This review is to particularly shoutout the salon's care to safety during Covid. They take your tempature upon arriving then proceed to have you fill out a safety form via your cell phone. They have plexi glass up between technicians and clients. All technicians have masks and gloves on at all time. Also it is a large, open air space and no one is seated near a strangers. After my 3rd mani/pedi I can definitely say that I enjoy being able to get consistent service in a safe space where I can relax. I never feel pressure for add -ons and I always get what I ask for. As soon as King County entered Phase 2, I made an appointment for a much needed pedicure at Ascend because I had seen them at a CB2 event at U Village a while ago. Ascend has gone above and beyond to make sure EVERYONE in the salon is clean, protected and safe from Covid! They check your temp, make sure you wash your hands, and every one is socially distanced. My husband and I were in town visiting family and were very limited on time. After looking on Google we decided to try out Ascend Nail Lounge. We each got a Soothing Parrafin pedicure and I got gel polish for myself. We didn't make an appointment and walked in, we saw it was pretty packed but they were able to get us in! The front staff was very polite along with the technicians that did our pedicures. Great customer service, great pedicures, AND a great atmosphere. The salon has such a peaceful vibe. I was in Seattle on a work trip (more like a day and a half) a couple of weeks back. Had a few hours to kill before my flight which was a red eye to NY and thought I should use the time to get my nails done. Looked up some reviews and landed here. The ladies were extremely friendly and did a great job with my manicure (shellac). They also offer you a beverage of choice when you sit down for your service. Although the prices are steeper than what I pay in NY/NJ, over there they were pretty competitive. Clean, efficient quick service. Would definitely recommend. read more

One of the most expensive manicures and pedicures I've ever gotten and also one of the worst unfortunately. The place is nice, but they just did not do a great job. I had my manicure and pedicure done at the same time which was a HUGE mistake because they had to place a pillow on my lap and put a UV light on top all while my legs were slightly angled causing me to be positioned very uncomfortably. On top of being slightly uncomfortable, my nails started chipping the next DAY and within a week, they were extremely chipped. I have not done anything for them to chip like this, so I am very disappointed. Additionally, I read many reviews about being offered complimentary drinks and such, and I was not offered any of these things. It was disappointing, especially because there were like two other people in the salon, so it really wasn't busy or anything. If I didn't live in NY, I would be walking back into the salon, demanding that they redo my nails. It's unacceptable, especially for what I paid. read more

They do a pretty good job on nails, but I recently made a same-day manicure appointment which they canceled on me. After booking the appointment online, I received a phone call in which they told me that they couldn't honor the online appointment due to conflicts and had to cancel it. Seems like they need some changes to the appointment booking system! read more

Really glad I found this place! I got a shellac manicure and it lasted without chipping for almost a full two weeks (I'm not particularly gentle with my nails). They have a great color selection, everything is super clean and they are super dedicated to making sure you get exactly what you want! I've gotten two shellac manicures and already have my next appointment schedule for NYE with another shellac manicure and trying out their refreshing pedicure. I used to frequent another Queen Anne nail salon but after they cut me (two separate times with the cuticle trimmers) I knew I needed to find somewhere else to go. This place has pretty solid reviews - and I can see why. I made an appointment online and when I got there check in was super easy. It's a fairly new place so it's super clean and very cute inside. They offer wine and/or champagne which was a nice little treat on a Friday evening after work when I went. I came in on Easter Sunday with a girlfriend of mine and had the most awful pedicure of my life! My nails were sharp on the corners like knives and there was zero filing or buffing. No communication about cutting and when she put the polish on the lady missed 1/2 of my nail. They looked like a full 2 week grow out before I even left. The two of us were extremely disappointed. However the salon is very clean and they took very detailed covid precautions which was nice. I'd skip this nail salon if you are wanting a high end service. I hope this helps read more

I have visited this nail salon three times and I have had pleasant experiences each time. I always ask for a shellac manicure and every time I have asked for a last minute appointment- it seems they are often available for walk ins. I have been to many, many salons in my life and I would put this one in my top three. I would make sure to be very specific with what you want and to let them know if something isn't the way you want it in the moment. (This really goes for any salon.) Ascend is a new nail salon in Queen Anne. Close to the Gates Foundation, and walkable from Amazon campus in SLU. I made a same-day appointment on a Saturday. The check in experience was easy, and I had my choice of beverage -- water, soft drink or wine. I really enjoyed my gel French mani with Tiffany. She listened carefully to what I wanted, and bent over backwards to make it happen. I personally don't like it when my manicurist over trims a cuticle. Tiffany was very careful to check in along each step to make sure that I liked my nails. One week later and my nails still look freshly done. Highly recommend! read more

Poor service. Won't be back. Not sure why I was the only customer getting dual services who had only 1 technician when it was fairly dead. I watched a dozen other customers come and go during my appointment, nearly all had 2 techs throughout. Had to ask multiple times for the tech to remove the acetone soaked cotton balls they foiled tightly to the tops of my fingers, by the time I refused to allow them back on my nails an hour in, my skin was burned and flaky. They easily took my old nails off with another tool after I asked them to. They argued with me and blamed me when they messed up the polish on my toes, uncomfortable experience. I was pretty surprised they hadn't cut me yet, but that was saved for my manicure. After a good amount of blood scabbed over, they finished painting, and I paid and left. Unfortunately no one asked how my first appointment went on my way out. read more

Walked by here last week and immediately made a promise to visit. It looked so inviting inside. Decided to go today and it was so easy to go online and make an appointment. Waking in, my friend and I were immediately greeted kindly and asked to check in. Which was easy to do and opted me into rewards. They have many great colors to choose from, comfy chairs, friendly staff, and it was clean and beautifully decorated inside (currently has a pretty Christmas tree). My nails were painted meticulously, I was offered a third coat, the massage was amazing and it was not too long or short. I will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends and those nearby! I typically go to Apollo on QA but Ascend is giving them some great competition. And so far... not as busy and friendlier staff that greats you. read more

I've come here twice during COVID and both times not only was I very impressed with their service but was also very impressed with their COVID precautions. Last time I went, I asked to be sat by myself as far away from others as they could accommodate as an added precaution during these times and they went above and beyond accommodating my request! I had a great pedicure, for a second time I got the Ascend Signature Pedicure. It's definitely worth the extra price, very relaxing with a long massage.
