When we pulled up our reservation to confirm the time, we found that it had been cancelled without any communication at all. After calling the restaurant to see if something had happened, the host commented that the manager decided to cancel because we had notated we were coming in for drinks. No where on the website or OpenTable app does it say this is not allowed. Nor did the manager reach out via text or call to confirm or follow up before cancelling. We had already decided we would be getting appetizers and possible dinner as well so they did allow us to rebook when we called to inquire. The waiter was attentive and the waters were kept filled which we appreciated. It is worth notating that the Ceaser salad is not a traditional salad and their version just shows you why it's a classic for a reason. The bibb lettuce was wilted and the heavy pour/toss of dressing did nothing but weigh the salad down and make it slimy. The "crispy ricotta polpettes" while great in theory, missed the mark of complimenting the salad and instead seemed like a cold hush puppy that was more cornmeal forward than ricotta. The real reason we came, the espresso martini still held our attention and we were hoping that the best was yet to come. We each ordered an espresso martini and while our preferences range when it comes to the perfect cocktail, we all agreed this was not the way to do it. This is more reminiscent of a liquid mudslide than an espresso martini (calling it that, is taking very creative liberty). Despite the glass being rimmed with espresso powder, the cocktail lacked the espresso profile we were looking for and the different alcohols used were all fighting to be tasted above the other. A disappointing experience and lack of professionalism by the manager.

She was soooooooooooooooooo Nasty about it. I could've easily made another reservation at several other restaurants. Or walked across the street instead of standing there. Due to her unnecessary behavior and the lack of communication from the restaurant, we went to a restaurant on the corner, which we could've done at Any given point had anyone communicated with me the way I communicated with them. Line out the door and I did not see them talking to anyone in line. , shame on them for having such attitude Don't go here they're rude After 6 hours on a plane And a car ride that was supposed to be 20 minutes that turned into 40 That's not how you treat a customer that truly went out of Their way to communicate and give the restaurant courtesy. I recently went to a restaurant on Prince Street in the North End called Artu's. We could not have had a better experience. From the minute you walked in, everyone was friendly. Its a beautiful upscale restaurant with ample room and a spacious bar.The food, beginning with the appetizers right through to dessert was incredible. The antipasto was the greatest; however the fried calamari may have been the best I ever tasted! For a main course you could not go wrong with any of the selections, but I highly recommend the veal marsala. Our waitress, Pru was unsurpassed, just like my grandmother from Italy. She made you laugh, feel at ease, was very attentive but allowed us to relax and truly enjoy our time celebrating my dad's birthday. She made the evening truly enjoyable with her humor and stories. The menu was reasonably priced, but the food was OUTSTANDING. We really had a great time. Artu's made my Father's birthday special. I know that there are many fine restaurants in the North End (and we have been to a lot of them) but for a true dining experience, I can't recommend Artu's highly enough. read more

We stopped in Artu' after the St. Anthony feast rainout (we saw Artu' on the Phantom Gourmet Great 8, so it was on our list!), luckily grabbed a couple of seats at the bar.The service was prompt, even though dining room was packed, we opted to eat off the bar menu rather than the full menu (grabbed the obligatory fried dough on the way over while dodging the raindrops!!!). I had the rib eye sandwich (cooked meduim rare, cheese was plentiful and sandwich could easily have been shared by two) with shoestring fries, "well done and crispy" the way I asked and at the bartender Wendy's suggestion we tried a shrimp scampi pizza, pizza was about 12" and was grilled, it was DELICIOUS!! Drinks were great and my wife enjoyed the house sangria as well. Bar filled up fast, seemed like a good mix and barstaff interacted well with everyone around us. We look forward to coming back and giving the dining room a try, several of the folks on the way out (you walk thru the bar area to enter and exit) said they loved the food. read more

