Server was attentive in the beginning and the service got late towards the end.. they got busy.. we had to chase down to make the payment and head back. Spent around $150 per person + Wine bottle My lamb chops were blonde. My colleagues said steak was good, big portions. Both the desserts were good

Ascend Steakhouse is on of the premier places for some fine dining in Bellevue. First off, I recommend you do the reservation with a guaranteed view. The option I indulged in last night was open seating in the lounge/bar area next to the fire place. Even then, on a clear June evening, you get lots of natural views and light. The whole lounge area is definitely a vibe. The customer service is fantastic. The only name you need to know is Tina's name. Tina will give you the experience of a lifetime. All her recommendations were fantastic (see photos). She took great care of making sure that not only my food experience was great but the entire experience was great. Highly recommend asking for her by name. Speaking of the food.... quite possibly the most delicious food I have had in a long time. The cocktails were great ( I went with bourbon based cocktails) and the food was fantastic (again- see photos). I totally recommend Ascend and if you can get Tina as your server, I recommend you do so. I can't wait to come back! I already have reservation lined up.

Ascend is showy and bold, but if you need a place to celebrate a special occasion in Bellevue, this fits the bill perfectly. The view on the 31st floor is just amazing, with stunning views of Seattle, Lake Washington, and the Cascades. The space is divided into several sections - a bar and lounge area, and then a couple of dining rooms plus private rooms. As you are facing west, it can get bright so some guests brought sunglasses or were provided ones by the restaurant! As for the food and drinks, for the most part it was very good. Ironically, the initial brea plate, while it sounded promising, was just meh. The apps/small plates were very tasty, especially the pork belly and sushi tacos. The menu is a la carte for the most part, so it's best to order some protein and a couple of sides. Loved the scallops and ribeye cap we ordered. Both were some of the best we have had in Seattle. Top quality, perfectly cooked and the flavors really shone through as it wasn't drowned in any sauce. The mushroom side was also very good. The mushroom dessert was also very good - bits of chocolate mouse, chocolate pieces and more in what can only be described as a small terranium :). We were able to split wine glasses through the courses so that allowed us to try quite a few which was nice. Service was professional, solid and steady throughout the night and the staff worked well as a team. Definitely the place to celebrate in Bellevue!

I like a good steak and when celebrating an event, friends recommended meeting at Ascend. I've never been to this restaurant before and it was quite a treat. The ambiance is very elegant without feeling too stuffy. The patio view is amazing surrounded by water. We started with the Tuna Tartare which was really good. We added fries, Truffle Mac and Cheese, Grilled Veggies and the bread service. Everyone raved about all of it. The truffle mac and cheese was something we hadn't tried before and it was amazing. We also all ordered the Filet Mignon which was made perfectly. The restaurant was aware we were celebrating and they brought over a couple of desserts for us to share and they were also great. The service was attentive and friendly. Our table attendant was named Brian and he was on top of everything. All in all, the service, ambiance and food were all top tier. This restaurant is not inexpensive, but totally worth it. I will definitely dine here again and highy recommend it. One caveat: In our rush to get to an engagement, I miscalculated the tip and did not realize this until going through receipts the next day. I am so sorry about this and it had nothing to do with Brian or the service - it was my own mistake. I will be much more careful on my next visit!

We came here to celebrate our one-year anniversary and had such an amazing experience I honestly forgot our server's name, but she truly made our night so memorable. We started with the sushi tacos and beef tartare--both were sooo good. Everything was super flavorful and had us excited for the rest of the meal. I also got the Cloud Nine cocktail that our server recommended, and it was perfect--on the sweeter side and not too strong, exactly what I was looking for. For our entrée, we got steaks and they were cooked perfectly, like actually so good. What really made the night special though was our server. She surprised us with dessert and even did a little presentation for us, which was so cute and thoughtful. She also offered to take pictures of us out on the balcony, which we really appreciated The food was amazing, but the service made it unforgettable. Definitely coming back for special occasions

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner and WOW, everything about this restaurant is exceptional. First off, upon walking into the restaurant, the first thing you'd notice is the stunning view. The restaurant is on the 31st floor and has huge glass doors throughout the dining room. The ambiance of the restaurant as a whole is nice and perfect for a date night or special occasion. Service is also exceptionally attentive and friendly. The menu here offers a variety of different steaks, seafood, and sushi. I ordered the luxury outskirt steak and my husband and I had the beef tartare to share. The steak I had was amazing and was up there for steaks I've had in general. My husband ordered a different steak on the menu and was also impressed. The beef tartare was also exceptional as well. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it!

