CHECK RECEIPT!! Last week I went to arts since I hadn't been in years and with the reopen I thought what better time to go than now. I ordered one double cheeseburger with bacon and one cheeseburger both with regular fries and a drink for me and my wife. I knew the price wasn't going to be the same from the many years ago that I came and honestly was still a pretty good price but from what they told me to what I saw on my bank statement did NOT match. I was charged $270! I immediately went back the next day and explained to the owner what happen and she didn't say nothing but "what time did you come" after she found the receipt and it did show a charge of $270 she credited me back the DIFFERENCE. One, I get it might have been an honest mistake but a sorry was definitely due and I didn't even get that. Two, a charge of $270 that's more than I had in my checking so I was charged a overdraft fee from my bank so again I feel like she could've apologized credited me back the full $270 for the inconvenience and called it a day. So yes I got my money back but still paid for my original order and got stuck paying for my overdraft fee so still lost money. So lesson learned always make sure the price is right on your receipt. My bad, dude. Didn't know I was on sacred ground. Here's the one thing Art's didn't steal from In-N-Out: speed. Took 20 minutes just to order. Another 40 to get the food. I aged a year under those fluorescent lights. In-N-Out would've fed my whole family, taken my grandkids' orders, and cured my taxes in that time. The burger finally shows up and it's... In-N-Out. Like, suspiciously In-N-Out. Double-Double dupe with a side of déjà vu. Which is fine, but now I'm just mad I burned an hour of my life for a cover band when the original is 10 minutes away with a drive-thru. Peek behind the counter and the problem's obvious: ONE tiny grill. That poor griddle is pulling triple shifts doing burgers, breakfast burritos, and random sandwiches. It's the overworked middle child of fast food appliances. Maybe limit breakfast to before 10am? Revolutionary idea: lunch menu = lunch food. Let the grill breathe. Did I like it? Sure. In the same way I like knowing the moon landing wasn't faked. One and done. Been there, cosplayed that. We came here on whim trying to figure out what to do for dinner. It was so quick and easy to order via the drive thru since we live close by. The burger is a good size ans very similar to the size of in n out but has bacon. It was perfectly cooked and not greasy. This applied to the chili cheese fries as well which I split with my mom. It was a great dinner and it did not leave me with an overstuffed feeling. I definitely want to come back and try other items on their menu. There is an employee who will come to your car to take your order. Decided to come here to try out the burgers since there was quite a hype about it. The line moved pretty fast which is always awesome but besides that... I'm not sure if I'll come again. The girl taking my order wasn't the friendliest. Let her know it was our first time but she just kept a stoic face saying anything else anything else. We studied the menu beforehand but still weren't too sure. The other downside is the charge they make you pay to use your card. Come on now. It's 2026. The spread had too much onions. If you're into onions you'll def love this place. The hamburger wasn't anything special but it was not bad at all. Portions are super small. We tried the breakfast burritos at Art's and they were very delicious! I got a small egg & cheese burrito and my boyfriend got the Big John Burrito with burritos (size large). I regretted getting a small on the way home but as soon as I ate my burrito I realized I made the right chose. The burritos are proportionately stuffed with tasty egg and cheese so I was satisfied and full after eating my small burrito. My boyfriend ate 1/2 of his burrito for breakfast and the other half for lunch. The staff who helped us out were very kind and polite, got us our food very quickly. I've always loved arts since I was a kid. It is my hometown staple and glad it has finally reopened. However, there is one thing I noticed. Please correct me if I'm wrong. For $4.10, this is a better value than any other onion ring places. 