Curtis was great, charged me for only one hour of his rate and reinstalled my wall furnace as promised. I had agreed to have another HVAC company clean out my wall unit originally. This other contractor who will remain anonymous quoted $300 for the cleaning, and in the middle of the job suggested he needed an additional $200 to completely clean out the chamber of the wall furnace. We disagreed as I did not feel it justified to go from $300 as promised to $500. This HVAC contractor decided he did not want to complete the job for the original $300 quote, leaving me with a disassembled heater sitting in my garage that needed to be reinstalled. I called many HVAC contractors who let me know they would not work on someone else's incomplete job. I leveled with Curtis and explained the situation, and he came out himself to reinstall the wall furnace. During the holiday season and in the middle of one of the coldest and likely busiest times of year, Curtis charged me considerably less than what I would have originally paid and completed the job in about 1 hour. One week later, when we called to inquire about the difference between the two options, apparently , he just want us to stick with the expensive one (he did not even remember his visit - surely, one minute out of his busy day could be easily be forgotten). ASAP was able to start the job within a short time and the installation team was nice to have around and respectful of our home (they wear paper booties). I like to start by saying when my husband and I decide to replace all the duct work in our house we didn't expect we would end up replacing the heating system and getting air conditioning installed I met with Curtis Orloff from ASAP Heating & Cooling to discuss our needs. I mentioned to him that my husband and I wanted to replace the ducts and possibility to prep our unit to install air conditioning sometime in the future. He took a look at our ducting and pointed out that we had asbestos casing some of the ducting. He indicated that he would have to get a certified environment contractor to remove it first. He proceeds to take measurements and other information that was needed to be able to get us a bid. When we got the bid we were ok with the cost to do the job and get the asbestos removed. He also let me know that if we didn't want to wait until the future to add air that he could give us a real good deal on doing it now. I spoke with my husband and he said let's see what he is offering so we asked him to submit a scope of work, materials beings used and a cost. To our surprised it seemed good but we were not sure because he was the first one who we called. We were curious so we called other contractors to bid on the same work (apples to apples) to see who close or far apart each would be. I have to say there were differences in all 3 bids. I called Curtis and told him my husband was really thinking about doing everything now but wanted to do some research and be sure if we were going to invest now that it would be the correct decision. After researching we found there were single burners, duel burners and energy efficient units. We found out that there were many types of air conditioning units and speeds. My husband sent an e-mail to Curtis asking questions on the difference in the units ho how much difference in cost each unit would be Curtis e-mailed back and said that he would come back with a new bid that will include everything including HERS inspections and permits He also guarantee that his bid will be better than all the bids we got (of course he didn't know what they bided) for the units he was going to offer which was the next unit up from the standard unit he first offered. When we got the bid back my husband was I awe, The units he was offering along with the materials, labor, HERS certificate and permit, he was right his bid would be the best and this time by a long shot. I went back and played with the other bids because they also provide us how much more the units we wanted would cost. We let Curtis know that our replacing the ducts has now become a full replacement of the heating unit to duel burners and a new air conditioning unit. My husband said opportunities and prices like this don't come around often and we needed to take advantage now. Let me tell you ASAP Heating & Cooling work crew is one of the best one who has stepped on our property in the last 2 years we have been doing projects and those work groups were good but with this one we had a good experience When the heating unit was being removed one of the techs called me over and showed me a small crack in the unit. He said he was glad we were replacing it because maybe another year or sooner depending on the unit would have expanded that crack and start leak carbon monoxide. Although we have a detector up he said we really don't want to be inhaling that. He also asked us what we wanted and not what he felt was best for us. He suggested since the master bedroom had two bodies in that room that we may want more airflow to go there when running the air so our body heat doesn't get the best of us. We had a very minor issue that we needed the tech to come back out few weeks later. Let me tell you. When I called Curtis and told him what was going on his tech was here in an hour. Wow!!! Yes he got it fixed. Over all this company delivered what they promised. One thing Curtis said that also convince my husband was when we was asked about warranties and issues down the line he said that the units had warranties for 10 years and that he will always be there for us no matter what. We used ASAP Heating & Cooling twice in 2014; first time in February when we had two collapsed ducts underneath of our house. We had talked to quite a few contractors but when we met Curtis, we were impressed with his knowledge, competitive pricing, and enthusiasm to get the work done. Our contract was just a handshake. He and his crew arrived on-time on the scheduled day. It took a full day to finish the work. The crew was extremely professional, and very considerate about our freshly painted house. They did an excellent job covering all floors and cleaning up after the job was finished. We were so impressed with ASAP's work that we recommended them to two sisters-in-law of mine. Each had their old furnace replaced with a new furnace/AC system. They also replaced their ducting. Curtis did as excellent work for them. In July, we had our old furnace replaced with new furnace/AC system. With track record we had with Curtis, we did not contact any other contactor. We just called Curtis and told him what we wanted to do. He properly sized our equipment. The execution was flawless. This time around the work content was pretty significant compared to the first time. On top of that we replaced the ducting system in the attic as well. Our furnace was very old and the ASAP crew discovered that we had a lot of leaks in our plenum that had resulted in wasting the energy/money. They took time and patiently repair all the cracks and turned our old system into a state-of-the-art system. Curtis did not charge us for this unforeseen work. We are very pleased with services we got from ASAP as well as their delivery and commitment and do highly recommend this company for any heating and cooling projects.