4.5 / 5.0 - The weather forecast was rain and it had been gloomy and pouring at times during the day, so we weren't sure how the views would be. Fortunately, it started clearing up as we were on our way and we were able to enjoy the gorgeous views and atmosphere in both the bar and dining area. We first got drinks at the bar and moved over to sit in front of the cute fireplace. I tried a delicious cocktail called the Pear Pressure, which I would recommend to anyone who likes pears and enjoys fruity cocktails. For dinner, we moved over to the spacious dining area with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. We weren't very hungry, so we both ordered the sushi omakase, which comes with 7 pieces of sushi. It was presented beautifully on a plate with colorful toppings. I was so full that I didn't have any room for dessert, but my non-dessert-eating boyfriend insisted we order one. I really didn't understand why until it arrived. He'd ordered Skyfall, which was one of the most exquisite desserts I'd seen. It was a spectacular experience. This is the perfect place for a special occasion, to surprise someone or for a treat just because.

For my birthday, my husband took us to a place I had bookmarked a while ago, after hearing several clients rave about the views. We had reservations for dining so we had to wait in the lounge area before the room would open. Our waitress in the lounge was very attentive and nice, and the views from the lounge were great so overall it was a good experience. We ordered 2 sets of hand rolls, the ceviche and the truffle, and I got some non-alcoholic drink that want bad but wasn't great, either. Both hand rolls were very surprising in their ingredients and overall taste, but our favorite was the ceviche. Odd that they feel the need to charge extra for soy sauce and wasabi, but okay. Once sat in the tiny table in the dining room, our waiter came by and offered his sage advice on the menu. He made a comment about his "lean body" and what he chooses to intake with regards to food and his recs for dinner that he did NOT say to the table full of thin, white folks next to us, so that was noteworthy and unnecessary. He recommended me the cap of ribeye, which for the price, left a lot to be desired personally. My husband preferred the flavor of that particular piece over his bone-in, and I actually preferred his, so that was interesting. We also ordered the truffle Mac and cheese but didn't finish it. The pasta was very reminiscent of wheat or lentil pasta and it felt too stodgy. Flavor was fine, but the parsley crumbs were....an interesting visual choice. The bread "basket" was interesting, but the best was the complimentary dessert (goat cheesecake was delectable), as well as the mushroom dessert. So cute and tasty. We were mostly taken care of by side staff and frankly, they were much warmer and approachable, so kudos to them. Lastly, I was shocked to learn of the deposit to sit by a window, and then having to watch people come in wearing sweat pants and crocs. Utter nonsense. $400+ later, we would only return for the sushi, pork belly and dessert.

we stopped by for dessert after dinner. The magic mushroom never disappoints, we got the size medium but probably should have got the small.

This is my favorite place to visit in Bellevue. The view, ambiance, food, and service are always consistent and up to par no complaints! It's also my favorite spot for happy hour.

What can I say about this place other than WOW! The atmosphere of the restaurant was incredible with the city view watching the sun set from the dining room. Our server Sebastian was so knowledgeable on every dish and was able to expertly walk us through each section of the menu so we didn't feel rushed or unsure of anything we were ordering. The bartender that kept coming to our table was wonderful as well, always making sure our glasses were full and producing fabulous drinks! Now on to the food, holy cow was the food excellent! My finance said he's never had a better steak in his whole life and we would absolutely come back again for a special occasion or maybe hit up the lounge for a more laid back experience at Ascend.

Kalila is amazing! We had such a fun girls night celebrating a birthday. We let Kalila pick almost everything and she didn't disappoint! Such a great vibe, great drinks, and great food. My go-to for a bougie night!!

came to Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi to celebrate someone special, and it honestly felt like the perfect place for it. the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the view of the Bellevue skyline at night is just unreal. it's dimly lit inside, which does make it a little hard to see at times, but it actually adds to the vibe it feels intimate, romantic, and very date-night coded. for food, i went with the wagyu burger (i know... not the steak, but i was trying to be a little budget conscious, i can't spend $300 on steak yet). still, it did NOT disappoint. super juicy, flavorful, and honestly better than expected. the fries (or fries with that rich seaweed seasoning) were also really good and paired perfectly with it, very umami. i also tried the chef's special omakase, which was such a pleasant surprise didn't even expect a steakhouse to offer something like that, but it was genuinely impressive and well thought out. every bite felt intentional and elevated. i was hoping to finish with the magic mushroom dessert, but unfortunately they were sold out for the night. ended up getting the goat cheese panna cotta instead, and that actually turned out to be a great backup. light, creamy, and a really nice way to end the meal. service was also super kind and attentive throughout, helping us navigate the menu and making the whole experience feel smooth and celebratory. overall, really memorable dinner and i'd definitely come back for another special occasion.

Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi

    Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes, our restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Please feel free to reach out to the restaurant directly if you have any specific accessibility questions or needs, and our team will be happy to assist.

Is this attached to a hotel? I'd love to come visit?

Hi there! We are not directly in a hotel though we are on the 31st floor of the same building block - Lincoln Square South - as the W Hotel, with the Westin Bellevue on the other side of that.

