We came here to celebrate our one-year anniversary and had such an amazing experience I honestly forgot our server's name, but she truly made our night so memorable. We started with the sushi tacos and beef tartare--both were sooo good. Everything was super flavorful and had us excited for the rest of the meal. I also got the Cloud Nine cocktail that our server recommended, and it was perfect--on the sweeter side and not too strong, exactly what I was looking for. For our entrée, we got steaks and they were cooked perfectly, like actually so good. What really made the night special though was our server. She surprised us with dessert and even did a little presentation for us, which was so cute and thoughtful. She also offered to take pictures of us out on the balcony, which we really appreciated The food was amazing, but the service made it unforgettable. Definitely coming back for special occasions

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner and WOW, everything about this restaurant is exceptional. First off, upon walking into the restaurant, the first thing you'd notice is the stunning view. The restaurant is on the 31st floor and has huge glass doors throughout the dining room. The ambiance of the restaurant as a whole is nice and perfect for a date night or special occasion. Service is also exceptionally attentive and friendly. The menu here offers a variety of different steaks, seafood, and sushi. I ordered the luxury outskirt steak and my husband and I had the beef tartare to share. The steak I had was amazing and was up there for steaks I've had in general. My husband ordered a different steak on the menu and was also impressed. The beef tartare was also exceptional as well. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it!

4.5 / 5.0 - The weather forecast was rain and it had been gloomy and pouring at times during the day, so we weren't sure how the views would be. Fortunately, it started clearing up as we were on our way and we were able to enjoy the gorgeous views and atmosphere in both the bar and dining area. We first got drinks at the bar and moved over to sit in front of the cute fireplace. I tried a delicious cocktail called the Pear Pressure, which I would recommend to anyone who likes pears and enjoys fruity cocktails. For dinner, we moved over to the spacious dining area with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. We weren't very hungry, so we both ordered the sushi omakase, which comes with 7 pieces of sushi. It was presented beautifully on a plate with colorful toppings. I was so full that I didn't have any room for dessert, but my non-dessert-eating boyfriend insisted we order one. I really didn't understand why until it arrived. He'd ordered Skyfall, which was one of the most exquisite desserts I'd seen. It was a spectacular experience. This is the perfect place for a special occasion, to surprise someone or for a treat just because.

This is my favorite place to visit in Bellevue. The view, ambiance, food, and service are always consistent and up to par no complaints! It's also my favorite spot for happy hour.

Such a fun night with amazing views!

Kalila is amazing! We had such a fun girls night celebrating a birthday. We let Kalila pick almost everything and she didn't disappoint! Such a great vibe, great drinks, and great food. My go-to for a bougie night!!

came to Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi to celebrate someone special, and it honestly felt like the perfect place for it. the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the view of the Bellevue skyline at night is just unreal. it's dimly lit inside, which does make it a little hard to see at times, but it actually adds to the vibe it feels intimate, romantic, and very date-night coded. for food, i went with the wagyu burger (i know... not the steak, but i was trying to be a little budget conscious, i can't spend $300 on steak yet). still, it did NOT disappoint. super juicy, flavorful, and honestly better than expected. the fries (or fries with that rich seaweed seasoning) were also really good and paired perfectly with it, very umami. i also tried the chef's special omakase, which was such a pleasant surprise didn't even expect a steakhouse to offer something like that, but it was genuinely impressive and well thought out. every bite felt intentional and elevated. i was hoping to finish with the magic mushroom dessert, but unfortunately they were sold out for the night. ended up getting the goat cheese panna cotta instead, and that actually turned out to be a great backup. light, creamy, and a really nice way to end the meal. service was also super kind and attentive throughout, helping us navigate the menu and making the whole experience feel smooth and celebratory. overall, really memorable dinner and i'd definitely come back for another special occasion.

