I would recommend this place for when you want low carb options on a date night. Atmosphere has a rustic feel and the vibe is lively. I've been here twice. Once for drinks and this last time for dinner. I enjoyed the overall experience mostly because my date was excellent at keeping me engaged in conversation which distracted from normal things that would bug me (like where is our food?). Below are 2 things I would change. 1) The value of the Serrano Wrapped Prawn appetizer dish was not worth it- $13, basically about ~300% markup (that's being generous). 3 shrimp, wrapped in bacon not Serrano chilies like I was thought to believe from menu description. Didn't taste any other flavors, barely any cotija cheese (see photo below). Plus the chef that night was heavy handed with the salt/seasoning which was unfortunate because bacon itself is already salty! I'd skip appetizers all together and save room for dessert. 2) Ordered a medium rare ribeye and got rare. I could see the guy over the grill get more than a pinch of seasoning and apply it to the meat (I was hoping it wasn't my ribeye!). Well, it was. I scraped off what I could. The ribeye portion was perfect but when I cut into it, I was disappointed that it was rare. I didn't send back since we already waited more than awhile for our entrees to come out. Polenta and what they call a chimichurri was good. Could've used more chimichurri. I wouldn't mind having this dish again. Next time I would order it medium well and easy on salt. The power of flesh In Tacoma . The only aroma I smell in Tacoma is the searing of meat at Asado's. Wow, I can't believe that a quality Steak house of this stature exists in Tacoma, But it does. However once you move past the steak you really enter unchartered territory. As for appetizers well the chorizo plate is wonderful but I'd rate the empanadas a 3 star. I'm a huge empanada fan so I was a tad disappointed, but I will say the empanada shell is very tasty but the inside or the inside filling needs some work. So I went this weekend and so the cardinal sin of not sticking with the winning format and stick with THE FLESH. I went with a chicken dish that sounded better than tasted. Plus it was served on lumpy PURPLE , yes purple mash potato's. I deeply regretted my choice immediately. Oh well it happens. They were out of both the lamb shank and the piccata, so we settled for sea bass. 40 mins after ordering, we still hadn't received our food and the waiter suddenly let us know they were out of stewed lentils? Then dessert with 3 scoops of ice cream 2 of their fried crepes, chocolate cake, and cherry crumble We loved every thing. They graciously packed up what we couldn't eat. Went here on a weekday with a friend for a birthday dinner. I ordered the lamb. Portions were huge. For drinks, I ordered the inside job cocktail which is kinda like an old fashioned. Knocked down one star because overall ambience was meh. Nothing special. Waitress also didn't make it a personalize visit especially after knowing it was a birthday. She wasn't bad. Went again today and the menu is similar to how it's been since my last annual visit (I don't live close to here anymore), with yet also a lot of different items. We had a 730 reservation for 4, got seated at about 735. After getting seated we promptly got service and put in our appetizer order, which after a while we noticed took an abnormally long time to show up. After some apologies we got them but then got a visit by the manager who said they would all be complimentary for the wait! Wow All our main dishes were as excellent as expected. Lots of unique flavors and perfectly cooked meats. Oh and the appetizers were all delicious as well. Had the pleasure of stopping in for Happy Hour. Our party of four bellied up to the bar, and met the bartender, Gianni. He was friendly in the most appropriate and fun way. He is super professional and accommodating, helping us select some nice meals. This man can make a mean and beautiful drink. We had four different drinks and all were superb. The Mojito was the best Mojito two of our friends had ever even tasted, and these guys know their Mojitos. We decided not to go with anything on the Happy Hour menu, instead choosing to go with other items. Two of us got the Asado burger and were pleasantly surprised that the provolone cheese was fried and crispy, it was seasoned to perfection, and the Rosemary fries were crunchy and delicious. The others opted for the Parilla Mixta, which was a medley of skirt steak, shrimp and chorizo. It was served over a bed of mashed purple potatoes with a chimichurri sauce that ringed the plate. That was quite delicious and cooked to perfection, although the chorizo was very dry and mealy. We would not get that dish again only because the chorizo was subpar. We topped off the meal with the cheesecake that had a honeycomb on top, berries and the berry glaze. The cheesecake was rich, not too sweet and the honeycomb was the star of the show. The others ordered the donuts. Great decision. Deep fried, crunchy, just the right consistency and sweetness. Delicious, especially with the sauces that were provided. We enjoyed the food thoroughly, but will give this place 4 stars because the Happy Hour did not include drinks, and the chorizo was extremely dry. A good Happy Hour should always include drinks, as well as food. Having Gianni host was incredible. He was fun, funny and super accommodating. We started with the empanadas, which were perfectly cooked, crisp yet chewy dough filled with delicious mix of meats and spices. I've only been one time, but in that one time I was able to eat an amazing dish. