    Shrimp Enchiladas

3.50 rounded u stars. Almost 3 years ago we visited for my oldest son's 21st birthday. Tonight we walked across the street living in Sea Summit now (dream realized) and celebrated my Daughters 21st. First off the place is beautiful and always packed. Service is good but it's never been great. It's always seemed a bit hurried which is why for $360 for 7 people (including tip) we usually go to South of Nicks. It's a less hurried service and much more mellow atmosphere at the tables. But we wanted to walk tonight, so that was special and fun. The runners who bring the food have no idea which food goes to what person they just walk out and yell "who has the birria tacos?!" This needs some serious work. Food: The bacon wrapped jalapeño app they need to remove the veins and seeds they can be ridiculously spicy. Love the concept 3/5 Queso with fresh flour tortillas OMG 5/5 Fajitas 3/5 more like a stew than sizzling charred fajitas. Corn tortillas they are served with are trash. Birria tacos, only comes with 2. South of Nicks comes with 3. A lot of fat and small portion of meat. Flavor was solid. 3/5 Shrimp enchiladas 4/5 Final: Beautiful decor, loud and fun restaurant, decent service could be better, runners are clueless and need training, food is good not great.

The atmosphere is really cool... From this aspect I totally love the place. The food honestly is not my favorite but.... personal preference could play a role. In my opinion everything "ranchero" is just too rich for my liking... Even the salsa. I will try the *verde' versions next time. Service was excellent and friendly. The price was about as expected.

Excellent service and great food. Early lunch for us and the menu has lots of options...both Mexican cuisine and American. First was the chips and salsa and guacamole. Very good. Not pictured. We had the Signature Asada and the Enchilada so good. This is a must lunch and or dinner site. I highly recommend this place. Five stars all the way.

We've come to this place several times now for happy hour and for lunch and for brunch and everything has been really good. The service has been excellent. The atmosphere is very cool. It's a little bit pricey, but the food is delicious. We came here for dinner with three adults and two kids under 10 and the kids plates were excellent. The kids had tacos and really enjoyed it and then adults had several different items but you must try the bongo soup. It's the best we've ever had.!

From the food to the service, everything here was great! I've wanted to try this place since they opened, but I mistakenly let negative Facebook reviews hold me back! I should have just come sooner! The food was delicious. Their complimentary chips and salsa are homemade, super fresh, and absolutely scrumptious. We ordered the crunchy carnitas tacos, Crunchy Short rib tacos, soft flour tacos which were incredibly flavorful and came with beans and delicious, buttery rice. Their drink were absolutely worth it as well! We ordered a Margarita and whoaaa! It is really kickin' ! Our server, Fernando, was so kind and friendly. He took excellent care of us despite how busy it was! The ambiance is great!!! perfect for a chill lunch or a fun dinner night with friends. The only minor downside is that it gets a bit loud, and the music was cranked up. It's also a little overpriced, but totally worth it for the freshly made food! (I guess) I highly recommend checking it out regardless of the reviews!

After a day trip to San Diego, my wife and I made a quick pit stop here--and wow, what a pleasant surprise. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent, the menu had great variety, and the food quality really stood out. The Cabo Jerky and Ahi Agua Chile were absolute highlights--both dishes were packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. We've tried quite a few spots, and this one easily ranks among our favorites. Definitely a hidden gem that's well worth a visit! Also, thank you again, Augustin!

Across the way from the San Clemente Outlet, you can hear great sounds of nature, people and most importantly music! Plenty of parking. Clean exterior and interior. We were seated right away! Chips and salsa placed on the table and I had to ask twice what he was saying compared to how elevate his voice was at other tables Waitress came to the table and offered rose options. Super personable! Took our orders and we waited for a bit. I noticed the limes I asked for were completely dry. Fun fact, the smoother the lime is, the juicer. If it's bumpy then expect the lime to be dry. Food arrived and from the wet burrito to the tacos... everything was ok. I noticed the tomato notes were actually throughout all the food we ate and I'm guessing that's their signature. Overall food was on

Hip Mexican food restaurant adjacent to the San Clemente outlets make this far and away the best choice for food when shopping here. Lots of TVs showing the opening games of the NHL playoff weekend. Portion sizes were big. The grilled steak in the signature carne asada was so tender and perfectly grilled.