We went to Ascend prime due to the incredible views and the hopes of great food to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, we were placed at a table that faced a beverage station with waiters backs to us for most of the meal and loud noises. We needed to wear sunglasses for half our meal because we were directly facing the sun. When we asked to be placed at a different table with a better view, we were told there were no other tables. However, we noticed several empty tables available along the windows that remained empty for the full duration of our meal. Additionally, the uni nigiri was melted and really disappointing. The waiters were quite nice but due to our table location, it was very hard to hear them or when they described our food. When paying $500+ for a meal, I would expect better and would recommend going to other restaraunts in area. We will not be going back.

What can I say about this place other than WOW! The atmosphere of the restaurant was incredible with the city view watching the sun set from the dining room. Our server Sebastian was so knowledgeable on every dish and was able to expertly walk us through each section of the menu so we didn't feel rushed or unsure of anything we were ordering. The bartender that kept coming to our table was wonderful as well, always making sure our glasses were full and producing fabulous drinks! Now on to the food, holy cow was the food excellent! My finance said he's never had a better steak in his whole life and we would absolutely come back again for a special occasion or maybe hit up the lounge for a more laid back experience at Ascend.

Great place for business dinner or for special occasions. The place is spacious but if you are on a date or in small group, it's better to sit near the window for the view. Starting out, they serve some delicious complimentary. Soft flavoirful butter with gluten free rice crackers, a tiny bit blend cream puff like Oyster shoot: the yuzu is a bit overwhelming, so maybe should not down it in one shot. The uni with carvia taste wonderful together Frois gras: delicious, meringue is a bit too much and too sweet overpower the taste of other. Can use a bit less sweet. Or maybe Im Asian and this is a bit more cater to western palate.

Great food, fresh ingredients. Service was attentive and excellent. Great vibes and ambiance for a fancy dining experience for families, groups or couples. The desserts are creative and beautiful. Uni and rolls were also really good. Items with King Salmon are especially worth getting. Would come back.

Located on the 31st floor, def has beautiful views of Bellevue. Came here on a whim for Happy Hour with a dear friend. My friend always raved about the Ascend Wagyu burger, so def ordered that. And also ordered the Hamachi Truffle Handroll. The burger was pretty good! The patty was juicy and went well with the white cheddar. One thing to keep in mind is that the burger does come with a over medium egg, so if you're not into eggs in your burger, you can request to take it out. I like that they include a In regards to the Hamachi Truffle Handroll, I was pleasantly surprised! All the toppings complimented the hamachi and the truffle was the cherry on top! I ordered a drink as well, I think it was the cloud nine. To me, this drink was refreshing, a little on the sweet side, but it was still good. But the presentation was nice since they add dry ice, so you get a little show which I recommend. My friend ordered the 1921, which also is presented with dry ice. They have other drinks that have smoke/dry ice shows as well. Just ask! Service was good! Got checked on enough, and they were friendly. If you haven't been here, I'd say to at least try it once. Def rather to get a seat by the windows or fireplace if you can.

Premier location for incredible view of Mt. Rainier, Lake Washington, and the Sound. On a clear day, there is nowhere better to be. The staff is always exceptional. They even have an app to check all the contents on the entire menu for people with allergies. Two approaches to landing a table, 1) get a reservation and sit at a table and eat comfortably, but I prefer 2) walk in and ask for lounge seating. All the table are lounge-type so they are not ideal for eating a full meal, but I've done everything from drinks and apps to full steak meals. I hands down think the lounge seating is better because it is less obstructed and facing south, southwest.. The dining area tables have a beautiful view as well, but it doesn't seem as nice unless you pay for/score a window seat (far more seating that is not next to a window and some facing more downtown). LOVE love this place, BUT, it is VERY pricey and though the presentation of all their dishes is wonderful and the menu is sophisticated, I'm not overwhelmingly wowed by they food. It's good, but it's not great. You are paying for the experience and the view and it IS worth it!

