I've had nothing but great customer service and repair work in the 10 months I've been taking my 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme to Arturo Auto Repair. I bless the day that an auto parts store gave me his name and number. When I asked what he'd charge me to replace my bad blinker with the one I brought in, I was quoted $80, which I thought was reasonable. Well, in fewer than 20 minutes the new blinker item was installed and they did NOT charge me ANYTHING for their work. I got great work at a reasonable price from Arturo Auto Repair when I had to replace a major gasket, hose, alternator, and other key parts. I also got the same experience when I recently had to have my EGR valve replaced. I'm also getting the same experience with Arturo Auto Repair to replace my car's power steering pump and related hoses. read more

Was referred to this place by a friend of the guy that referred me to Ramos Auto Repair in SoCal, so I thought I was safe. I was wrong. Engine was panging. He told me I had engine sludge and that I needed a brand new engine. THAT was probably true. Quoted me $4000 including parts and labor. I didn't get any other opinions, so I'll even trust that was fair (I really don't know, but THAT is my own fault). First problem: He told me he would have it ready in a couple days. It ended up taking over a week. Second problem: They cracked the coolant housing when they were replacing the engine, then they charged me $140 for a new one! Third problem: They told me I needed a new throttle body and new brake drums (I had just had the pads changed). I declined those, and I'm happy I did. I later went to an honest mechanic who told me that I did not need those at all. Fourth problem: The honest mechanic also found that they had broken some parts of the car cooling system (not for the engine / tranny, not the AC). read more

Fixed the carburetor on my 1969 camaro, nobody in the area does these anymore , they where very helpful , I trust these guys more then I trust my self with it , they are pretty straight forward told me my carb was done for changed it out and walla ready to go . Just like one of the reviews below when to get a simple oil change over the phone said it was $40 then charges $120 and since I was at work I had to have someone else take the car not only did the over charge of the oil change oil they claimed something else was wrong and my car was running totally fine these guys run a shady business don't need or want any new customers so they probably screw people every once in while when business is slow. This random repair and oil change ended up cost 500 dollars. Really wish I had gone to yelp because there are plenty of good mechanics in this area right down the road not nearly has horrible as these never take your car here look at the photos in the other review all legit this guys do bad business. Took my car in for a oil change. When I got my car back I noticed it was driving funny and making a loud screeching sound which it had not been doing any of this before. I called Arturo to let him know and he said to bring it in the next day. Before I could even make it home my car was completely broken down on the side of the road. I've always maintenance my car on time and nothing was wrong with my car besides needing the oil change. A man with long hair worked on my car (see pictures below) when my husband picked my car up this man told him something strange but we didn't put two and two together until after realizing they had damaged my car. This man admitted to damaging another customers car with his own truck saying he backed into it. Before bringing my car back to Arturo's I decided to let another mechanic look at it. My brand new radiator had a big chunk missing. This part costing $700. When I let Arturo know what I had discovered he quickly shut it down saying my car had many codes pop up. This was very confusing to me because he hadn't mention this before. He just made up whatever lie to cover up his and his employees (family Members) mistakes. And on top of everything they don't work on radiators... how are you an auto repair shop who doesn't fix radiators? He just didn't want to take responsibility and fix the mistake. I travel for work and my car broke down in San Jose. I had no one to fix my vehicles that I knew in the area as I have a personal mechanic where I'm from who works on drift cars so I don't really trust anyone else to work on my 96 Ford Taurus, Arturo and his shop truly earned my trust, they provided genuine and excellent customer service so I proceeded on with a diagnostic. After that they found it was the ignition coil pack they contacted me before processing to work on it which is very respectable. After I authorized the job they did the replacement and even offered to change my fuel filter for free as I already bought the new one and had it on me. Total hidden gem. Off the beaten path and even hard to notice with knowing the address. Totally worth it. The exterior may not look the greatest but it's because he's not using this shop to get rich. They struck me as a group that wanted to start their own business and earn their own money. No fancy dealership fluff. Good mechanics, quick work, and reasonable prices is an understatement. Started my car before work to smoke coming out of the hood. Brought it in for an estimate and was back out 4 hours later completely fixed. Including his brother running out twice to get parts I needed for my BMW. They even fixed an oil leak I had which BMW had quoted me thousands of dollars to correct for about. 5% of their estimate. If you like all the frills of the BMW dealership this isn't your place but if you like good, quick work at great prices I highly recommend. read more

Arturo helped me to dodge a bullet! I almost bought a lemon from a scamming used-car salesman, but Arturo ran some diagnostics and told me that the dealer had disabled the check engine light and erased the error data in the car. He then told me I didn't have to pay him because it was so fast and easy for him to see this and he didn't want to take advantage of me considering someone else was already trying to. My wife drives a 2005 Honda Odyssey and I drive a 2013 Ford F-150 (we don't believe in monthly car payments) however I see new BMWs and cars of all makes at their shop. Arturo's is the best mechanic I've ever been too. I have taken my Jeep here a couple of times now and he was alway able to help me out. They have always been honest with me and told me exactly what was going on and what was needed to get my Jeep fixed. I dont trust anyone else with my car other than the members at Arturo's!! They're friendly and give you reasonable prices.My transmission was done with on my jeep and i was stranded but luckily he has a tow truck available and was able to take my jeep to his shop and give me a qoute for a rebuild transmission. This place is the only honest shop I know. I was at pep boys and they were telling me my brake pads were bad and I needed a new rotor. Then I took it to Arturo auto repair and they told me my brakes are fine and said they'll probably last about another year. The owner is not like any other shops where they tell you to spend thousands of dollars on things that don't need to be fix. There was another time when I went to a nearby shop by my house just to get an oil change and they said there's all these things that need to be worked on that was going to cost me $1200. I said forget it, it took it to Arturo auto repair and he said all the fluids look fine. This has been over 4 years and I'm still driving my truck with over 177,000 miles. I always take it to Arturo's auto repair when I need work done on my truck. I can still take my truck to the mountains and it is running good. read more