    Yellow butter cake absolutely delicious!!!

The food was incredible! everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The ahi tuna ceviche was perfect! Service was quick and friendly, and you can tell they really care about quality. Easily a 5 star experience. Agustin made sure we had everything we needed! We will definitely be coming back

Stopped in just looking for a quick midday snack and ordered the ala cart short rib taco to go. I love a crispy taco and this one had good overall flavor. The meat was a little dry but the sauce and toppings helped save it. The white cheese was solid and there was a green sauce on it that was really good. Honestly I wish there was more of that because it was the highlight. It didn't come with any extra salsa on the side but it was an ala carte taco, so that's fair. The place itself is really cool inside. Great atmosphere lots of energy a nice bar setup with TVs everywhere. It was packed on a Saturday which explains why this turned into a grab and go situation. Prices are a bit higher than other taco spots but you're clearly paying for the atmosphere as much as the food. Not the best taco I've ever had but definitely a solid stop and I'd come back especially if I can get extra of that green sauce next time.

Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal, although it was slightly disappointing that the tostada was majority lettuce with not enough chicken. Friendly service team, very clean property. Large parking lot with free parking. Outlet mall is across the parking lot so this is a convenient stop for food. Nothing spectacular about this place but, it's cute and a bit upscale as far as Mexican restaurants.

Staff: We were very impressed by our sever Humberto. He was truly amazing. Excellent customer service, very attentive, and friendly. Major kudos to him. Quality/Quantity: Wowzer! The food here is absolutely delicious. I started off with one of their famous blood orange margaritas and it was so good. For lunch I got the steak burrito that was served wet and boy was it good. My group got the enchiladas which were described as the best she's ever had. Other guests in my party got the taquitos, tacos, and kids hamburger. Everyone was very happy with the food. Value: The pricing is a little high but the quality of the food supports it. Overall: I was totally digging this spot and will return again.

What are the options for parking?

Very large parking area and it is away from the Outlet Center stores on the opposite side of the parking lot

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

I don't know what their policy is but I've seen many dogs on the front patio.

    Are there taco tuesday deals?

Happy Hour all day on Tuesdays!

Hello. Does this restaurant have vegan options?

Yes plenty all their dishes are vegan just move the meat to the side.

Does Asada have a happy hour?

    I think so from 2:30 to 5:30

I want to buy a gift card for my son & his family who live close to you. Can I buy it online?

Hi Michael, gift cards can be purchased on our site anytime. Head to asadacantina.com and scroll to the “Gift Cards” section at the bottom of our page. Thanks!

How close is the restaurant to Amtrak?

We are about 2.5 miles from the San Clemente Pier Station.

Are there a la carte options for tacos?

There are tacos on the starter menu. I believe tacos are only shown as a plate however last time we were there we asked our server for a single enchilada and they happily accommodated the request. I'm guessing they'd do the same for a taco.

Do you offer gluten free options? I noticed on your menu there are no allergen symbols. Also what kind of oil do you guys use for frying?

Lindsey, Our menu recommends that you notify the server or host of any allergies that you may have prior to ordering. We do not have a specific gluten sensitive menu although…

    Is the patio wheelchair friendly?

Absolutely. We have wheelchair accessibility throughout the restaurant and both of our outdoor patios.

Do you allow dogs on the patio?

Yes we allow small dogs and service animals on our outdoor patio

Does this restaurant have a taco Tuesday? If so, what are the times and deals?

Laurel We have been considering doing a taco Tuesday however it looks as though we will not be offering a Tuesday special until we are back at full capacity and able to seat…