The service was top-notch and probably one of the most attentive I've had. Obviously, you come here for the amazing views and the rooftop vibes. The food was also great - I came here for happy hour and the sushi taco was texture and flavor perfection. The truffle fries were also great and had this nori vinegar that paired well with it. My only reason for not giving this five stars is the price, but I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi

Is this attached to a hotel? I'd love to come visit?

Hi there! We are not directly in a hotel though we are on the 31st floor of the same building block - Lincoln Square South - as the W Hotel, with the Westin Bellevue on the other side of that.

Are we allowed to bring a cake into the restaurant?

Yes. We were able to bring a cake in for my friend's birthday party.

Do you have to make a reservation? Especially on weekdays? Like if it's a Tuesday

We do recommend you make a reservation but we also accept walk-ins!

Do Ascend take reservations in the lounge area during happy hour?

No, it is open seating. First come, first served.

Is the happy hour menu available in the dining room or only in the lounge?

Only in the lounge/ bar area.

Does the restaurant validate parking during weekdays?

They did as of last month.

What's the best time to reserve to catch a sunset in early June?

Try booking for 6 , check what is their dinner time as before dinner they give you bar seating and not dine in one.

    Do they have. Vegetarian menu?

    Yes. Vegetarian and vegan

What floor is the best place to park?

The parking garage floor doesn't matter as much as the proximity to the elevator stack that takes you right up to the Lincoln South Food Hall. One or two floors difference isn't going to matter given you'll be taking the parking lot elevator first,… Read more

Is there a Valentine's Day event or special menu?

They have a Happy Hour Menu but that is only if you are dining in the lounge. They will verbally list daily specials on the day you dine--I'm not sure if they have a Valentine's day specific menu but you can have personalized messages on some of… Read more

Is a reservation required? Is the dining room open for seating at 3pm when they open?

    Yes try opentable

Could we take the dinning room table and menu when arrive before 5pm? We want to have dinners, but need to finish early to pick up the kids at school.

No, they don’t permit either before 5 PM.

What is the difference between your lounge and dining areas?

The lounge is adjacent to the bar, includes low top seating in plush chairs and couches, and is located next to the southeast facing outdoor patio. There is a special lounge menu, but the dining room menu is available on request. The dining room… Read more

Is there a dress code? Not seeing anything on the site

I dressed up night cocktail dress semi casual. Don't think there is one but the place is so beautiful that it is worth to dress up a little bit.

    Is there outdoor seating?

While we do have patios, we are not able to have them open with the current restrictions since they are only accessible from the inside/dining room. We look forward to serving you once indoor dining is allowable!

Has anyone ordered takeout via Ascend at Home? How was the food and portions?

No, they don't do take out. They're too elitist for that. I don't know why because their steaks tastes like ass dining in. Go to John Howie if you want a proper steak. Go to an actual sushi restaurant if you want sushi.

Is this restaurant reservation only even during lunch time?

Hi! Walk-in’s are always welcome, lunch and dinner; except for special event days. However, making a reservation is the safest option if you want to guarantee seating without a wait time or being turned away on busier nights. Let me know if I can… Read more

I also have a question about bringing children. Most of these answers seem to be about behavior or dress code. My question is simply wether there is anything they'd like to eat. I don't want to buy them an $85 steak. Is there a children's menu?

Yes they have a children's menu - it's not printed but just ask for it.

Is seating for happy hour easy to find on a Saturday afternoon? I can't find an opentable reservation for the special girls day I'm planning for out of town family (3 people)

Yeah shouldn't be too bad :)

Is the place ok if we bring kids?