Are we allowed to bring a cake into the restaurant?

Yes. We were able to bring a cake in for my friend's birthday party.

Do you have to make a reservation? Especially on weekdays? Like if it's a Tuesday

We do recommend you make a reservation but we also accept walk-ins!

Do Ascend take reservations in the lounge area during happy hour?

No, it is open seating. First come, first served.

Is the happy hour menu available in the dining room or only in the lounge?

Only in the lounge/ bar area.

Does the restaurant validate parking during weekdays?

They did as of last month.

What's the best time to reserve to catch a sunset in early June?

Try booking for 6 , check what is their dinner time as before dinner they give you bar seating and not dine in one.

    Do they have. Vegetarian menu?

    Yes. Vegetarian and vegan

What floor is the best place to park?

The parking garage floor doesn't matter as much as the proximity to the elevator stack that takes you right up to the Lincoln South Food Hall. One or two floors difference isn't going to matter given you'll be taking the parking lot elevator first,…

Is there a Valentine's Day event or special menu?

They have a Happy Hour Menu but that is only if you are dining in the lounge. They will verbally list daily specials on the day you dine--I'm not sure if they have a Valentine's day specific menu but you can have personalized messages on some of…

Is a reservation required? Is the dining room open for seating at 3pm when they open?

    Yes try opentable

Could we take the dinning room table and menu when arrive before 5pm? We want to have dinners, but need to finish early to pick up the kids at school.

No, they don’t permit either before 5 PM.

What is the difference between your lounge and dining areas?

The lounge is adjacent to the bar, includes low top seating in plush chairs and couches, and is located next to the southeast facing outdoor patio. There is a special lounge menu, but the dining room menu is available on request. The dining room…

Is there a dress code? Not seeing anything on the site

I dressed up night cocktail dress semi casual. Don't think there is one but the place is so beautiful that it is worth to dress up a little bit.

    Is there outdoor seating?

While we do have patios, we are not able to have them open with the current restrictions since they are only accessible from the inside/dining room. We look forward to serving you once indoor dining is allowable!

Has anyone ordered takeout via Ascend at Home? How was the food and portions?

No, they don't do take out. They're too elitist for that. I don't know why because their steaks tastes like ass dining in. Go to John Howie if you want a proper steak. Go to an actual sushi restaurant if you want sushi.

Is this restaurant reservation only even during lunch time?

Hi! Walk-in’s are always welcome, lunch and dinner; except for special event days. However, making a reservation is the safest option if you want to guarantee seating without a wait time or being turned away on busier nights. Let me know if I can…

I also have a question about bringing children. Most of these answers seem to be about behavior or dress code. My question is simply wether there is anything they'd like to eat. I don't want to buy them an $85 steak. Is there a children's menu?

Yes they have a children's menu - it's not printed but just ask for it.

Is seating for happy hour easy to find on a Saturday afternoon? I can't find an opentable reservation for the special girls day I'm planning for out of town family (3 people)

Yeah shouldn't be too bad :)

Us: "We just wanted the wasabi left out. Everything else was fine." Server: "You know what, I'll just bring you some cilantro stalks, so you can decorate it yourself." Server comes back and drops a ramekin of micro greens in the middle of the table. I've waited tables myself for over 10 years, from diners to fine dining, and I wouldn't have dreamed of ever acting like that with a guest. At this point I spoke to the manager and he took the server off our table. The manager was very understanding and acted quickly to switch us to a new server, and they let us order the oysters with just the migonette. Even though the manager comped the oysters, and was trying to salvage our experience, our visit was pretty much ruined by that server. I've never been openly disrespected by a waiter like that before, and I've played the interaction out in my mind multiple times, and I still have no idea what made him crash out like that. Servers are the face and the personality of any restaurant. And to see a waiter get so openly hostile when someone is trying to I ever encountered a server who was even a fraction as rude as this guy was - he went from zero to hostile in a matter of seconds, and I still have absolutely no idea why.

Most bbq places are laid back and loud, but this place is refined, sophisticated, and everything you'd want for a date night or celebration. Starting off with service, everyone we spoke with was lovely and inviting. We felt welcomed and our server kept checking on us, but wasn't too invasive, so we were able to catch up. We were greeted with hand towels and 3 options for water. Cutlery and tableware were nicely set up and I'm obsessed with their plates! I was blown away by all of the dishes we ordered but my favorites were definitely the Uni Toast, Wagyu Volcano, and honestly all the meats we ordered to grill. They grill your meats for you, so it is a bit awkward because the person stands there until everything is done, but it's cooked to perfection! Highly recommend for a nice date night or celebration dinner.

