, this is a good middle ground. their fries are infinitely better than in n out though. both their chili cheese fries and monster fries came extremely loaded and have sooo much more flavor compared to the chain. i basically consider this place in n out with options. if you don't mind the wait and want to support a small business, this the jawn for you! read more

Similar to In-N-Out (INO) but better. I think the burger is fantastic and better than INO because they have bacon and INO does not offer bacon. They have soft buns, flavorful burgers, nice melts yellow American cheese, grilled onions, and dill pickles are crunchy as is the lettuce. I also had the fries which I prefer to INOs fries. The service is fast and friendly. They are hustling in that spot. It's tiny and has a lot of people working all at once, and they all move well together in a nice rhythm. They have a small parking lot, a clean bathroom, and the prices are pretty fair. The lines are long, but if you're willing to wait you won't be disappointed. Today I stopped by Art's Burgers to see what all the hype was about, and honestly, it was just okay. Right off the bat, we waited about 25 minutes just to place our order, even though there were only two people ahead of us. We ordered a cheeseburger, chili cheese dog, and chili cheese fries. My bad, dude. Didn't know I was on sacred ground. Here's the one thing Art's didn't steal from In-N-Out: speed. Took 20 minutes just to order. Another 40 to get the food. I aged a year under those fluorescent lights. In-N-Out would've fed my whole family, taken my grandkids' orders, and cured my taxes in that time. The burger finally shows up and it's... In-N-Out. Like, suspiciously In-N-Out. Double-Double dupe with a side of déjà vu. Which is fine, but now I'm just mad I burned an hour of my life for a cover band when the original is 10 minutes away with a drive-thru. Peek behind the counter and the problem's obvious: ONE tiny grill. That poor griddle is pulling triple shifts doing burgers, breakfast burritos, and random sandwiches. Food is alright for a local burger joint. I went on a sunday. Line was not too bad. Max time line was about 10 mins or so. The burger was lacking seasoning and the fries lacked salt. The only flavor was the side of spread we requested which they only give you one per burger. Fair enough. About 15 years ago, the food was better seasoned so not sure what happened, but decent enough for a local burger shack. Service was quick and polite. I feel like the menus could be on both sides of the ordering lines, not just angle towards the right side.