Yes, for sure. We've brought our 3 and 6 year olds and I see a number of kids there other times I've done dinners in each of the various sections. There's enough space, sound dispersion, and the baseline noise accommodates kids well. That said,… Read more

Absolutely loved the lavender foam. It was perfectly balanced and perfect amount of sweetness. I'd get it again Seasonal Purple Sweet Potato Mont Blanc- this looked better than it tasted the sweet potato itself was more savory and needed the soft serve to make it taste more like a dessert. Once you make your way to the soft serve, spoon a little bit of the sweet potato with a full spoon of soft serve, then it'll be good, in my opinion. Kohaku Matcha Parfait- delicious. Loved the little bit of strawberry and the warabi mochi. Probably not the best matcha parfait I've had but I'd get it again. Got the Sakura Tendon Set to go for dinner on the plane. While it was tasty, the crispiness didn't hold up so I would not recommend taking it to go/eating it at room temp. I was blown away by all of the dishes we ordered but my favorites were definitely the Uni Toast, Wagyu Volcano, and honestly all the meats we ordered to grill. They grill your meats for you, so it is a bit awkward because the person stands there until everything is done, but it's cooked to perfection! Highly recommend for a nice date night or celebration dinner.

We started with a wagyu toast and the meat just melted in your mouth. We also had alaska king crab with A5. Kind of a surf and turf nigiri. The uni toast was a little too much toast but it was a generous amount of uni. The Rubik's cube was a literal cube of meat. They cook it to perfection in front of you. Lots of sauces and sides to try. Everything was very good. It's amazing how different each cut of meat tastes. I loved the silky egg yolk in the volcano. They offer bottle service as well as drinks and their drinks were excellent. Would definitely go back!

Feedback regarding a private event:…read more Dear Nallely, I want to thank you for your outstanding service and guidance in preparing for our dinner event on 5/2. The evening was fabulous, and I would absolutely recommend your restaurant for private events. Everything was seamless and the food was delicious. Based on your recommendations, we had a wonderful selection of starters and were able to take advantage of the extras you suggested. I truly feel that your resources and our investment were used effectively and efficiently. Our lead server, Eduardo, was exceptional. He was always easy to find and had everything well in hand. When my family and I arrived we had some minor changes to the seating layout, he addressed them immediately -- and by the time our guests arrived, everything was perfect. Whenever we had a request or needed a change, he was on it right away and simply made it happen. He kept my husband and I informed on the minimums we needed to meet and offered excellent suggestions on how to finish out the evening. He was approachable, cheerful, and always ready to deliver. Thank you both for making our evening effortless. Additionally, Nallely was a tremendous help from start to finish. She went above and beyond with the table layout, working to help us maximize the space exactly as we envisioned -- and it turned out perfectly. She was consistently helpful, easy to reach, and always had a clear answer and explanation for how things were handled. I would wholeheartedly recommend Fogo de Chao Bellevue and would gladly pass along Nallely's name to anyone who asked. Because of Nallely, Eduardo, and the entire staff at Fogo de Chao Bellevue, our evening was smooth, easy, and everything we had hoped for. I would 100% do it again and recommend it to friends and colleagues.

But that's not my style so here I go... First off, the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant as you immediately step inside is spectacular. It's elegant but with a casual feel. Or maybe it was its casual with an elegant vibe... either way, you cannot go wrong. Depending on the time of day, if the wait is long, I'd suggest grabbing a drink from the full bar. Once seated, we ordered our drinks and headed over to the salad bar/cold cuts and grabbed some select items. I'm always careful to not overload on the trimmings as I'm here for the various cuts of meats. Pretty simple process. You flip your marker (green) over for cuts of meat being offered and over again (red) if you want to enjoy your meal. Then on and off again. The skewers of meat are divine, ranging from bacon wrapped chicken, to sausages, to a variety cuts and cooked beef, pork, or lamb. I opted for a 6oz. Lobster tail dripping in succulent butter, as well! Such an amazing experience! Thank you to the staff of Fogo and all of the chefs... hats off to you! As always, enjoy and Happy Sampling!

The room was packed, mostly business dinners that day. The bread basket alone got us excited (kicking myself for not snapping a photo). Drinks were solid too. The grilled octopus was the standout for me. The Parmigiano-crusted petrale sole was comfort food done right: golden, crispy crust with mashed potatoes and haricot verts. We closed with the passion fruit panna cotta and crème brulee. Heads up: service was good, and there's a 20% service charge on top of the check.