We started with a wagyu toast and the meat just melted in your mouth. We also had alaska king crab with A5. Kind of a surf and turf nigiri. The uni toast was a little too much toast but it was a generous amount of uni. The Rubik's cube was a literal cube of meat. They cook it to perfection in front of you. Lots of sauces and sides to try. Everything was very good. It's amazing how different each cut of meat tastes. I loved the silky egg yolk in the volcano. They offer bottle service as well as drinks and their drinks were excellent. Would definitely go back!

Checked in on us a few times but not overdoing it. He was very personable to nearby tables. Our dishes were quickly taken care of, waters always topped off. This is an unbiased review, he didn't ask me to leave a review for him :) - [4/5 ] Food We got a bread and butter and the Dungeness crab cakes to start. My husband got the Japanese A5 wagyu paired with lobster mashed potatoes. I got the fresh NW King salmon. Food was delicious! The steak was melt in your mouth tender. My salmon was cooked perfectly too. They gave us 3 different salts to pair our food with which was fun! Emil also brought out a small dessert since we were celebrating my husband's birthday which was thoughtful of them to do! Prices are a bit steep - but that's to be expected at an upscale restaurant like this. Our bill came out to around $400 (which included the mandatory 20% service charge and additional tip since service was wonderful). - [ 5/5] Location/Parking Restaurant is located in the Bravern. Park closer to the Amber side if possible. They validate parking!

I had their crab cakes for dinner and was surprised by the five huge cakes stuffed with lots of crab meat. My wife's steak and lobster was cooked perfectly, and the mushroom appetizer was delicious. The miso glazed fish was decent but we wished the miso flavor came through more, though the wasabi mashed potatoes were excellent.

FOGO DE CHÃO is brilliant and absolutely phenomenal if you're looking for a Brazilian steakhouse!!!…read moreThat's about all that needs to be said... period. But that's not my style so here I go... First off, the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant as you immediately step inside is spectacular. It's elegant but with a casual feel. Or maybe it was its casual with an elegant vibe... either way, you cannot go wrong. Depending on the time of day, if the wait is long, I'd suggest grabbing a drink from the full bar. Once seated, we ordered our drinks and headed over to the salad bar/cold cuts and grabbed some select items. I'm always careful to not overload on the trimmings as I'm here for the various cuts of meats. Pretty simple process. You flip your marker (green) over for cuts of meat being offered and over again (red) if you want to enjoy your meal. Then on and off again. The skewers of meat are divine, ranging from bacon wrapped chicken, to sausages, to a variety cuts and cooked beef, pork, or lamb. I opted for a 6oz. Lobster tail dripping in succulent butter, as well! Such an amazing experience! Thank you to the staff of Fogo and all of the chefs... hats off to you! As always, enjoy and Happy Sampling!

Fogo de Chão has officially entered its flop era…read more We usually come for the full churrasco experience, but on our last visit, we were practically begging for scraps. You'd think the gauchos were personally rationing the beef for winter...we were lucky if we managed to flag down three measly slices of meat all evening. Since the skewers were treating us like ghosts, we decided to order the dry aged steak that's supposedly sized for four people. Total fiction. What arrived was barely enough to satisfy two mildly hungry toddlers. Getting anything to the table took an eternity...drinks, side dishes, basic eye contact, yet the second we finished eating, the bill appeared at Olympic sprint speed. Truly unmatched efficiency when it's time to swipe the card. To top off the premium priced misery, the women's restroom was an absolute disaster zone. At this point, paying top dollar for neglect, false meat promises, and dirty restrooms is a hard pass. There are far better places to drop this kind of cash. We won't be back.

Almost 20 years later and now married, I wanted to bring my husband here and share this experience. Of course, we both had a great time. The atmosphere, the service, the food. Again, all wonderful! Parking is in the garage, and they validate. We got the Torched Salmon Belly (be sure to eat the leaf it comes on! it's part of the experience). Delicious! 10/10 would get again, mostly because the Shiso leaf was something I've never had before. The Grilled Octopus was wonderful and not chewy at all. Loved the Greek lemon caper pepperoncini vinaigrette that came with it. I read that a lot of others were recommending the Deviled Eggs, which we also got and enjoyed. I think one set was salmon and the other was tuna. You honestly cant go wrong with either. I feel like getting the Coconut Creme Pie is a must here. I love coconut, and oddly enough really dislike pies, so this wouldn't be something I would normally get. But with a presentation like this, how can you pass it up? I do remember getting this back in 2008 and loving it, and it seems my tastebuds haven't changed. 10/10! Get this! But only if you love coconut.

For two, we got a few appetizers (ahi tuna poke, crab cakes, raw oysters) and an entree to split (Jambalaya). Service was very attentive, checking in after each meal and even pre-splitting the entree which was great. Overall though, the appetizers failed to impress. The highlights of this meal were probably the raw oysters followed by the Jambalaya, which meant the rest of the meal left something to be desired. 3/5 stars for the average meal but +1 star for service.
