Sushi in Fort Wayne? Am I crazy? No! Asakusa rocks! Great sushi selection (for the Midwest) delicious appetizers, try the gyoza, and fun selection of rolls. Had the sushi appetizer today, $11.25 and a delicious east coast maki roll. Great value and a regular stop for me when I'm in Fort Wayne!

Another travel trip, another day to try Asian food in this area. The restaurant was very crowded. Looks like a popular place for local. Owned and run by Chinese. It's hard to find a true japanese restaurant in midwest. You'll be lucky to find a good Asian food. Service was good for Sushi bar. Server was attentive. Kinda slow for table services. Not sure what went wrong. Plenty of Sushi Chef behind small bar. About 5-6 people. Still, heard some people tried to walk out due to long wait. Not sure why local likes clear soup, comes with some tempura crumbs, compare to Miso soup in typical japanese in Coast cities. Ordered Chirashi to try different sashimi. Not bad. Thick cut, fulfilling and fresh. Hopefully they keep consistency in quality and services.

Asakusa is my all-time fav place for sushi in Fort Wayne! The service is always good and the food is phenomenal. A great place to get together with friends and family!

This is the best sushi spot in Fort Wayne by far. The restaurant is always busy, and for good reason! The food always tastes super fresh, the prices are very fair, and with that you still get the experience of a nice restaurant. Asakusa remains a family favorite!

Locals said it is the best sushi in Fort Wayne. It is definitely some of the best sushi we have had! Really good portions. Service was good. Ambience is great for date nights and great for conversations!

This was our first time at Asakusa. It had a pleasant decor and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The tempura was very tasty and the miso soup was above average. The squid salad was a bit tough but the flavor was really good. My dragon roll was quite sticky and the taste was subpar. Our dinner companions seem to like the chicken teriyaki but my wife's shrimp and vegetables were bland and undercooked. We will probably will go elsewhere for our next sushi adventure.

First time here and we were so pleased! We didn't plan ahead and make a reservation, so we expected a wait and we're totally fine with waiting when the hostess told us 40 minutes. Maybe a little over 5 minutes later they gave us a call that spots at the sushi bar had just become available, and it being just the two of us that was perfect. It's very cozy in there and it was nice being at the sushi bar and kind of getting to see what was going on! Service was prompt, and the food was amazing. We definitely need to stop back in and try more things. We had already dug in here but we tried the tempura roll, dragon roll, and a few different sashimis (:

Always a good choice for dinner. Was a very busy Friday night, had to wait about 40 minutes but well worth it. They will text you when the table is ready so you can go run other errands nearby. Chicken teriyaki is very good, portion size is decent. Sushi is always fresh. Didn't get this time but my personal favorite is the oni maki sushi. It is warm and delicious. Service is usually attentive and friendly. Inside has mood lighting and the music doesn't overheat the ambiance. Never a bad choice for dinner. Biggest complaint is that I wish I could buy a quart of the clear soup at a time, it's so good.

Great service and food. Lots of sushi options and other delicious entrees to choose from. They also offer take out service for those of us in a rush.

They need a chef who knows how to do tempura, and someone to train their staff in customer service.

They also offer Chinese food, fried rice, noodles, bento boxes, hibachi, ramen and poke. As a matter of principle...I don't order Chinese food from places that aren't solely Chinese restaurants. I've just had bad experiences as those places don't seem to do Chinese well. I have been to Tokyo Dragon several times. I've ordered Chinese food here a couple times - as a change of pace. I can say that I'm not fond of their Chinese offerings...EXCEPT...their General Tso's chicken. I think their General Tso's offering is one of the best I've ever had! The General Tso's sauce is moderately thick and mildly sweet. Some places make it over the top sweet - not here. The sauce doesn't have a spicy pepper kick either. In fact...you don't see any large pieces of red chiles. I'm sure they use a small amount of chili sauce it give it flavor. It just isn't over the top hot. The chicken was cooked with no pink and slightly moist. The breading was thicker and absorbed the sauce nicely. There was a decent amount of fresh and slightly crisp broccoli. The dish wasn't dominated by too much broccoli. Normally the dish comes with white or fried rice. The white rice is always perfectly cooked - soft, sticky, tender and moist. On this occasion they accidentally brought me some fried rice which I've never tried. My wife thought this might be the best fried rice she had ever had. I liked the sprinkling of peas and carrots among the slightly oily/soy seasoned rice. Thanks for allowing me to share my opinion on Tokyo Dragon's General Tso's dish.

