I just had the best chicken parmigiana I've ever had in my life. I've been living for 23 days in the Boston area and have had a lot of Italian food. We were a little nervous as they weren't busy like some other restaurants in the North End, but my family and I were pleasantly surprised with how just solid food the food was! They make their pasta fresh in-house and it's just amazing. Their chicken parmigiana was not dry or overcooked. Their spaghetti and meatballs was classic but not basic tasting. We had 4 of us eating dinner and it was all so good! Their menu isn't very big but they rocked everything we ordered. PLUS - they are one of few places in the North End that are actually pretty handicap accessible. There's a ramp to go in the front door (most have a ledge or stairs) and the restroom is on the same level, not downstairs like other places. This is a cute place in little Italy in Boston and a great spot if you are looking for a small, cozy dinner. This place had some of the best Italian food I have had. I had the mushroom ravioli and it was delicious. So fresh, so flavorful and the pasta was delicious. The staff was attentive and helpful. We ate here on a Friday night and had a reservation which I highly recommend as it was packed. We had to squeeze by folks to get to our table and the back of my chair was hitting the person behind me. It made for a high energy environment with a lot of hustle and bustle, but if you are looking for a quiet, intimate dinner than this may not be the place. SO GOOD! I just had lunch with my parents here the other day and it was just as good as we remembered. My mom and I knew to order the chicken parm because it was amazing based off memory. Was in Boston with my family for a few days and decided to try this place after it was recommended by a tour guide for being small, yet very appealing on the outside. Walked in and was immediately sat down at a table. They brought out bread with olive oil and Parmesan. That was a great way to start the meal with crispy bread and smooth olive oil. Within five minutes of sitting down, our server was already pushing us to order food and drinks. Within about 30 minutes of arriving, both our appetizers and entrées were brought out. The food itself was delicious. I had the chicken vodka sauce pasta, which was excellent, and my fiancé and the couple we were with all enjoyed their meals. But the pacing made it hard to enjoy the experience. We felt rushed the entire time. After we finished eating, we waited patiently to get our server's attention to order another round of drinks. Instead, he walked over and dropped the check on the table without asking how the food was or whether we wanted anything else. At this point, we hadn't even been there an hour. On our North End quest, this was stop #4 but moved to #1 on our rankings. Very tiny place with squished seating but we didn't mind our two person table at the wall. Our server was quick and very sweet. We ordered eggplant modugnese and burrata for apps, lobster ravioli and lamb ragu for dinner, all 10/10. Appetizers were great portions but still very light. Lamb ragu had their name brand pasta shape and a generous portion of meat. I am a lobster ravioli connoisseur and I absolutely loved this. Stopped here because the place down the street was too busy to walk in. This a charming little restaurant that was easy to walk in on a weekday around 6:30 PM. I was greeted right away and sat by the window. The ceaser was good, but nothing extraordinary about it. Same with the meatballs, pretty good but I was left expecting something better. The veal almafi was very good, although the spinach may be a little over powering for some as it almost overpowered the veal and cheese. We visited this restaurant with my girlfriends a few months back. We were visiting Boston and decided to go have dinner and didn't expect all the restaurants to be so packed! This one gave us a 20 min waiting and our server was so nice! He knew we were waiting and he made everybody possible for us to sit as soon as possible. As soon as we sit, we shared a bottle of wine and ordered some fried calamari's to start. Calamari was ok, they also gave some bread and was also ok. We ordered some pasta to share because we did realize plates were pretty big. We had the Spaghetti Fruto di Mare which was delicious! Really, really good! My girlfriend and I had a SPECTACULAR anniversary dinner at Casarecce in the North End. The service was fantastic throughout the night and the food was to die for. We made a reservation and were seated right away at a cute table for two. The venue is quite small and it feels like you are in Italy. We started off with fresh bread and oil which was fantastic. We ordered the burrata appetizer as well which came atop prosciutto and was garnished with balsamic vinegar and tomato. The prosciutto was some of the best I have ever had - so flavorful and fresh. The burrata was great as well with the bread and oil, can't go wrong there. For my main course I got my favorite chicken parmigiana which was fantastic - the marinara sauce was so fresh and flavorful, and had a perfect consistency. It was my first time trying casarecce pasta and it was so good, cooked perfectly al dente just how I like it. The chicken parm itself was glorious as well, and the cheese on top was a perfect addition. My girlfriend ordered an oil pasta dish which came with sausage and broccoli, hers was fantastic and she loved it. For dessert, we celebrated with chocolate lava cake paired with vanilla gelato, it was some of the best I've had in a while. I would highly recommend casarecce if you are looking for an amazing dining experience that feels like you are in Milan. What a beautiful restaurant! Do not try to do a walk on a weekend, we had a reservation and we still had to wait (it has very limited seating so it makes sense that you'd have a to wait a little bit). They brought you bread with Parmesan and EVOO, nothing special and the bread for the bruschetta was very thick and not as toasted as we would have liked. Now onto the entrees, we got Chicken Parmigiana (chicken perfectly fried and the pasta was perfectly cooked), lobster ravioli (good portion and the sauce was garlicky and delicious), chicken vodka and chicken risotto. I didn't try the last 2, but the people who ate it really liked it. When visiting Boston I decided to visit North End which is known for its Italian Food. I picked Casarecce randomly using Yelp. My expectations were high! I wont dock points for the parking situation as nearly all of downtown Boston suffers from the same issue. I started with the calamari which was some of the best calamari I have ever had. I was so excited to travel to Boston from California to eat some authentic Italian food and this was the first place we saw when entering little Italy and to our amazement they had a table available. Thankfully I'm on the smaller side considering I had to squeeze in between two tables that were at most 6 inches apart interrupting the table next to us eating just to sit. We went to Casarecce on a friend's recommendation, who cited it as their favorite restaurant. I am really wondering after eating there, "Did they mean to send us somewhere else?" Like other North End restaurants, the restaurant is super tiny. We were fortunate that the restaurant was only half-full at 6:30 on a Wednesday (maybe this should have been a clue because everywhere else looked packed?), since table are only about 6" apart. Service was friendly and efficient, so this seemed like a good start. Food, however, was so-so to terrible! We ordered the meatball appetizer, carbonara, and chicken vodka. The meatball (portion of 3) and sauce were essentially room temperature and completely under-seasoned. It was accompanied by a very garlicky toast, which I liked. A small basket of bread also came to the table. This was the hardest, saddest bread that they should have truly been embarrassed to serve. The pasta portions were huge - I imagine perhaps a draw for families with little kids - and very rich. The carbonara was nicely peppery. The chicken vodka was awful with way too much sauce and containing pees that had the dull color and off-putting taste of canned peas. Overall, a huge "NEVER AGAIN" for me. read more

For entrées, my husband had the veal parmigiana and couldn't stop talking about how tender it was--easily one of the best pieces of veal he's ever had. Small but absolutely fantastic restaurant! We had the very best calamari any if it's have ever had (3 in the party). It was so fresh and tender! We ordered a side of Diablo sauce for the calamari, but the marinara sauce that came with it actually worked better.
