I brought in my husband's older 4runner for repair. Anyway, the shop opened at 830 and the repairman was super kind to me despite my cluelessness. He took a history and sent me on my way. Turns out the alternator was in need of replacement. They were able to source the part and do the install on the same day- all at a price that was super reasonable!! They closed at 5 but were really kind in allowing me to come by a couple minutes past the hour so we'd have the car back. It's now running smoothly and silently. I owed this place this review for so long since I had some personal problems, but I have to write this to appreciate Martin and his colleague (sorry I didn't know his name). They helped me remove my X5's McGard wheel-locks, which were destroyed by other mechanics in the past. Interestingly, lots of machine shops and even BMW dealers turned me away because they couldn't figure how to remove them, or perhaps it's too time consuming. But Martin and his buddy were extremely helpful. They stayed late and spent over a day just to help me out with a very reasonable price. I had squirrel(s) live in my engine within 2 days of not driving and they bit through my fuel line. I called one place and they referred me to the dealer. Another highly rated automotive shop referred me to Robbies Automotive Service for repairing the fuel line. Martin and Raul were very professional and honest. They called me the day of and explained that they were able to order the part from the dealer and have it fixed by the next day. They called the next day and showed me the fuel line where it was bitten by the squirrel. Everything was working as expected. Very happy with their work! My car developed an issue in it's engine that made a horrific knocking noise. Metal on metal. I'd pulled into my apartment's parking garage and the sound would bounce off all the walls. I took it to three different mechanics, one of which was a cousin of a buddy I could trust, and all of them said I had a bent tension rod. My engine would need replacing, a $7,000 - $11,000 fix. It would also take 4-6 weeks. Absolute nightmare. These guys took a look at it and determined it was instead a broken torque converter and a $2,000 fix. Saved me thousands of dollars. Literally. So, I was driving the morning commute up 85 to 87 when I hit something in the road. By the time I got to the Curtner exit, my car shutoff and I saw oil dripping out under my car. I called my boss in a panic and he told me to come here. I spoke to Martin and Raul here before I got a ride to work and by the end of the day, my car was ready!!! They told me I struck a piece of metal which nicked my oil filter and caused a leak. I was so lucky and these guys were so professional about it. My older second car had a hose that went bad and had a leak causing the car to overheat. I didn't have the time to fix it, so I took it in to them after Akins auto repair shop referred me here since they don't work on older cars. They fixed the hose and took all the coolant out and replaced it with water, which I Understand. I asked them to check any other hoses in that area that need attention and for a head gasket test to make sure my head gasket was still good. They replaced the hose and informed me my head gasket was blown. I took the car home and about a week later a hose that was literally under the original one sprung a leak. I replaced it myself since I wasn't going to pay another $130 again for a hose that was literally able to be replaced when the other one was replaced. I have been driving it regularly for about 2 weeks since then, with no over heating and no loss of coolant. I'm not saying they intentionally told me I needed a new head gasket and tried to make money off me , maybe I haven't seen symptoms in the car yet or I'm really luckily and it fixed itself, but given my experience with other cars I've owned and head gasket issues I definitely haven't seen signs of a blown head gasket. I'm just providing my experience. 2 stars because they did do a great job of switching out the hose, but for 130$ it was a little pricey. But if I end up seeing signs of a blown head gasket I will definitely update this review, until then that is a VERY expensive misdiagnosis that could break somebody's pockets. read more

Took my car in because my ac was blowing hot air on the streets, and I noticed my engine fan was no longer turning on, and that my engine temps were getting higher then was normal as a result. They found the problem and fixed it for a very reasonable price, they charged me exactly what they had told me, and they had it done quickly. I also asked them for a second opinion about a bunch of issues with the car another shop (big o tires, don't let Big O (specifically the morgan hill location) up sell to you if you go there for an oil change, chances are they are big fat liars) had found with my car. Well they took a look and out of 4 issues the other shop had found they confirmed only 1 and said it wasn't yet a true problem but would have to be fixed eventually and told me what to look out for and what the warning signs are of when it truly needs to be done.