4.2/5 Yes their double cheeseburger tastes like In-n-Out because of the toasted bun, spread, fresh vegetables, and grilled onion (add both raw and grilled for max taste). The meat taste like the typical frozen patties you get at like maybe Rally's. Go here if you want a slightly cheaper In-n-Out clone ($5.90 vs $6.35) The boysenberry shake is so good, it's like a blueberryish shake with a hint of waffle cone taste. Very good for $3.55! Parking: I would park the parking lot next over and walk over to order at the counter. The drive through was insane on a Saturday 10 AM order. Hamburger with grilled onions: Yes, it's pretty much like In N Out but without the thousand island dressing. Buns were crisp, lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and the savoriness of the patty was just right. If you want to get your In N Out fix, come here. Small Big John burrito with potato (bacon, ham and salsa): The burrito wasn't that big but it can get you pretty full. The cheese was warm and the meats were nice and juicy. Staff is quick and reliable. The restaurant is built exactly like an in n out with outdoor seating and a double drive thru. It was clean. The food was pretty expensive in my opinion for what it was. Came here after seeing it all over social media. It seems like parking is hard since they only have a small lot. We were lucky and found parking on the street right in front. They do have restrooms in the back and I was actually surprised by how clean it was. Seating is only outside. We waited in line for about 40 mins on a Saturday night. Considered an in n out drive thru knockoff type of location. I know that arts is a staple in El Monte and people cherish it dearly but I believe the quality definitely fell off after the reopening. There was both a long line for the drive through and walk up window, in total I waited about 40 minutes. Workers try to work fast but I don't think it was fast enough. Gave 2 stars for the burger itself and price, it wasn't so steep for a combo and the burger did redeem the wait. However the fries didn't make a combo feel like a combo as I was given the tiniest portion ever + they were stale & cold. This place definitely needs a step up post reopening. read more

I come here to order food for my staff and only 2 employee are able to get my order without and issue and fast. All other employees give me such a hard time and have even rolled their eyes and showed frustration in front of me. One of them even said in front of me "I can't do this " but I told him from the beginning it was a long order. I also wanted coffee once and one of the guys said "there's no coffee" while the other one said to him "there's coffee in the back". You can tell by their face who is who. One of them is so eager to help while the other is serious and really looks unwelcoming. The food is good, the onion rings are good too. Chicken sandwich is one of my staff's favorites. Food is alright for a local burger joint. I went on a sunday. Line was not too bad. Max time line was about 10 mins or so. The burger was lacking seasoning and the fries lacked salt. The only flavor was the side of spread we requested which they only give you one per burger. Fair enough. About 15 years ago, the food was better seasoned so not sure what happened, but decent enough for a local burger shack. Service was quick and polite. I feel like the menus could be on both sides of the ordering lines, not just angle towards the right side. Today I stopped by Art's Burgers to see what all the hype was about, and honestly, it was just okay. Right off the bat, we waited about 25 minutes just to place our order, even though there were only two people ahead of us. We ordered a cheeseburger, chili cheese dog, and chili cheese fries. The cheeseburger was mid--not very flavorful, barely any sauce, and the slice of onion was almost as thick as the patty itself. It's definitely nowhere near In-N-Out quality. The chili cheese dog was also pretty bland, and the onions were chopped way too big--smaller, finer pieces would've made a big difference. The chili cheese fries were the highlight. The chili had good flavor and was enjoyable, though I personally prefer thicker fries over skinny ones. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it didn't live up to the hype either. 5/10 for me. read more

Similar to In-N-Out (INO) but better. I think the burger is fantastic and better than INO because they have bacon and INO does not offer bacon. They have soft buns, flavorful burgers, nice melts yellow American cheese, grilled onions, and dill pickles are crunchy as is the lettuce. I also had the fries which I prefer to INOs fries. The service is fast and friendly. They are hustling in that spot. It's tiny and has a lot of people working all at once, and they all move well together in a nice rhythm. They have a small parking lot, a clean bathroom, and the prices are pretty fair. The lines are long, but if you're willing to wait you won't be disappointed. Ive been coming here since I was a young girl. And now I bring my daughters and we love this place. Everytime were in town to visit my mom we need to stop by here. We love the chillicheese fries.