They are a week apart so we combined them. Very sneaky spot because it is not visible like a regular restaurant, but that just adds to the ambiance. Had reservations at 8 PM and our seats were on the second floor where we had a view of the wonderful sunset. We were seated in a both that fits 6, but it was better because the food was spaced out nicely on the table for easy access. My wife tried the Lady Luck cocktail which has vodka and others very a very tasty drink. We ordered the party house dinner rolls that that were ok. We also got the Lobster Crab Mac n Cheese. OMG this was so good. The melt cheese, the chunks of crab and chunks lobster made this an exquisite item to eat. We could not stop talking about how good it was. It also had cheese crated over the top as well. Lastly we got the Executive platter which is a collection of steak that the chef chooses. Our platter had filet mignon, 40 day dry aged New York Strip, and a 35 day dry aged Ribeye. All three were fantastic. We could not stop gushing over the ribeye and how well it was prepared and tasted. The steaks were all seasoned to perfection and did not require anything added to them . They also serve them with 3 sauces, but they are not needed at all. They also brought us small dessert for our birthday which was scoops of ice cream, but we were so full that we could not eat all of them. I ended up getting the Caesar salad, which comes with lemon, fried anchovy, and a ton of pecorino, and they were not kidding about the pecorino. It was literally like a blanket over the whole thing. But this Caesar was probably one of the best I've ever had. It was so good I literally didn't share it with anybody, I was like nope, I'm eating this whole thing by myself. The flavor, the pepper, the anchovies, the lemon, everything was so perfectly balanced. Even the waitress was super sweet and told me if I needed a salad, as basic as it sounds, the Caesar is the go to. She was absolutely right, phenomenal salad. We also got the beef marrow tartare dip thing that came with potato chips. It was good, nothing too crazy to say about it honestly. The Parker House rolls though, those we got as a side and they came out buttery, juicy, and just really good. The truffle came right through, these were phenomenal and absolutely a must have to go along with that Caesar. Then there's the bacon, which sounds crazy, it's literally just called bacon and it's this fat thick four inch slab, one single piece, and it was so so so good. I was absolutely shocked by it. For my main I went with the forty day dry aged bone in New York strip. It was pretty dang good, wouldn't say I was completely blown away, but I have a hard time with steak places in general because I always compare them to how I make a steak at home, and I still think I can make a better one myself. That said, this was very good, great crunch and crisp on the edge, those nice burnt increased edges, seasoned perfectly, and a spot on medium rare, so no complaints there. For sixty bucks though I just have a hard time paying for it, even if it was very good. The one that stole the whole night, hands down and by far, was the dessert. I don't remember what it was called but it was like this pancake ice cream, buttery, gooey, delicious, light and airy heaven. I literally apologized at the table and said I'm going to eat this entire thing, and I did just that. It was awesome. The ambiance and decoration of this place is straight up fine dining, you can feel and see it, and they even have actual dry aged beef ribs on display which is really cool. Not bad at all. I'd recommend it as a high end spot, just not somewhere I'd go consistently since I can do better at home. But that dessert dish, whatever the heck it was, I would go back for that alone. Best dish of the night for sure.

I guess I'm glad we never had the opportunity to experience this level of service with my husband, and guess I won't be back seeing that he's dead and all. Edited to add tips - don't believe anything they tell you on the phone and if you really want to go, make a reservation, and apparently they will close for you if you can guarantee 20 people.

We got there just in time for Happy Hour on Thursday (4-6pm) and honestly, its 5 o'clock somewhere. Our server was Amber and the best server, it was our first time here and she made sure we were served well in the patio area. First thing we ordered was margaritas and I had to get the mango for I wanna say a dollar or two dollar more from the Happy Hour prices which was fine because I love a good mango margarita. Worth the price and it was goooddd. strong but good flavor and that tajin rim. We got a couple of appetizer, chips and salsa was included when we sat down but we wnated more food. It's a girls much needed debriefing time on our life and this place was it, Such a vibe, great food and great company, plus it wasn't too much when we got there. Definitely coming back here in the next few weeks, and since I'm working locally now, I might have to stop by for a marg or two after work.

The food was good. A few surprises My sister ordered the Cali eggs Benedict the potatoes wee supposed to be smashed, they were halved. The avocado slices looked old due to the dark tone on them, not the normal green. My chilaquiles had black beans, not mentioned in the menu description; great surprise. There was supposed to be sour cream on my chilaquiles and there wasn't any. It would have cut some of the sourness of the chile verde sauce. I chose poached eggs in stead of fried ones. My eggs were over cooked and cold. I am pretty sure they were precooked. I would give them another try, maybe for lunch.

Food: We started off with the coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp was good. The coconut was crispy and the shrimp was well done for the main dish. I got the Cali Benedict. It was Soooo good. The hollandaise sauce was so tasty. The shrimp was fully seasoned and the potato's were well seasoned and huge. I recommend people getting this dish. Ambiance: The ambiance was great. There wasn't really a lot of people so that was nice. Just kids screaming and cry from time to time.