Portions were very generous! The hot and sour soup was the most unique we've ever had. Delicious! Loaded with tiny enoki mushrooms, a few thin strips of seaweed, tofu, etc. it has a slight earthy flavor, which grew on us as we ate it. Very complex! Hubs got sesame chicken. I got Mongolian Beef, each wth fried rice. Both are pictured below and were tasty! Tasty enough to order again on another visit.

Highly Recommended for Authentic Ramen!…read more I was looking for an authentic ramen place in town, and this spot came highly recommended--it did not disappoint! The Ramen: Truly authentic. You can tell by the broth, which tastes 100% homemade. It's not that MSG-heavy style that makes you want to drink a gallon of water afterward. I tried three different kinds, and all were outstanding. A standout was the cold noodle with a side of dipping soup--so interesting! You soak the noodles in the soup before eating. It might be a love-or-hate dish for some, but I found it unique . A Note: If you prefer a heavily seasoned, traditional American-style ramen (on the saltier side), this might differ from your expectation. Their flavors are more balanced and nuanced. Also Tried: The sushi was good--not outstanding, but reasonably priced with good portions and a fresh taste. Dessert Lovers, Listen Up! You must try the Fried Ice Cream. It made me feel like home! Hot, crispy, doughy outside with cold ice cream inside. So yummy!

I know I walked out of there extremely full, knowing I would return. However, the best part of the evening? It was undoubtedly the service that I received from my server. A mom of several kids, we talked about the challenges of balancing school and activity schedules with work hours required by her employer. In particular, we discussed one of her daughters, who is apparently an avid golfer despite the responsibilities of tending to her other tables. And she handled that with a smile and with grace. As I was in Ft. Wayne on a golf-related matter, I keyed in on this part of the conversation. Again, it was extremely friendly to meet someone so pleasant. Back to the food - again, it was excellent. And I will be honest, I ate more than I should have! The restaurant is in a small strip mall, but it is well-maintained at the time of my visit. For photos, I suggest that you Google the restaurant - there is an extensive selection. This also applies to the menu. Many, many choices, and they all look great.

Once we got back to the car I was in disbelief I decided to call and ask to speak to a manager. I started to tell him the timeline from when we walked in to when she came over, he cut me off and said "yes we do have a strict policy about no outside food" I said "sir I understand that, and that wouldn't have been an issue but you do not treat people that way, she cussed as us" he cut me off again and said "ma'am I assure you, she did not cuss at you" my husbands in the background saying "yes she did". There was plenty of help to serve our larger group. They were a bit slow...but allowed us to pace ourselves and enjoy the fellowship. I was impressed that they hustled a child's order ahead of the adults food to keep them satisfied. I didn't see the waiters come back through much after the food was served. On this trip I ordered the steak teriyaki bento box. The box is a bit expensive compared to Other places. However the sinking atmosphere, location, quality and volume...justify the price in my mind. The box came with a cup of miso soup. The soup was tasty and a lot like you would expect for a Japanese restaurant. It did not come with a salad as many other places might. The box was stuffed with food! The steak es piled high and excellent! It was very tender and moist. It had a nice teriyaki flavor marinated in the meat. There were two crab Rangoon pieces and two egg rolls. Normally you would only expect one of each. The crab Rangoon wrapper was cooked so that it was a bit oily and the wrapper was mushy. The filling was plentiful. However I felt like the filling was lacking on crab taste and overpowering on cream cheese. The egg Roll wrappers were a bit more crispy without being too crispy. The wrapper was a bit greasy to taste. I found the filling...while fresh...to be a little mushy as well. There were five pieces of a California roll included. That was a lot of sushi to eat as well. The roll was tasty. It was put together nicely and gave you a good taste of each ingredient.