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and my friend ordered the seared scallops. The drinks where amazing as well. I will be back to try more items on the menu especially those seared scallops. I also like the interior design of the place. The design helped my forget about the others in the restaurant and focus on my friend. I came in for lunch and the service was great, but the place was relatively empty so maybe my experience was boosted by lack of customers demanding their time and energy. We've been here several times in the past six months or so and each time was excellent. The service is top notch and the food is excellent. The restaurant is not that big so the tables are closer than usual to each other and the front door does let in very cold air in winter each time it opens. The place has good atmosphere and the servers are super friendly. Prices were good but not the food. The meat was okay but chorizo, the asado in general was not Asado, and the empanadas were from another galaxy....like definitely not cooked by someone that ever lived in Argentina. I cannot love Asado any more than I do right now, they will always hold a special place in my heart. We got married last week and went to Asado for dinner with our family that night. The staff at Asado totally took care of us and gave us a very memorable meal. From the moment our starter of bread and butter hit our tables, I knew we were in for a good meal. I can't say for sure what was in this compound butter but it was delicious. So delicious that some of us took the leftover butter home! I want to say sundried tomato and chimichurri sauce. We went through a few servings of that. We were a group of 25 people and every single one of us loved our meal. I can't speak on how their meals tasted but my new husband and I adored our meal. We both ordered the Costilla del Carne with polenta and it was outstanding, I don't say that about food very often. Both of our steaks were perfectly cooked medium rare. They were tender and super flavorful. I'm the kind of person that reaches for the salt before I even try the food. The salt was in use and I forgot all about it because I didn't even need it. Our steaks were stunning... and oh my god that polenta was amazing. I now suddenly want more polenta in my life. Dessert was equally amazing, I got to try 4 of them that night: Vanilla Crema Quemado, Crepas Dulces, Pasteles Fritos and Passion Fruit Sorbet. The Vanilla Crema had a salted caramel top that made it even better than your typical creme brûlée. The Pasteles Fritos (banana donuts) were fantastic, especially with their sauces. That toffee though... Aside from the food, service was super attentive. Maybe it was because of our occasion but it doesn't matter, they made everyone's experience a good one, not just mine. The ambiance is great as well. On a sunny day, Asado is a great place to be, good drinks there too! My husband and I are already talking about when we can go back! Called over a week in advance to make a reservation and left a message. Never got a call back. Left 2 more messages and on the 3rd call finally had someone return my call. First they said my phone is malfunctioning since it went straight to voicemail (I set it to do not disturb when I'm in work meetings). Then said the hostess said have 2 large parties already so they were going to see what they could do. I only wanted to have my birthday dinner with 4 other people (5 guests total) and we'd be happy at a 4 top and someone could sit at the head of the table. The supervisor came on the phone and was extremely rude. He claimed they called and left a message but I never received a call from them and they were full. I will never go to this place bc of the way they mishandled this experience and will be sharing this with everyone I encounter in the puget sound area. Unless you can make you're a party of 4 or less, this place isn't able to handle your reservation and is definitely mismanaged. Owners should look into finding a new supervisor read more

We dined in a group of four, and ordered 4 different entrees: The serrano-stuffed chicken, picatta de pollo, the quinoa cobb, and a spinach and kale salad with chicken and shrimp skewers.