Went here after being recommended by someone. Off the bat I spotted something i didn't like.... at the bottom of the menu was a disclaimer, "NO splitting dishes, minimum $14.50 per person, etc....". I love to spend money on food, but being told I have to makes me semi resentful. ANYWAYS; I got a white Sangria which was EXCELLENT, and my boyfriend got some of their pineapple vodka which was also delicious. I give the drinks 5 stars, fairly simple drinks, nevertheless, well done bartender. I started with a Caprese salad which was AMAZING. Everything was super fresh, reminded me of the salads in Italy. The pasta, unfortunately, was mediocre. I got penne w/ capers, olives, anchovies. My boy got cheese & mushroom tortallini. Both edible, but a let down after the salad/drinks. Ambiance was alright, friendly service. I would give it 4 stars, but an Italian place in the North End with less-than-heavenly pasta.... i just can't do it. read more

Had a minute to spare and thought that I would share my experience I had at Artu's in the North End last week. I went there with a friend of mine for lunch, we sat at the bar, and had Sal as our bartender. What an experience! He was not only attractive, but gave us tips as to what we should order. As it was restaurant week and we were not interested in that, he explained that we could not go wrong with the eggplant as my friend and I are big eggplant lovers. We had a glass of wine each, which he recommended the best to us as we couldn't make up our minds, and it turned out to be the most delicious wine and eggplant we have ever had. I told him I was going back to the office downtown to brag to all the female co-workers (especially the single ones) that they must try this place. FANTASTIC! My boyfriend and I decided to try a new restaurant in the north end last weekend and had one of the best meals ever. We started off with the special, mozzarella en carozza it was delightful !! Next we dove into our Entrees, I chose the fusilli pollo rabe and he had the fig and prosciutto ravioli. We both LOVED both of our choices ! Our waiter Max was quite knowledgeable of the wine lists and all of the items on the menu which really helped us ! The staff was so welcoming and friendly at the door and sat us promptly. Our Experience was GREAT ! We would recommend this place to EVERYONE !!!!! Next time we come we are deffinetly going to try the bar menu ( the pizza looked awsome) and one of the creative drinks we saw coming from the bar area !!! DELICIOUS !!!! read more

May 2009 - - Will never go back. Made a reservation on Wednesday for the following Saturday night. The person who answered the phone took my name, home phone and cell phone number - so I assumed I was all set. Not so. Saturday, noon-time. I called to confirm the reservation and the gentleman who answered the phone told me he had no reservation in my name or phone numbers either. We stumbled on Artu last night to have dinner before a show at the Garden. I loved it! Our server Gia was great...always there when you needed her and had some great recommendations. I was all set to order Pollo Donato and she said if anyone liked Eggplant Parm, they had the best and she was so right! I really loved it. Thin and crispy the way I love it. We also had the Bruscetta which was different but amazing. I highly recommend the Salted caramel martini. It was delish! myself and five friends went to artu .on friday night i want to start off by saying .it was one of the best times ever. we where seated in the back the place was clean and smelled of really good food.filled the air.are waiter was top notch and funny!! he suggested we do whats known as family style dinning. he told of of some really good dishes. and explained them. when he was done all we could say was bring it on. then he paired it with a great wine for us . well i have to tell you he was dead on the money!! this is are new place to eat in the north end!! cant wait to go back read more

OMG, just had lunch at Artu's at Prince Street in the North End. Sat at the bar as the restaurant was pretty busy due to restaurant week. Met the bartender, Sal, who was incredible........... he was so attentive, courteous, and apologized for the restaurant being so busy. The food was incredible and thanks to a great bartender, we will definitely attend this restaurant on a weekly basis and recommend it to all of the attorneys in our firm. It's a hidden treasure of the north end. My wife and I went there before the celtics game, food was wonderful, service was very personable, and not to mention they have a full bar. We loved it soo much we went back after the game. The bar stays open til 2am and serves food until 1am :) my wife got a drink called the x boyfriend and I got The Bad Boy! The food is authentic Italian cuisine, with great flavors and heaping portions. The service is predictable and great - I'm always treated like family. The drinks are creative and artfully presented - a real delight if you like only one like me. The ambiance is intimate and not even remotely pretentious.
